That's a huge amount. What do you offer as collateral ? You probably know no body will loan you if you don't offer a collateral. By the way, I guess it would be a first step to sign a message with one of the old adress used on the forum. It would prove you are the owner of this account. |

Honestly, I don't know why Bitcoin is still growing... there are already lots of good alternatives to Bitcoin, but bitcoin is still going ahead in the race. I do believe this is because the Bitcoin network is still the biggest and most powerful network. However this will change in the future
it's the network effect and media you know first move advantage when everyone is into bitcoin than they'll find another coin like yahoo -> google myspace -> facebook Yeah it probably is. I also assume some people just don't like altcoins because they are (most of them) "copycat" and because they contribute to "dill" the network, the investmentss and the public interest bitcoin could have if it was alone. |

I've put my money in the Genesis-mining.com about 1 year ago, but I haven't been turnover, the thing that makes me curious is, why when the price rises, then the result is bitcoin down? can you explain this.

You should be!!! We already saw what bitcoin can do. Some already change thier lives because of bitcoin. And im waiting for bitcoin to change my life too. Hoping that my country will not ban bitcoin.
Every bitcoin fan has the same feeling that one day government will ban bitcoin. Some people are not in a deciding position whether to believe it or not. Completely half minded, after investing what will happen to bitcoin, inner fear we cannot erase. Except switzerland :-) They are quite bitcoin-friendly at the moment. And I guess it's becoming such a big business it will soon be impossible to ban. There's already a lot of invested money and it's creating jobs. |

The mining difficulty made a huge leap on the last day, so I would avoid any cloud mining service. Yes, and I've sold all my S7 hashpower today at Hashnest. That's the point of Hashnest and that's how you can make profit: buy hashpower -> let it work and earn 0.3-0.5% daily for you -> sell hashpower. Hashnest is the only (or almost only) cloudmining company you can make profit with (by selling your hashpower). But it's not so easy, and you won't get rich using it so I don't say it's a safe bet investing here. I'm more a "buy and hold your bitcoins" guy. |

JP Petit et Alain Madelin n'ont pas bien compris ce qu'est le bitcoin. JM Daniel (un polytechnicien pourtant) compare le bitcoin à la tulipe hollandaise !!! Seul Nicolas Doze semble surnager. Excellent tout ça ! Au fur et à mesure que les gens vont comprendre ce qu'est le bitcoin, sa valeur devrait augmenter. Pour le moment, les gens n'ont pas encore compris. La marge de progression du btc est donc énorme. Hmmm... Je suis pas chaud avec cette nouvelle... Le problème c'est que quand le bitcoin commence a être évoqué sur les medias... Ben ça crée une espèce d'effet de mode! Et c'est probablement le plus grand danger de la monnaie. Le souci c'est quand plein de gens entendent parler du btc mais sans vraiment comprendre ce que c'est ni à quoi ça sert. Et des fois ils en achètent un peu sans vraiment comprendre les dangers liés à l'achat simplement pour profiter de la montée du prix. Et la seule conséquence possible c'est une chute des prix... Ou pas. Perso j'ai entendu parlé du bitcoin lorsqu'il est monté à 1000 frs pour la première fois (justement au travers des médias mainstream). Je me suis mis à lire, à surveiller le cours, et j'ai acheté quelques bitcoins quand le prix était bas. J'ai aussi fait mes expériences (que ce soit le cloudmining, la découverte des ponzis, etc..). A mon avis c'est vraiment le meilleur (et le seul) moyen d'augmenter efficacement le nombre d'utilisateurs. |

Il te faudra surtout prévoir de l'argent si tu veux que ton altcoin ait un minimum de popularité. Prévoir un site web, manager un thread sur le forum, éventuellement faire des campagnes via les signatures du forum etc...
(Si tu bosses dans l'informatique, que tu sais coder, etc ça te coûtera évidemment beaucoup moins cher)

Your, Glucose´s, Suchmoon´s and dhampir-D´s advise, and further research, have convinced me of NOT INVESTING any buck IN GENESIS-MINING.COM.. Though im really a newbie, also common sense has told, that they certainly dont care about their reputation, but do care a lot about throwing out their fu cked up "live-lasting" - contracts, that are only profitabel for themselves, as they clame on their website.: "Why mining with us is profitabel?" They´ve forgot about to add the:"...is profitabel for us?", in that sentence.
So, im really thankful towards yours, that this warning thread exists, and that youre keeping it alive! It eally isnt easy, to chose a proper cloud-mining company, finding your way, through them well positioned paid google-listings, to some honest and objective reviews.. Lots of thanks!

Until yet, i havent signed any cloud-mining contract with any company at all. Thats why i was pro GM at first glance, just out of ignorance, believing a "western" company couldnt be scamm, and the asian ones, would be scamm straight through. But now i guess, its completely vice versa;) But now ive got some general questions about them. Can i put them in here, or just into another thread? Some like, is Hashnest a part of, or integerated into Antpool? Sorry, to ask them right here.
I want to invest $ 5.000 for my mother, and im busy reading for the last 4 or 5 days. Is cloud-mining bitcoins, with automatically repurchase (like e.g. hashnest offers it), supposing a steady or rising bitcoin exchange-rate, the better choice for a time horizon of 3 - 10 years, instead of just buying and holding bitcoins?
The answer almost everyone gives is of course, just hold bitcoins. Its lets risky, and so on. But, for me it doesnt matter, if its lets risky. For me its just important to know, is bitcoin mining with a serious company, with the factors i mentioned above, more profitabel on a long timeframe, than holding bitcoins? Or, are $ 5.000 not worth mining at all?

