Zeitcoin has also set up a giveaway for MintPal and Cryptsy votes:
http://altcoinauthority.com/altcoin-giveaways/

It seems that it works really great for them.
I compared the vote counts of top 10 coins on MintPal between 10:00 and 10:30 and got the following result:
- KDC: +82
- IXC: +1
- BTCS: +10
- XXL: 0
- ZEIT: +116
- GRUMP: +11
- Q2C: +15

We absolutely need a giveaway for MintPal votes! And with this step, we should also get on the Cryptsy vote list.

100 Q2C - a nice reward

Nice idea!
Announce faucet in this forum and other sites! Votes will come!

Nice graphics :-)

100 Q2C - a nice reward
and how to verify that the person voted?

That would be the problem. We have no chance to verify whether if the person voted or not.
The only way would be something like:
1) The user opens the faucet and clicks on "vote now". The faucet looks for the Q2C vote count on MintPal and saves that. A MintPal popup will be opened for the user
2) The user has to put his votes for Q2C and then close that window
3) The faucet checks the Q2C vote count again and if there is an increase, the user can enter his Q2C address and withdraw the amount.

That should work. It's not 100% secure against exploiting, but it would make it pretty hard for potential cheater.

The problem is that we need to put some custom code into the faucet. That would not be possible with http://earncryptocoins.com, but maybe with the one from jonesT? As I'm a computer scientist, I could implement the mentioned steps above in PHP for an existing faucet.
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Q2C] QubitCoin new secure hashing (CPU/GPU) (NEW) Update 0.8.4.1 on: March 10, 2014, 09:52:56 PM

I'm planning to setup a faucet for MintPal voting. Because the voting is only allowed for registered MintPal users with at least 1 order, there needs to be 2 faucets:

(1) Q2C faucet for users who are already on MintPal and give their vote for us
(2) BC or DOGE faucet for users who don't have a MintPal account yet. They could register there and get a BC/DOGE starting bonus into their MintPal wallet so they are able to do the first order. Then they can vote for Q2C. Further support could be then rewarded with (1).

What do you think?

I think it is a good idea. We must have a faucet.

I have started working on a faucet. hope it's online in a few hours.

how much should we give per hour? or every 10 min 1 q2c?

Good to hear that :-)
The faucet should encourage people to vote for Q2C on MintPal. They can vote every hour, so the faucet should also allow a withdrawal once an hour. But I think, a giveaway between 50 and 100 Q2C would be more appropiate. Nobody would do that work for just 1 Q2C ;-)

I would make a larger donation (thinking about 100k) to your faucet once you've set it up and it is working.
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Q2C] QubitCoin new secure hashing (CPU/GPU) (NEW) Update 0.8.4.1 on: March 10, 2014, 09:41:47 PM
after changing the voting system mintpale we have two choices:
1) ALL registered on the stock exchange, to spend a couple of deals and vote EVERY hour! (best choise!) +Halper idea
2) Make a donation in the amount of 4-5 BTC.

PANIC! PANIC! PRICE is 11 SATOSHI!

 Grin Grin Grin

OMG, 11 satoshi?!?! Where?? Need to buy them!! All of them!  Grin

I'm in contact with the admin from http://earncryptocoins.com to get a faucet for Q2C and BC (BlackCoin - giveaway for new MintPal users to make the first order that is needed to make votes).

The idea with codes or cards is very interesting. Anybody here who has a PayPal account and enough time to do that?
A shop script would be great for that. Does anybody know somethink like that?
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Q2C] QubitCoin new secure hashing (CPU/GPU) (NEW) Update 0.8.4.1 on: March 10, 2014, 11:31:02 AM
.... i just got informed that the dude used bot is one of us here ... not a hater or something he just wanted to see q2c on minpal ... more info to come

so anyone like my idea about giving steam codes for q2c ....we can make a thread about it ..looking for a parter with paypal account and willing to do this

.... or i will just wait for krecu ...
i think that is a great idea, and i dont think that we need to wait for krecu,  we need to continue to promote coin and raise itd value, and im sure that krecu vould agree.

i posted the idea few pages earlier ... no one was intersted ... idk why no one want to ... its a win win trade ..

lets say steam code for 5$ at the time of trade  = 10000 q2c    we make price like 10300     like more 3%

so its up to you where u sell that amount or keep it ....

alot of people don't have access to paypal ..or steamcodes ... BUT they have btc or q2c ...

