12741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IndoCoin - Indonesian Crypto Currency | No IPO | PoW | 60 Block Premine on: July 02, 2014, 01:27:19 PM
Mine some more until you have at least 1 million Smiley It's easy to mine them

The is no such thing as easy money.
The coin is easy to mine because people have lost faith that this coin will go to the so called "moon".

Also , the hype from the so called nation coins is long dead.
12742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: July 02, 2014, 01:23:11 PM
The respectable Media is talking about Aurora http://www.bbc.com/news/business-27867781
It's the good fundamental signal, at least you have to look after this coin....

Quote
The krona has halved in value since the banking crisis of 2008
Auroracoin has lost 99.9%  of it's value since March.

What to choose ,  what to choose?

I choose AUR, because the loss of value is a result of the free market. The loss of value of the krona is a result of central authority decisions.

I would chose what my stomach wants.
And sincerely I doubt that anybody would give a if the krona is manipulated by the government when they buy food for their family.

Unfortunately , no altcoin has a value decided by the "free market".
It's just bag holders playing in virtual exchanges.

12743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: July 02, 2014, 01:18:26 PM

w8 , we have a pool with around 75% hashrate and nobody ever mentioned it?

Nobody cares.
Why even bother launching an attack on this coin.
It's like poking a dead bird anyhow.

Still , why hasn't anybody who still believes in max come out?
Probably because they know the coin is faulty to infinity.
12744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin - PoW reward for solar energy | the GREEN KING of Crypto on: July 02, 2014, 01:15:43 PM
Think of it this way too, there was a time SLR wasn't on any exchange, it had an effective value of zero but we still mined it. It's still very young and the real meat of the technology isn't even implemented yet, it's all still in the test phase. Why would you give up on something in the beta phase after a few hiccups?

Because when the coin was not on any exchange all the holders dreamed of hundred of $ for a coin but when it hit  the exchanges , time passed people started to wake up.

Reality is harsh sometimes.
12745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NYC] New York Coin FORUM on: July 02, 2014, 01:13:13 PM
what proof do you have, that there is things going on behind closed doors.

There is no proof. Just people who still hold nyc and try to spread some rumors to dump their coins at a smaller loss.

The idea behind the coin was plain stupid from the start , the airdrop to those 50 people a joke and so on.

And furthermore , the people trying to promote it are not even american as their english is more chinese than american.
12746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CATc] Cataloniacoin · Conference soon thanks to a Google dev · SCRYPT-N on: July 02, 2014, 01:10:06 PM
Seems like at least in terms of cryptos Catalonia is glued to Spaincoin.
Both are utter failures Smiley.

Sorry for making jokes as I know there are a few bagholders still waiting for news but this is the harsh reality.

12748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | cPoW | PC mining | Stability | Hashcows - QRK Payouts on: July 02, 2014, 12:54:21 PM
erm. huntercoin has a game built directly into it and its blockchain. Quark cant beat that sorry

lol what kind of game? Quarks half million dollar game will be distributed to non tech and casual gamers who use pc and console outside the Crypto community which is great for spreading the word for the sake of Crypto.

Another wishful thinking.
Quark will be used a "one" of the payment options in the game.
Less than 10% of the gamers that play diablo have a paypal account. Only a few decided to open one (and we're taking about diablo 3) because of the game.
How many will start learning about quark based on this average game? 20, 100?
12749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Q on: July 02, 2014, 12:49:24 PM

Quark is not collapsing because people don't want to sell it , but those people will also not use it as paying for something because they want their coin to go up so there will be no usage.
Reminds me of a twisted version of prisoner dilemma

I had no idea Quark is collapsing :-) you remind me of some bitcoin-haters that said couple of months ago that it will collapse and will reach $10. No point hating a coin for the simple reason its different from Bitcoin.

Regarding your point about consumption I would rather attribute that to deflationary currencies than inflationary ones like Quark because if I hold 1 btc now I'm more incentivised to keep it till it'll reach a certain price in 6-12 months, while if I hold 1 qrk I know the value won't go up in price alot more because the protocol will create more quarks each year so I rather hold more faith in an inflationary currency for day-2 day transactions than a deflationary one, right ? I mean, all bitcoiners - myself included, are waiting for the moon so we can dump it and buy a island, but with Quark I don't have those aspirations and I only hope it'll be accepted at more merchants so I can use it for my internet purchases.

My words:
Quote
Quark is not collapsing

You start your phrase with:
Quote
I had no idea Quark is collapsing

Secondary , right now bitcoin is printing far more coins than quark , quark is at 1% inflation while bitcoin is at 10%.
So , all your mumbo jumbo from the first paragraph is flawed.

Third , let's compare how many merchants accepted quark this year and how many bitcoin this week.

Comparing quark to bitcoin is a lost battle.

12750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 02, 2014, 12:44:59 PM
Wouldn't you want to follow these folks home to see where the money is going?

VesperWillow, I'm not sure you understand fully what people are dealing with here if you are encouraging people to 'follow these folks home' in an area just a few blocks from Moss Side.

See those steel shutters in the picture of the Alpha-T office ? There is a reason why they are there.

See that video camera on the building next door ? Ditto.

Seriously.

Don't worry the forum is full of keyboard warriors.
If it was different a few guys from BFL would have already been run down by cars or hanged or god knows what.

I saw so many threats but they still appear in public at conferences and nobody dears to throw a glass of water at them.
12751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MZC] MazaCoin *National Currency of the Traditional Lakota Nation* | NEW THREAD on: July 02, 2014, 12:41:45 PM
"What?  Have you been reading the comments of his Filipina friends on social networking sites?"

