1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 07, 2023, 03:33:21 PM
Mbappe is being linked with some Premier League teams such as Chelsea and Liverpool recently. However I don't think he will join any of them even on loan for one season. Because as long as PSG don't leave him out of squad there is no meaning in Mbappe to join a team that aren't a part of the Champions League.

Hence these teams had better try their luck with making a permanent deal offer instead. But still their chance might not be that high if Mbappe has really agreed with Real Madrid verbally. But if there is no such agreement then I would love to see some rivalry for signing Mbappe this summer already.  Grin

I read that the president of Chelsea and the president of PSG had a discussion about this. Mbappe was also keen on the idea of playing Chelsea on loan for a year. Probably this loaning will take place, next year we can get the news of the transfer of Real Madrid. If both PSG's chairman and Mbappe want this transfer, the chances of it happening will be very high Smiley

After the recent tension between PSG and Mbappe I don't know if they can have an agreement on his transfer anymore.

Everything is up to Mbappe from now on. PSG can't force him to leave. The biggest thing they can do to him is to leave him out of squad. On the other hand I think like why would they choose that option if he insists on staying this season? Doing that to him is even worse for PSG as they are paying a huge sum of money to him yearly already.

I think he will just stay here for this season and then leave.

Leipzig have really made a solid sum of money in player sales during this summer. They have lost quite much strength at the same time but I don't think they are very unhappy with the current situation now. Because they aren't much different than Dortmund on this topic. Their main vision is also to make as much profit as possible by being active in the transfer market.

In this way they are still making a lot of money even though they don't win the Bundesliga title. This is at least enough to keep their finances strong.

To be able to become more competitive for titles they need to build their squad according to it and focus on keeping their players for a long time instead.

Leipzig was very successful last year and was appreciated by everyone. But I don't think they have made good transfers for this season. If you are making money by selling the players who made the team successful, you should at least make a few new transfers. But they are not very successful in this regard. If they see football as just making money, they're doing it well, but I think they shouldn't do this in order for the team to be at the top every year. I wonder how many years Openda and Baumgartner will continue to play. They bought players as if they were investing Cheesy

Especially the Openda transfer is intriguing to me. Because he was really impressive while playing for Lens last season. That season was the time for him to shine to get offers from bigger teams. He has really done it by scoring a lot of goals and playing an important role in Lens' success in the Ligue 1.

But now he has better be ready for a bigger competition. Because there are three more strikers like Werner, Sesko and Poulsen. Especially Sesko is another new arrival who is a quite promising striker at the same time. Openda will need to work harder now.

Tottenham have turned down the offer worth 100m euros coming from Bayern Munich as well. It is really unbelievable.  Cheesy

Bayern Munich are going to discuss this topic but it was said before that this was their final offer. Hence I won't be surprised if Bayern Munich officials decide to withdraw their interest from this transfer completely from now on. Then I wonder who their next target is going to be. Would they like to sign a younger player who costs them higher than Kane? For example Osimhen. Things can get quite interesting after this news as Bayern Munich desperately need a striker not only for the Bundesliga but also the Champions League.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 07, 2023, 03:16:54 PM
Last season when he was on loan at Chelsea, he also did not show significant performance, so there would be so many things to consider if he signed him. But the last one is an offer from Al-Hilal and it must be a fantastic value, at the young age of 23 years he will make a lot of money and at the same time will end his career sooner. So the decision is now a matter of time.

I agree with that. Felix was really unable to show his skills for Chelsea as well. Technically Chelsea were having a really poor season so it was extra difficult for him to shine. But he got a red card a short time after he joined the team as well which started the criticism about him. I don't know maybe things would be different if he joins for another season but it is hard to tell anyway.

I think he should just take the potential offer coming from a Saudi team and go there. He can return after a couple of seasons and then maybe he might continue his career in Europe better than before.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 07, 2023, 08:50:35 AM
It looks like Joao Felix is really leaving this summer but I don't think Atletico Madrid will make any move to fill his space. Because he was already loaned to Chelsea last season and they didn't bring anyone to fill his absence in the squad. Simeone just doesn't have plans for him I'm afraid. Such a waste for Atletico Madrid really. They spent around 120m euros to sign him but now he is an unwanted man here.

