If you have less than 1000 coins, can you still stake ZCoin?
There is no Proof-of-Stake in Zcoin. For that you might look at other coins such as Peercoin, where the whole idea was conceived.

Znodes don't increase the money supply by staking, they only redistribute the usual 50 XZC block rewards (thus making the rich even richer, to put it bluntly).

I thought Znodes adds new money to total supply but reducing the miners cut by %33 was discouraging.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: December 24, 2017, 03:09:42 PM
The block reward fell from 40 to 28, so -30% profits...

15 XZC goes to znodes?
125  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalBitcoins fee's on: December 23, 2017, 01:56:48 AM

This is bullshit. %7 deposit fee?

I think it is a fixed amount regardless of how much you deposit but indeed, They are charging me around $15 at current rates for every deposit I make, which sucks.

Can't believe more people are not concerned about this, I mean.. Deposit fee? Makes absolutely no sense to me lol.

Indeed, it's quite absurd.

Just as a contrast.. Poloniex charges you NOTHING for depositing and they only charge you 0.0002BTC for a withdraw. Ha..

Localbitcoins vs any other exchange comparison is not a healthy one, in my opinion. They are totally different.

Even though I dislike their deposit fee a lot, currently they got the most liquid platform for BTC to Fiat.

This. Much needed!

Currently all topics are filled with nonsense comments coming from sig spammers. Too many of them right now.

Banning account sales wouldn't bring a solution to problem, I believe. People would still sell accounts to each other in different platforms.

Signurate campaigns itself is the biggest problem. Their working model. I mean, "add our signature and spam other threads, maybe one or two clicks to your signurate" what kind of a model is that?

Hello all,

Anyone mining XZC on a pool other than MPH? I am looking for an alternative and cannot find any, at least to my knowledge Smiley

Thank you for your time

Any miner with a little mind would know that mining at other pools is going to kill the profit. Why would you wanna mine at a different pool?

This coin looks good. I will maybe invest on it next month if i will have enough money. The zerocoin is already implemented? I mean we can send coins and be untracked?
it really is a nice coin.i miss it when the price is low.it is expensive for me now.i will find next coin.

Zcoin is better than ZCash. If zcoin's marketcap reaches zcash's marketcap (And I think it can happend), then the zcoin price will be $300.

The price still low....

How can you be sure it is? From a technical standpoint? ZCash people would probably argue the contrary.
XZC is a dark horse in the anonymous domain, I think it is very underrated, but I do not think it is better than ZCASH, both of them have their own advantages

You mean Katy Perry Dark Horse or dark horse dark horse?

*update:
My hypothesis does not seem very valid. The trading volume and intra-day prices for 1ST on OKEX are below the Bittrex's for both BTC and ETH pairs.
I still can't understand the reason 1ST was under maintenance on Bittrex for 2-3 days. It's an ERC20 token and does not require wallet upgrades/blockchain sync, as independent coins do.

My first hypothesis would be;

If the wallet has been in under maintenance for 3 straight days, that means no new coin can come in and traders have to trade with that very limited supply.

Second;

Delisting might be coming. It's known that after bittrex announces delisting of a coin, it gets pumped for one last time. Of course there is no such a thing that 1ST will be delisted but if someone got the news before anyone else, this pump might be a goodbye to 1ST.

Third;

If you look at closely to Bittrex chart, you will see the flash crash. Someone dumped from 5K sat to 111 sat. That's a crash. Someone might have picked up coins from dead cheap prices, pump it more to get more Bitcoin.

Another perspective would be one desperate 1ST holder, saw that wallet in maintenance mode for 3 days and decided to dump it.

I would go with the third option.

Couple times this happened, it seems like they charge about %7 off what you deposit. Why tf there is a deposit fee?

