1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ITT: Film plots that don't make sense if characters knew about bitcoin on: July 05, 2015, 05:01:37 AM
Yeah, send fiat to btc-e, buy coins or trade and go dark afterwards if you're a mind to, then hold for epic rally upcoming in the future.
1282  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Worries: can anyone advise? on: July 05, 2015, 04:59:02 AM
Depending where you're located and whether you're legit or not, I would advise you to buy your full load piecemeal like others have advocated. Coinbase is my favorite/easy run on the front end and then the next move is up to you.
1283  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-04] Google trends data for bitcoin points to German apathy ∙ IHB News™ on: July 05, 2015, 04:33:17 AM
From my understanding of this, if Greece dips out then the debt that Germany is supposedly profiting on will be gone. Repudiation of debt by Greece could be a first to stick it to central banks offering them shit deals. Not that I adore those that overspend on domestic welfare and such to just leave a spell earlier. But, with the banks preying off easy money, I'd hope that more folks everywhere would realize the benefits of bitcoin in profitable and debter nations alike.
1284  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-02] BBC news: Silk Road: Undercover agent admits stealing Bitcoin on: July 05, 2015, 04:21:38 AM
There's some degree of not only corruption but also entrapment involved in this whole Silk Road investigation and subsequent conviction. It's interesting that one of the thin blue line got lynched in this whole thing yet had no bearing on the conviction. The full story has and is coming out.
1285  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-04] NDTV: Fearing Return to Drachma, Some Greeks Use Bitcoin to Dodge.. on: July 05, 2015, 03:50:42 AM
Unfortunately, the masses of most areas will just react to what the financial problems are instead of thinking ahead or during the process to infer what the end result will be and take actions accordingly. Smart people and smart money are fortunately part of the spec that continues to keep us moving forward at this point.
1286  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-01] CT - BTCGreece Founder: Bitcoin Demand Has Risen by 400% on: July 05, 2015, 02:26:42 AM
Why this sudden surge? The Greek crisis has been ongoing for many months now, and there was no surge in demand for Bitcoins, either from the Greeks, or from the other Europeans. That said, I don't know whether this will be good for the Bitcoin sector or not. These people are likely to use Bitcoin as a medium to store their wealth. That means less people using Bitcoin for their shopping.
I'm totally cool w/ storing coinage as being one of the major focal points of bitcoin going forward. It's not like people spend from their retirement accounts. Frankly, until businesses that accept bitcoin offer discounts for doing so, there's no need to pay with it just to give them the upper hand. When they do provide discounts for using it or only take it for said products, then the reoccurring demand to obtain coins will be a regular thing. This is the main issue I have w/ merchants these days outside of their immediate cashing in of their new coins.
1287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: July 04, 2015, 11:09:47 PM
Wow guys, you make this newbie greedy!  Grin
Can't blame you, there's been a lot of trauma in the mentalities of many bitcoiners so it's no surprise that people have forgotten or can't comprehend what a real bull rally can look like.
1288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: July 04, 2015, 10:10:49 PM
I am glad that it is holding over $250 this weekend. I expect we should see some nice movement during the week coming up, still looks like the bulls are in control. They will really need to kick it into high gear to anywhere close to 1200 Grin
Considering his past predictions, this is a lot of credibility that he's putting out into the open. Tho, we could be at an epic turning point.
1289  Economy / Securities / Re: Fishing enterprise in Far East Russia. Colored coin IPO. Monthly dividends. on: July 04, 2015, 04:38:43 AM
4 posts later about the same thing, this is interesting all of a sudden. Except, these same 4 posts are the same w/o any change or reason. So, a div was paid once or are they paying many times per month? Not hatin, just wondering for the rest of the interested parties.

droning waffle

>> (i have no morals)  <<

more droning waffle

Agreed!

If it wasnt for being lumped in with moral-less entities such as this wall of waffle-text posting clown, things would be much more comfortable.

it feels as though a bunch of lonely shut-ins have joined us and claimed us as their own - and there are millions more yet to arrive...

As much as we all want increased adoption, knowing the vast majority of them will be no morals having, life-story repeat-whining d-bags just makes me cringe.

Considering we're on the cusp of another uptick of unheard proportions, I say your worry of them having no morals isn't such a thing to be concerned about. So much is going to change in such a large manner that'll you'll be super surprised.
1291  Economy / Speculation / Re: [prediction] Next spike $560,000 14 months from now on: July 04, 2015, 04:20:13 AM
Keeping more than what you need to pay bills or food or entertainment in FIAT is pointless. We are clearly going to the moon. Either you believe or you don't. FIAT is a scam. Bitcoin, at least, represents partial freedom, but it will not make society free on its own. But it is a tool that we can use for Good and bypass the banksters..

Christine Lagarde, here's one to you, you fucking cunt.
You sure have some color to you lately but I approve considering your heart is in the right place. Not that you can walk that one back but times are a changing and it should be obvious to anyone that the flipside is about to happen as time goes by. The bull market is likely starting and the rest should be fun for the rest of everyone around here that has awaited the end of the shit market.
1292  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC could jump to price 300 fast on: July 04, 2015, 03:28:29 AM
Lot's of great faith behind this thread and we'll see if it pans out soon. I know a dude that posts here that has a bot on panic hold so there could and most likely will be some interesting upward action this week. Litecoin is a hold too, the rest is up to you. Wink

Raised Around Cry For Smaller Government, Rand Paul Carries The Torch

Sen. Rand Paul made headlines recently with his one-man effort to roll back government surveillance. And that's the just beginning of Paul's plan to dismantle big chunks of the federal government.

"The Washington machine that gobbles up our freedoms and invades every nook and cranny of our lives must be stopped," Paul declared in April, as he announced his presidential campaign.

