do you think it would be possible if we did have a settlement, and there was a reality-type TV show, that it wouldn't be epically popular? i think the world has gotten so dumb (especially the us govt) that the show wouldn't be a hit to the majority of the world.

I think you are bang on.  The moon landing was one of the most watched programs in TV history.

There's some kind of Mars reality show in the works apparently. Not sure how feasible or if it'll actually happen though.
12002  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: April 22, 2014, 07:05:15 PM
I find it hard to comment on The X- Files because it simply transcends words. It's an intelligent masterpiece, an epos of beautifully complicated scenarios, plots and characters. Eruditely taking on the grayest of areas, confronting those things under your bed and inside your closet thus bringing new meaning to the fears brought on by conventions and the imprudent obstinacy of social norms. The script, the actors and the direction make the most unbelievable seem believable and the unfathomable- unfathomably real. So thought provoking that if you really let yourself dwell in its essence, it can change the way you see the world, if only just by believing in the conviction that The Truth Is Out There.

lol fanboy detected. What episodes do you reccomend? I'll give it a go.

Haha quite possibly. I've never heard someone be so passionate about The X Files  Cheesy.

I didn't read partial your reply I decided to reply on that part because it's the only part that sounded like an argument in your comment
As for for Atheism + Vegetarian having higher IQ, that's the most stupid thing i've ever heard, I'll let you check some facts here

Have a good read.

What's that list of? Karl Sagan & Hawkings aren't religious or am I confused here?

No they're all atheists and vegans. Just kidding. You're not confused. Carl Sagan & Hawking aren't religious or believe in god and neither does Einstein. Please read the thread after that post.

Translation: I am closed minded and chose not to view your other statements yet I still replied saying you were completely wrong.

He's very close minded and never understand logic or facts. Read that post and the following ones he just linked to.
12005  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: April 22, 2014, 06:01:23 PM
Even if your not of Christiain faith, theres still things that are common sense, and historical truths.

For example
Thou shall not murder? Common sense, happens to be in the bible.
Adultery, lying, all common sense, "happens" to be in the bible. So yeah, "Intelligent" people may or may not get there rules/morality from the bible but does not mean you should dismiss the book altogether. That maybe a reason why its the number one most sold book.....

It's not because there's some exemple of common sense in the bible, that everything in it can be taken litteraly without questioning.
And historical truths? Like that the Earth is 6000 years old?

No like that Jesus is a real person that has walked the earth. Bible never states how many days are in a year, many hours in a day, etc. So yes its completley plausible that Earth is 6000 "years" old.

I'm not sure the bible saying there was a person called Jesus is historical proof/truth.

Which has strict rule about posting ritz or stunna?

Why? It shouldn't matter unless you're going to be spamming. If you post rubbish you'll likely have your posts reported and maybe even banned.
12007  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: April 22, 2014, 05:20:05 PM
Theres Genesis 9:3
Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.

Theres plenty about eating animals, I don't what bible you are looking in.

He probably wasn’t looking in any bible seeing as intelligent people don't get their rules or morality from such books.
12008  Other / Off-topic / Re: just start datin few weeks ago how do I explain her I can't pay for everything? on: April 22, 2014, 05:18:07 PM
Sounds like the type of girl you don't really want to be dating. Just tell her you don't have the money to be paying for everything and it shouldn't be expected, and if it is see the first part of my sentence. Also, the dating a billionaire is likely to be bullshit unless you know otherwise or are just trolling.
12009  Other / Off-topic / Re: How has Harry Potter infiltrated your daily life? on: April 22, 2014, 05:15:32 PM
I never really cared for the books. They were enjoyable but vastly overrated. I've only seen the first film. I want to watch them all again though, especially the ones with Gary Oldman in.
12010  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where do billionaires keep their money? on: April 22, 2014, 05:14:19 PM
Bitcoin and Gold Smiley

I wouldn’t advise putting all your savings into Bitcoin, but I think buying some and holding for a while will pay dividends, but as with all investments it's not without risk.

this could get religious, but why did God create animals?

