The following analysis is right on topic and spells a lot of things right out, without beating about the bush:
https://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2015/02/02/why-is-obama-scrambling-to-catch-up-to-putin

Quote
In the above interview, Obama is back to justifying what were spectacular fails by the US in 2014, namely, Crimea and Donbass. No, Crimea wasn’t any grand master plan by Putin, says Obama. It was merely a reaction to the circumstances AFTER WE BROKERED THE POWER TRANSFER IN KIEV (read: ukro-nazi coup of February 22, 2014 that led to bloody civil war that continues destroying Donbass and killing thousands of people).

Mr. Obama, you bet Putin was reacting to circumstances you and your friends created. If not for the US, there would have been no bloody mess in Ukraine, Donbass would have not rebelled, and Crimea would have still been a part of Ukraine.

So, for what it’s worth, the citizens of the Russian Crimea are saying: “Thank you, Mr. Obama!” Thanks to you and your government’s miscalculations, Crimean people’s 23-year-old dream of re-uniting with Russia came true.

Citizens of Russia are also very grateful to you. They are thankful for the sanctions, which allow them to develop their own industry and agriculture that was disadvantaged by the proliferation of the Western produce on the Russian market. Given time, these sanctions will also allow Russia to properly rebuild its financial and monetary system, nationalize Central Bank and re-gain full sovereignty of the Russian currency. This is the beginning of the end of the dollar system.

Ukraine is sovereign and should be given the chance to defend itself against soviet expansionism.  I don't see how being diplomatic and brokering a power transition is any sort of democratic impropriety.  The author clearly has an agenda.

Ukraine lost its sovereignty in February 2014 after the coup d'etat and displacement of its legitimate president. The current Ukrainian "government" was de facto appointed by Biden and contains foreign nationals. Not a single Porosheno's move is done without a prior "by your leave" from Biden or Nudelman.

But Ukraine was steadily losing its sovereignty over the 25 years after the collapse of USSR, as American NGOs took root in all spheres of Ukrainian society, as Soros-funded falsified history books altered the mentality and conciousness of the young generation, and as Ukrainian oligarch sold national interests.

Interestingly, Russia was on the same express route to abyss during the 90s, and the destruction was halted when Yeltsin left the office and Putin somewhat reigned in the stealing bastards (oligarchs). This never happened in Ukraine.

And Ukrainians should not think that USA has their best interests at heart. The current destruction of the country is the best indicator of that. For US tops, Ukraine is nothing but a tool, a lever to get at Russia, it's viewed as expendable lose change.

The Empire of Chaos can do whatever it likes, but it should be mindful of the fate of the empires before it. The higher you climb, the harder you fall, and USA is not the first Empire out there, nor is it, thankfully, the last (though it does strive to be the last by putting forth the conditions to end life on earth).

Breaking! Kiev Junta Sells US Weapons to Syria
https://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2015/02/06/breaking-kiev-junta-sells-us-weapons-to-syria/

Quote
...

For one, Kiev army isn’t trained or sophisticated enough to use US weapons effectively. They can’t even use properly the old Soviet weapons they were trained to use.

Two, corruption and thievery in Ukraine army is off the charts. By different estimates, 90% of the so-called Western ‘aid’ is pocketed by generals, colonels – and what’s left, by lower officers. Knowing all that US and EU rightly don’t give any money directly to Kiev, no matter how much Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk beg.

Three, because of the above corruption, most of the US weapons would certainly end up being sold to the Donbass self-defence. This is how self-defence has acquired many of the Ukrainian weapons they are using today.

It has to be noted that the US discussion whether to send weapons to Kiev sounds like hypocrisy. It is well-known that US weapons, including US radars, are already in Ukraine. They had been delivered during December 2014 ceasefire.

...

But the latest news is truly spectacular in its poetic justice. It has become known that Kiev is secretly selling the weapons they received from the US to Syria. This ‘corruption scheme includes a deal made by the Kiev assistant defense minister Petr Mekhed and Brigadier General of the Syrian army Talal Mahloof (sp?), who is close to Bashar Assad,’ per News-Front. Here is News-Front report https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTsSa7IU7ps (with English subs, which unfortunately aren’t very good, but they give some idea).

Poroshenko made a fool of himself again, this time in Munchen. He was talking about Russian army invasion, brandishing 5 Russian passport covers, presumably from Russian soldiers. Well, if they were real (he didn't show the innards), they may be from Russian volunteers helping the Russian population of Novorossia to fight against Ukrainian Nazism (just like Soviet volunteers helped to fight against fascism in Spain a little under 90 years ago).

EDIT: The interesting observations were to be done off-stage: The way Kerry guided Poroshenko, wrapping an arm around his shoulder in a possesive manner, as if ensuring that Poroshenko does not talk to anyone without permission. And the sitting arrangements around the table, with Poroshenko being flanked by Biden and Kerry.

Demilitarise Crimea? Only after USA demilitarises Key West, and even then, maybe not. Your suggestion is the same as asking someone to leave the front door unlocked as a sign of good will....

