1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 14, 2023, 08:25:35 AM
How did you get over your addiction? I have seen people struggle with addiction for years. Some went into depression from it and had to end it with suicide. Your addiction survival story will be appreciated and I know many others can learn from it.
I started to gamble in 2014. I was addicted from the start all because I was looking for ways I can use gambling to make money consistently, like weekly income. I quite gambling in 2019. That was five years after. I started to gamble again a year after, that was 2020. I noticed I wanted to be addicted again and I quit again and started to gamble some months after. Then I noticed I was not addicted again in that 2020. What made me not to be addicted again was when I know the root cause of my addiction. I later knew I can not make gambling a source of income because it will only destroy my life. That was where the addiction ended.
1282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to sell? on: September 13, 2023, 10:35:00 PM
A simple question to those who are hoping to profit on the next Bitcoin bull-run:
How do you determine when is the good time to sell?
in other words: how would you know we've reached the peak?
If you are making profit already, you can sell at anytime that you want.

Do you have a set "goal" price at which you'd be selling no matter what happens? Do you intend to sell incrementally as the price goes up?
If some peak prices are not gotten to, you may not be able to set a goal price. My goal price is $100000. If it fall from $100000, I will buy more and expected higher price.

Or maybe when the price gradually drops (e.g. it goes down for X days in a row), indicating we're past the peak?
It is not easy like this. In the last bull run, you remember that bitcoin got to $50000, fall back to $28900. It increased back to $50000 and reach $63500 or so and it fall again to $30000. It increased again and reach $69000 before the bear market started.
1283  Economy / Exchanges / Huobi global rebranded name to HTX on: September 13, 2023, 03:57:55 PM
The URL is still https://www.huobi.com/ which may likely be changed with time. The new names is HTX.

Some people are thinking that this may have something to do with FTX, but I do not think so because of what Huobi (now HTX) wrote about it. This is it:

Dear Users,

As the world's leading virtual assets exchange, Huobi launches a refreshed branding strategy on September 13, 2023, where "Huobi" will be rebranded as "HTX", our new global brand.

HTX: A New Global Brand

"H" stands for Huobi, "T" represents TRON with a commitment to being all in TRON, and "X" stands for the exchange. Looking at HTX through the combination of HT and X, HT represents the native token of the platform while X symbolizes the exchange. Hence, HTX is an exchange with its native token of HT. On the other hand, X is the Roman numeral for 10, which pays tributes to HTX’s 10th anniversary. It is a new era for the platform with synergy between HTX, TRON, and Poloniex. There is also a brand new slogan - "HTX, Just Trade It".

I brought this for people to know about it. Avoid fake URL also becuase I think some scammers like to use a means like this to scam people with google ads or fake link from search engine.

1284  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: All about Emotions on: September 13, 2023, 09:26:26 AM
@promise444c5, you can just let it be in a text link. If you have done it like that which is also simple, people will not complain about it. If you like, you can include the OP of the topics just like Mpamaegbu said already.

Emotions dealing
Emotion and Trade?
Trading, emotions and your fine selves
10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto.

Trading is more than emotion, you can look for other helpful topics on trading discussion board. There are many of them. Traders will appreciate the ones with trading strategies and indicators also.

the most correct sentence is to learn how to control emotions  and exploit them to maximize profit, and not just put them aside when trading.
In trading, I noticed trader associate emotion to bad feelings, what can happen that can make you to against your strategy, closing of your trading position when you supposed not to have closed it and some other things that are related to losses in trading. I see this not to be accurate, emotion can be bad or good like you said, but there comes a time I just later have to admit when they are only associating it will bad feeling that is resulting to losses. And you have said it already indirectly from your post, that if a trader is trading with little amount of money, not using leverage but going for only just one leverage, they will overcome the emotion that they are talking about, but by doing so, the profit will also be minimal. I prefer my profit to be minimal than for the emotion they are talking about to overcome me, emotion will overcome greedy traders.
1285  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase announced LN integration on: September 13, 2023, 08:54:05 AM
I created the same topic some seconds ago after you have posted yours. I will lock the thread now.

It would be good if Coinbase integrate lightning network. And we hope to see more exchanges to enable bitcoin lightning network integration.
1286  Economy / Exchanges / Coinbase will integrate lightning network but it may take time on: September 13, 2023, 08:31:41 AM
The Coinbase CEO, Brian Armstrong said that on Twitter not quite long:

The team did a great job digging into this, and we've made the decision to integrate Lightning. Bitcoin is the most important asset in crypto and we're excited to do our part to enable faster/cheaper Bitcoin transactions. Will take some time to integrate so please be patient.

I am a trader and what I have noticed about OKX and Binance lightning network integration is that I hardly use altcoins to make transaction on these exchanges if I want to send part of my trading fund across exchanges and also if a friend want to accept it as payment and not want to send it directly on my noncustodial wallet. The fee is always very cheap and the transaction is fast.

Do not hold your coins on exchanges, I am only talking about my trading fund and trading fund profit (if I have). Not your key not your coin.

I am not a Coinbase users, but I think this would be helpful for Coinbase users as well.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approac? on: September 12, 2023, 07:25:33 PM
In my opinion, it’s better to have a small capital and a big risk, because if I risk a lot of capital for the sake of a 10% profit, success will not impress me. But if I win 1000% of the bet, then emotions make themselves felt. In addition, it is obvious that it is better to lose a small bet than a huge deposit. This is a kind of damage control.
If you check some football in-play, you will notice odds like 1.02 down to the ones I have mention above. With 1.02 odd, that is 0.02% profit and people going for that such odds are not wise at all because once they will lose, they lose in a way that will cause them depression and they will continue to lose money to gambling. 10% of profit is 1.1 odd and that is also still small. Just like I have said above, I prefer nothing less than 1.5 odd while gambling with bookmakers, while nothing less than 3 odds in casinos.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approac? on: September 12, 2023, 07:15:48 PM
I was using huge amount of money on small odds before and I win often, but if I lose, I lose more and one loss can be up to 20 winnings. Using huge capital for small odds is not good.