I don't think that nobody is interested. We've had a lot of trouble yesterday (because of the MintPal botter) and most of us focused on that topic. Now as the problems are solved, we can look forward and think about interesting ideas like yours.

So, do you know a shop where you could buy steam or iTunes cards with Paypal?

I also think that we shouldn't wait for krecu. Nobody knows when he will return.

But how can i make a trade if i don't have any BTC? noise noise noise
Give me your Blackcoin (BC) address on MintPal and I will donate you some of them so you could do your first order! :-)

The steam code idea sounds very interesting. Would you tell more about that idea?

Besides, thanks to the MintPal donators who spent 0.05 BTC, 0.0199 BTC and 0.1033 (!) BTC for Q2C votes.

We will be taking our next voting winner later today (Monday). Exact time to be announced early afternoon GMT. https://www.mintpal.com/voting
Only large donations can help win our coin. (3-4 BTC)
Or maybe we should make a donation to the following poll?

What you think?

Well, I don't think there is a realistic chance that we make it to the 1st place this week. (Or do you know somebody with that much BTC?)
We should let USDe and KDC win, cause they also deserved that.
Then we could try to be the next ones for the next week.
As I understand, the votes won't get deleted, so keep supporting Q2C on Mintpal!

Yes, we are back. Q2C is now the 8th in Mintpal

Yes, now it's time to look forward and further support Q2C.
Login in to MintPal and put your votes! :-)

I also ask you to make some donations to catch up with other coins.
Our donation amount is only 0.068 BTC and from that, 0.065 BTC are from me.
Come on, a small donation of 0.05-0.1 BTC won't hurt you but will support the coin very much!

I've posted this already to the Q2C thread but I want to keep you informed because you were also involved in this incidents in some way.

Okay guys, I'm here with another good news!

I've talked to MintPal-Jay (an admin of MintPal) about the incidents today. Thanks again for the friendly conversation.

The results were:
  • He doesn't blame the whole Q2C community for the things happened. He thinks that the botter is somebody that has no special relation to Q2C, USD-e or KDC.
  • The voting system has been / will be changed so that only registered users are allowed to vote. This will prevent botting.
  • Q2C will be unbanned and gets most of its votes back. Of course, the botted votes will not be counted.
  • The donated votes (about 0.08 BTC in total) will still count after the unban. There is NO loss.
.
My faith in MintPal is fully restored and I want to thank them for the very well handling of the incidents.
Today was a very exciting day, but we all should calm down now and support Q2C again when we are listed on MintPals voting list (in a fair way, ofc). Additionally we should apologize for some bad words that have fallen against MintPal and other coin communities (especially USD-e and KDC).

So, what should we have learned from today?
We should not fight each other. We are neither opponents, nor rivals. Fighting leads only to negative moods and bad words lead to negative reputation. We are cryptocurrency communities, all sitting in the same boat. The only way to master hard times like today is to work together and keep calm.

It looks like a happy end for all of us.
USDe and KDC will most likely be added to MintPal and I already want to congratulate you.
I'm very glad to see that the botter has not achieved to get another coins banned.

Let's hope that the admin will fix the server soon.

A good news today:

I got a response from http://earncryptocoins.com.
The admin said that he will add QubitCoin and we can start a faucet.  Smiley
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SCRYPT] Klondike Coin ★ 16 coins block / 19mil total ★ 0% Premine [KDC] on: March 09, 2014, 06:59:58 PM
Been trying to check out Q2C webpage to find out what the coin is all about and well looks like all of his spamming along with the other guy from Q2C has pissed someone off, the Q2C homepage seems to be down looks like DDOS as it comes back up and then down again, guess they did not think that spamming and attacking 2 highly supported coins would get some kind of reaction. So seems that trying to hurt others has now damaged them more. When will they work it out the best thing is to accept they where wrong, admit it and move on.

Again: Please stop blaming the whole Q2C community because of the action of one individual (where we don't even know if he is a "Q2C member"). We are NOT responsible for his action and as I already said, we expressly distance ourselves from what happened here.
I really don't like what happened here and its even sadder that some guys jump on the coin war train and DDoS the website. That's no help to anyone!