Hi Letsbehonest. Glad to see you made further research and changed your mind. You don't need to delete your posts :-) I'm not a bitcoin mining specialist but I think Antpool is just the name of the mining pool used by Hashnest. So the company name is Hashnest and the mining pool name is Antpool (don't ask me why, I don't know!). It means you can verify how many blocks they are mining etc. People give you the answer "buy and hold" because the only risk you are taking is to see the bitcoin price going down or crashing, and a lot of people believe bitcoin will be priced much more in a few years than it is today). If you invest in Hashnest, you will probably inscrease the number of bitcoins you have (5 BTC ==> 5.05 BTC ==> 5.1 BTC, etc...) but it takes a lot of time and you are also taking the risk of seeing your bitcoins disappear (1) if the network difficulty goes too high and if there is no more profitability your hashnest contract will be suspended, (2)if Hahsnest goes bankrupt. What is quite sure from my point of view : I will NEVER invest 100% of what I have in bitcoin mining. I guess the wiser choice is to invest part of it (what you can lose), and buy and hold the rest of it (what you don't want to lose) |

Le cloud mining est une arnaque pas de doute.
par contre tu me fais un peu rire:
"on va monter un cloud miner beaucoup plus juste, par exemple on coupera un contrat à vie qu'après 40 jours de non rentabilité"
Et genre garder un contrat à vie... à vie? Non?
Faut pas essayer de passer pour un gentil quand on fait pareil que les autres hein ^^
Moi ce qui m'énerve c'est que très peu de gens mettent un feedback negatif aux animateurs de ces plateforme sur le forum. Ok l'arnaque est connue des plus anciens mais pour les noobies qui débarquent c'est très très loin d'être évident. Genesis Mining par exemple se ballade tranquillement avec une réputation quasi neutre. Il y a un réel manque d'implication de la part des personnes qui pourraient être influentes (celles qui sont sur la trust liste par exemple). |

Furthermore, you dont know who was and is contributing here in this thread. So much effort, that many posts, from one and the same member, lets me assume, that this could be some jealous competitors themselves, trying hardly to create a bad company reputation on Genesis-Mining.
Time will tell, who is right or wrong. Until then, my mines keep mining on.
My view. Many having had a short term horizon, will argue in the long term then.
Yeah, you're right I'm a jealous competitor Let me laugh. The main problem is not their lack of transparency but the fact they are not profitable. If you want to prove me wrong you can buy a small contract and show me your profit. Reality is you will get back approximatively 30% of what you paid. It's not about investing when bitcoin is low or high or whatever. Genesis mining contracts are NOT profitable, NEVER. You are paying them, they won't pay you back half of what you paid because the fees they are taking are huge. As I said In my first post, I firstly was a GM customer. When I asked for a refund, they refused. I said to their support team I would open a scam accusation thread and spread awareness about them. Now, almost one and a half year later, I don't care to lose 10 minutes every week managing this thread. I'll keep doing it if it can save some people their money. I'll do my best to ruin this company but I don't need to be a jealous competitor to do so, trust me. If you really want you can buy a contract and then you will join me in the fight |

BTC hasn't hold 900$ . It's not a good for BTC holder , and a clear bear signal should came if price will go under 850. If so, we could expect a fist round near 820 and then a test at 800$ area. If doesn't hold 800$, we could see new montly low. Only after 900$ we could say that market trend is bull again.
Maybe it's going down but it's not crashing. Bitcoin was 500$ just a few month ago. We all have to take that into account. Bitcoin price has been going up for months and was going up way too fast. It's quite logical it will go down now for sometime before rallying again. |

 I am really disappointed by badbitcoin.org website. Badbitcoin.org recommends Genesis Mining for mining bitcoins. As far as I am concerned, Genesis Mining is the biggest scammer in the bitcoin industry. So these guys have essentially sold their souls to make a quick buck or keep their website afloat. The action of endorsing and promoting Genesis Mining defeats the purpose of the website, which is to save investors from bitcoin mining scams. They are essentially saving investors from crocodiles, only to feed a big shark. Well, I guess the best we can do is to find a way to spread the word to the bitcoin community. Warn the community that the best bitcoin scams watchdog on the net is also promoting a scam, so they should watch out. Yeah that's a shame and I can't understand why they are doing this. They are probably being paid by GM for doing so. Btw don't forget to put a negative trust on Genesis Mining profile. |

The main problem of what you are asking for is : what happens if the information you give is wrong ? If I understand you well, the potential lender will make the bet. If it's a losing bet the lender will be the one losing money because your information was wrong. |

I guess Hashnest is still the better one and they are really mining. Give it a try if you want. But you won't become rich with cloud mining anyway. So instead you could buy bitcoin and hold them. |
