What about closed beta to a few people, maybe 5-6, for a week or two? Just to make sure everything is order. Also, you could use that time to set up proper marketing campaign and let people know it s about to be there in two weeks time.

This is what usually software devs do, to make sure not to lose clients due to small bugs.

Nice, it s been long time since Fly s had this trend. Now it s the time for this software to launch.

Exodus wallet for FCT must be very close. I think this will be the major catalyst for a rise. Regardless of the strong fundamentals, each of the big alts have their pump time

Daniel from Exodus said that we will see it in this month for sure..

The network seems stable ATM, I think it ll be during the last week of this month.

If you have ask, at this point, when BTC s more valuable then gold, then crypto investments are not for you. Actually any kind of investments re not for you. Good luck.

Well I was up at 5am speaking with the devs.... Wink

ok here is were we stand.....

The front end "software" is mostly finished.

I put together a server yesterday, and brought it home.

The backend is somewhat finished, and the server is being configured now, and then the backend will be loaded on it.

The part that is unknown is what hurdles we may encounter when its finally all put together.

I will say this.. Nico who is lead dev has worked every single say coding this. Ive never seen such dedication to a project. He is on top of it, and has not stopped. We havent really run into any challenges yet.

My main concern is that people will think the first release is the final release. Its NOT, not even close!!!!

The first release will be the basic functions that have been promised as seen in the screenshots and videos.

But, I want to make this , the best it can be, and have sooooo many ideas I want to add.

The problem is, if I add them now, then the release will be months away. So my plan is to release what was promised, and THEN continue to add features through updates, which I want to get automated.

The additional features that will be in the second release will be:

Velocity column:

"Velocity" is this: Its the time between the buy orders.

So , for example if a coin is being bought on yobit at a VERY rapid rate, then this would be a strong indicator of a pump. The buys has to last a minimum of say 15-20 seconds (this is still being studied), and then it will get a rating from 0 to 10 in the velocity column. 0 being dead, 10 being a bot is buying like mad.

Also, in the second release will be a feature that when All of the columns (Volume, price, velocity) all are indicating a pump , all 3 of those colums will flash to really grab your attention that there is a strong possibility a pump is starting.

So there are more ideas I have, but I wont give away the spoilers, youll need to read the book Wink

With regard to payment. Here is how it will work, and its being coded as we speak.

It will all be integrated into the software.

So the software will be launched in windows. There will be a UUID check to make sure the software has not been copied to another computer. Its 1 license per computer.

After that it does a check to see if the software has been paid for and activated, and has not expired.

If the software has been paid for and not expired, it launches.

If it has not, inside the software , it will take you to a registration/login screen.

Once your logged in, you can buy the software, by sending fly using the site, or extend your subscription.

So "the site" inside the software will be in the first release.

Im considering 2 subscription options:

6 months $120 of fly
12 months $200 of fly. (Normally $240)

I think there is enough demand were I dont need an option for 1 month for $20. This will boost the demand for fly, as many people will each need to buy more. Thoughts?

Vegas

Excellent. No objection here. I would probably add some form of sample option, for example 1 week free usage, to people get a grip on what the software can do. Once they get hooked up, they ll much easier buy subscription.

So, if I understood you correctly, this will be published next week.

How far are you from offering that software to the public?

Hey guys,

so, what is the easiest and cheapest way to buyt BTC using credit card. I have been using a few websites but would like to hear your opinion. Also, what Bitcoin debit card you use to spend you coins and why? It s important to be worldwide available, not only US.

Thx.
you can see in localbitcoin. I believe that the best is that you use the exchange service in your own country. it gives you more confidence and security in making any purchase bitcoin.

Nah, that one I wont do. Meeting with people live to exchange BTC for cash s not something I m comfortable doing. Why would anyone do something like that?
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The easiest way to buy Bitcoin using credit card? on: March 04, 2017, 08:52:42 AM
Cex.io is a decent place. it has been around for a very long time and they accept credit cards. I wouldn't call it the cheapest option but it certainly is the safest place to buy/sell bitcoin with credit cards.

and as for bitcoin debit card I have to say as long as I am alive I would never use a bitcoin debit card. I either use bitcoin directly from my wallet to other person/merchant 's wallet or use a fiat debit card. because I find it pointless to use a third party and pay fees on it just to be able to use bitcoin indirectly!