On the other hand I think he might have a second chance with a new coach in case he is loaned again for this season. Because Simeone might leave the team as he is in his last year of his contract.

The league will be difficult for Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Adana Demirspor in the first weeks because these teams have European qualifying matches.
There may be points losses in the league, it's okay for me if they don't get eliminated from Europe.
I am pretty sure couple of them will be eliminated in play offs because their opponents will be much better and stronger. Turkish clubs are sadly suffering through inflation which is burning our country.. They can't sign with bigger names anymore because finances can't help them too. I feel like Galatasaray especially may quickly be eliminated because I didn't like their performance at all. Players don't seem ready for anything.

I agree with one thing that Galatasaray's performance has been really inconsistent so far. They risked their chance to move on in the qualifiers.

However I don't think they would still be eliminated too easy. Especially for this round I don't have such expectation. Ljubljana may be a little better team than Zalgiris but they are also much weaker than Galatasaray. It is like Galatasaray need to make an extra effort to be eliminated in this round.

But after this round which is the last one before the group stage they are likely to face a much stronger team. Until then they had better get ready. Otherwise it would be sad to see them saying goodbye early with a strong squad like this.

Hojlund is a striker who is playing really impressively at national team level. However we haven't seen the same effort in league matches from him yet. But maybe the Premier League would be a better place for him rather than the Serie A. He is a decent scorer for his national team and he can maintain this effort at the right team as it seems. That right team could be Manchester United who knows. But we won't be able to find out about it for a little while due to a pre-season injury.

His performance will be important in the Champions League as well. He isn't familiar with this tournament yet but if he adapts he can be really useful for Manchester United to be more deadly against the biggest title contenders. He has the potential to be a similar player to Haaland I think.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 07, 2023, 08:23:50 AM
Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Joao Felix will leave Atletico Madrid guaranteed this summer.

Felix is waiting for an offer from Europe first. Especially an offer from Barcelona. But there is no way Barcelona are signing him on a permanent deal. Because as far as I know his asking price is around 100m euros now. In this situation Barcelona can't pay that much thinking of FFP rules. Maybe a loan option might be on the table but I don't know if they have such goal now. If he doesn't get an offer in Europe then he is likely to go to Saudi Arabia.

After the break began we started to have speculations about drivers right away.

Leclerc is speculated to be signing a new contract with Ferrari soon. It is reported to be at least two years and there might be an option to extend it more as well. Despite all that problems at Ferrari he still wants to fight for Ferrari's success seemingly. I don't know if he is doing the right thing to be honest. Because it is really difficult to predict if Ferrari would change in the future. They need to take important steps to put an end to this nonsense mistakes once and for all.

I don't think it will be the right choice for him,or he will be another "sacrificed" driver of the so many who have been doing the same thing and I can name big names here like,Irvine,Vettel and Alonso who spent several years at Ferrari when Ferrari was even better than now and could not win the title.I think it would be the best for him to wait and to just extend for one year more with Ferrari and not two years while by doing so he will have more opportunities for him as he is still a relatively young driver and having chances to move to a better car is always to have so I would suggest him that.

Maybe he can't imagine himself at any other team on the grid now. That might be why he is seeing Ferrari as the best option for himself. He will be the number one driver at Ferrari if he extends his contract as well. Because Sainz is very likely to join Audi by 2026 season as it has been all over the news.

In this situation Leclerc will most probably have a companion which won't have the same status with Sainz. I mean there is going to be a hierarchy once again. I'm afraid this really seems like the best idea in this sport otherwise it makes things more difficult for a team to have a driver being the champion.

Ndombele and Krunic are the most recent speculations for Fenerbahçe midfield now.

Ndombele would cost much more than Krunic though. Because Ndombele's value is a little more than two times Krunic's value in the market now. Both of them have 2 more years left on their contracts. Ndombele transfer might cost them very much if Tottenham don't go down highly for his asking price. He has been playing on loan for two years in fact. Maybe loan option would also be sensible for Fenerbahçe.

Kane move to Bayern Munich is still doubtful now. Because Tottenham chairman still continues to stall them. I would really love to see Kane competing in the Champions League with Bayern Munich this season. They offered 100 million euros but still no positive answer yet. If we see Tottenham rejecting this offer as well then it is over.

