Well, people can do things in the heat of the moment, no justification needed.

He said he is going to create a class 1.5 supernode, I will rest my judgement until the day he comes up with something, to see if it's a "BFL" or an "ASICMiner".

Yeah and if that is that case...being irrational in the "heat" of the moment shows that this guy isn't someone you want giving you financial advice.

"In the heat of the moment" implies EMOTION...very bad when it comes to trading or trolling lol. Pick your poison. If you can't handle the concept of either, you shouldn't be doing either.

I am Smoothie... Grin Grin Grin

Advice? Advice cannot be absorbed without judgement, and while he provided a lot of useful information, his advice is what I have known for a long time, just f**king BUY BUY BUY Grin

People accumulate wealth mostly for pleasure, maybe rpietila just feels good about throwing a stash of money on a noob's head and ask him to GTFO, who knows.

Bolded is false. He just sold this week. So no it isn't "BUY BUY BUY".

What he did != his advice. Grin

Oh right....."DO WHAT I SAY NOT WHAT I DO"....ROFL haha utter fail again  Grin

Frankly sometimes cypher was the same, blahblahblah tells you you should sell, but I will not, so you need to make your own decision. Grin

Where did he do this?

I trolled him but I never seen that part.

OH and...nice try to divert attention to someone else when clearly the contradiction of what "reptilia" says and does is BLATANTLY CLEAR. Try addressing that as opposed to bringing Cypher into the mix.

Oh...how come all these hostilities, I was not trying to divert your attention, just trying hard to fit into the troll style.Cheesy But back to him, I have already made my point clear, haven't I? I guessed he may just felt good by being able to throw a stash on a noob's head, and ask him to GTFO. Rich guys could be like that, you know.

http://blockchain.info/charts/bitcoin-days-destroyed-min-year?showDataPoints=false&timespan=all&show_header=true&daysAverageString=7&scale=0&address=

What does this graph tell you? Time factor is about twice/thrice as large, yet the days destroyed metric has never been above the 2011 peak.

Unlike in 2011, most of the coins are not in the hands of early miners, the majority of whom had long cashed out, other than real core elites/seasoned loyal believers, there is not an abundant supply of bitcoins on the market.
You have failed to read my post. I was talking about how a larger share of newly generated coins is provided to the market as profit margins go down and its effect on the behaviour of dormant supply.

Also, Bitcoin Days Destroyed is a usless metric that is easily manipulated.

I wasn't replying to you.

But I am curious to know how do you manipulate this metric?

I think there is a fundamental difference: at 2011 there were way too many with weak hands holding way too much, for which they got at a way too cheap price, at this moment they are mostly out.

And we should not forget, a billion dollars market is quite a bit more difficult to manipulate than a million-dollars market, anyone remember the pandemonium that was Nov 2011(Bitcoinica, etc)?
1267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: April 27, 2013, 06:30:36 AM
I think an influential "off-the-market" rate will only work if Bitcoin doesn't need to compete as a currency with fiats anymore(including what I said previously about Feds started to peg dollars to bitcoins), at that point, the rate would simply not matter.
1268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: April 27, 2013, 06:15:19 AM

Okay but pegging anything at a fixed price more often then not will net you a loss. Either due to no interest to buy at that price or people saying "okay you wanna sell btc at $100 when the exchange price is $1000, I'll buy your whole stash".

...

EXAMPLE: My local coin shop will not sell silver less than $35 per ounce when the "SPOT" price is $23. So I don't buy from them I look else where. They can suck my cock before I ever buy at that price.

Let me try to clarify (again) using your example:

YOU: "I'll buy your whole stash [for the Bitcoin Foundation's fix]."

  ME:  "Suck my cock."

Yes and my point, there is no point on a fixed price...you will get burned more likely than not.

I still don't see your point. Yes people will sell at their own price. But making that price FIXED is UTTERLY STUID.

Not really.  It gives me an 'official' number I can use when I feel compelled to do so and when it serves my interest.

In the same general vein, and as Max points out, it de-couples the exchanges as formal market makers and isolates them from certain hassles that they otherwise might have to deal with.

The 'fix' would likely have little to do with real-world market values, but that is not the goal.  If the Bitcoin Foundation found it of interest to try to mark to market, fine.  If not, that's fine too.  This is just a reflection of every other market in our modern financial system and they all work about the same.

An 'official' number is useless, speculators wield way much more power than some of those here would believe.

If a bunch of sheepish bitcoiners start to cautiously follow bitcoin foundation's recommendation on buying/selling, they will soon be overwhelmed by a sudden inlfow of fiats/bitcoins.

The most realistic way I can think of to roughly pegging the Bitcoin price is the Feds start printing greenbacks at a rate directly proportional to the Bitcoin creation rate, but if it were to happen....then we would have won already?  Huh
1272  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What's ideal to buy & sell with bitcoin? on: April 27, 2013, 04:22:09 AM
It's fit for oversea shopping by 3rd world nation citizens.

If you can't send your payment through any other means, Bitcoin becomes the only option.
1273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: April 27, 2013, 02:07:44 AM

note how this came at the expense of the average Chinese laborer whose purchasing power was eroded every step of the way.

This is of course only true under the assumption that foreign goods are readily available to common Chinese laborers, while in reality other limitations have already precluded this possibility.

In fact it's through the experience with such limitations that I came to realize Bitcoin's potential: the demand for oversea shopping is huge in China, yet up to this moment no single decent payment method exists to satisfy such demand.

Pity I can't convince my fellows that the banks would not be so kind to them....

you claim to have 2.4k btc?

i really think you wasted 13 btc here.

giving away 13 btc does not prove you have 2.4k and even if it did 2.4k is odds are the average balance for a donater to the forum. anyone why do you want us to know your balance?

looking to get hacked?

What about "because I can"?

And yes, he is doing us a favor, if this noob doesn't send back, then he shouldn't expect to show up and talk shit again without his ears being grabbed.

You know how much you need to pay a botnet to have a few hundred thousand CPUs running litecoin clients? Probably no more than 10 thousand dollars, hmmm..... Roll Eyes
