1221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI AF Settings for the Zotac p106-100 on: November 25, 2017, 10:34:01 AM
Okay thanks i'll try all the above.
I'm going to do a fresh install of windows aswell. since the miner was ethereum based.
But i wonder where can i get the drivers for the zotac p106-106 cards ?

Ethereum based? No need to do a fresh install, you can switch mining either Equihash or ETH algo, just do the reboot.

download drivers on their site

1222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dumb question: Is there a better mining program than Claymore? on: November 25, 2017, 09:15:08 AM
I'm new to mining and I'm just wondering if there are other algo's that does a similar thing as Claymore.  Like Claymore's competitor or proprietary algo that people use?   Curious, common sense tells me that Claymore is not the only program that can write program.  Thank you for enlightening me!

Sure thing, a Lot of mining app out there. if you have a certain coin candidate for mining you could go to that coins official site and will probably tell you recommended mining app you will use, so is true with mining pools, they have support page and recommended miners.

1223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: help with My rig on: November 25, 2017, 07:44:58 AM
no its not power, he is using the tb250-btc pro, id say bios settings
go into the bios and look for pci express settings, possibily some pull down menus, change gen3, assuming that's the default to gen 1
also enable 4g decoding

I did everything you said, thanks for the help,

Now my GPUs can mine on Claymore, but the fans  are running a bit slow and whenever they want xD (GPU0 t=76C fan=32%, GPU1 t=76C fan=29%, GPU2 t=76C fan=27%, GPU3 t=76C fan=28%) and i cant control them with MSI Afterburn, any suggestions to that?
I think im going to install previous drivers. Or even the AMD  Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for Blockchain, what would you suggest?...

Also the mining rate is very slow, im using nanopool ETH only and im getting 67.22 Mh/s (16.80 for each GPU) but i know i have to flash them, im already reading how to. Worth to mention they“re Hynix.

Thanks in advance.

change gen 1 to gen 2, and see if you can still use all gpus. doesn't always work but its worth a try:D I have a msi gaming socket 1151 mobo that I could change the pci express to gen 2 and still run 6 NVidia gpus. but again it doesn't always work with every motherboard

Thanks for all the help, i really appreciate it...

Before your reply i use DDU to remove newest driver and intall AMD driver for blockchain, then i used the ATI pixel patcher and reboot to modify MB BIOS with your recommended configuration.. Surprisingly it worked fine, now i have my 4 GPU“s working and i can control fans with MSI Afterburn, GPU“s increased hashrate to 19.36 Mh/s (still sucks) but its a great advance.

Abusing from your goodness, do you know any link or youtube tutorial to modify GPU“s BIOS? they are Hynix.

Thanks bro Smiley

Hope this helps

Just curious what did you do to MSI Afterburner to adjust your Fans? this is bit tricky ,did you see the graphs of temps and fan percentage?
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Rig GPU decision with $1000-$1100 Budget on: November 25, 2017, 06:46:05 AM
The VEGAs are the most profitable GPU right now. Especially if you consider hash rate - power efficiency. 1900 H/s on cryptonight on only 130-150watts?
Thats why it is currently sold out everywhere. One thing about it is that you have to do some tweaking and registry edits. So it might not be for everyone too.

yes, the vegas are good, the only problem the prices for them has gone up too much
two weeks back they were @ $400-420 and now they are @ $550
crazy

Its a bit headache and challenging for newbies, but it will definitely pay the price when you have it worked, consider also the long terms. price surely started going unjust right now.

1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 570 at the end of 2017 on: November 25, 2017, 04:13:45 AM
Hey guys,

It's late November and we're finally able to buy 570/580s at a decent price in Europe, once again. I know these were the go to cards (along with the 470/480s) for ETH during the "crypto boom", but is it still worth to buy them today ?

If the decent price you're talking about were the price before Month of May this year then I guess I'll be tempted to buy them.

Quote
Can you still get around 30mh/s with a 570 when you're mining ETH ?

it will depend on the card mem and bios mod, I have 580's and 480's easily do 30mhz, 570's will be as close to it.

Quote
Also, how does these cards do in late November 2017 with Monero, Z cash, Decred ? I guess my questions is "what else can you efficiently mine with a rx 570 ?"

in 580's and 480's they do well at Monero, 570's will also be do well for sure.

1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to tell if the coin is minable or not ? on: November 25, 2017, 03:31:59 AM
Hi, I am complete noob when it comes to mining.
I want to learn about it, thus the question- how can one tell if the coin can be mined?

Is there an easy and fast way to determine that ?

A lot of ways, easiest is to see mining pools, what coins they are offering for mining with their instructions and support

there are also online calculators out there to determine your profitability with your current hardware

Lastly, all POW coins can be mined
1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hide XMRIG from Antivirus build self on: November 24, 2017, 02:02:17 PM
Is there any way to build the app itself tho!? and change some variables to avoid detection?
 =)

No Offense bro, I'm just wondering why you're doing mining in a private domain that you don't owned, I say this coz it seems you don't have security admin rights, its a piece of advice, you might get caught.

1228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero on: November 24, 2017, 01:00:35 AM
I tried claymore pool, but I got two errors, one is wrong wallet error, amd has code object loading failed, gpu memory allocation failed.