Bayern Munich don't think of increasing their offer than this anymore. This is technically the highest price that Tottenham can get for Kane now. They just don't let Kane become more successful after all these years without a single title.

It is such an unbelievable thing that Maguire has been the most expensive player until Gvardiol is being transferred. There is like a huge gap between Maguire and him in terms of strength and defensive skills. Despite Gvardiol's being a very young defender I would favour him against Maguire from the beginning to the end.

Maguire has turned out to be an unworthy transfer for his fee and Manchester United are trying to get rid of him these days. Most probably they will manage to loan him in the worst case scenario. On the other hand I expect Gvardiol to prove his worth nicely for Manchester City and become one of the best defenders of the Premier League.
When Manchester United has decide to bought Maguire from Leicester his status as one of the best defender on Premier League that Maguire performance was very stable at that time and the result is he can bringing Leicester to gets Premier League trophy so that's why Manchester United were dare to buy him at expensive price and broke the record as the most expensive defender at Premier league because they hopes Maguire will be able to displayed fantastic performance just like he showed at Leicester

And actually first season for Maguire was run well that he was being an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer key player but i don't know why now Maguire is playing just like a mediocre player and Manchester United are really wasting their money to buy him and this summer Maguire is one of the most difficult player to sell because not many teams are interested in buying him although Manchester United has attempts to sell him with cheap price but still lack of interest for him

There is an interesting story behind the Maguire story as well. This story summarizes Manchester United on some transfers at the same time.

Back in the day when they were interested in signing Maguire Leicester were hoping to get some good sum of money for him. However they were never expecting Manchester United to offer a huge sum like 87m euros. Leicester officials couldn't believe it was real and they accepted the offer quickly of course. They were so happy with making an enormous profit in this transfer.

Barcelona aren't a weak team of course. They are just in a phase to make significant changes. They are playing with many young talents now. This is good from a point of view that creativity is always going to be at a high level. But creativity isn't enough by itself as well. This team need more team to get more experienced in the Champions League.

I'm thinking of another thing which is if it would be better for Xavi to make some changes in his system as for Champions League matches. Because maybe it isn't all about the players to do better. Tiki-taka football still works in the La Liga very well.

But as for the Champions League I feel like this system might not be a good choice in big matches.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 06, 2023, 08:24:28 AM
Dembele's leaving Barcelona mustn't be like the saddest thing for them. Of course he is a really talented player. However he has always had serious issues with injuries since he joined Barcelona. Taking the previous season into account he missed a lot of matches and couldn't show the expected level of performance. However Xavi was still wishing to continue to have him in his team as he likes him. Now he is about to sign for PSG and I wonder how unhappy Xavi is with this situation.

Unhappy or not Barcelona can still do a good work without him as well. Besides they should be able to find a good replacement for him who isn't injury-prone if possible.

Things went sideways for Ajax last season and we saw them in this much of a desperate situation for the first time in the recent years. Especially after Erik ten Hag left the team things started to go upside down for this team. Not only that of course. They replaced many players from the squad that were dominant in the league as well.

This didn't work very well for Ajax either. Now it is going to be a fresh start by this season. Ajax have changed many coaches recently so let's see if the current one can carry them to the title race in this league again. But becoming the champions is still not easy at all while their top rivals are doing pretty good.

There are still matches in European competitions before the first week in the Super League starts. Considering the current fixtures Fenerbahçe and Adana Demirspor have the least number of days to rest after their Conference League first leg matches. Because only 3 days after the matches they are facing their first opponents in the Super League. There is a little more space for Galatasaray and Beşiktaş now. I wonder if this will affect Fenerbahçe - Adana Demirspor duo negatively in the league matches.

The players would be quite tired and there might be a need of some rotation. The coaches will have to make good choices.

I have seen some rumours such as Napoli got an offer worth 120m euros for Osimhen. And after that they raised their asking price to 500m euros quickly. It was a Saudi team that made the offer for him by the way. Maybe Napoli's action like this is special to Saudi teams. Because they weren't speculated to do the same thing against other European teams. The asking price was around 150m euros the most for those teams. But there isn't any interested team for him now.

PSG could have been a strong candidate but they went for Gonçalo Ramos. I guess that Real Madrid also find it too much to go for Osimhen.
