121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: İs there any daily paying bounty ??? on: November 19, 2018, 12:52:23 PM
The bounties are becoming too small for being paid on a daily basis, so the overall fees, in that case, will be higher.

Besides, bounties want to make sure that they recruit high-quality posters and that they stay, If everyone was posting in a daily, get paid and leave, It could be chaotic and hard to manage.
122  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet 1.0 Is Released on: November 19, 2018, 09:38:44 AM
Very interesting project.

Has there been some code review by trusted parties/programmers etc.?

Will definitly keep an eye on this!
Thanks!

The wallet is not that new, It used to be called HiddenWallet and If you check the GitHub repository, you'll see the number of contributors, forks, stars etc. so the answer for your question is yes, this should be stable and safe to use If that's what you're asking.
123  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalCoin Visa Debit Card (Canada's First VISA Debit Card) on: November 19, 2018, 08:42:21 AM
No I believe it would be available to most countries. In the fees you can see a $1.00 for international POS. It may have been for their other services/funding with FIAT but I did see something about a 3% conversion fee as well.

I think the address part is a requirement regardless. It's 1 of the 3 things required no matter what.

Name-Address- Birthdate

Just saying though they do not require valid ID to back this information up.

That could actually be problematic in the future. I remember when we had e-coin.io before they rebranded to Wirexapp, they were actually doing the same and there was no need to back to send documents. In fact, when I said that my country is not supported, they hinted that I should use fake information's.

So, it may start like that but eventually, people might themselves in a position where they'll have to either provide their documents or have their funds locked.

124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange coin, the trend of ICO in Q3 2019? on: November 18, 2018, 05:51:27 PM
I think Binance started it and in my opinion, it will last forever for the simple reason that exchanges always have users regardless of the coins they have listed or how strong their userbase and for that, there will always be demand for these coins.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is RavenCoin coming to hardware wallets? on: November 18, 2018, 04:29:35 PM
Hardware wallets providers don't add coins based on anything except the userbase and the strong demand by the community and I don't think that's something Ravencoin has right now.

An alternative would be to run a Linux distribution on LiveCD, download the official wallet of ravencoin, export the private keys and print them. This should be a good solution assuming that you're storing for the long term.

126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockexploer on: November 18, 2018, 12:16:53 PM
How different is your coin though? I mean If it's just a copy of some popular coin then you'll definitely find open source blockexplorers out there that you could just setup after running your own full node.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Walleting.Services] AUTOMATIC Bitcoin Fork Claiming: BTG BCD BCX BTCP BIFI MBC on: November 17, 2018, 11:41:38 AM
Do you have any plans for Bitcoin Cash SV and ABC as well? more specifically for users with blockchain.com wallet so we could use seed instead of private keys
128  Economy / Speculation / Re: is currently the right time to buy bitcoin on: November 17, 2018, 07:33:03 AM
There is no definite answer, not everyone is in the same situation as you so you shouldn't look for financial advice in forums around the internet because everyone will give an advice based on their financial situation and not yours.

I personally see the current dip as a good time to buy, think of it as Black Friday with discounts, but for bitcoin but once again, If you're going to sell your assets just to buy bitcoin for example then that could be a bad idea because at the end of the day no one knows when It's going up or down or in other words, just buy what you can afford to lose.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can a trojan in a wallet do and how? on: November 17, 2018, 06:52:24 AM
Antiviruses might give you a certain level of protection but If someone really wants to hack you, he will.

Not every virus does the same thing but something made especially for crypto would copy-paste specific address so you send funds the hacker address (least complicated) or even worst, it could search for common type of files used in wallets such as wallet.aes.json, wallet.dat etc. and steal the files by sending them to a server elsewhere.

Having your wallet encrypted doesn't help either because If someone manages to do the above, be sure that you have a keylogger as well and your password is already compromised.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify a legit ICO from a scam? on: November 16, 2018, 03:09:41 PM
You read the whitepaper, you see the team behind the project. If it's something that has been done before multiple times and it didn't give any success (say a debit card for crypto) or you have the least doubt that they won't manage to deliver, simply don't invest.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid MEW Phishing on: November 16, 2018, 01:14:36 PM
What is the main difference between mycrypto and myetherwallet? Both are online wallets, so how could you avoid phishing on some other online website?