I ve also had great experience with Cex. As for BTC card, there has to be a way to transfer BTC to your fiat debit card without having being visited by your local tax office. That s why I love Bitcoin debit.

This is a use case we have been imagining since well before the network launched. This video is a hypothetical from 2014. We are converting this from hypothetical to reality.

Factom makes an excellent document management system, and mortgages are full of big record-keeping problems.

Here is their blog on this now.. hoping to see some PR now.

+1

If they stop on blog only, I do not know what to say. Am I the only one here who sees discrepancy between an AWESOME product and the way it s being present to the public. Harmony s commercially oriented product, something they can sell outside for a lot of money and it requires Factom. How come there s no huge marketing campaign matching its arrival? Why? How?
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey - How much you are willing to pay - Bitcoin Guide on: March 02, 2017, 03:39:44 PM
If it s decent and you sell, it ll be saturated withing 2 weeks.

So my advice s dont sell it and scale up your own operations.

99% of guides sold online simply do not work cause nobody sane would share a gold mine with other people.

That s nice. Let s see how Factom marketing s going to work this time. Unless there s someone here who thinks this is not the news to share on every possible marketing channel.

I agree they re B2B, ordinary people re not their target group. But this poses the next question, if u were a Factom CEO and think that way, would like your token price to skyrocket or not?

Both sides have obvious advantages and disadvantages.

1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: March 01, 2017, 01:24:30 PM
You are talking too much Smiley

I do. Especially when I am upset.

Upset about people not identifying obvious stuff. Like the fact business re not going to choose a product if they do not know about it or if sales pitch has not been presented to them.

But what can I do about it besides talk or get out, right.

So I ll go waste my time on something I can influence.
1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig info and recommendation on: March 01, 2017, 12:53:12 PM
What do you guys get from 1 480 4 GB or similar card these days? ROI should be about 450 days according to my calculation.

The RX480 4GB is really not a lot better than the 470 version when it comes to mining. The two choices most people pick comes down to going with either the RX470 4GB or the RX480 8GB, and the reason has more to do with the RAM speed than either the GPU core or the amount of RAM.

Basically the 8 GB RX480's have the highest quality RAM that can be pushed the furthest for overclocking and you can net around 31-33 MH/sec on the Ethash algorithm, which Ethereum and its clones use. For Zcash you can probably get around 330 sols off the RX480 and 300 sols off the RX470.

The RX470's usually have slightly lower quality RAM, even with the 8 GB versions, thus why people will just get the 4 GB as you get the cost savings benefit as well. A solid RX470 4GB can yield around 28-30 MH/sec with Ethereum, thus the slight loss of hash is usually more than offset by the lower price. The 470 will also draw slightly less power too, so over a year or two of mining the hash/watt ratio will probably work out similarly.

The other big concern is resale value if everything heads south. Gamers will probably prefer the RX480 8GB over the RX470 4 GB, but of course it all depends on how long you mine with them. After a couple of years the resale value on both will probably be similar anyway as they fall out of favor with gamers.

A RX470 4GB can be had for around $175 on NewEgg shipped, so ROI using nominal $0.08 cent power and 120 watt load (accounts for pro-rated portion of system draw too based on a 5x GPU rig) would currently be 164 days. Although ETH is trading high right now so this figure will likely be overly optimistic due to either the price falling, network hashrate increasing, or most likely a combination of both.

A RX480 8GB can be had for $220, so ROI using the above figures and 130 watt draw would be slightly less at 150 days. Both of these scenarios also assume you are modifying the VBIOS to overclock and under-volt the GPUs to gain the hash-rates and wattage draws listed. Plenty of information on the forum how to achieve these rates, or better so I won't go over that here.