But Paul's hometown of Lake Jackson, Texas, only exists because of a shotgun wedding between big government and industry. The city was hastily built near the Texas Gulf Coast in the 1940s to house workers at a nearby Dow Chemical plant, so that they could produce the magnesium the military needed during World War II.

"The U.S. government stepped in and they made it happen," said Robert Rule, executive director of the Lake Jackson Historical Association.

Rand Paul Wants To Sell Off America’s Public Lands

At a campaign stop in Nevada on Monday, Kentucky Senator and Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul called for the federal government to sell off and privatize America’s national forests and other public lands.

As part of his “Stand With Rand” tour, Sen. Paul told an audience in the Nevada town of Mesquite that the federal government is a “bully” and that national public lands should be under state and private control, as reported by CNN.

“You run into problems now with the federal government being, you know, this bully — this big huge government bully,” Paul said. “You would have less of that if you had more local ownership of the land. State ownership would be better, but even better would be private ownership.”
A notable guest in the audience was outlaw Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who infamously refused to pay more than $1 million in grazing fees owed to taxpayers, resulting in a dangerous standoff in April 2014 with federal land management officials. Bundy is also widely known for his racist views, anti-government ideology and refusal to acknowledge the authority of the federal government, in particular over public lands

Rand Paul, the most frugal lawmaker of them all

As White House hopefuls strike their presidential poses, the meticulous National Taxpayers Union Foundation continues to pore over their voting records, which brings us to Sen. Rand Paul, the latest subject of the organization’s research. No spender is he. During his first two terms in Congress, the Kentucky lawmaker actually proposed savings agendas that would cut $483.8 billion per year, on average, from the federal budget.

“His record clearly demonstrates an approach to budget discipline that can be matched by few,” says analyst Demian Brady, who notes that during the 112th Congress, Mr. Paul proposed an agenda that would cut $650 billion a year, suggesting he has a consistently sterling track record in fiscal matters. He holds the record for the most frugal lawmaker of all, as a matter of fact.

The Democratic contenders aren’t even close.

Rand Paul Predicts Possible Stock Market Crash Because of Fed

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul is warning that a stock market crash may be coming because the Federal Reserve has kept interest rates from fluctuating, Radio Iowa reported.

“People say, 'Oh, we can just do that forever,'” the Kentucky senator said Wednesday, according to the radio network. “I don’t think so. I think there’ll be a day of reckoning.”

Paul's family has a long history of Fed criticism. His father, former congressman (and three-time presidential candidate) Ron Paul, wrote a book called "End the Fed." The younger Paul, who hasn't gone quite that far (his campaign mantra is "audit the Fed"), made his comments while campaigning in Sioux City.

Chef, what's your opinion on this? You just posted the article but didn't share your point of view. Helps with the discussion by leading us off!
TECSHARE makes a good point^. On one hand we strive to fight for freedom for everyone but we reject the government and much of the psycho-left shoving bullcrap down our throat. IMO, people should be able to have voluntary contracts of whatever relationship between them and their loved ones that they want but unfortunately, there are hustlers gaming this debate in their PC way for their own benefit which affects plenty of people who have their personal disagreements w/ said issue of gay marriage.

Religious types shouldn't have to allow nor serve up any relationship ceremonies that they don't want. Personally, government shouldn't be involved in marriage of any kind and just local areas, religious or otherwise, just handle contracts between consenting parties. I'm Catholic so I'm inclined to not go for gay marriage but I subscribe to the aforementioned scenario where government isn't involved and each couple or more can make their own contracts w/ each other by whatever outfit is there to sign off on it, or forget all about it and live their lives together to live free. I just don't like the politics behind the one-issue same sex movement that I've been seeing for decades.

Just got my Trezor, its freaking awesome.  Way smaller than I expected.  I recommend buying from Amazon though as it took my friend nearly 3 weeks to receive his straight from the Trezor site.

I've been thinking about getting one for ages. Think I'm going to bite the bullet & get one in the next week or two. I've done a lot of research/reading about them. I think it's brilliant that the private keys are never exposed to the internet & if you lose or damage your trezor you don't lose your bitcoins as you can recover them with your 12 or 24 word seed/password. Well worth the money imo.
Sorry for going off topic guys but has anybody else got one, care to share your experiences?
I pre-ordered one when they were first getting started and naturally it took 9 months for me to get it. I've just become set in my ways w/ how I currently hold my stuff so I haven't even taken it out of the package. I'm just saving it as a novelty at this point.

Trump: Last Thing We Need is Another Bush

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump “the last thing we need is another Bush” and argued Jeb lacks “gravitas” in a wide-ranging interview broadcast on Wednesday’s “CNN Tonight.”

Trump began by talking about his polling numbers compared to Jeb Bush, stating, “Well, I’m not happy being behind Jeb Bush, to be honest with you. Because I don’t get, he’s in favor of Common Core, he’s very weak on immigration, extremely weak on immigration. He thinks people come over for love, and I’m not at all happy. I don’t understand how he’s at first place, but I’m certainly honored by the poll, and people are understanding my message, which is basically make America great again, and we’re doing very well.” And that he has “absolutely no idea” why he’s behind Bush, “maybe it’s the Bush name. But the last thing we need is another Bush. But I will tell you, I’m a little surprised that he would be in the position he’s in, and look, I’m right behind him, and I think we’ll do very well. But, I’m surprised, if anybody, I’m surprised it would be him.”

PHOTOS: Rand Paul visits Las Vegas 6/29/15

Photographer: Yesterday I attended Rand's rally in Las Vegas, his last stop on a four stop tour throughout Nevada. There was a lot of enthusiasm, and I hope Nevada can pull off what we weren't able to the last couple election cycles. Turnout was pretty good at each of the four stops. I got some photos I'd like to share.
