Why the github empty? where can i see development of the project?  Looks scammy

check this out Smiley

https://github.com/blockpool-io
Thank you.
As i can see that there is only forked ARK software everywhere, and also ICO's calendar (very useful to be honest).
But  where can i see the development of the project? Or why you just don't want to use the ARK's blockchain but cloning into your own if there is no difference between them? For what you need money? There is not so much info in your business plan about that.

Thanks.

Hello xfunk,

Development on the Blockpool testnet will be performed on https://github.com/blockpool-io.  We had a team meeting today and work will start on the chain very shortly, probably tomorrow or Monday at the very latest.  If you read through our business plan and whitepaper you will see that while the ARK chain is very nice, there are features we will need to build on top of it in order to meet our goals.  So while it is currently a clone of ARK, it won't remain like that for long.

Regards,
locohammerhead

@Blockpool - I sent you guys an email... ADC calculations are off on coinpayments.net... they were WAY off last night and are much better this morning, but still nowhere near 100sats per ADC or even the 7,000 ADC per TEC unit quoted on your ICO page.

Hi hypersire,

We are working on updates to the site to fix the calculations and to streamline the website.  I want to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

So, how many the maximum cap for this ico? It looks like a promising project regarding the successful of ark project. At least some people are doubt caused by this just another copy from ark but the dev has explained with rational roadmap and progress. This will be huge project in the future.

Hello,

We are utilizing a price discovery system.  When we were discussing potential methods we decided against a cap for several reasons.

1.  We didn't want to put an arbitrary price on the tokens. Over or under valuing the token could mean backlash from the community from both ends.  We want people to remain happy with their purchase.

2.  The market decides price and how successful the TEC will ultimately be.  By putting a cap and artificial price we not only limit our fundraising we also limit investors access access.  For example take a look at Golem sold out near instantly and lots of people were left out of their crowd fund.

3.  This method is a best case solution in our minds.  It allows access to everybody who hears about the TEC within the two month time frame and it doesn't limit us in our ability to raise crucial funds for development.

loco

I like this project
When will the source code be released?

Hey gigiua,

The source code can be found at https://github.com/blockpool-io

As of right now it's just a clone of ARK.  We will start configuring the chain to our settings once the TEC has begun.
clone of ark that is good i am in ARK has did me good i just am a little concerned it droping if this one will do the same but we will see good job explaining thanks

The price fluctuates for every altcoin in existence.  Once the price becomes too high, whales etc start to drop the price back down.  There is nothing the ARK team or any crypto team can do about it besides work our hardest to bring value to our respective projects.  However just like stocks crypto follows a pattern.  Once you figure out that pattern it gets easier to recognize what's happening.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.  Our business plan, whitepaper and other info is on blockpool.io if your interested.

isn't this another  LISK copy coin ,  seems very familiar ,  just like Lisk service the side chain  DAPP
Maybe you are right this could be why ark is the escrow to help lisk as is happening now with ark dropping.I feel sorry for the big buyers of ark lost lots as the price keeps dropping
Yes , so  many  coin  just  simply copy Lisk and  doing nothing good for it's own .  The only real  COIN is  Lisk , no need  so many  copy coins

eastwind_ja, I think you should take a look at what they're actually trying to do with BlockPool rather than just jump to conclusions about it being nothing more than another LSK clone, because it most certainly is not.

ok , got you , what is the new  feature  of  blockpool  ?  besided change the  Lisk side chain  app  to the new name of   P2P   solutions

Hey eastwind

This won't be just another clone.  ARK provided a perfect clean slate with junk LISK code stripped out.  The plan is to create our own sidechains that would interact with our separate platform.

Description of the platform:

There seems to be some confusion around this and I can see why there is.  Crypto for so long has been trying to do all or nothing solutions.  Place all the data into the chain, create wrappers around the chain etc.  Our platform will be totally independent from the chain but instead will work with the chain instead of expecting the chain to do everything.

We want to avoid bloat at all costs, so this means utilizing the blockchain for what it does best, permanent data retention.  Our talks with various businesses has revealed that they are still scared of the chain because they don't understand it.  Our platform is designed to allow businesses to migrate to the chain what they feel is appropriate.  Majority of data doesnt need to be placed into the chain but there is a significant call for an Enterprise Service Bus or digital router that would facilitate the communication between legacy software.  In several cases there are times where the legacy software is passing data that needs to be permanently retained.  For example revenue splits.  An artist uploads a song to a website and adds a partner musicians who worked on the music along side them.  The companies existing legacy software would collect the data, the Blockpool Data Agnostic Platform Plugin would determine which systems need to be involved and pass that data onto those systems APIs.

So the legacy system has collected the data and determined that the blockchain and system X (lets just assume this is a legacy banking system) need to be involved.  The business determined that they don't have a need for a cryptocurrency but wanted to keep their legacy banking system in tact.  The business would be using a sidechain with a very low token count that would never reach the public.  So this is a private sidechain.  In this case the token is used to trigger a smartcontract to represent the revenue splits.

A buyer purchases the music.  The legacy system collects the data and passes it along to the Blockchain Data Agnostic Platform plugin, which then says ok system X and the blockchain need to be involved.  The money paid by the purchaser is passed along to system X like it normally would be.  the legacy system then write to the chain that a purchase happened.  The chains plugin would then determine who needs to receive payment and will then signal system X to pay to person A and person B.

