121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The used of Bitcoin in Africa on: June 20, 2019, 10:13:43 AM

Countries in the continent africa is embracing the blockchain technology and Bitcoin in their masses. In some countries the government of the day are showing some kind of support or interest fo :)r the new technology while others are advising their citizens not to use the cryptocurrency due to fear of fraudulent activities. I have taken my time, done some research plus the little knowledge I already have, made this thread to highlight the three ways Bitcoin is been used in Africa. They include;

[1]: Trading and investment:
Most citizens of countries in Africa like Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kanye, South Africa etc have turned to Bitcoin as their recuse from poverty and others to increase their asset portfolio. According to the report carried out in August 2018, five (5) Africa countries where ranked among the Top 50 highest traders of Bitcoin on Localbitcoin exchange namely;
7. Nigeria – $258M
10. South Africa – $98M
23. Kenya – $25M
36. Morocco -- $6M
43. Tanzania -- $2M
Source

Note: This is just a statistics from one exchange, we have numerous exchange both locally and international that Africans are trading on and that's just one of the ways Bitcoin (cryptocurrency in general) is been used in Africa.

[2] Online shopping:
The number of cryptocurrency related online shops is raising daily mostly in South Africa and Nigeria. Africans can now buy goods online from the comfort of their home and pay with bitcoin. Physical store are also joining the party, In 2017 one of South Africans biggest grocery stores called Pick n Pay showed interest in accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment we also have numerous merchant already accepting Bitcoin and few of them can be found here, Merchants Accepting bitcoins for Payment in Africa

[3]: Online transaction (money transfer):
Any one familiar with Africans knows we're migraters, there isn't any part of the world you'll go that you won't find Africans in their number, majority of the times it's the hustle that take them there. Many Africans leave their country for search of greener pastures in Western countries and when they succeed they always struggled to send money back to their families but with the help of Bitcoin everything has changed as sending money is now made easier, cheaper, faster and more secured. The luno wallet/exchange is one of the many platforms used for that purpose as it make it easier to convert Bitcoin to local currency.

If you're a blockchain developer and you were looking for the next regional area to get potential customer for whatever service you're providing I suggest you join the few companies tapping the potential found in Africa.

Here are some useful article you can read to convince you more;
Why Africa Is Fertile Ground for Bitcoin Adoption
Top 5 African Countries That Are Embracing Bitcoin

this was one of the reasons i invested in crypto in the first place, becuse i was told it was one of satoshis visions to level the playing field with a new currency so africa and other poor continents and countries could invest in something new to get a new chance at getting out of poverty.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The longer you play poker the better you become ? on: June 18, 2019, 10:01:44 AM
What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?
Maybe, experience is the best learning. Anyway, poker is not only for professional players. It does not require a lot of time just to win, it needs skills and luck. Even if you are too old in the poker game, if the luck is not in your hands, you will ne win. But poker also needs to be professional in appearance as well as movement so that you can avoid to be showed your play by observant players.

the luck factor is a huge part from seasion to seasion, but over the long haul if u win 52% of the times you will be a winner, but alot of people think you can win every time you play and that wrong, even pro players go on long losing streaks that can last months.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I saw the notice that Bitcoin surpassed 9.000 USD! Help about "FOMO" on: June 18, 2019, 09:57:47 AM
Hi there... I saw the notice that Bitcoin surpassed 9.000 USD!

I know the ideal was to have bought in past, in "low" price to sell now in the "high" price... But, I'm entering in Cryptocurrency exactly now and I feeling "FOMO"....

My main goal is to do "Holding" of Bitcoin and good Cryptos, but in this moment I would like to take some of the profits to redeem in my wallet to already help in future "Hold".

As I am starting now, I want to know your suggestions, because I intend to invest now to take advantage of some of the gains from this high...

Calculating risks ...

1. I think buy Bitcoin in 19/06/2019
2. Keep following closely the gains and notices about Bitcoin...
3. Constantly transfer just the profits of BTC to my Bank Account(Fiat money) (to save, to avoid eventual losses on "correction" of the market).