-> No, what do they say?

"The lakota don't care about any coin. How can they even dream of using mazacoin? Do you know the harsh reality of how those guys live?
Btc investors don't wnat to give this coin value because it was a hype nation coin , and that hype is long dead."

-> Well, first the BTC investors gave mzc a 12million marketcap, then the Lakota leaders did not want to make the currency official. Now I believe it's their turn. By making mzc official they could set the spark.

Hopefully some other tribe will see the potential that mzc can offer. It is now the Native Americans turn (as I said the BTC investors all ready proved on the month of may what is possible).

What potential? What is special about the coin? Only the name.
You and I can make easily another mazacoin with the same specifications and it will reach probably the same value with nothing to back it up.

Go and launch another bitcoin , will it reach 600$/coin?
12752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia planning to push Dollar in crisis ? Chance for Bitcoin ? on: July 01, 2014, 11:20:59 PM
The US has a trade deficit of around $40 billion a month, China has a trade surplus of around the same, who would you rather offer credit to?

Germany Wink.
Why deal with countries which are both manipulating their currency more than quarkcoin or maxcoin ?

The Euro's likely just as bad for manipulation but Germany would probably be my choice too, they've worked their way out of more economic black holes than anyone else I can think of. Recently a renowned US economist made a laughing stock of themselves for claiming Germanys strong exports where a threat to the German economy :/

What a coincidence
I just run across an article about that comment when searching for Germany trade balance numbers:

http://www.europeaninstitute.org/EA-January-2014/perspectives-the-german-trade-surplus-bane-or-boon.html

But really , producing something usable is bad...... better producing useless fiat currency , right?
Too bad that piece of paper is still backed by something more important than economic growth.
12753  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: July 01, 2014, 11:16:15 PM
bummed that USA lost that game!   Belgium was outplaying them the whole time though...   I really wanted to see USA vs. Argentina

I want to see an all European final from the moment the referee decided that penalty kick in brazil vs croatia. Or at least without sa teams.
Belgium has far more chances in a match against Argentina than the US , that's why I was cheering for them.

12754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NewEgg accepting BTC!? on: July 01, 2014, 11:13:13 PM
here's another one announcing it's going live (autumn) with Bitcoin !

This is today.

http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20140701-906106.html

Main engine ignition.

Expedia , Flowers , Newegg and the price is actually going backwards.
This happens when the price is decided by a few traders and whales and not by usage.

Also according to some  Germany has already claimed number 1 spot in trade balance from China.

The dollars dead, deal with it. The only thing the US exports in any quantity these days is conflict.

http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/5/20/russia-china-bankdeal.html

Quote
But the BRICS countries — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, a bloc of the world’s five major emerging economies — have long sought to diminish their dependence on the dollar as a means of reshaping the world financial and geopolitical order. In the absence of a viable alternative, however, replacing it has proved difficult.

The brics countries are themselves in such a deep s*** nobody really believes in them anymore.
They are all facing far more problems than Europe and the US right now.

Economists: Global GDP growth on the rise, but BRICs disappoint
http://www.autonews.com/article/20140415/GLOBAL/140419902/economists:-global-gdp-growth-on-the-rise-but-brics-disappoint

And the dollar is so dead ...
I hear that more often than the chinese ban on bitcoin , and it has the same impact.

LoLz... I understand that u have a shitload of USD reserve in your bank account. But, when reports of Oil curtail's accepting BTC is coming up, u should seriously consider to convert them to BTC.... at least half of them Wink

I actually have more bitcoins in my wallet than usd in my bank account.
Also , I doubt I have ever used the usd in my life. Smiley.

So you're understanding nothing.

holey diff increase batman!!!!!

Again the same story with all the new coins.
One more or less failed start , then out of the blue a huge dif increase while some heavy miners take their share.

The moment it hits the exchanges , prepare for the dump.

Belgians to go through.
But I have to say the stoppage time given in the end was really low. 1 minute was nothing and not correct IMO.

1 minute 2 minute...
They had 90 minutes when the us barely managed to give the belgium goalkeeper something to do.
Match statistics:

shots on target :   18 - 5
shots off target :   13 - 7

The match is played in the 90 or 120 minutes , not in the extra time.
12759  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: July 01, 2014, 10:35:32 PM
3 minutes to go.
No offense to all us fans but if they manage to score it will not be a fair result on how the entire game was played.
and Belgians are through .. to the Quarterfinals against Argentina.  Good Night everyone.

Argentina is not what I was expecting before the start of the world cup and I think they will have a very hard game with Belgium.
Not a fan of South American teams either but still Belgium is going with the 2nd chance.

This is what I received upon cancellation request:

"Hello there,

I am very sorry but as per our cancellation policy which is legally binding it has been longer than 5 months since you placed your order therefore you are no longer eligible for a refund. We must say we have been very clear and open with our terms of order, it was released as a news update, it is easily available on our website and you are requested to view it on the product page before you order. I can assure you that our legal matters are dealt with by a leading law firm in the UK. I can assure you that the terms of order are completely legal in the UK. Our terms were typed up by solicitors who specialize in this area of law. They have advised us that all our customers will be legally classed as businesses for many reasons and one reason being that the hardware we are selling can only be used for either mining cryptocurrencies or for resale unless the customer can prove anything other in court which is of course not possible as our devices have no other use.

Best Regards,

Alpha Technology Team"

What do you think?

I think we have another hashfast here.
And that didn't end to well for the customers ordering.
