121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VISA rages WAR against Bitcoin! BANNED on: January 06, 2018, 01:45:18 AM
Guys, (some of) you have to be malicious, because if you're saying these things genuinely I have to seriously satrt worrying about the genepool!

There is no secret agenda, and no "attack on crypto". VISA chose to terminate one of its partners (completely, not just the crypto cards they issue) because their partner infringed their contractual obligations. This is standard business practice. It has nothing to do with VISa attacking crypto (keep in mind they choose to accept Monaco as a member). Even if you didn't trust their satements, why would they allow other issuers to operate elsewhere?

The only reason this has had such a big impact is because all these projects were weak and poorly thought out rushes to the market, all relying on the same dodgy single point of failure.

Crypto people are crypto's worst enemy, worse than VISA, thank Banks, and than regulators.

If VISA publicly claims that Wave Crest Holdings is in breach of contract, and they are not, VISA would be sued to oblivion
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wave Crest (issuer of prepaid bitcoin cards) was shut down today on: January 05, 2018, 10:42:46 PM
Monaco should be coming sometime this year
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple Bitcoin debit card providers suspend service under orders of Visa on: January 05, 2018, 09:36:12 PM
Governments have nothing to do with this.

It's not up to debate, nor is it being hushed. It's been publicly stated. Wave Crest Holdings violated repeatedly conditions of Visa partnership programme. They were terminated, and because of this all the cards issued through them cannot be used any longer.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wave Crest (issuer of prepaid bitcoin cards) was shut down today on: January 05, 2018, 09:33:21 PM
Wirex is just another brand issuing through WaveCrest. each and every customer of WaveCrest is down.

Third party adds and first party adds are different things.

Site looking good.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISLAM Ban's BITCOIN aka 'BITCOIN/SHA-256' NSA-HoneyPot " NWO Tracking Currency on: January 05, 2018, 08:54:54 PM
Must we respect religions? Never really understood why one very specific type of ignorance is tolerated and protected like this.

Islam, like plenty of religions obsessed with control love to ban this and that. considering islam's rules on money, usury, banking, etc... not exactly a shocker. not to mention these folks--the ones calling for these rules--arn't generally speaking the most foreward-thinking, future-oriented individuals in their communities.

There is enough sillines in the crypto world without adding religious absurdities to it
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine This... on: January 05, 2018, 07:34:06 PM
A one-issue political party that most people will eithr look at with envy or enimosity?
that's going to go far.

World politics need a LOT of work, there are plenty of problems, approaching them with the mere goal of "bitcoin backing" is absurd. Bitcoin isn't the panacea of worlds.
You'd be better off spending effort in growing within a party you believe in, and trying to bring your interests in bitcoin to the center of some discussion.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple Bitcoin debit card providers suspend service under orders of Visa on: January 05, 2018, 06:32:59 PM
Visa did _nothing_ to "crypto prepaid cards"

they simply withdrew membership of WaveCrest, who abused the rules and was not compiant with the membership program.

This has very little to do with Crypto.

Visa said the cards had been suspended after Visa terminated WaveCrest's membership due to "continued non-compliance with our operating rules", although it said other Visa cards that convert Bitcoin into normal currency would not be affected.

Chess players move their peices, and the financial chessboard is way more than three-dimentional. If you want to make some sense of any action when it comes to these players, look who it affects, how it affects them, what it actually causes, and who stands to benefit from whatever choice was taken.

All-in-all, these things are actually of little relevance to the overall success or failure of crypto.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is any free of charge currency? on: January 05, 2018, 06:26:33 PM
Read around the forum untill you understand what is on offer. Usually, there are signature campaigns, social promotion, etc. offered for users to make a little change.

Free of charge does not mean free of effort, though. No free lunch in crypto.

Anybody know if this affects VISA cards issued by Spectrocoin? (MyChoice)

Isn't MyChoice still WaveCrest? if they are, it will be down.

Now let's keep information at least somewhat real.

This is an issue that came to pass with a company called Wave Crest, a Gibraltar company that is a principal member of VISA and MasterCard circuits.
VISA decided to demand they stop processing payments for the crypto-related cards in given regions.

One would have to know the actual reasoning for it to be fully clear, but it is most likely due to the fact that Wave Crest is not an internationally present company and is issuing cross-border with Gibraltar money license.

If VISA had any intention of actually "banning" bitcoin in general, they would not have onboarded Monaco as a member.

That seems... reasonable and obvious?
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Global Regulatory Crackdown On Cryptocurrencies Is On The Way on: January 04, 2018, 10:23:07 PM
Why is regulation almost Always seen as negative when we talk amongst 'coiners?

Legality is a good thing. Clear rules are good.

If U trade a lot, your an idiot, and very soon you will have NO BTC to worry about, trading is always game that the house win's, and the sucker always loses.

Trading is not gambling.
If you trade stupidly, then yes, you're likely to end up poorer than when you started. A lot poorer.

If you have half a brain, however, and a respectable ammount of money then NOT trading in the current Crypto environment is foolish. caveat auditor, you're usually not as smart as you think you are. me included.

You should keep on the exchange no more than you absolutely need to, and the ammount you need is exactly how much you are willing to lose completely. If this is not enough to actually make reasonable returns with, then don't trade. Either way, I'd never hold more than 1-5% (depending on personal risk aversion) of net worth on exchanges.

138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is for retards, but for some reason retards aren't loosing all their money... on: January 01, 2018, 12:24:00 AM
He keeps saying it's retarded and for retards without even giving one argument for his point of view, i took a look in his channel and he's been talking shit about bitcoin for the last 4 to 5 months now, when the bitcoin was around 5k $ it's now 2.5 times more, seems to me he's the retard, he should be embarrassed,.

To be fair he was talking about Bitcoin for years, not months, and he was always consistent in his conviction... Whether his is right or wrong only time will tell.

Time's already "told". He was wrong. And this doesn't change if Bitcoin tomorrow fails completely.
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will trade under $5,000, warns Dennis Gartman on: December 31, 2017, 11:17:23 AM
How is expecting bitcoin to "drop" to $5000 apc considered bearish?

The _only_ situation that would actually be somewhat worrying is if we drop below 900$. THEN I would worry.

What is competition you talking about? does Monaco running competition with other project/token!

Binance recently listed MCO, and to promote trading they decided to run a couple of competitions over the Holiday period. Binance is the one running the competition.
