Why should I give my money to you, you are better than other coins, explain Huh

The BLOCKPOOL project isn't like most where the blockchain is the center of the project with everything else orbiting around it.  We decided to take a far different approach in order to bring companies and organisations into crypto.  Right now companies are still afraid of blockchain only solutions and to be honest the blockchain doesn't work very well as a store-all like a storage server is.  Our platform will be designed to be data-agnostic utilizing API calls to interface with legacy systems companies aren't ready to sunset yet.  For the systems that are so old it is losing the company money our platform will also be able to replace those systems and add automation where there previously was none.

The BPL Chain will be used to store information that absolutely need permanent data retention like contracts, revenue splits, collaborations, sales, links to our decentralized file storage system to name a few use cases.  We want to prevent bloat so keeping unnecessary data out of the chain is imperative for corporate and non-profit organisation adoption.  I believe based on our meetings with different groups and companies we are on track to build a system that will work for everybody.

Also working the system in the way we have allows for private and pseudo-private chains for large and small companies/organisations.  Some companies want to retain their own data exclusively, other smaller companies don't mind if people help them store data.  In other cases it will be necessary for multiple organisations to utilize one chain that is owned equally by all organisations involved.  Our blockchain and platform will be able to facilitate all of this.

Kevin Bacon is on the team? I really enjoyed Footloose.  Tongue

I'll be watching this thread.

Thank you for your support!  However you are thinking of the wrong Kevin Bacon lol Smiley.  Mr. Bacon is a successful music producer who has worked with bands and artists all across the world.

but maybe Blockpool Kevin Bacon can also do the Footloose video Smiley

Now that would be an interesting sight to see!

I didn't have any luck getting it working, but the original is fine
Is it a big update ?

Good to see some action here
I've been in since day 1 just about, seen some good appreciation, looking forward to more :-)

Hey codypanama

The update is pretty large in size.  Its about a years worth of security updates and stability fixes.  Could you please give us a better description of the problem you are having?  Is the wallet not booting? Is it not syncing the chain when it loads? Are you getting a weird error message.  As much detail as possible helps a lot with troubleshooting.

Why is this coin worth dogshit?

We have intentionally been quiet about the development going on behind the scenes, anyone who has been following our slack channel are most privy to the news behind the scenes.  Creating hype too soon can easily kill a coin outright.  What is important in my opinion is that we don't drop below the all time low and now that we have the wallet update completely finished, with a LOT of development going on I highly doubt we will see the current price remain where it is or drop lower.
There is still a ton of information we can't release yet until we have signatures on paper but it's really exciting stuff, that I can say.

Here is the Oct 2nd Status update for AudioCoin and Aurovine:

added to voting page on livecoin

"The process of adding new coins to the exchange takes place regularly, but resources are limited so we have to approach the matter selectively. We choose coins from this list in accordance with different factors such as number of votes, complexity of implementation etc. We focus our attention on coins from the TOP 3 of the list.

You can vote for FREE once every 30 days if your account is active. We consider an account active if any amount of funds (or cryptocurrency) was credited at least once.

You can pay (a development donation of sorts) and vote unlimited times, this speeds up the process of coin implementation. Choose the desired amount of votes for your coin and press the vote button. The price of one PAID vote is 0.0001 BTC. Ensure that you have the required amount of BTC in your balance before voting."

got it started at 50 votes Wink

Thank you take_off, perfect timing actually!

Anyone else having problems finding their bitcoin address at http://www.elastic.pro/addresses ?  I put a small amount of btc towards this (because I don't trust ICOs anymore) and I can't find the bitcoin address associated with it in the search.  I did use a private address.

Hi,

well, the list was well meant but obviously badly done. We have to redo the voting site as you are not the only one who is confused.
In fact, the list has nothing to say as it only contains people wo have participated in the votes. People often confuse it with a list containing all people who have XEL. This is clearly not the case.

The only place to look for your XEL is in the official genesis block. I am 100% sure your transaction is included in the genesis block  Wink
https://github.com/elastic-project/genesis-block/blob/master/genesis-block.json

I will check it out.  Thank you!

*Edit* found it.  Thanks again!

You're welcome. Hope you'll stay with us during testnet!

Yeah I plan on compiling the miner and node to test it out.

A detailed report by the BCI (Blockchain for Creative Industries) working group based at the Middlesex University (UK) was recently published.
The document looks at projects dedicated to blockchain integration within the industry and questions the barriers to adoption, opportunities and wider implications. Such as:
Is the music industry too fractured and institutionalized to reach a consensus?
Should the emphasis be on standards, data integrity & metadata?
How much appetite and room is there for innovation?
Do the major labels have too much influence and potentially too much to lose with a more transparent system?

