DStrange reported that he sent 5 million BCN and 0.3 BTC from BCN's funds.

Both received.

I also received another 0.1 BTC, maybe from surfer43?

Balances:

5439 MRO
0.685 BTC
5100000 BCN

Which file in the source code contains the proof-of-work algorithm?

I've tried to locate it and can't seem to find it quickly.

I want to analyze the cpu-only claim.

src/crypto/slow-hash.c

On quick glance, I see AES code. Is this the MemoryCoin algorithm and not the one described in the CryptoNote whitepaper which is memory latency bound?

I do not think it is the memorycoin algorithm.

Can you do that "getinfo" with curl on Windows, or is that Linux only? (I'm guessing Linux only. *Sigh*)

I'm sure there is a Windows version, but you can just use your browser.

localhost:18081/getinfo or http://127.0.0.1:18081/getinfo if the first doesn't work

Also, I assume these are orphan blocks?
Code:
-------------------------
2014-May-05 22:26:34.698916 [P2P0]----- BLOCK ADDED AS ALTERNATIVE ON HEIGHT 26907
id:     <c4e6b9f9fc08c1134f07d6622d25b2d4f1f9cd0071e893fef1d1e191bb0f06db>
PoW:    <5a8efa15ae51b87d079ce13112ae68683345d7dbd3f37c29b7a7a716d8050000>
difficulty:     2842603
-------------------------
If so, that sort of sucks that I've seen six of those on my rigs so far. Seriously, six orphans and not a single successfully mined block? My luck is bad so far.

They're not your orphans necessarily. Unless it says "found block" you didn't find a block, orphan or otherwise.

Bought 2250 MRO  successfully from NoodleDoodle. He was fast and helpful. I had a bit of a "noob" moment and took longer than I should have. Sorry to keep you waiting NoodleDoodle.

Anyway Smooth, you can close out my order.

Done. Can you report the price please?

Have a total of 350~ hash rate among miners, been a few horus but hope i get something.

Ill be switching everything to monero today. ^_^
It's a huge hashrate! You definitely will get something!
Again, is there a calculator somewhere, or a place to see the network hash rate for MRO? It would be helpful to at least be able to provide people with some sort of estimate.

You can get the network hash rate with curl

Code:
$ curl localhost:18081/getinfo
{
  "alt_blocks_count": 221,
  "difficulty": 2831759,
  "grey_peerlist_size": 436,
  "height": 26970,
  "incoming_connections_count": 5,
  "outgoing_connections_count": 12,
  "status": "OK",
  "tx_count": 964,
  "tx_pool_size": 0,
  "white_peerlist_size": 224
}

Divide the difficulty by 60 to get total hash rate. So for this number we get 47196. Divide your hash rate by that to get your share of the network hash rate.  For example 350 is 0.74% of the network. There are 1440 blocks per day so someone with this hash rate should get 10.656 blocks per day on average.

Someone should send a nice email to mintpal and cryptsy so they can add monero for voting Smiley If noone does i will in a couple of days.
I could have done it weeks ago (from day 2 I considered it). Then I decided not to, because too fast a rise could kill monero. Let it go slowly, it is better for everyone. Slow adoption, wider distribution, better future. Please don't kill the golden goose.

Where are the 0.8.6 Windows binaries? And what is the current block? I'm still downloading (at block 24K or so now) and would like to know how much longer this will take. LOL

Also, do you have to be fully synced up to start mining? I tried "start_mining 6" on my Core i7-4702MQ laptop; hashrate is showing 0.18~0.25 and CPU usage only appears to be one core (13%).
Linux binaries for 0.8.6 + boost (you might still need libicu48 / libicuuc on /usr/lib, though, on Linux)

https://drive.google.com/#folders/0B7RQILpPGrQbYnF2OTA4NklrWmc

Go to the OP and download the blockchain, it will be faster than to manually sync.
http://monero.cc/getting-started has the instructions. Yes, they are tedious, yes, you'll have to follow them carefully, yes even that way it might not work.
I did follow the instructions, I don't want Linux -- sorry. Anyway, it appears mining starts (properly?) once you're fully synced up.

Next question: how do I point multiple rigs at the same wallet? Running Bitmonerod.exe on multiple PCs would download the full blockchain again, and running simplewallet.exe would create multiple wallets. The simpleminer.exe file seems to be the solution, but what is the syntax? If anyone has suggestions/help for running on multiple PCs, I'd appreciate it!

Once you have a wallet you don't need the wallet on every rig. Just use

Code:
start_mining [your wallet public address] [number of threads]

in the daemon window. It will mine to the wallet even without the wallet being on that system.

Make sure your wallet is backed up.

I don't have a powerful machine to solo mine MRO as of now . Can we donate some BCN ?

Yes, I will ask smooth to add a BCN address

I'll post a BCN address for this shortly.

Meanwhile, to update the balance, I received donations from tacotime and myself. The current balance of the GUI bounty fund is

balance: 1010.000000000000

zone has asked for an extra 1 BTC to fork cpuminer and add stratum support for Monero mining.  we're not very far off, can we raise an extra 1 BTC as a community?

I'm sure we can.

What is the status of the pool project/bounty? It seems we have around more or less enough in the fund. Should we convert the MRO to BTC at this point, or maybe the developer would want some or all of it in MRO? After all his work will probably make MRO more valuable.