Phishing is when hackers buy a domain name that looks similar to the original one and also make the web page looks the same and they try to make you upload your wallet file there and put your password etc.

I don't think MyCrypto could be considered as an online wallet because your info is not stored there but my point is, MyCrypto looks different and the domain name is somehow different and short and hard to find similar to it and until now, I haven't seen phishing attempts targeting it so it could be much safer to use that for now.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone explain this mess to me? on: November 16, 2018, 11:52:25 AM
These forks must have their official wallets, something similar to bitcoin core, just use that and import your private keys and you should be fine.

A lot of exchanges has suspended deposits and withdrawal for Bitcoin cash so the price you're currently seeing is the last update before the suspension occurred I believe.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Magnum grants Tezos community a solution for easy delegating on: November 16, 2018, 08:14:13 AM

Apparently not, the link you gave me clearly states that I have to go through the verification process which in this case I'm not willing to do.
134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Craig Wright, Roger Ver and others on the btc price crash on: November 15, 2018, 01:40:53 PM
We all know that he's not the real Satoshi and this has been proven so many times, clearly a scammer.

What I'm wondering about is what is he expecting from these statements though? If someone believes that he actually did or could do this to bitcoin, why would anyone trust him and use his coin? because he's clearly not someone who should be put in a position of power.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoind requests on: November 15, 2018, 11:59:33 AM
I thought that bitcoind is the right thing to use because I assumed that most of the exchanges, blockexplorer out there use it. If they don't use that and not bitcore either, what do they use then?
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Scammer Can affect the ETH price. on: November 15, 2018, 09:46:28 AM
This is actually a very valid statement and sadly, it's valid for a lot of projects out there. They clearly don't do it to drop the price because they don't really care about that.

But mainly because they don't want to be traced or the address being flagged or something so they just move to fiat as soon as possible and live a good life afterwards.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to sell ERC20 to customer with credit card on: November 14, 2018, 06:56:31 PM
I don't think any of the suggestions you suggested would work. Coinbase is pretty limited and I'm pretty sure they offer their services for accepting credit cards.

As for the second option, then I believe that's more for people who are going to run an ICO and who own the contracts etc.

I honestly don't suggest with this unless you know what you're doing. Either make your own smart contract and use a third party payment processor for accepting payments assuming that you have the knowledge to do it or hire someone to do it.

Even though, I don't see why would anyone take such a risk. It's very known that ERC20 tokens or crypto in general are irreversible while that cannot be said about credit cards.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger Live to Ledger nano S on: November 14, 2018, 06:05:20 PM
Ledger Live is the software used to interact with Ledger nano S. If you have funds inside Ledger live then it means they are inside the hardware wallet as well.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Avoid MEW Phishing on: November 14, 2018, 01:40:29 PM
It's really simple. Use MyCrypto instead of Myetherwallet. It's made by the same team, It looks the same and it has more improvements so there is no reason why you wouldn't use it.

I haven't seen a single phishing attempt yet targeting Mycrypto, most likely because hackers are not really aware of it as of now as not many people use it. Either way, the domain name is shorter so It's unlikely that you'll fall it.
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOW CAN BITCOIN BE ACCEPTED TO BE USED AS A PAYMENT METHOD GLOBALLY? on: November 14, 2018, 11:37:07 AM
I think it has more to do with the confirmation time, so for now, without the lightning network, it's not really that convenient. I don't think people want to wait for anything above 15 minutes to get their food for example.

Besides that, the price is more stable than it ever was. We're in the 6200-6400$ range since a few weeks now. These are businesses, they take risks all the time so I honestly don't buy it If they say that they're not accepting bitcoin because of the volatility. If you take Overstock for example, they're keeping 50% of the bitcoins while selling the other half for fiat to limit their losses If any.