Grow up. No one created animals. They evolved out of other animals. This is the first time that I am hearing the argument, god created the animals to become food to the humans. Where is it said so?  Grin

From Bible:

Genesis 1:30

And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Romans 14:1-23

As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

Unless you've misquoted or taken it out of context neither of those say anything specifically about eating meat, but the bible does say something about having dominion over all animals or something.

I've only seen one person consistently misspell dissonance as disadence, and the ranting style is familiar. m3sSh3aD (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=34577), who's been banned, plus his various alts.

Is there any conspiracy crap from this guy? He did mentioning being banned for calling out BFL scams too.

Finally.. he should have been banned weeks ago when he started his hatred filled bigot post about some black guy who beat up his niece.

Good Riddance!

Link?

I think he is referring to this post/topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=495497.0

You're a bit late with that:

A perfect example of his trolling / continually unfunny attempts at humour.
12014  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: April 22, 2014, 04:53:13 PM
Why do we watch science fiction? Because we want to believe! Mixing sci-fi tropes with a healthy dose of distrust of authority. From the cannibal Virgil Incanto to the Cher-loving sideshow freak The Great Mutato to the Arctic Worms to the deviant-sex-loving quasi-Amish murderers (to really just name a few). It may have had the best rogues' gallery in all television. You know what TV show I am talking about? If you know you are fine. If you don't go watch it now and feel it Smiley

How are we meant to know what TV show you are talking about? lol

Maybe it was hard to guess? This show is The X-Files. It is quite dated, but still one of the best TV sci-fi shows... If you haven't seen it yet you may miss some good action Smiley

I watched the first few episodes a while back and it did seem very dated. I used to catch it occasionally on late night TV back in the day and it was always just 'watchable' really. Are the later seasons any better?

Does it not tell you what you've been banned for when it happens? I guess it'd be a good idea to do so if not.
12016  Other / Meta / Re: May I know the criteria of being a Moderator ? on: April 22, 2014, 04:50:24 PM
A good relationship with thermos and high trust and forum longevity?

Probably more the latter two although the former obviously helps. I'd imagine some of the staff also have a place to put in their own input and recommendations on who should become a moderator.

I'm sure high activity and a continual forum presence is needed, and I guess positive trust would help too, but there are some mods who don't seem to have any trusted 'green' feedback. Also I think most forums usually have a super secret hidden mod board  Grin.
12017  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: April 22, 2014, 04:35:52 PM
Eating meat is not wrong. Mankind would have not evolve if not for eating meat. Just keep balance diet and regular exercise.

We used to cannibalise too. Is that not wrong then?

this could get religious, but why did God create animals?

He didn't.
12018  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: April 21, 2014, 04:24:06 PM
There is nothing wrong with eating meat. Some people think it is wrong how the meat is raised, but that is understandable.

If humans all convert to vegans it will deplete the land fertility and all the unkilled animals will cause massive environmental disaster. Look at India its a hell hole where cows and all kinds of animals shit on your doorstep

Wrong. Farming livestock does much damage to the environment on all fronts, and cows are sacred in India that's why they roam around.

Wrong, Cows produce higher carbon footprint that all cars trucks ships and planes on the planet combined

Killing animals helps protect the environment

I'm aware of the first part, but you're wrong on the second. They produce more because of the sheer amount we raise and breed. Killing them doesn't help if we continue to farm them this way. It's not really sustainable either.

Aaaaand there's PG's alt.

Pg walls of text were a bit smaller and always included an adorable image

I very much doubt it's PG. He can spell, but if it is him he's very good at changing his writing style and covering his tracks. Randomlove did admit to being banned several times before in another thread though.
Wouldn't he try to outsmart us that way? It sure looks like it could be him.
The post doesn't fit the thread at all.

Well it certainly could be a double bluff. I guess an easy way to try cover your tracks and throw people off the scent would be to sloppy up your spelling and grammar etc, but I think all they have in common is they're both trolls. Could be wrong though.