The harmony and peace between Russia and USA will only be there once the promises are kept (remember, one promise was not to expand NATO eastwards), and once Russia has fewer US military bases around its perimeter. In other words, once there is balance.

US Vice President Joe Biden has called on European countries to show unity when it comes to sanctions against Russia, labeling the dissenting voices “inappropriate and annoying”, reported ‘Der Spiegel’, quoting the participants of the Brussels meeting.

“Putin continues to call for new peace plans as his troops roll through the Ukrainian countryside and he absolutely ignores every agreement that his country has signed in the past... including in Minsk,” Biden said, referring to “little green men”, but failing to provide any exact details of Russia's alleged military presence in the region.

Couple of great reader comments:

Yes, I know, I wasn't trying to turn it into some political question when I wrote "Russia / Chechniya", quite the contrary.

Marianne, sorry if my previous comment came out harsher than it should have. This is a carry-over from the other, politically charged threads, where I am trying to be as pedantic as possible, when it comes to definitions, as I am often on the defensive with regard to topics that concern Russia.

Back to the topic at hand, where I am in full agreement with you: solution to this problem must transcend nationalities, politics and country boundaries.

I got an extremely interesting email this morning which provides background about the current Ukraine peace negotiations in Moscow, which include Kiev, Novorossia, Germany and France but exclude Britain and the US.

According to the email, the Germans have arrested Victoria Nuland’s assistant, who in addition, is an employee of Vanguard Corporation, with almost a billion of high quality fake dollars, printed by Vanguard Corporation. This employee, who also works for the State Department, claims that Vanguard was printing fake dollars, which they and Igor Kolomoyskiy were using to pay mercenaries in Syria, Iraq, Ukraine, Libya and the Islamic State.

The Vanguard whistleblower is under German police protection while they investigate.

Apparently a Russian blogger accessed the German government website somehow and posted this material to her blog нет в мире справедливость (No Justice in the World). It’s in the process of being translated and verified.

Thank you, Stuart. Very interesting. I just have a few questions. You may have noticed that I always meticulously establish the links and show proofs of anything I say. The chain of reasoning always has to be impecable. This creates credibility.

So, these are the Qs that come to my mind right away, and if they come to me, believe me, lots of other people will ask them as well.
1. By Vanguard you mean the world’s largest mutual fund company, or…? If it’s the Vanguard I know very well, how can they print money, fake or otherwise? If it’s something else, which I am unaware of, who are they and what is their connection to State Dept? 2. As far as I know, State Dept employee can’t simultaneously be a private company employee – it’s against the law. However, of course it’s possible that it was an assignment. In cases like this it is important to have details straight because anyone who knows how the system works will accuse this info, that may actually be plausible, of being a crazy conspiracy theory. Just a thought Smiley. 3. How is Kolomoysky connected to all this? This is another detail that is important to establish.
Thanks.

Greetings and blessings to all!

There is a Corporation called Allen-Vanguard that may be the correct “Vanguard” named in the email that Stuart received this morning. I agreed with Lada that it is very unlikely to be Vanguard the mutual fund company. So when I had time I did a little research. Here is a portion of Allen-Vanguard’s company overview from the Bloomberg Business site:

“Company Overview

Allen-Vanguard Corporation provides solutions to prevent and defeat terrorist and extremist threats. It offers improvised explosive devices (IEDs), radio controlled IEDs (RCIEDs), and electronic counter measures. The company also provides capacity building services to assist national governments, security agencies, and defense forces develop their counter-threat capabilities; threat intelligence products and services, including threat intelligence portal that delivers reporting online to predict and defeat terrorist and extremist threats, as well as subscription products; exploitation, forensics, and biometrics solutions; and discreet counter-network operations, counter-IED training, explosi…”

Sound like the correct critter to any of you? It did to me. Based on their website information it looks like this company could be capable of printing any country’s currency and do many other things as well. Here is the link so you can look at the various companies within the corporation and some of their lead personnel:

http://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=7131811

So, according to

http://pravosudija.net/article/umirotvorit-missis-van-byurren-zadacha-posledney-fazy-ato-vypolnena

there is an extra layer to the latest ATO move, involving fake money, a lot of it...

Poroshenko demands from Greece to support Ukraine by being in solidarity with Europe in its anti-Russian stance. Grin
He says something about Greece being the cradle of democracy and thus being obliged to support Ukraine in its actions (Poroshenko "forgets" that he himself came to power as a result of violent coup d'etat)
HE also mentions ethnic Greeks living in the Eastern part of Ukraine, and that it concerns Greece. As far as I remember Greeks there are in solidarity with the ethnic Russian majority living there. Smiley

In the event you have forgotten the efficiency of the Russian military, remember the fate of the American and Israeli trained and equipped Georgian Army that Washington sicced on South Ossetia. The Georgian invasion of South Ossetia resulted in the deaths of Russian peace-keeping soldiers and Russian citizens. The Russian military intervened, and the American and Israeli trained and equipped Georgian Army collapsed in five hours. All of Georgia was back in Russian hands, but the Russians withdrew and left the former province of Russia independent, despite the lies from Washington that Putin intends to restore the Soviet Empire.

