1261  Other / Politics & Society / Re: DHS To Scan Payment Cards At Borders And Airports on: November 08, 2012, 12:57:43 AM
1. Read the magstripe of the card at home.
2. Encrypt and upload it to internet.
3. Erase the original card.
4. Write this to the original card:
Track1:
Code:
%B6666666666666666^MYSTERY/MINER^13106666666666666666?
Track2:
Code:
;6666666666666666=13106666666666666666?
5. Laugh at controlfags when they scan the card.
6. Get to destination, download the original and write ir back to card.

Additional steps require making sector by sector image of the harddrive and uploading it to internet too. Encrypting and taking and writing down the checksums of the image is good idea also. Then use DBAN to erase the harddrive. You cross border with blank harddrive.

Thanks for proving my point MysteryMiner... unable to provide a shred of proof for your claims, WTG!

What should I prove? That BFL have no ASIC devices?

You can safely ignore MysteryMiner, ElectricMucus and the like... they are just butthurt over the fact that they didn't get in the pre-order for any ASIC devices, so they try to poison the waters through bitterness.
TROLLOLOLOLL am I butthurt for not losing money in scam scheme? If the ASIC are real I will probably buy the device straight away!
Quote
If you don't believe me, ask them to back up their ridiculous claims with any sort of proof...
The burden of proof is on believers side! All I can tell is that there is no proof of existence of ASIC chips but they are keeping posting bullshit and even promoting the preorders trough stupid people and contests.

Better give us:

1. Actual pictures and video of working devices.
2. Mining software source code, no matter if it is unstable or alpha.
3. Real performance data. The ASIC are ready at least 2 weeks! Why so long testing?
4. Manufacturer (the fab) of the chips and any additional data.

Then we can start to talk that the "pink elephant" aka ASIC exists!

+1 however that's not how Big Brother sees it, especially when it comes to things like financial privacy. You can't explain where you got $1,000,000 from? Oh, you must have got it illegally then!
They are starting to search from wrong end! They must look from where money are missing to discover a crime! I can find the $1,000,000 while walking in the hills. I have already found 5$ and 10$ banknotes in such way!
1265  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB - 1 BitcoinBase for PayPal on: November 07, 2012, 11:46:50 PM
With PayPal the buyer needs to be reliable. You can chargeback PayPal payment but there is no way to take back sent Bitcoins.
1266  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: $120 Moneypack for 10 BTC on: November 07, 2012, 11:37:31 PM
I offer mikewillz to load the moneypack to my PayPal and I can buy the BTC with PayPal from someone else here. I don't know how much people trust me not to charge back but let's make a try if no other options are available. I need a small tip for me to cover all expenses.

P.S. be careful when sharing images with metadata:

You just need a computer with USB to run it. I'm not sure on the initial supported operating systems.
You forget that you need the actual ASIC to run it! I have read 2 weeks ago that the rigs are available and being tested. Why there is no video of them, no actual pictures, anything! Pure scam that no fanboys and early losers are willing to acknowledge!

Lol.

Not reporting a crime is a illegal in quite a few countries as well, so should we add, "went there accidentally and did not buy or see anything."
Maybe we all should go to SR and flood police with tens of thousands of reports every day and request proper written answer from police about progress of crime investigation? This will be real world DDoS against the pigs.

Remember when Bill Clinton said he smoked it, but did not inhale? Now that is a ridiculous thing to say.

In USSR you must denounce the book https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gulag_Archipelago by saying: "I have not read the forbidden book but I already know that it is full of wrong shit!" Saying that You have merely read the book You will get in all kinds of trouble with KGB and Communist party.

In western world You must say this

I have been there, but never bought anything. I assume most bitcoin peers have never bought anything from SR.
to avoid the same consequences!

That would be pretty similar to cash. Except electronic cash.
Cash can be marked by cops. Cash can be counterfeited by criminals. Cash can be inflated by government. Cash can be declared obsolete by government. Cash cannot be sent in seconds across globe.

Bitcoin have solved all these problems that cash have.
Quote
I agree on the fact that we got all this credit cards and big companies managing it and tracking everything you do
They monitor and store forever every purchase but they fail all the time to prevent credit card fraud. With credit cards almost no security is gained at a cost of total loss of privacy. Dumb asses who use credit cards every day instead of cash deserve to lose both privacy and security!

