Hi guys, can somebody help me out here? I want to place a chart from paint into the forum. How can i manage this?
I made the chart by myself for you guys.
Please tell me how i can insert a image from paint into bitcointalk  Huh Huh

Upload it to Imgur which'll customise links for you. I think you may not be able to post images that show up until your activity levels goes up. Put up a link, get someone more wizened to quote it and it'll appear.

He is somewhat right.  Anyone can build a LN on top of Bitcoin, but they can also choose how they will let users interface with that network.
The good thing is that it appears (for now) that there will be many options and choices.

Of course, but the exact same thing goes for Bitcoin itself. You can go fully down the third party route but the option to remain on your own terms is always there.
12203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency is solving the scaling problem? on: March 30, 2017, 03:51:32 PM
LN is banking.  Raw, savage banking that is.

Do you honestly think the Lightning Network concept would've received a second glance if that was provably the case?
12204  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe we are under a big troll job by whales and miners on: March 30, 2017, 03:47:07 PM
I thought that's what everyone presumed. You're telling me that some people don't believe this? Bitcoin is the perfect vehicle to relieve silly sausages of their money with minimal effort.
12205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So what if Nigeria seriously starts getting involved in the crypto? on: March 29, 2017, 11:00:00 PM
It already is. Check Localbitcoins volume for Nigeria. Then check MMM.

In the case of MMM though it's a Russian scamming Nigerians which is an impressive reversal.

For a foreigner it's really hard to imagine such thing to happen. It's always been the UK)))

I don't know who feels UKish, but I doubt very many people do. It's a convenient framework and that's about it.

You're likely to get an impressively hostile reaction from your UK brethren if you're from a part they don't appreciate.
12207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency is solving the scaling problem? on: March 29, 2017, 10:47:21 PM
I've always wondered this about certain coins. For example, I pretty much never see congestion on DOGE, LTC, and ETH/ETC. Is it a function of being underused, or have they actually solved the traffic issue?

Most of those coins never leave the exchanges.

Here's an LTC block explorer. There are transactions happening but compared to a Bitcoin block explorer it's a very leisurely read.
12208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency is solving the scaling problem? on: March 29, 2017, 10:36:45 PM
Before any alt claims to have comprehensively solved scaling, we need to see it in operation for a few months before endorsing it. It's dead easy to come up with some cool tricks. It's a little harder to make them cast iron when the pressure is building by the second.

So here's another question, which crypto other than BTC has come closest to maxing out its capacity?
12209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 29, 2017, 09:57:32 PM
Last time I made a prediction here was june 2015,  one bitcoin was $200, I said bitcoin price would be $500 by the end of october, my comment was deleted and I was banned from bitcointalk.

If that was grounds for banning this forum would be completely and utterly empty. Best of luck with your prediction.
12210  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Please help me understand the no border ideology on: March 29, 2017, 09:54:10 PM
I would argue that the people living in 3rd world countries would not migrate westward. Instead what would happen is development in their countries by the world's corporations. Why would they leave when they would have jobs building on their own land and cities.

If I was living in a barrel filled with shit in Guinea Bissau and the world's borders were thrown open, would I wait 15-30 years for my barrel of shit to dry out or move to New York tomorrow?

I'd go for NY. The average person wants it all now and why not?
12211  Economy / Speculation / Re: Solid X ETF on: March 28, 2017, 07:52:03 PM
There is only one more ETF left in the pipeline. If volume on the regulated exchanges doesn't increase, that one will get denied too.

All applications are 100% DOA even if it isn't declared yet. It'll take years before it changes sufficiently and even then they'll probably cite P2P stuff as the reason not to.
12212  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Scottish Parliament voted for the new referendum on independence on: March 28, 2017, 07:01:23 PM
ENJOY YOUR DUMB ASS MUSLIM PEOPLE..They are dumb people they believe in winged horses ..

I lived in the most densely Muslim area of Glasgow for quite a while. It was absolutely fine and they were all perfectly pleasant people.

But even if Scotland did manage to go independent, getting into the EU would be a massive task and actually making a success of it would be even more improbable. I think they're stuck with the rest of the UK no matter what.
12213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 28, 2017, 05:36:34 PM
I bought some bitcoinplus guys. 517% increase today. Not bad at all. I dont expect a bubble. This increase seems 100% natural and stable.  Roll Eyes
Someone is going to get rekt bigtime. Soon...

Congrats on making the diligent choice.

This one is the weirdest of all. 18,000 BTC volume yet there are less than 250 BTC in buy orders.
12214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Solid X ETF on: March 28, 2017, 04:40:00 PM
IT WAS DENIED

Possibly the least shocking development in the history of Bitcoin. Cannae believe they didn't withdraw it themselves but I suppose it was worth a punt if they'd gotten stoned that day.
12215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: R/BTC moderator steps down, announces he is leaving bitcoin for Ethereum on: March 28, 2017, 04:04:41 PM

I don't think merchant adoption was ever going to be the silver bullet that some thought it would be and they'll probably continue dropping like flies.

None of them can solve the straightforward and insurmountable issue which is BTC is wonderful for the merchants, and a shite proposition for customers unless they already have BTC.

Nobody wants to buy something to buy something. On top of that there's the volatility (for the customer), the pain of getting hold of it which usually has a premium and then storing it safely.

The people who already have it are reluctant to let go of it much of the time and they're mainly first worlders with other options anyway.

The fee thing may well have added to the demise but the fundamental turn offs are the same for all crypto no matter what the fee or coin is.

Storj is a separate thing and it sounds like the right choice for them. Circle's a darned shame for the average person but I'm not surprised by that either.

At this stage of the game a vast amount of shit is being slung at the wall. Most of it will slide off again.
12216  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: March 28, 2017, 03:55:16 PM
People holding coins got rich last night from those, and they are still looking healthy for the uptrend.

The only people holding them would be the ones who initiated the bonkers uptrends. As far as I can tell they were borderline forgotten until this 'adoption' occurred. Oblivion will return in a few days or weeks.
12217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: March 28, 2017, 01:17:52 PM
How they select the pump-coins?
Do they just want to say to the quality coins : "you are worthless, the money is made here!"
?
 Huh

For the really stupid pumps like these various Bitcoins, they'll select something forgotten with limited supply that they buy up. It's far easier to pump when you hold all the cards.

XEM's in the sort of middle ground. It's too big to attempt the really stupid games that pumpers get up to and not big enough to shrug off attempts either.

12218  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's going on with BTCJAM.com ? on: March 27, 2017, 11:45:08 PM
It's a nobel idea, as done right it becomes an avenue for the unbanked to loan the capital that they need, that's one of the initial purpose of btc anyway right, to provide financial services to the unbanked.

But it was not done right, so many issues here and there, it didn't prosper.

The unbanked will be just as likely to panhandle free money and bugger off as the little shits who were on BTCJAM already.

There must be a way of doing it right but I've no idea how myself.
12219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your Bitcoin Assets on: March 27, 2017, 11:38:37 PM
Holding with plenty of spending at present. I'm stocking up for a summer adventure and it's all being funded with BTC. Time for it to do something other than sit there.
12220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 27, 2017, 11:20:23 PM
What is xbc?

Well, okay. What is Bitcoin Plus?
Aaaaand... What is Bitcoin Dark?

The BU mafia have told their alt pumpers that they're not allowed to like Bitcoin any more. So this is their little protest.