That's a good idea??

What do you think? What would be more appropriate to do to take advantage of this momentum?

Sorry the bad english, I'm from Brazil.  Roll Eyes

think like this, it usualy dips back down after a move up, i dont know how many times i bought at the top just to watch it fall down half of what it gained and stay there for 2 weeks before it moves back up to the price i bought, so just wait and chill it will go back down some, maybe not today but it will.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver's Bitcoin.com propaganda against bitcoin on: June 17, 2019, 01:23:33 PM
Here is the last attempt of negative propaganda against Bitcoin from Roger Ver's Bitcoin.com

is obvious that their bcash shitcoin is dying with a small group of community, a shitcoin with zero usage(even Dogecoin have x10 more usage than this), with empty blocks(most blocks not have even 100kb) and with small group of devs that no one want to donate them.
This propaganda are desperate actions from Roger Ver and have a zero impact to Bitcoin.

this has been a problem for awhile and still is a ongoing problem that a imposter is running bitcoin.com and ALOT of people visit it when they are new to btc and want to find out what it is. we have to keep on informing people that its a scammer running it and to stay away.

126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex coin, why not? on: June 17, 2019, 11:46:46 AM
Hi people, just wondering why Bittrex that is a very big exchange doesn't have its own coin like BNB or KCS.
Maybe there's a reason.

feels like the market has enough coins with over 1000+ of them , the market dont need more coins, what the market needs is coins that improves something real and not just promise things.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bull run due to Binance no longer serving US customers? on: June 16, 2019, 04:56:36 PM
Happy Sunday everyone!

I just came across this one: https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/06/15/bitcoin-price-jumps-above-8700-following-binance-us-closure/

Now we are sitting at $9,091 after breaching around $9,300 a few hours ago. Following the announcement of Binance not serving US customers anymore, is it possible that this is one of the reasons that made Bitcoin’s price go up as much as $9,300.

I know that this news isn’t the only factor that made Bitcoin’s price go up, but could this be a major reason nowadays?

I would love to hear some thoughts or opinions from the community regarding this one. No matter if it’s positive or negative, I would highly appreciate it. Cheers!

P.S. If I were a US customer, it’s not gonna impact me that much because there are lots of exchanges in the market, especially DEXs.

dont think it should have effected the price in a positive light , but i dont know, sometimes you dont know about crypto what will make the price go up or down, some news that u think will effect it negative has the opposite effect.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tom Schwarz vs. Tyson Fury TODAY! on: June 16, 2019, 02:19:34 PM
Tyson Fury is one hell of a fast moving heavy weight boxer. Seen some of his fights the guy is a monster. Even at his height he can avoid getting hit by over hear punch. There ain't not much boxer of their size that can move fast. His upper cut is the most furious. I don't know what Tom Schwarz can do but if I have the chance to bet its going to be Fury Tyson,

think tyson fury will take this also, this guy is incredible so fast he is a monster for sure, i think he will overpower tom
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: facebook bullshit stable coin, spread this as hard as you can... on: June 16, 2019, 01:01:56 PM
while facebook and other that fall to this trap like big companies at last apple and other giant companies stand with us...

and say its complete crap joke and in real its crap relative to smart people....other will fall to this trap for sure

but we all remember the creativity of zuck with poke idea and other shit he tried to make which was died very fast the same will be with this coins...

there out bots that spread all 0ver the web to stay away from this coin...and other channels that spread this info

in the end it will be like his idea p0ke on facebook which was dead after short time...

but still huge amounts of channels om twitter and youtube and other say to stay away from it

...

we knew this would happend , that some big companies would make their own shit coins to cash in on the whole crypto boom, and i think alot of "casual" crypto investors or first timers will fall for this bullshit and invest in them.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice to invest about crypto currency on: June 16, 2019, 10:43:59 AM
Most of the people think that bitcoin is the shortcut to be rich but its not that easy to make profit in bitcoin, there are a lot of of people losing money because buying at the wrong time, many people losing money in 2018 because the price keep on decline, before you invest in anything do the research find the useful source of information dont join investment because you saw someone succeed and just FOMO

its the same with stocks people put alot of their hard earned money into something they think will be free money , but most people lose money in the stock market over time s you have to have some knowledge of stocks and when to buy and when to sell, same wiht crypto.