Oh, and Saakashvili is wanted by the Georgian prosecutor's office. When international arrest warrant on him was issues, the first response came from US state department, telling Georgians to lay off, saying something like Saakashvili may be a bastard, but he's our bastard.

An interesting read from Paul Craig Roberts on the way the Western propaganda works:
http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015/02/05/cowardly-despicable-american-presstitutes/

Quote
...
Now to get to the real point. I was listening to this while driving as it was less depressing to listen to NPR’s propaganda than to listen to the Christian-Zionist preachers. In the previous hour NPR had presented listeners with three reports about civilian deaths in the break-away provinces in eastern and southern Ukraine. The first time I heard the report, the NPR presstitute recounted how explosives had hit a hospital killing 5 people in the break-away Donetsk Republic. The presstitute did not report that this was done by Ukrainian forces, instead suggesting that it could have been done by the “Russian-supported rebels.” He didn’t offer any explanation why the rebels would attack their own hospital. The impression left for that small percentage of informed Americans capable of thought is that presstitutes are not allowed to say that the Washington-backed Ukrainians attacked a hospital.

In all three reports, Secretary of State John Kerry was broadcast saying that the US wanted a diplomatic, peaceful solution, but that the Russians were blocking a peaceful solution by sending tank columns and troops into Ukraine. On my return trip, I heard over NPR Kerry twice more repeating the unsupported claim that Russian tanks and troops are pouring into Ukraine. Obviously, NPR was serving as a propaganda voice that Russia was invading Ukraine.

Think about this for a minute. We have been hearing from high US government officials, including the president himself, for months and months about Russian tank columns and troops entering Ukraine. The Russian government denies this steadfastly, but, of course, we cannot trust the now-demonized Russians. We are not allowed to believe them, because they are positioned as the Enemy, and good patriotic Americans never believe the Enemy.

...

Washington and its fawning presstitutes branded the elected Ukrainian government that was a victim of Washington’s coup, “a corrupt dictatorship.” The replacement government consists of a combination of Washington puppets and neo-nazis with their own military forces sporting Nazi insignias. The American presstitutes have been careful not to notice the Nazi insignias.

1239  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: February 06, 2015, 05:29:54 PM
An interesting historical development:

DNR has declared itself an heir of Donetsk-Krivorozhje Republic. LNR is expected to follow suit.
http://www.vz.ru/news/2015/2/6/728328.html

Donetsk-Krivorozhje Soviet Republic was founded on the 12th of February 1918 within the federation of RSFSR. It spanned present Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhje, Dniepropetrovsk, and partially Harkov, Sumsk, Hersonsk and Nikolaevsk regions. The capital of DKR was Harkov, but was later moved to Lugansk. In March 1918 DKR was transferred into newly-established Ukrainian Soviet Republic, and then disbanded a year later.

Now, USA and EU are very keen on maintaining the current territorial legacy of the Soviet Union, so logically, they should support such development. Smiley

On the other hand, from
http://www.russiaotherpointsofview.com/2014/04/russia-report-putin-.html

Quote
March 2000: I arrived in St.Petersburg. A Russian friend (a psychologist) since 1983 came for our usual visit.  My first question was, "Lena what do you think about your new president?"  She laughed and retorted, "Volodya!  I went to school with him!"  She began to describe Putin as a quiet youngster, poor, fond of martial arts, who stood up for kids being bullied on the playgrounds. She remembered him as a patriotic youth who applied for the KGB prematurely after graduating secondary school (they sent him away and told him to get an education).  He went to law school, later reapplied and was accepted.  I must have grimaced at this, because Lena said,  "Sharon in those days we all admired the KGB and believed that those who worked there were patriots and were keeping the country safe. We thought it was natural for Volodya to choose this career.  My next question was,  "What do you think he will do with Yeltsin's criminals in the Kremlin?"   Putting on her psychologist hat,  she pondered and replied,  "If left to his normal behaviors, he will watch them for a while to be sure what is going on, then he will throw up some flares to let them know that he is watching. If they don't respond, he will address them personally, then if the behaviors don't change–– some will be in prison in a couple of  years."  I congratulated her via email when her predictions began to show up in real time.

So why do our leaders and media demean and demonize Putin and Russia???

Like Lady MacBeth, do they protest too much?

Psychologists tell us that people (and countries?)  project off on others what they don't want to face in themselves.  Others carry our "shadow"when we refuse to own it.  We confer on others the very traits that we are horrified to acknowledge in ourselves.

Could this be why we constantly find fault with Putin and Russia?
Could it be that we project on to Putin the sins of ourselves and our leaders?
Could it be that we condemn Russia's corruption, acting like the corruption within our corporate world doesn't exist?
Could it be that we condemn their human rights and LGBT issues, not facing the fact that we haven't solved our own?
Could it be that we accuse Russia of "reconstituting the USSR"––because of what we do to remain the world's  "hegemon"?
Could it be that we project nationalist behaviors on Russia, because that is what we have become and we don't want to face it?
Could it be that we project warmongering off on Russia, because of what we have done over the past several administrations?