Bitcoin technology is a new weapon in arms race that have given us years and years of lead versus oppressors. The Silk Road is only a demo what is possible with technology when the flow of money cannot be controlled or traced by government or anyone else except the two persons involved in transaction. The AML have failed to stop such things to happen, it only is used for Big Brother to know how much money You have and what taste of anal lubricant You buy. This AML nightmare will not stop financing Wikileaks, Al-Qaeda, Santa Claus or anyone else that is not favored by government! I can make a donation to Hezbollah within seconds with few mouse clicks and with total anonymity. With my Credit Card I can only buy kosher-enabled food at local supermarket and pay card processing fees.

Anything that requires hiding your tracks must have something ilegal about it.

Transparency is the only way to go
Practicing hiding your tracks from increasingly oppressive government is illegal? If You have nothing to hide can you please stream live webcam feed from your bedroom and toilet?

Having privacy and means to deprive Big Brother from possibilities to blackmail you is not indication of crime.

Maybe… some SR users are even talking about it using their real names on the clearnet…
I'm not using Silk Road officer Piglet, I invented my post from rumors I have read on clearnet.

If you are going to buy a legal item from SR, can't see why cops might want to harvest your address.
Probably to catch the lowest hanging fruit? I dont know about legal consequences for cops to sell real drugs but selling legal items is legal for them. Information gathering. Maybe some high profile member buys some mining equipment from them so they can catch him.
Quote
so how do you order things if you cant have them delivered to your house?
Please read the Silk Road wiki. It have covered almost everything from ordering to receiving item.
Quote
If its not an illegal item why would it matter if the feds had my address.
You might want buy something illegal later using the same user name. The less they know the better.
Quote
also, is it wise to give drug dealers and probably gangsters your address?  especially if you make a large purchase. They could realize you have a decent amount of money and come track you down.
If you are going to buy any amount of drugs it is good idea to have so called "drop" that is unrelated address to you. And no, the drug dealers will not come to your address if they are not cops or informants. They don't know if you have money, drugs or anything valuable to that address. They don't even know if you are not a cop with swat team waiting them in that address. Or maybe large gang of other dealers that will goatse them.

I think most things are illegal in many countries (at least somewhere in the world)
It is absolutely true. In USSR in some point of history it was illegal to privately own typewriter or handgun. Typewriters are legal in USA as well as most handguns and rifles, but the same guns in most of Europe will get you many years in prison. The cocaine and heroine was legal to own and use in most parts of world in early 20-th century. Now the same bottle with the same substance will ruin your and your families life! And not by addiction but by cops and lawyers! The "legal or forbidden item" game is invented for retarded children to play. Real man get what they want!
1276  Other / Off-topic / Re: am i the only bitcoin user that has never seen silk road? on: November 07, 2012, 07:00:34 PM
Not only drugs. There is also a legitimate computer equipment and electronics like video cards and cables or flashlights. But use different SR username and shipping address if you are going to buy legal item. They might be cops trying to harvest user shipping addresses and other information.

If the porn mode was used with Firefox then only place where the URL might be stored by chance is the swapfile.

Being over paranoid sometimes is counterproductive if something is not done properly.

Thanks for all replies but computer has now been power cycled so coins are gone.
Power cycling is not so bad as letting OS and software to write data to it. When something is lost from hard drive by deletion the best action is pull out the power cord to write as less information as possible.

Anyone who thinks they may be able to crack it then you're welcome to the booty!
For that I need the physical hard drive or at least properly made sector by sector copy of it. I doubt anyone will trust me with such information as I might recover other data.

To build ASIC you need degree in microprocessor engineering
And some millions of $ to make the masks and to invest to start producing the chips.

It's not like with FPGA where you run a program in your computer, code the bitstream, buy a fpga for 500$ and then copy-paste the bitstream in it.

To make an ASIC you must do the blueprints of the chip and then pay to produce the masks to produce the chips. Millions of $!
Or You could take preorders to fund the development of ASIC chips. Or even better - take preorders, pretend that ASIC chips are in development, run away with money! That is what BFL are doing right now!
Quote
Still not sure their advent would be a good thing.
It is next logical thing to do. And the best. We don't need to wait for government to build ASIC and pull DoS attack with >50% while we are mining with GPUs that are orders of magnitude slower!
