Bad news  Sad
I was too careless and lost all my mined spreadcoins. I contacted several data recovery companies and most probably it will be impossible to recover my wallet. Without these spreadcoins I will have no incentive to futher develop and support SpreadCoin.

Sorry for wasting your time with this cryptocurrency Sad

I think I found a way to recover my spreadcoins but you may not like it.

As I lost my wallet.dat I don't know exactly what blocks I mined and exactly how many coins I had.
I can approximately determine block before which my lost coins are situated. Everyone who have mined coins before this block will send them to him/herself (this can be made automatic). This will mean that this coins are not mine. Then, using some hack and releasing a new client I can send myself amount of the rest coins (or maybe less, say 80%).

This rasises two concerns:
1. What if someone will forgot to send coins to him/herself? These coins will still be spendable so he/she will not lost them. This raises the second concern:
2. What if I am a scammer and want just to double my coins, keeping old ones and getting new ones? The only way to prevent this that I see is to limit the percentage of presumably lost coins that can be spend but this is not trivial.

What do you think about such a plan? Is it acceptable in you opinion?

P.S. This way there is no need for anyone to donate coins to me.

And you guys fell for this ?! Shocked

No we didn't, that's exactly why it was not done. The donation proposal was mine, and this was a response to it. Please do not "cherry pick" posts from the forum in order to prove a point that no one cares about.

Just to remind you, if he had said: "I have instamined too few coins, and want more to keep developing the coin because i am a greedy bbastard", we would have donated in the same way, because we wanted to reward him for developing the coin. You don't seem to get that. The community of early adopters WANTED to give him a reward for having created the coin, and we did so. So please, your point was made, you don't trust Mr. Spread, and that's fine. You don't like this coin and that's fine too. We got it. If you have NEW concerns, please post them, but stop repeating yourself.

I'm not dismissing you as a troll because about one in ten out of your posts brings real concerns and constructive criticisms, but those are the ones where you actually write what you think, not the ones where you place lots of quotes, and Complex question fallacies full of passive aggressiveness. So if you keep posting the good ones, the real criticism without malice or implied accusations, you are really welcome as a member of this community. But please, it's getting tiresome to keep separating the wheat from the chaff and if you keep acting that way you'll fatally be ignored in the end.

Eloquently put, for a shill.

When the only alternatives are a hard fork or "I QUIT", what else did you expect them to do ? If any of the donators were legit, they were simply trying to cut the previous month's potential losses. In other words, they were essentially extorted into donating.

Whats next ? Pools ?

THIS JUST IN !

This coin looks more and more like a scam,a sophosicated scam.
so called 'solo mining' huh?
Here is the pool -- http://spr.nonce-pool.com/

How did I know.

Have you ever legitimately EARNED anything in life ?

What is a good and "fair" altcoin and why in your opinion then?

If you spent more time reading my posts (instead of editting them) you wouldn't be asking that question.

of course this is possible but have we more power than the banks?

Banks wouldn't exist if Bitcoin or any other crypto took over.
Thats delusional. Even if Bitcoin become mainstream, big big big big players (im talking Rothchilds and friends) will still have their banks and dollars around, and will not let the system collapse if it weakens their wealth. They will probably come up with a new fiat or something. Yes ideally we should live in a bankless world but I dont see it happening anytime soon.

I don't see how that's delusional, I meant if Bitcoin replaced fiat, I don't see how banks would seize to exist. That will most likely stay around for loans but that's going to be pretty hard if loans were to be given out in Bitcoin.
The possibility of that happening is extremely slim, countries(governments)  wouldn't want to live in a non-corrupted world.

I think someone has been sniffing too many meat fumes. Roll Eyes

Show me one crypto currency that isn't digital fiat and/or how it cannot be manipulated using the bankster's time proven methods.

And wtf about our current state of crypto affairs gives you the impression that we are free from corruption ?

In a public coin, the money supply is public.  That eliminates monetary supply fraud such as counterfeiting or otherwise creating currency without the knowledge and consent of all participants.  It doesn't eliminate all forms of corruption of course.

1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 26, 2015, 12:15:49 AM
I must say that I do enjoy having SPR around and I am excited to see what happens.  I am not investing in it though, as I donīt see the added value proposition in terms of the end user compared to DRK.  The differences are of form,  do the masternodes a little different, do the mining a little different, but nothing different than DRK or BTC for the end user. For now the only end user directed feature I have heard of is copying InstantX from DRK, but DRK already has that. So no original added value from an end user perspective yet, lets see what the future holds.

On the other hand, I dont like investing in anonymous developers and also I have the feeling that some early holders have more power over the project than the developer himself. So in the end, I wouldnt know who I am entrusting my money with.

The last thing that I would say is that the DRK holders that are here have all their bases covered, they already own nice amounts of DRK and is not like they sold those to hold SPR. So the newbies here should be careful and do the same and cover their bases buy some DRK.  Some of the DRK holders here see this as a side investment if it does not go well they still have their DRK so they are OK if it goes well they make some profit, so they don't have much to loose.