I'm a very active member of the USDe community (all my activity is purely the USDe thread) and I want to congratulate you guys for the legit votes you've been putting in. We're both going to be added this week, and we've earned it.
Congrats Smiley

Yeah, lucky you that the damn botter successfully crushed Q2C first and then we made him stop exploiting other coins.
Q2C would also deserve to be listed but missed the chance because of the one individual  Embarrassed

Congrats to you an I hope that Q2C will get another, fair chance.
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Q2C] QubitCoin new secure hashing (CPU/GPU) (NEW) Update 0.8.4.1 on: March 09, 2014, 05:13:15 PM
Obvious scam scheme by Mintpal, I wouldn't bother to get listed there. I'd like to see Qubits on bter, btc38 and Cryptsy ofcourse.  Wink

I have a suggestion to get many votes in these sites:

1 - Set up a faucet
2 - Put links to bter, btc38 and Cryptsy there and ask people to vote for us
3 - If everybody that visits faucet vote, we will get the votes needed

I also thought about that idea. I would support this with a big Q2C donation.
Do you know someone who could setup a faucet site for voting?

Try this:
http://earncryptocoins.com/

and this:
http://coinok.pw/

Thanks! I registered at earncryptocoins.com and asked the owner to add Q2C to the faucet.

We should find a solution together with MintPal. Let's handle this situation like a serious community without that hating and envy.[/b]
Well they obviously should return the btc. Will they do that? Ofcourse not.

Who knows, maybe they botted themselves.  Wink

@Pateji: Run your qubitcoin wallet with -rescan and -salvagewallet once each time.  Smiley
Looking at the screen you posted, it looks like you were mining on a fork.

We don't know, what happened. At least, that was my donation and thank god it was only $40.
We also stop spreading rumours. Our energy should be focused on rehabilitate the reputation of Q2C.
And this goal can only be achieved by working TOGETHER instead of fighting each other.
1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SCRYPT] Klondike Coin ★ 16 coins block / 19mil total ★ 0% Premine [KDC] on: March 09, 2014, 04:48:08 PM
@vvillukee: PMed you and reported your posts. Please stop posting such bullsh*t.
I'm from the Q2C community and I hate that other people get mad to us because of you.

I don't know, who you are and what you want, but STOP THIS!

To the other ones: In the name of the Q2C community, I want to excuse for the behaviour of that guy.
I can clearly say that we do NOT stand behind this.
We hereby dissociate ourselves explicitly from all actions taken by the botter and vvillukee.

The fact Q2C was removing through any ballot is only the way to cause inconvenience by zeroing any votes. It causes not only Q2C, do anyone read posts in USDe thread?

or in KlondikeCoin thread
post #8867
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=407705.8867
The same methods. Someone is dumping the votes, it seems like intrigue to push something staying below the leaders.
Need to explain situation to mintpal admins in order to recover unfeigned votes.

I also agree.

I'm not the developer of Q2C or any representative, but I try to speak for the good for our and other communities:

We don't yet know who the botter is, who achieved to get Q2C banned from MintPal.
We will investigate and take the right action.
But in the meanwhile: Please calm down!
It won't help anyone by discrediting another coins (USD-e or KDC).

And whoever that user is that recommend to bot with VPN in the other coin threads (KDC + USD-e): Stop it!
You damage the reputation of Q2C plus the reputation of the other coins. There is NO winner in this fight, just loser.
I'm also very angry at the botter and at MintPal, but bashing against each other won't solve our problem.

We should find a solution together with MintPal. Let's handle this situation like a serious community without that hating and envy.

1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SCRYPT] Klondike Coin ★ 16 coins block / 19mil total ★ 0% Premine [KDC] on: March 09, 2014, 04:17:30 PM
Yeah guys, can we stop feeding the trolls please? Just ignore them. Mintpal have been contacted and these guys are obviously just trying to get a reaction.

As others have said, let's not start any kind of flame war with another coin. If someone from the KDC community was on another thread trolling, would you say the whole KDC community are like that?

(I'm from the Q2C community and I feel extremely offended by statements like "The childish Q2C community, etc.")

Thank you for that words, Jes159. We should really stop fighting each other.
That's not good for both sides, Q2C and KDC.

This is a very bad day for Q2C because of ONE individual.
The whole community has to suffer because of the botter.

Like you, I'm very upset and angry at the botter.
