12041  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Observers pointed to the large-scale fraud in the referendum in Turkey on: April 18, 2017, 12:44:57 PM
I think that now Turkey will never be part of Europe.

And that's almost certainly to Europe's benefit. They don't exactly bring a great deal of positivity to the party.
12042  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UK PM Calls For Snap Election in June on: April 18, 2017, 12:16:46 PM
If only there was an opposition that wasn't made up of pathetic donkeys. I really can't remember a time when our politics were as chaotic and amateurish as they are now.
12043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We knew the Large Bitcoin Collider was useless, now we know it's also rootkit on: April 18, 2017, 11:29:45 AM
So program that offers the possibility of free money turns out to be a program that might get free money for the programmer. Shocker.
12044  Other / Politics & Society / Re: DPRK Missile Submarine is not detected by US Forces. on: April 17, 2017, 07:23:09 PM
It's time this forum had a Russian propaganda section. That's in addition to the anti semitic one and I think a misogynist sub forum is ripe for inclusion too.
12045  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex or Bittrex on: April 17, 2017, 07:19:37 PM
I sense a negative meaning in your wording. Mind elaborating what exactly you're referring to?

It's a bottomless pump fest and there is absolutely nothing to stop them from fucking with their own customers.

Look at how ETC was launched. If that wasn't a blatant screwjob then I don't know what is.

They may be operationally solid but I don't believe they're whiter than white in their ethics.
12046  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitfinex turning into Mt. Gox? on: April 17, 2017, 07:09:05 PM
I don't think Bitfinex was ever due a happy ending. I also don't think there'll ever anything of the magnitude of Gox again.

But crypto withdrawals are fine. We certainly would've heard if they weren't.
12047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 17, 2017, 05:44:20 PM
since easter i was not in computer and maybe i missed some news but may i please ask you to explain why you say this for Kraken?

I'm not talking about Kraken, it's Bitfinex. But Bitfinex certainly has a less horrible design than Kraken. I can't believe they think that UI is good enough.
12048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: April 17, 2017, 04:51:14 PM
Why do you say it's a pnd now?

A few short weeks ago it was worth nearly ten times less. Has anything changed in that time?
12049  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex or Bittrex on: April 17, 2017, 04:06:03 PM
Neither should be trusted. But for pure usability I find Poloniex cleaner. I wonder whether they're going to eventually have a story to tell too. The pumps are so brazen now.
12050  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 17, 2017, 04:02:56 PM
More fun tokens for everyone to enjoy? I'm still getting over its return to the top after a hack of that magnitude. What do/did they have that other exchanges don't? Is it the combination of volume and margin?

I've never used it but it was certainly less horrific on the eye than Kraken is.
12051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins have the highest potential tps currently? on: April 16, 2017, 08:39:04 PM
In my opinion (which is result of my research) NEM is going to have highest TPS among blockchain cryptos and IOTA is going to have highest TPS in general.

The thousands of TPS on NEM will definitely happen on a privatised version, not necessarily the public chain.

Right now I seem to remember they said the public chain is limited to about 5 TPS. If the privatised upgrade is included it'll be high but maybe not stellar. I don't think it's very clear yet.
12052  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Published data on the military capability of the DPRK on: April 15, 2017, 10:32:46 PM
Cannon fodder won't help. The Americans will destroy targets from afar. When they destroy all the infrastructure, the army will surrender itself. You forget how they fled Saddam's army. The main thing that Trump doesn't.

Read up. The North Koreans are fucking psychos who would probably fight until the very last kitten. There is no parallel with anything Middle Eastern. The entire country is an engine for war.

They're constantly finding new invasion tunnels dug into South Korea. The countryside will be riddled with hides and bunkers. Even if there's no more command there would still be guerrilla fighting everywhere.

They may be tiny and have crap weapons but they're fuelled by pure, burning hatred.
12053  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Published data on the military capability of the DPRK on: April 15, 2017, 10:14:21 PM
The same was once said of Saddam Hussein. Where is he now? And could still live if not put itself above God. The same fate awaits Kim Jong-UN.

And much of his army was a bunch of tubby chancers. The North Koreans are indoctrinated from birth. They're on a never ending war footing and they believe that the US has always been the ultimate evil.

They're a short cruise from Seoul and they have enough cannon fodder to throw away to cause an insane amount of damage.

Graph now looks like PnD   Undecided

It's on Poloniex. What did you expect? And there might be plenty of oxygen left yet.
12055  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you feel about the death penalty? on: April 15, 2017, 06:58:36 PM
I agree But 40k a prisoner cost to the public tax purse..

Indeed, but have you ever looked into the cost of the legal appeals and grinding that goes on before someone's actually put to death in the US? It's usually in the millions and it can take 10-20 years of housing and feeding them too.
12056  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you feel about the death penalty? on: April 15, 2017, 06:38:42 PM
Until the justice system is 100% irrevocably absolutely infallible the death penalty should not exist.

If one innocent person get done in by the state then that's an outrage, of course it's probably countless thousands.

And a whole life term in somewhere like ADX Florence is going to be a far worse fate than being put down.
12057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver has been compromised on: April 15, 2017, 06:24:48 PM
the original Satoshi vision was that full nodes also mine.  He is somewhat right in that theoretically a full node miner should prioritize propogation to other miners.
I think the main point is that we don't need thousands of thousands of nodes that don't mine and only relay, although it is good to have some non mining full
nodes to serve SPV users.

Checks and balances are what keep the world stable. I don't trust the miners to consistently do the right thing, nor do I particularly trust anyone else. The more nodes there are stating their case and enforcing the rules the better, miner or not.

Cry
I am still in the denial phase. We must scale before december or we are all doomed.
When this wont happen we will wake up in a world where Ethereum will be n1 and bitcoin will be an old forgotten altcoin , litecoin 2.0
We must scale, and fast.
I dont want a premined 900 000 000 forked token to be n1

Perhaps that's the narrative that's been fed to you by the people who want to relieve you of your coins at a bargain price?

There'll be an ever increasing number of alt surges no matter what BTC gets up to. At some point people will need to let go of the idea that they're all elements of the same market and they're all competing.

The behaviour on Poloniex and elsewhere is so shameless now that I don't really pay much attention to it any more. A coin could easily sail past on 99% speculation. Bitcoin's probably still 95% itself.

I really hope some scaling does happen, but bigger blocks or Segwit by the end of the year feels like a major ask.

12059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: April 15, 2017, 06:04:48 PM
The more coins on the market the more volume it takes to move it upward. The coins held by developers can come into play if and when they decide to start dumping them out on the market.
Again, JMHO

The quantity of coins is effectively irrelevant because they're ultimately priced in USD or BTC as it stands. People buy and sell with those denominations in mind. The XEM to most pumpers is simply a few more decimals than other ones.
12060  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Quitting Weed on: April 15, 2017, 06:02:21 PM
I smoked about 20-30 joints a day for 15 or so years.

I'm afraid I don't have any advice because one day the desire to have it simply went off like a light switch and has never returned. Maybe it was so easy because drugs don't have an effect on me, I just liked the taste.

I do remember what it felt like to run out. In those situations I would remind myself that it was a craving and not an addiction.

After throwing it in I did develop a slight distaste for weed smokers. Not necessarily the mind set, but more the utter waste of time and money. I refused to travel with stoners any more as they'd insist on parking up every hour and talking shit for twenty minutes.

You can look forward to feeling richer and more productive. Weed use is an utter dead end ultimately.
