13721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 12, 2014, 12:56:05 PM
F**k Cryptsy, really.

Yeah , everybody is "fuck" cryptsy but everyone wants their coins listed there , and everyone is taking the price from there and selling their coins there.
13722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LEAF] LEAFCOIN - ETA NEXT BLOCKHALVE 2014/02/18 T 07:41:19 on: February 12, 2014, 12:52:06 PM
As long as we got this cheap coin with "to the moon" written on it, LEAF will remain an alt-doge. Just like mooncoin. I really think it's time for a reshaping and a clear, serious business plan. LEAF need merchants and service. As well as a clean and proper logo.

I'm afraid that the developpers of this coin have no idea about business and communication. This coin have good potential, nice and pure name, you guys need to properly orientate your product on the market.

Sorry for grammar.

That's a general problem for all the alts. But real merchants (not 1 page webstores) are not accepting cryptos that easy. Especially with this flood of alts.
13723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][pandacoin] The Panda Coin ♥ Scrypt Adaptive-N w/Kimotos Gravity Well ★ on: February 12, 2014, 12:47:05 PM
A few questions.

First, how will we be sure we are not buying the other pandacoin on an exchange? This seems slightly risky (kind of noob trap)

Secondly, This coin already exists, with no premine, and it's called vertcoin. I have nothing against clones, but the advantage of this coin is only to be backed by community important people like wolong?

Just curious, thanks in advance for your answers.

I think the other coin code is "PAND" and this one is "PANDA"

PANDAS will be out this week , I'll bet.
13724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][pandacoin] The Panda Coin ♥ Scrypt Adaptive-N w/Kimotos Gravity Well ★ on: February 12, 2014, 12:45:18 PM
Why you guys called it like this... A panda coin already exist, this is really confusing...

If you haven't notice yet, here is the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399127.0

We don't need an other Panda, you should rename your coin.

Yes.. agreed. Why not "Panda Gold Coin"
+1 to this

It will take just a few weeks before another Panda Gold Coin appears.
You should go for Real Ultra Super Gold and White and Black Panda 34 Coin.

Here is a little contrarian hope for those of you who feel like sitting ducks:

This one time, Bitcoin is dying for sure. Cheesy Cheesy

Usually when you show up trolling like that things start getting better and better.
13727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.5 Released! on: February 12, 2014, 12:33:51 PM
Look at litecoin's historical graph, i see this happening to DOGE also when the time is right.

http://coinmarketcap.com/ltc_180.html

Marketcap value had gone insane couple of months ago:

around 17 October:       $45,000,000
around 15 November:   $100,000,000
around 17 November:   $250,000,000
around 26 November: $1,242,000,000 at its peak.

That all happened in less then 2 months, i think that is AMAZING

1. DOGE is rapidly being added different exchange websites
2. DOGE is very cheap to buy into (especially for new investors who haven't been there from the beginning)
3. DOGE is more easily distributed due to price and the fact that not only nerdy people are into it

I think the next coming months are going to be EPIC a lot of people will get rich(er) due to this coin.

there's always the opposite side btw

You mean the late buy-ins who hope to make a quick buck? The people who need to buy in at HIGH prices after which many early adopters will leave?

You make it sound like a ponzi scheme if you say it like that.

"Honest, Ethically, Revolutionnary..."

If the first thing someone say is "I am honest", it's probably because he isn't.

Yeah , and "Revolutionary" means it's the same old scam. Smiley)
13729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining is unsustainable on: February 12, 2014, 12:31:24 PM
Just how many times and how many threads were created claiming the bitcoin mining is unsustainable yet it is still working and people are still buying mining rigs?

the problem is 20 years in the future... of course now mining is still rewarded enough to keep people mining Wink

20 years in the future... that;s another era by cryptotime.
It's highly possible bitcoin won't be around by then
13730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enjoy? on: February 12, 2014, 12:28:12 PM
I received 2 of these satoshi spams too. They don't cause too much harm, just really annoying being there...
So, I just send all my unspent coins (total balance minus the 2 satoshis) to another address,
and let those satoshis rot there.... (out of sight, out of mind)

So  , have those transactions been confirmed by somebody? I thought no pool will include them.

13731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So It Wasnt All Down To Gox? on: February 12, 2014, 12:25:00 PM
How could they of handled it better?

There is a chance I suppose that they are just using it as an excuse but lets say they arent, just for discusson, What should they have done?

I think their initial post may have been vague because they didnt want to allert everyone to the fact that there was a potential security problem. But then why did the people in the know rubbish their second statement with the reason they had closed the withdrwal lines?

It all seems a bit confused, dont the devs talk to the big exchanges?

Just like the other exchangers who miraculously haven't experienced gox problems.
13732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What country is responsible for the most BTC / Cryptocurrency Theft / Fraud! on: February 12, 2014, 12:23:09 PM
Most Fraud .... as in
a) most people involved , most frauds
b) total number of bitcoins lost due to fraud
13733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nobel Prize Winning Economist Weighs In On Gox Fiasco & Mark Karpeles on: February 12, 2014, 12:21:40 PM
for someone that tells people not to invest in bitcoin, he certainly invests alot of his time in it.

Thumbs up!  Cheesy

Usually people that want to find a flaw in Bitcoin spend more time researching it than people who are in just for there idea.
There are some trolls here , who claim bitcoin is doomed and spend more time researching bitcoin related articles than bitcoin fanatics.

13735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NY just announced a MANDATORY Bitcoin license - if this concerns you sign this. on: February 12, 2014, 12:17:34 PM

If the regulation of Bitcoin concerns you, please sign this letter to regulator Ben Lawsky

http://bitcoinfinancialassociation.org/regulation/

I thought the whole point was to get Bitcoin finally regulated

It all comes down to "how" it will be regulated. It might be a good thing or it might be the worst that happened to bitcoin.

As Bitstamp battles against these attacks, it’s also worth noting that the Slovenian exchange is not listed as a money services business with FINCEN, the U.S. agency that registers money transmitters — even though it accepts US customers.

Frankly, i'm more worried about this issue highlighted above.  Where to store fiat when coins becomes cheap..?

And your point here is?

My point here is Bitstamp should register with FinCen even if they don't have us bank accounts, just to be on the safe side.
Also they are allowing purchase of Ripple.. Let me quote gox puppet 'sturle' on this:
Bitstamp is in obvious violation of EU regulations, and could be closed any time. (Issuing Ripple USD, which is electronic money according to Directive 2009/110/EC, without proper authorisation.)

I wonder if the guys behind gox really want to go down while dragging everyone they can down to hell...

The point is that Bitstamp might be forced to let go of it's Us customers if they don't want to get into trouble.
Or register to avoid another mess.

Anyone else buying up rapidcoins? Once people are aware this thing can take off, plus it will be updated soon on cmk and its already low @ $25.000 Cheesy

With that small market cap you can bet there will be one huge pump and dump these days.
