I've always liked Byteball, and made a Blackbytes FAQ years ago. It's unfortunate such a technologically advanced coin never gained the traction it deserves. Bittrex is the easy way to go indeed, but since they have my KYC, I don't want to trade "other" funds anymore. According to Obyte.org, you can trade bytes with a bot inside the Obyte wallet. Blackbytes can be traded through a bot too. It's been a few years since I played with it. Just in case: if you don't sell your Blackbytes now, you should keep a few (thousands of) bytes to pay transaction fees on your Blackbytes later on. |

You had my attention right until this part: In other words, people who have old and unused computers may earn up to $ 200-1000 monthly passive income. There may be much more income depending on the customer's preference. This doesn't seem to be very realistic. An old computer is worth less than $200, if it can earn more than that, anyone can build a farm. Or even easier: an old computer can be compared to a $10 VPS, and if that can earn 20-100 times more, it's very easy to turn on thousands of them and earn a million bucks per month. Who's going to pay $200 or more per month for a task that can be performed by a single old computer? Or even worse: they'll have to pay that amount 4 times, because there are 4 copies all wanting to earn the same monthly income: the data of each miner will be available to 4 miners at the same time.
I can think of some uses for a distributed storage system, such as storing settings and small amounts of other data for a non-persistent operating system. But it has to be cheap to use, and you should expect earnings per miner to be limited by market forces. |

my ledger wallet about to get screen die, so I quickly sent those funds out there to a new wallet. so I can't connect electrum to get help from RBF (now ledger broken and importing just seed on electrum doesn't seem to be working. ) As long as you have your 24 seed words, your funds should be safe. I've never tried importing 24 seed words into Electrum (note that importing hardware wallet seeds into a hot wallet is a risk!), but if it doesn't work there's always Ian Coleman. DO NOT do this online, you'll risk your funds. If you copy the site to a system running offline (air gapped) from a Linux LIVE DVD, you can safely experiment until you get it right. It may take some fiddling with the derivation path. After that, you can create a watch-only Electrum installation on an online computer, import the addresses, create a watch-only wallet, create an unsigned transaction, and sign it offline in Electrum from the LIVE DVD where you've imported the private keys. This is the very short version, but should be enough to get you started. (53 Characters, i read everywhere it has to be 51 for Base58) You've posted 52 characters. I hope you didn't post the real key though! Okay, you didn't. These are my notes on private key length: Bitcoin private keys (this section is largely based on data from bitaddress.org) - WIF (Wallet Import Format) (51 characters base58, starting with "5").
Example: 5KMWmYkn5YWkJnUDG4utD9L1HXQv3DBseqqCGsQXmthcEerbA7k - WIF Compressed (52 characters base58, starting with "K" or "L").
Example: L41YPdADy46J9Vh77WGR2bktFwEZ6knza2Xim3Urq9CEWynkkLgn
Note: both WIF and WIF Compressed are derived from the same private key, but result in different Bitcoin addresses.
What's the first character of each private key? It could be some characters were changed to make it harder to take funds if someone discovers the keys. Something like: move N characters from left to right, there are so many possibilities. I'd look for other files that may give more clues. |

The second one has been around for years. Don't make a typo though, you might end up on a phishing site. The first one you mentioned looks like an imposter: both the guy's name and the site's name seem to be created to make you think it's the real deal. I contacted David but got no answer from Dave so far. Not sure what happened. You keep confusing who's who too. If you open the .dat files with windows notepad, both seem completely unreadable. It's not supposed to be clear text. 1. Rescan with Pywallet + passphrase That's a good start  2. Raw partition search for keys or key fragments (I can't do that myself) I have no idea how likely this is to find anything useful when keys are encrypted. And I don't think it's very likely to find a part of a key still intact, while the rest is overwritten. 3. Forensic data recovery lab. But I don't even know what to tell them. They probably don't know so much about private keys and stuff Add the fact that you're not even sure if there's any value left on the disk, and you may end up with an expensive disappointment. @HCP: out of the 11764 possible encrypted keys, how many of those are duplicates? |

Due to growing daily file sizes, I've reduced the number of daily snapshots by 1: Data retention and updates
I'll provide daily updates. I keep the latest 3 daily snapshots, and the latest 5 monthly snapshots. One a day (or once a month) I delete the oldest files. The server ran out of disk space during the last download. Now it should be good for a while again. |
