121  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Liberty Payout (lrp) and wallet.dat exploit on: December 22, 2012, 10:50:40 AM
While I do feel bad about furrycoat, and your history of being scammed. I did not scam you. Anyway my wallet.dat WAS corrupted and it is not hostile. I had to go jumping from nick, to nick which makes people even more weary of my "scamming". But it's because I had enroll on my nick so unless i auth'd it would boot me.

Then why were you using 'Azephur_' as a nick? Pretty hard to jump from nick to nick and claim innocence especially when the nicks involved are respected OTC members.

There was a point where I was under the impression azelphur had screwed me over. Let me explain the reasoning:

With my issues on OTC it kept telling me my password was wrong, on top of that I had bottles whom I have never met claiming I scammed him. I then assumed that it was Azel that had used the wallet.dat I had sent him a few weeks ago and had been scamming in my name. Far fetched? Maybe. Regardless Aethro than helped me recover my password and reset my OTC key.

Before I had reset this data, when I kept getting my password wrong, OTC stopped letting me use my nick. Kept giving me the unavailable error. So I decided to try a new nick, Azelphur's was simply the first one to come to mind. I spent a total of about 3 seconds on it before I went back, to trying to recover my own nick.

I'm going to go do other things with my life. I'll be back, try not to contact Obama while I'm gone.

So you're leaving for a while with everyones BTC/cash?

I've had it for a while and no harm has come to it, so until they return. Yes.

Unfortunately, I trusted this guy because of his few good ratings (he was using the name LRP at the time, which it turns out is one of many names he uses.) I was new to #bitcoin-otc, and like a complete moron I sent him 73 bitcoins, almost $1000 worth. Should have held out for someone with a better rating.

The Transaction (blockchain.info)

Two days later he starts getting all these bad ratings. He'll probably come back under a new name.

#bitcoin-otc Nick History

You can see his history of names there. Looks like he's too stupid to change his IP address between nick changes, leaving a lot of potentially useful history.

He claimed on Monday he would be sending the money as cash-in-the-mail to my PO box on Tuesday (yesterday). Still hoping this is all some big misunderstanding and my cash will show up, though very unlikely at this point.

Hey man, I apologize I know how weary you were when trading. My OTC disconnected and I didn't have logs. When I came to get your address I couldn't find your nick. But now you can PM me here.

I was asked my opinion on LRP through email. He's slow to respond, and as before, I've advised the use of Escrow. Can't help you get your money back, sorry.

This, I tend to be a little slow when it comes to keeping up with the internet and my own life.

I have nothing to hide by changing my IP. My wallat.dat was corrupt so I was unable to auth for a while, hence the nickname changes. I'm not sure if you can see message history on OTC but I never tried to impersonate anyone. Seitsu, my OTC disconnected and when I came back to get your address again I couldn't not find you. In addition to that it's been a busy week. Furrycoat, I'm not sure you can check transaction logs on your prepaid but I suggest you do, I held your card for days and not a dime went missing. As soon as I go missing for three days I'm being accused of scamming half of the OTC?

I will accept BTC if you send $1006 USD worth of BTC ($6 to cover my 0.06% mtgox fee to convert BTC to USD) at the going MtGox Instant 13.24 USD/BTC price (75.982 BTC). Please check the MtGox Rate at time of sending.

I am willing to accept no more than a $10 USD loss, so by the time MtGox gets the BTC in account and I do the instant conversation if I have less than $990 USD then I expect more BTC to be sent to make up for the difference. From sending to conversation takes 15-30 minutes and all you need is a 0.1 USD/BTC loss for it to lose $10 worth of value.

If that is acceptable, please check your PM for my direct MtGOx Deposit address and send ASAP.

All I want is $1000 USD MtGox back (not apparent $1000 USD worth of BTC) if the deal cannot go through.

Ill adress this when i get home.

He's declined my btc proposal and i dont personally own an mtgox account to generate the code. Proposals anyone? I'm not hiding anything but people are getting the wrong ideas for a situation pending settlement on the complainer's behalf. I've already got some random guy in irc calling me a scammer for currency I dont deal in. This thread has made me vulnerable and people are already taking advantage.

I wasn't online. I ask that you excuse the delay as my partner is Jewish and was busy on the last day of Hanukkah. I see I have outstepped my timeframe and would be more than happy to send you a refund via btc. Send your address.

It seems like the photos are out of focus.

Hello everyone. My Wallet.dat wants to be opened by VLC. Not sure why. I have some coins and my wallet saved on a thumbdrive. Last time i started it up I'm pretty sure the funds were in there. In fact. I deleted my wallet, set up a new one and it was like I hadn't deleted my first wallet. It had the transaction history and all. I just plugged that thumb n after a few months and naturally it took some time to catch up. It isn't seeing my coins tho. I cant import my wallet.dat. I have the file. Can someone explain what I should be doing?

What's your skype?

Seems like my submission died. The answer was Sweet Caroline by Neal Diamond.

Explanation of imges:

Neal Caffrey- Shares the first name of Neal Diamond
Good Times- "Good times have never felt this good"
Woman Groaning- "Oh,Oh,Oh"
Diamond- Neal's Last name
South Carolina State flage and outline- S.C for Sweet Caroline and Carolina as a hint.

I thinks it nice if we explain our reasoning behind the clues. Just for the satisfaction of curiosity.

How do I buy bitcoin with a credit card?
How much are you looking to buy, where are you located. These are important.
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: UK options for BTC to GBP on: December 02, 2012, 10:46:48 AM
Thanks for the suggestions. I have looked at local bitcoins but its quite a journey to travel to any traders nearby.

Xoom.com, many people are willing to use that to send you money.

It's sort of like a wild tiger came crashing in through our kitchen window, growled at everyone eating dinner, and then dashed out the front door disappearing into the wilderness.  We can all talk about the details of what just happened, but the tiger is long gone and really doesn't care what any of us say about it.

I doubt anyone will do 1:1 for this, I would try finding an exchanger and using WU online?