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why my day job is making me depressed on: June 15, 2019, 11:05:32 PM
I have a full-time day job which makes me so depressed every day.  I just cannot handle 1 more day in my job.  The way that my day job makes me feel has forced me to look for alternative investment streams.  I really love investing in crypto.  I am an introverted person working in a highly extroverted roll, each day I am at work I am dying under the weight of extroverted people.  The noise and chaos that extroverted people spew out into the world makes introverted people highly stressed.

Trading cryptocurrency is a highly introverted job and that is what I love about it, you can do it from home, without the noise of extroverted people filling your mind with their toxic rubbish.

I am holding a significant amount of the altcoin called - HST decision token.  They are about to announce a significant client partnership on Monday 06.17.19

If HST goes to the moon and explodes in value, then I am resigning from my day job.

I pray that on Monday 17.06.19 that I can tell my boss where to shove her job.

This is my escape plan from my depressing day job: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/decision-token/

i feel you introvert brother, worked alot of job more suited for extroverts with alot of social interactions, and im exhausted each day just need alot of alone time all the time just to be able to handle my job.

133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you find Success in Gambling? on: June 14, 2019, 04:51:42 PM
I'm not good at gambling although I have occasional success, maybe this is a blessing in disguise, knowing you are not lucky in gambling will make you think that you should not allocate a big portion of your budget in gambling because your chances of winning are very low.

Yes, we have to gamble them on an ocassional basis in order to protect ourselves from the loos. Gambling seems to be a very easy way to make but after entering it will automatically attract and you will lose more money in Gambling. I never find any who is successful in gambling.

For many people they found gambling as a leisure so they are just putting a small amount or a portion of their income to it whatever the outcome its either win or lose they dont have to regret it.

There are some people who became rich thru gambling but ofcourse they need a huge capital before that success in gambling but one thing they cant resist is to comes back to gambling after all the success and in the end all the things thru gambling has been fade away because most of them are selling it in belief that they can recover.

like me i lost more then i won by far, but won big sometime and it was fun, but would never use gambling as any for of getting money. i mostly play becuse its fun.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: June 14, 2019, 04:45:04 PM
I still can't believe how great the raptors odds were, I mean you are talking about the NBA champions as of right now so I can look back and talk shit about the sportsbooks and I am super happy since I bet on raptors and won so I am not complaining at all, sportsbooks believed warriors will win this incredibly hard and didn't give a decent odd for warriors which made it super useless to bet on warriors since who would want to bet on warriors without Durant for low odds with that much risk and they would be right since raptors already won so we know they were right.

Raptors on the other hand, without Durant warriors looked beatable, put Klay not playing on the last quarter on top of that and they literally had a simple job after that even though it came down to last second. I thank all sportsbooks that give me these good odds for raptors, I know you guys lot a lot of money but I still like you Cheesy.

ya only take the money and say thanks the odds been great for rapotors all finals. guess the oddsmakers did not believe the upset and they were wrong! Cheesy congrats raptors!
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Justin Bieber VS Tom Cruise - UFC Fight on: June 14, 2019, 04:43:09 PM
I know, i know. this shit sounds like a crazy joke, but Justin wants to fight Tom Cruise!

I just saw this on th TMZ channel and is fun as hell, i can't imagine these two guys fighting on a UFC style, and i say UFC and not box because Bieber ask to Dana White to make the event, so, it means it will be UFC style if it gets done.

I'm not sure if Tom will accept the challenge but i hope he does. Someone has to take the shit out from this kiddo.