Other DRK holders saw an opportunity to buy lots of this really cheap and promote it as an alternative within the community and then others bought that idea as they could buy more of this than they could DRK and are hoping for rewards. Those are all very good valid reasons to take a risk, but again, they all have their bases covered. If you are a newbie here with no DRK holdings you are assuming a greater risk than they are and that puts you at a disadvantage if you have decided you want to support this coin you must hedge your investment and buy some DRK, since for now it is trying to be a copy of a much more established coin, it makes no sense to only hold the copy.  The ones that hold the original and the copy too, have all their bases covered are doing it right. The ones that only hold the copy are running a greater risk and are at the hands of the first group.

Good luck with the project, lets see how it goes.   I am staying with DRK though a lot more to do still. Cheers.

You REALLY wanna talk about initial distribution, when DRK was mined at low diff with a higher block reward, before it was dropped lower, fucking everyone who mined later?

See.. SPR really is a chip off the old crypto fiat shitcoin we know as DRK, with the "fucking everyone who mined later" built right in. Wink

Your fake concern for the miners makes me want to puke. What about the FTC, UFO, Phoenixcoin? ect., early adopters you helped fuck with that neoscrypt bullshit ?

Oh, let's bring that up, shall we? Vehre was hired to code a miner, and he didn't know jack shit. So he came out with slow code that only ran on 13.12. Who fixed it and immediately released, with a speedup? Me. Who further sped that up later and released that too? Me. Who had an obligation to help the FTC community? Not me. Were it not for me, they wouldn't have shit - and you're saying *I* fucked them over?

Do you honestly expect us to believe that you and your shitalgo ponzi cloning chums, would launch a coin without giving yourselves a distinct and unfair advantage ?

Your optimizations are a farse. We're onto the crippled kernel games you are playing.

Great news!

I strongly advise anyone who is thinking of running a Spread Masternode to jump in on testnet. You'll learn what you need to for mainnet and help with the development and bughunting. Please help out if you can. It's free to play and you get to noodle with all the upcoming goodies first.

Also, testnet miners, please DO NOT jump in with huge MH/s - it's not needed, it just raises the diff pointlessly, CPU or just one little GPU if you have to is all that's needed. (Mr Spread please correct me if I'm wrong, I know Spread is fundamentally different from Darkcoin in a few ways.) <<-- Plzz plzz plzz make it so ! lolz Grin

InstantX may going to be our nuclear-weapon, if it gets implemented before dark and we get significant coverage in coindesk and other leading medias.

lol, you don't even have a network (let alone even structure of masternodes) and you're talking about IX. LMFAO.

Darkcoin has even had InstantTX running in testnet.  I've sent a few ITXs myself.

Who knows though, maybe Mr Spread has a better way to do it up his sleeve and will beat Darkcoin to it.

I highly doubt it.

SPR nodes are not even in testnet yet.

Mr Spread is dealing with a cleaner and simpler system than Darkcoin. There are only two moving parts (regular clients and Masternodes) not three like Darkcoin (pools also) and no Darksend code to worry about yet. Consensus transaction locking is a relatively straightforward concept (not to knock the genius of coming up with the idea in the first place, sometimes the most brilliant ideas are obvious in hindsight) but the devil as always is in the details. It will be interesting to see if and how Mr Spread's implementation of IX differs from Evan's.
yeah, simplicity and decentralization are the philosophy of Spreadcoin design~

So where does Mr. Spread's philosophical 80k/ 1300+ block instamine fit in all this ? Has anyone checked up on it lately ?

Will you be just as understanding if/when pools start privkey mining ? (As if they haven't already.)
1250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 25, 2015, 12:54:56 AM
1- 400 freakin 66.xxx SPR blocks were minted during the first 65 minutes after launch. (How many other instamines will we find if we continue to search the block chain ?)
2- This became possible because the difficulty did not adjust as we were led to believe it would. eg. block 400's diff = 0.06xxx
3- At current market value, the 26660+ SPR/ 400 block instamine is worth approx. 18 BTC.

well, i used to get 1K SPR/week by mining with a (slow) CPU on a VPS several weeks after the launch. I even donated 15K SPR to Mr. Spread when he lost his wallet (with 80K on it). So i can't see 26K making any difference in all this. And yeah, we had it easy on those early days. We CPU mined and got thousands of coins. I miss those times...

Whether you intended to or not, you are also misrepresenting what I said about the crippled -->GPU<-- kernel.

Can you elaborate about that? I used the exact same kernels as used by most recent sgminer when i produced the second version of the miner (first version was really "crippled" because it was released in a hurry by Mr. Spread so that tsiv would release his nvidia version to the public). Wolf0 had not produced any of his optimizations for X11 yet, so at the time it was top technology. It is outdated now? perhaps it is, but that is not what i (and most people, BTW) understand by "crippled". So, please elaborate on that.

BTW, nvidia miner is not crippled in any way and uses the most current code for X11.

What do you find normal about a difficulty adjustment algo that decided to take a hike during the first 65 minutes after launch ?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions that SPR has been extensively easymined by what appears to be, a select few.