Claymore is not a pool  Cheesy, it's a mining app

I get this...

you are already mining monero in dwarfpool. Grin
I don't see my wallet iset my monero,but I don't find it,could somebody post,the two text,config and pools,where must write my wallet?

If you are using Claymore, just create .bat file and enter this configuration, just change the wallet

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

NsGpuCNMiner.exe -xpool stratum+tcp://xmr-eu.dwarfpool.com:8050 -xwal YOUR_WALLET
I have already did these, but where is my wallet?

you can use exchange wallet if you want to. or download and use a full node monero with wallet

Exchange - poloniex, bittrex, etc.

Hi,

i'm thinking about build some GPU miner.
i know what graphic cards i wanna but i don't have idea what motherboard/cpu/ram/ssd/hdd/power supply to choose.
do you have any proposition? Smiley

best regards

Usually I look up with the Mining Guru's like bro Philipma1957 and bro yun9999's thread. almost all of the stuff regarding mining is already there, all you have to do is read.  Cheesy

setx comands? Isn't that from ETHMINER, not claymore?

Applicable also to Claymore for windows, you can do back read if you want some references

Hi guys!

I have a problem taht trend antivirus catches xmrig as a virus. and deletes it....

Is there a way to mask it or build it myself with another name or anything to avoid detection?

Disable Antivirus, or add the application in Exemption.

Quote
If so HOW do you build it with the right settings?

Does there exist any step by step guides?

I don't use Trend, however most AV's has application exemption rule, try to search that settings
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.1 (Windows/Linux) on: November 23, 2017, 09:55:45 AM
GPU stops every few minutes and then starts again...

If it stops, does it start on its own or you have to manually restart it? have you tried to check or replace your risers? in most cases those are the culprits

Quote
Can you tell me what settings on GPU do you use for this combination?

I use,

Default Voltage
cClock: 1100
MemClock: 2050
power Limit: -20

Yes, on 3 out of 5 GPUs fans stops for second or two and then restarts. On miner window I see one "line" saying hash rade is 0, in the next one there it gets back again to normal. Happens every few minutes.
Risers are not the problem, this don't happens on other algoritams. I think it has to be software error od GPU settings

I tryed few claymore versions, same error.

Can you send me your config file (exclude your personal files) so i can compare?

Did I miss something?

Code:
epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444
-ewal ETH adress
-dpool dcr-eu.coinmine.pl:2222
-dwal user.user
-dpsw password
-dcoin dcr
-epsw x
-mode 0
-allcoins 1
-nofee 0
-mport -3333

** I use Minerstat **

I don't do dual mining, I embedded my configuration thru my bat file.

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool MY_POOL:PORT -ewal MY_WALLET -epsw x -esm 3 -allpools 1

1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to decide which pool to join on: November 23, 2017, 07:23:55 AM
I have a shortlist of around 10 pools to mine from depending on when blocks are discovered, but I'm not sure how to decide which one to join. Is it better to join a pool:

that has more miners connected
that has higher total hashrate

To me it makes sense to join a pool that has the lowest total hashrate, because then my hash rate would make up more of the total and so I'd solve more blocks... but is this the best way to decide, and if not, how to make the decision?

Depends on the coins you want to mine every pool has to offer, there is a thing that called 'luck' and pool fees that you should be aware of, find a decent and respectable pools and test them by yourself.

Basically if there are a lot of miners connected means they enjoy the pool  Grin

I'm not a linux guy but trying to learn it more so for the linux guys does claymore's clock settings work in ubuntu 16.04 with amdgpu-pro drivers I'm thinking of switching my rigs over my only concern is overclocking and if claymore works with eth mining great but what if I want to switch to monero

Linux is also supported for Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=638915.0

Quote
This version is for recent AMD videocards only: 7xxx, 2xx, 3xx and 4xx, 1GB or more.

There are builds for Windows x64 and Linux x64. No 32-bit support. No NVidia support.

command lines are posted at the start of Thread

1238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: code 43 problem on: November 22, 2017, 02:28:48 PM
If it happens that you're using a modded AMD GPU, you might forgot installing the patcher

https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher
There's a lot of possible reasons for Code 43. AMD drivers needing a patch applied is one of them. Although it seems like his rig was working fine before the reboot, so the drivers should be already patched. Looks more like some sort of hardware problem.

Yeah, I suspected a driver changed upon reboot, might be an OS update, anyways. I guess its already solved. Grin

1240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig freeze shuttoff etc. :( on: November 22, 2017, 02:11:19 PM
The solution is to buy an ASIC miner? This is a bitcoin forum, not sure why you are talking about PC parts.

Not really. This is indeed after all the altcoin mining sub-forum. There should be no discrimination when talking about PC parts for mining especially when a well built altcoin mining rig earns more than some ASICs.

Going back to the topic and helping the OP, you could try checking your miner's log file. Make sure you turn on logging or debugging if you haven't done so. If your PC only freezes after turning on the miner, most likely you will find an error on your miner's log file. If you can paste the contents of the log file here we can take it from there.

Lol, the moderator might already moved this topic to altcoin section. Grin

Is there any solution proposal other than this?

Have you tried installing the single GPU in PCIEx16 slot without using riser? what's the result?

Try to do this with your 1070, if it fails, clean uninstall driver then install using GTX1070.