Team Zcoin announced the transition to Merkle Tree Proof (MTP) - a new, based on the principle of proof-of-work, the algorithm. Using MTP will increase the security and performance of the system: the miners will be able to quickly find new blocks.
More information: https://hashtelegraph.com/2017/07/11/platforma-zcoin-poluchila-novyj-algoritm/ Wink

That already implemented I believe(since MTP was the first step of roadmap for 2017). Correct me if I'm wrong tho.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Slimcoin | First Proof of Burn currency | New v0.5.1 binaries on: December 10, 2017, 04:26:18 PM
Well, I have posted my "personal roadmap" just a few days (1-2 weeks) ago Wink

For me, obviously the plan should be to be used "as a currency" and to complete gjhiggins' idea to use Slimcoin as a tool for decentralized publishing.

The dependance on centralized exchanges is however a problem. And the current "altcoin culture" favours business-like altcoins with a strictly centralized structure.

I however would like to continue following the Bitcoin model. They have no "boss", but they can have plans, like e.g. Segwit, via their BIP system. But their model is harder to follow for a small altcoin like Slimcoin, that's true, than if we had a "big boss dev".

About exchanges: I read in the Cryptonite thread that AEX is maybe too strict with its requirements; they are about to delist XCN. They mentioned stocks.exchange as a possible alternative. I however haven't ready anything about how to apply to get listed there.

My dream would be an exchange that concentrates on "innovative altcoins" or "unique altcoins". That would be also an item of my idea to form an "unique altcoin group". SuperNET had initially a similar idea, but they have become a closed group as far as I know. Such an initiative must however generate some buzz to be successful, so it would mean a lot of work with PR and communication. I first want to finish my web2web prototype ... and the website, as you insist so much on it ...

I don't know about the exchange but P2P dev model, no premine, proof-of-burn all interesting concepts for an altcoin. Truly interesting.

Yet, I would argue on exchanges because what's important now is;

1. Building a solid community
2. Creating a desire point
3. Creating a demand

Solid community full of developers, thinkers will lead to spark good ideas all the time, which it's the crucial part of Slimcoin because it's P2P developing nature. Desire point means giving incentives to traders, miners basically something to attract buyers/sellers and miners.

Soon as community grows, problems will find it's way to surface. Which problems here should not be seen as "bad things" because problems what makes coins, humans, basically everything to take a step forward.

....
Update;

Seems like using ccminer-2.2.2 worked. ./build.sh finished without any problem.

But this time I'm not getting any "yes" or share submitted thing. I mine for hours and hours and no share gets submitted. Where I might be doing wrong this time?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=826901.msg11654778#msg11654778 > This guy had the same problem I have right now and seems like he solved it. On the other hand I get 70 Mh/s for Lyra, where I supposed to get XXX-XXXX Kh/s.
I think your card is slow and producing stale shares. Make sure you don't use any 'static-diff' or nicehash stratum ports. Just go for the small diff./vardiff stratum (maybe even CPU ports). Also you could add the "--submit-stale" switch (depends on pool if it is accepted or not).

Thank you, I did the way you said. It's currently running but I don't expect it to submit any shares. I think the problem is more related to ccminer or the card itself, it does this only for Lyra algorithm.

I supposed to get 1000 Kh/s(1 Mh/s) or even much much less but miner shows me 69-70 Mh/s, that's where the problem is.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.2.2 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: November 29, 2017, 09:30:07 AM
I have an old card and I'm trying to mine Lyra coin and somehow while building with Makefile.am, I'm doing something wrong.

So when I open Makefile.am at Ubuntu 16.04 and I put this; nvcc_ARCH = -gencode=arch=compute_35,code="sm_37,compute_35" and uncomment others.

And then when I try to build I get this;

nvcc fatal   : 'compute_35' is not in 'keyword=value' format
Makefile:2665: recipe for target 'equi/cuda_equi.o' failed
make[2]: *** [equi/cuda_equi.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/maxo/ccminer'
Makefile:2197: recipe for target 'all-recursive' failed
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/maxo/ccminer'
Makefile:652: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 2

I tried CUDA 7.5, 8.0 same error, same error.
Did you back-tick the "'s?  It's concat'ed together.

Code:
-gencode=arch=compute_35,code=\"sm_37,compute_35\"

I added back-tick and I thought it worked but this time I get this;

Makefile:2665: recipe for target 'Algo256/cuda_groestl256.o' failed
make[2]: *** [Algo256/cuda_groestl256.o] Error 137