So Mr. Spread "lost" 80k flash/insta/easymine (may as well call it a PREMINE), eh ? How many others were duped into donating ?

- The block reward was reduced by 90% after block 2200 for no apparent reason.
Time between blocks was reduces from 10 to 1 minute.

Does this mean that the next insta/flashmine will be 10 times as bountiful ?
Hmm, lets see...

So instead of 10 minute blocks with 66.66 reward, we're getting 1 minute blocks with 6.66 reward.

It makes sense that the difficulty would be devided by 10 = 90% decrease.

So over 10 minutes, the block reward stays the same either way.

6.66 * 10 = for one minute blocks
or
66.66 = for 10 minute blocks

Mr. Spread also told everyone exactly how to mine: setgenerate true
It's not like he lied to anyone. He also lost all of the coins he mined. (at least I hope that's true) So any instamine would be gone.

I already know how the block reward was changed. You missed my points so lets try again.

No, fully optimized kernels are based on publicly available kernels (I think).

Do you really expect me/us to believe that a dev/coder would allow someone the opportunity to highjack thier new algo ?

In their right mind, ,no greedy, self serving dev/coder would do such a thing.

My eureka moment with neoscrypt, made it quite obvious that we are being fed these optimizations as if we were pigeons in a park.

eg. After a few minutes tweaking the .conf, some were wondering if I had somehow gained access to the smut imposer's personal neoscrypt kernel.

Nobody is encouraging people to blindly trust. But people should not be afraid of anonymity.
Instead, anonymity is something that should be valued, especially when important people use it.

Would satoshi think it's a good idea to "build trust" by showing his true face publicly?
In the contrary, the establishment would crucify him! And he knows.

PS: I never installed a DRK masternode, although I have owned enough DRK for about a year. But I am going to install SPR Masternodes for sure.
Mr.spread has done what he promised since the first day of lauch till now.
why don't you check his previous posts?  fudding here to buy cheap ? or sth else ? Huh

Do not confuse facts with FUD.

DRK was instamined, as was SPR.
- The first 400 66.xxx SPR blocks were minted during the first hour after launch. This should have caused the difficulty to skyrocket.
http://spreadcoin.net/explorer/index.php?q=400

Now lets see if the typical market and hashpower manipulation techniques used by many/most devs are in effect here.
- The block reward was reduced by 90% after block 2200 for no apparent reason.

- The publicly available kernels are crippled versions of the fully optimized variety.

- The master NOOBdes hype.

hi all ...

just a quick question ...

at almost 180MHash and 24hours of mining - not a single block found and no coins in either of my wallets ...

how normal is this?

#crysx

Just do the math. Smiley

Divide your hashrate by the network's average and you'll get a rough idea of what % you should be earning.

So.. what do you have against decentralization ?

Have you named your privkey pool yet ?

ok ...

currently 4.66GH ...

so 180MH / 4660MH = 0.038626609

which means SOMETHING is likely to have at least had a look into the wallets Smiley

what im saying is NOTHING has happened within a 24hour period in either of the wallets ...

ive been a miner for a while and my farm has grown extensively ... ive allocated 180MH to spreadcoin and followed the instructions ...

NO coin has ever given me nothing ... no coin ...

so either i am doing something wrong - or the chances of 'mining' this coin and getting even small enough to call a deposit into the wallet are very very slim ...

is 180MH too little to mine spreadcoin? ...

as for having anything against decentralization - where on earth did you get that idea? ...

im completely all for it and hell bent on the core of it - as well open sourcing ... Wink

what i dont really understand from your response is this - 'Have you named your privkey pool yet ?'

was that a dig at me? or actually a piece of information that will be helpful? ...

im tired and not too focussed at the moment - its night here :|

tanx in advance ...

#crysx

Nothing personal was meant by any of what I said. Smiley

I had to ask because you are a small to medium sized whale swimming in a pond meant for fish. Wink 3.8% of anything is alot, btw. Don't kid yourself on that one.

Naming your private pool would be helpful as it would help us determine how whale infested this alleged decentralized coin really is.

Yes ! Roll Eyes A multi faceted ponzi is exactly what a dev making fraudulent claims of true decentralization needs !

Fyi.. the 800 mhash whales and insiders will use their unfair advantage to price 99% of you out of the market.

I'll let your imagination decide how their greed and (3rd party Shocked ) control of the network will affect things.

@eduffield and chums and/or wannabe's ..

Have you ever legitimately EARNED anything in life ?

Time to get off that high horse champ. No one has to prove anything to a faceless guy on the internet.

Bitcoin will not be allowed to replace fiat. Governments need to control their tax revenue.
It is for this reason that I think Bitcoin contributes to the avoidance of a cashless society.
Bitcoin doesn't have to replace anything. If it's better, then people should be able to choose.

BTC/ cryptos are nothing more than a false flag/hope with the end goal of ushering in the new world cashless order.

If they succeed, your only choice will be to OBEY lest they void your stash of crypto-fiat, and/or cut your power and /or internet connection.
Et tu Brute? Viva la Revolucion. Jimmy crack corn. Alahu Akbar.