We believe that the potential benefits of using the blockchain will prevail but getting to that point could be a very rocky journey.

Nice to see this coin is still alive!

yup still alive and well.  A lot is going on behind the scenes as we gear up for the next phase of development.

OFFICIAL AUROVINE/AUDIOCOIN ANNOUNCEMENT

Over the past year Audiocoin has made several huge strides.  We successfully integrated our Audiocoin wallet into Aurovine, which allows musicians and fans to earn Audiocoin by purchasing and sharing music.

We created a proof of concept utilizing the colored coin system to provide smart contracts for the Joni Fuller shares.

Now it is time to put our proof of concepts together to build something never seen before.  We have identified multiple problem areas within the music industry.  However during the course of designing the upgraded system we found out that our concept can be widely adapted to more than just music.

Our system is designed to be an all-in-one solution for music, images and video.  By utilizing the blockchain’s best feature, its record keeping, we are able to decentralize not only file hosting, but we are also able to connect legacy systems APIs so they are able to come to a consensus in a much quicker time frame.

Current payment methods in use by the music industry are almost entirely manual. Because of this the royalty reconciliation factor is unwieldy and costly with processing taking nine months and longer.  By allowing these legacy systems to interact via our platform we not only significantly reduce settlement costs we also significantly speed up the payment process by limiting how much manual entry is required.  We believe we can get artists’ payment times down to a month or less.

We have also developed methods to provide revenue shares to fans who want to host music or files for their favorite artists’ all while getting rid of cloud hosting like AWS altogether.  The fans become the cloud! True interaction exists both on a financial as well as an exciting and innovative engagement potential between artists and fans. Ownership became an archaic term in a streaming environment but we have developed a smart contract system that introduces the concept of digital scarcity to bring super fans closer to the music and artists they love.

Aurovine now offers two distinct solutions:

Music Industry:
Our latest proof of concept system is the market leader umbrella solution for innovating legacy music industry processes whilst introducing ‘never seen before’ features to energize a stale, inefficient and fragmented framework.

The aurovine system will combine payment reconciliation, label smart contracts, fan revenue shares through various different methods such as fan file hosting, special album revenue shares and and various other methods for fan and artist engagement.  The fans now have a real stake in the success of their favorite artists!

SAAS Offering:
As mentioned above, we have been approached to develop blockchain solutions for other verticals and we are currently in negotiation with a number of large organisations to develop outright solutions or POC models on a contractual basis. We will announce these partnerships once each project commences.

New Partnership

Today we announce a partnership with Berlin based BigchainDB to develop a scaleable and robust storage and integrity framework based on an API integration with ADC.

This robust decentralized database is capable of 1 million read/write transactions per second.  It is akin to a decentralized SQL Database used by companies like Netflix and Amazon.  BigchainDB has devised a way to retain consensus at blistering fast speeds with linear speed increases the more people that join the network.  This will allow the Aurovine platform to perform our transactions faster than any current system is capable of and to scale as demand requires without bloating the Audiocoin chain!

Need some assistance.

I had to reboot my PC and perform some system maintenance, now my FCT balance is showing 0 and no transactions are listed.  I had 60 FCT in my wallet before I shut the wallet down and rebooted my system.  This didn't happen to any other altcoins I have.  I made no changes to the FCT wallet before this system maintenance either.  Any suggestions?
Factomd looks to be synching the chain block 38141 as of writing this but when I run the wallet app it shows 0.

*Update*

Fixed the issue, it was the Windows sync problem that happens from time to time.  Once it actually updated the chain it worked.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: April 10, 2016, 06:13:54 PM
What is "Milestone 2" ?
Today I bought some FCT but nothing know Tongue
And when price can rise more? its middle/long term or is possible short time ? When any important update or sosmething what I need know ??

the second update to the wallet and probably more.  If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about the price.  Get in now and ride the next wave up.  Can't give an exact timeframe but I'm also in FCT long term because the technology has a chance to revolutionize several different markets.

Is the wallet showing zero balance for the expected address, or is it not displaying the address at all?

If you know the addresses, check the balance on http://beta.explorer.factom.org/ or http://explorer.factom.org/

The address is correct and the BE shows the balance is correct as well.  I did a get height and found that the chain didn't sync at all.  The windows sync issue again it seems.  Will milestone 2 fix this problem?