I will leave here some sources:

TMZ video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxt7QjOV_GY
Justin Post: https://twitter.com/justinbieber/status/1137880621848584193

cruise is like 2x as old as bieber? it would be a fun fight fore sure but it has to go to beiber as the young blood.
136  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance to block US customers on: June 14, 2019, 01:48:56 PM
But why? US, according to the chart is giving them the most traffic so far and banning them doesn't make sense to me. I know I'm lacking information so I hope someone would fill us with this topic.

Most probably because US has strict laws regarding cryptocurrency and when you get into the US money laundering or tax accusation, you're f**ked.
That's why most of ICO's and exchanges blocks them. And they are particulary not happy when foreign company deals with their citizen without their consent.
Every business are afraid of US. Wherever you stay or operate, US is going to f**k you anyway.

like what happend in the poker boom when alot of sites started blocking us customers , and it affected the volume alot, this will happen again, this is not a good thing for binance watch and see they volume plummet.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than gold and USD? on: June 13, 2019, 06:26:52 PM
I do not think Bitcoin is better than Gold and USD. Yes, Bitcoin is the most expensive and influential cryptocurrency of this period. Bitcoin preference is more than all the other crypto currency. Bitcoin acceptability is very high and it is increasing day by day. But it is better not to compare gold or USD with bitcoin. I saw many posts where Bitcoin is better than gold and USD. My point is that Bitcoin is the crypto currency, on the other hand, gold is one of the natural resources and USD is the real currency. So how is Bitcoin compared with gold or USD and is called Bitcoin gold and better than USD? Where Bitcoin Gold and USD are used in various different things and in different fields. Give your opinion.

i think in the future lets say like 5 or more years btc would have been a better investment then both gold and usd combined, thats what i think, but only time will tell.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: June 13, 2019, 08:47:33 AM
Durant is already over for this series, but his contribution in gambling 5 is outstanding, he played his heart out not thinking that he might aggravate his injury and therefore this man deserves a lot of respect.
Everyone has been grateful to see him play on game 5 but that's just the end for this series and he has to take care of himself now and move on to the next season of the league. I don't know how hard the pain was when he's running and jumping during the entire game but he still managed to contribute to the team well. In the past, a lot of hates were thrown to him and words that were extremely annoying but I agree that this guy deserves a hats off.

Correct, we can't really deny his contributions in Game 5. I mean his mere presence might probably spark the Warriors to hit those shots in the first and second quarter alone and it gave them enough cushion. Others said that Durant is soft, but he proved his critics wrong again by scoring what? more than 10 points in that stretch.

Time for him to take a rest now and forget another comeback in Game 6.

In game 6 we will see how the Raptors protect their series advantage now that Durant is out. I also believe that there is no comeback for the Warriors this time around.

think we will see raptors as the new champs now when durant is out, this is so incredible , cant stop to smile Cheesy
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto - Evidence Here on: June 12, 2019, 01:32:45 PM
He’s an embarrassment to be honest, a cringeworthy weasel. I can’t wait until we see his demise. The only way he can prove he is Satoshi is if he signs a message from a well known Satoshi early address & he won’t because he can’t.

if he is the real satoshi btc price going to plummet, hes nothing like the satoshi in the forum posts, that seemed like a humble guy. this craig seems like another donald trump type of moron lol Cheesy
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: HAVE YOU EVER MET ANY SUCCESSFUL GAMBLER on: June 12, 2019, 01:30:59 PM
So i was just wondering, aside the times i see the names of rich and successful gamblers during my google search, i dont think i have personally met anyone who made it big in gambling. Its possible there are  but i know more of those who have lost more than those who have made it.
Please note that by been successful, i  do not mean those who make this little and minor winnings on a daily bases(NO). I mean those with Big records, like who have won over 1BTC from gambling. If you know any either in an online or offline casino please dont hesitate to share their story, you can include the name of the site they made their wins, i am sure someone would be encouraged. Lets go guys Roll Eyes

me and my dad was checking out a apartment becuse he needed a new on, and the guy that owned the place was a proffesional poker player had 2 screen setup and everything, this was like 10 years ago so not as common with dual setup as now.
so some people make a living gambling Cheesy