As you can see this is just a simple transaction for us but because of business requirements it has become more complex than it actually needs to be.  But that's ok.  The business wanted to do it this way.  They also have the option to wean themselves off of their legacy system and go mostly blockchain if they want to.

This platform is designed to give businesses a choice and customized solution that they normally would not have all while leaving the door open for them to progress further if they so choose.

The ARK team has done a great job of stripping out the LISK smart contract code and providing a clean platform to work from.  We have two options really.  Try to implement the new LISK 1.0.0 smart contracts, which I understand could potentially be a hassle due to how they are built.

LISK doesn't have a Smart Contract feature. Only Sidechains for JS-blockchain applications. It's different.

About Audiocoin. How will the donations be valued? By maximum price in the TEC period, by price on last day of the TEC or by price on a moment when transaction will come?

It was my understanding that all altcoins accepted for the TEC will be in real-time stats. ADC is being valued at 100 satoshi, unless it goes over that on the trading markets then a bonus percentage is included in the value of it, if I'm not mistaken.

That's correct stoner.

post within this thread weekly, or anywhere on bitcointalk? Isn't the intent of a signature campaign exposure on multiple threads, so if people only post here it does no good for the campaign, right?

You post around but check in on this thread once a week so we know who is still active.

LISK uses smart contracts to connect their sidechains they are packaged together.

seems like a good project and any project that forks ark had the advantage of Bridging compatibility in the future so we welcome all legit projects to the ecosystem.  With ARK, you can't build bridges without foundations to begin and end them on.  Cooperation is a huge untapped market in crypto.  Wink

It really is.  Imagine how much further along blockchain would be if people worked together instead of fighting all the time.

Our minimum amount is 100,000.  We do plan on refunding investors of the TEC if we don't reach the minimum goal.  The ARK Team is escrow so if we don't reach the minimum 100,000 the funds will be given back to the investors.  If we reach 350,000+ we have stretch goals set in place.  You can find our advanced funding tiers here: https://blockpool.io/docs/BP_PROCEEDS_A.pdf

You have mentioned min amount as $100K but in the PDF document you have provided link, the lowest amount mentioned is 500BTC ($500-600K). Please can you explained how can you go ahead with the project if the funding is less than 500BTC?

In the first page the list of directors/developers is around 8-9, are you guys planning to work free for a year till product is developed?

Hello,

The 100,000 is so we can get the full mainnet functioning with all current ARK features and to start work on the Smart Contract system.  The team has been working for free for the past year and half. So we will be taking a small cut while leaving more than enough to ensure developers are happy.  We are updating the Use of Proceeds document to show this.

locohammerhead

ARK, the first fork of Lisk, was founded in September 2016. That's 7 month ago. Can you tell us, what your team has been working on, 11 months before September 2016, if Blockpool is just a fork of a fork of Lisk?

Hi TheEscrow

Our original plan was to fork from LISK.  However throughout our research we were worried about their development progress.  At this time we had already started building business partnerships so the need for something that would work out of the box was a growing concern.  When we came into contact with the ARK team, it was the best of both worlds.  They had cleaned up the junk code from LISK and provided a stable platform faster than LISK did.  This provided a distinct advantage for BlockPool since we didn't need to put forth the effort to clean it up ourselves.  We can focus on building what we need to in order to fulfill business needs instead of focusing on stability issues.

What keeps you from using graphene (bitshares 2.0, steem, peerplays) as backend? 3 second blocks among other features are certainly better than what you mention in the op

Good question.  Several factors went into the decision to use ARK.  We did look at using graphene and while the system is very well developed, it took them a very long time and many hardforks to get to that point.  From a support perspective, hard forks are a nightmare to deal with.  Especially in a private business environment.

The 3 second block times are very nice and extremely useful for sectors like finance where 3 second or lower block times would be required in order to develop decentralized exchanges.  Most businesses don't require sub-second block times especially if the chain isn't being used as a catch all.  Another problem caused by sub-second block times is bloat.  Every block created adds bloat to the chain.  In most cases for our business partners, they would end up with empty blocks ultimately taking up space on their network since they don't have the data requirements to fill a block at those speeds.

The coding language and blockchain smart contract design was also taken into account and played heavily in our decision to use ARK.  Graphene is built in C and isn't built in an object oriented fashion.  ARK (a fork of LISK) was built in JS and was built in an object oriented fashion.  This allows us a wider range of options over the long term.  While JavaScript may not be the language of choice for the finance industry, in our case it was the best option because it's easier to support and we want to build our Data Agnostic Platform modular as well.  The ARK chain better supports our business model and overall is easier to adapt to real world businesses.

However that's not to say we won't be able to adapt the Bitshares chain to our Data Agnostic Platform if a viable use case comes along.  With the proper resources it probably is possible.

cannabanana, Hi! What can you say about the project BLOCKPOOL. Looks good, but I would like to know your opinion.

Hey Densityman!

I know you were asking cannabanana but I thought I'd weigh in a little bit. I'm one of the BlockPool team members.  Thank you so much for looking into our project and asking around about it.  I'm not going to provide an opinion (since that opinion would obviously be skewed due to my involvement) but I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have!