Za1n, this is one of the best explained and written explanations of the RX 470/480.  I would also like to add another caveat to the post - Heat/Sound/ease of strapping.  The MSI Radeon RX470 gaming X 4gb runs at about 65-70C with virtually no sound.  The strapping is easy.  Just ID the chip and determin the 1500 for the Hynix or the 1750 for the Samsung chip.

Excellent explanation, thx Za1n and Aries. Btw, could you explain strapping a bit more? What is that exactly? Changing bios?
1277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: March 01, 2017, 12:45:04 PM
Factom s definitely pick number 1 on the market. The problem is the market does not know that cause the team does not know how to promote it. Unless the goal is not to promote its services to keep the price low. In that case, most of here re in the wrong market.

I recall you saying you're a seasoned crypto veteran, but you consistently act like you're completely new to the scene or just over-invested. People complained similarly about a lack of Ethereum PR just over one year ago. Back when /r/ethtrader had maybe 400 subs. I think their marketing was in the hands of some girl called Linda. No, it wasn't great, but look at where they're at now? Apparently, they didn't NEED the exposure and PR. They were far from a finished product back then. They still aren't.

Yes, yes, I ve heard that story before, not finished product, big stuff ahead, bright future, no need for marketing, it ll sell itself.

You know how many coin forum threads here on this forum contained those words and posts. Almost EVERY SINGLE ONE. Let me just name a few, Hyperstake! TEK coin. Then Solarcoin. Then Clam. NEM also. I could go on and on about the list of coins very even remember. Most of them are dead of about to die soon.

Why? Cause as in every other capitalist market, competition s very harsh and only the best ones survive. Also, every marketing expert will tell you a successful startup needs to invest as much as 50% of their revenues into marketing to keep the business afloat.

If you do take an average crypto portal, let say coindesk, look at their home page.

Out of 10 articles I see, 3 are about Etherum

http://www.coindesk.com/disruption-not-included-ethereum-alliance-spotlights-blockchains-startup-shift/

http://www.coindesk.com/vitalik-buterin-calls-collaboration-enterprise-ethereum-launch/

http://www.coindesk.com/big-corporates-unite-for-launch-of-enterprise-ethereum-alliance/

How many of them is about Factom? How many articles you can find about Factom published in the last MONTH? I dont think you can find 3 in the entire February.

This means all attention goes to Ether, it s not that hard to figure that out. It also means every new investor getting into crypto ll end up in Ether or Dash, 99%.

So where s Factom in this story? We can argue Factom does not target small investors and it does not target institutional investors but it targets companies.

How are companies going to learn about Factom? Magic ball? Pigeon mail? How?

So you tell me in what universe it does not pay for Factom to do some good old fashioned marketing? Not cause they should pump up the token price. Because marketing brings CUSTOMERS, brings COMPANIES. Unless you re gonna argue they have so many clients they dont know what to do with them. You can follow Factom burn rate to figure that one out.

I understand I m gonna be attacked by usual cave trolls again telling me to move into Ether or North Pole but you see, I m an early ICQ investor and I want as much return for my buck. The only way I see that happening is for the world to hear about Factom. Not you or me, who ve been into crypto for ages, but ORDINARY companies who might need Factom service. If there s some other way to spread the news to them about a great product, please do educate me, always willing to learn something new.

Shoot trolls. Smiley

Hey guys,

been out of mining for a long time, used to have 7 rigs in period when LTC was skyrocketing.

Anyway, thinking of building a small hobby rig, miss that buzz sound of GPU fans.

What do you recommend, what card and model and what do you get from it.

Was thinking 470 8 MB, is that the best bang for my buck ATM?

Thx a lot
1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: March 01, 2017, 05:53:53 AM
Paypal s tought to overcome but I do see lots and lots of store and people using BTC. Look at PTC market, almost every single PTC website has introduced BTC and everyone even remotely related to IT s got a small BTC stash.

Those who re not into IT dont. That s the market, ease of use for BTC. That s the place to grow.