Using small capital for huge winning is better. That is why I prefer casinos with games that gives me 3 odds or more. In sport, that kind of possibility makes the odd to significantly be reduced.

The smallest odds are on sport betting. There is no good reason to be going for 1.005, 1.01 or other low odds. When I prefer to go for better odds more than 1.5 odds in sport, it has been better than before. I bet less than before and I use low amount of money.
1289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are Technical Indicators useless? on: September 12, 2023, 04:50:11 PM
Indicators can increase the probability of making profit in trading, but it deos not 100% guarantee that if a trader use them to trade, that the trader would win. Indicators are just some things to know in trading but strategies is what that is most important.

If you have 100% money, use 10% or less to trade.
You can start a trade with averaging. If you win, you close the position. If you are losing, you will wait until your indicators tell you to increase the leverage. You can start a trade with 0.2x and increased it to 1x. That is averaging.

Averaging may still fail, you need to not let emotion to control you. Trade with the amount of money that you can afford to lose.
1290  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinex hacked, $18M stolen? on: September 12, 2023, 04:16:20 PM
I tried to contact them just now and it's confirmed that they having some issues all withdraw and deposit is currently suspended.

The news has not been confirmed yet. I have been working on Coinex for years, but I do not trade on a daily basis. When I heard the news, I logged into my account and there did not seem to be anything strange, not even an announcement about hacking.

I also went to the official Twitter account of Coinex. There is no news about hacking either, the exchange website is working normally so far and nothing strange.

We have to wait for an official confirmation or denial from Coinex.
Did you see what BitMaxz posted? He said that withdrawal is not more working. The website of a trading platform can be working good, the trading and all other services they are rendering can be working good, but deposit and withdrawal can be suspended while other things on an exchange can be working good. Were you able to withdraw some of your coins on the exchange?
1291  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinex hacked, $18M stolen? on: September 12, 2023, 03:42:47 PM
The last one was Staked.com. Although Stake is not an exchange but a gambling site, but it is still centralized and holding customers fund on hot wallet which makes them vulnerable to the hack. Centralized exchanges that have been hacked before are because of the hot wallet that they are using.

Not good to hold coins on exchanges. If $18 million worth of coins  is stolen from the exchange, it is not going to be easy.

Edit: I do not know how true this is, that more coins are stolen. That $27.8 million in ether, tron and polygon has been stolen.
1292  Economy / Trading Discussion / Funding rate for make profit on: September 12, 2023, 11:12:08 AM
Two days ago, I opened a position with a very risky volatile coin at some minutes to its funding rate fee, the coin was having -1.98% funding rate fee. You can see how risky that is which I can not call trading but gambling.

After I opened a long position, luckily I was able to have unrealized PnL of $67, but it was just some seconds remaining to another 8 hours funding rate time to start counting down. I waited and all that I noticed in less than a second after the next eight hours began was that the $67 profit that was seen suddenly droped to $4.

I was paid the funding fee which made me to make almost $60 in total. I mean the profit from trading is around $3 if trading fee has been deducted while the remain profit was from funding fee.

I noticed that traders are using the funding fee to manipulate the market, although we can not call it manipulation too because they want to make profit, but they can also lose. That is trading. If you are trading these less volatile coins with high funding fee, you will noticed what that I am talking about.

Are you using funding fee to make money from the derivative market? If so, what is the most possible way have you used it to make money successfully or it is not actually working?
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Manage Your Adrenaline Rush In Gambling? on: September 11, 2023, 10:44:49 PM
Adrenaline is also called flight or fight hormones. When the body not in the resting and relaxing state, more adrenaline will be produced. What I am saying is that if you are gambling and you are very excited about it and jump up and rejoicing over your winning, your body adrenaline level will increase also.

What you are saying is that what makes someone to gamble responsibly in a way that if losing, the person will stop. I have experienced it countless number of times that if I lose and continue to lose, that I have to stop. If I do not stop, my money will all be spent on gambling. That is enough to stop me. Past experience is enough to stop me.

Even if I have won, I stop.
1294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If they have the ability why would they sell? on: September 11, 2023, 12:32:35 PM
2. They might have other motives for creating such groups too.
If the trader lose, will the signal provider return the money the trader paid? No

Since this groups are label premium signal groups, they are requesting some form of a monthly subscription, a friend said that most of them are inexperienced traders who are pretending to be a pro traders.
Can you know if they are experienced trader? No. You can see a trader that is winning, but suddenly losing and later the net profit is negative.

My second friend gave me a signal group and he claimed to be good, but you know, I prefer asking questions before taking any steps, there are too many scammers in and out of crypto world.
Learn how to trade yourself and use little amount of money to trade, the amount of money that you can afford to lose. Signal groups only care about their own pockets.

My common sense is asking me why will they create such group if they know how to be pro traders already? Like why can't they keep this to themselves and keep making their money? Why are they trying to help and getting subscribers in return? Just my own common sense like I've said. What do you have to tell me?
Because they want to make money and the money can not be from trading because they do not know how they can make the profit  Grin
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 11, 2023, 09:57:55 AM
Gambling is legal in my country. In where I am living, the land based gambling sites that are here are betting agents which are for sport betting. Gambling is legal in my country but land based casinos are located in highly developed cities. That makes land based casinos not to be for everyone for frequent accessing.

Only what that is required for you to access online casinos is just a good device like phone, tablet or computer.

Do you have experience playing at real casinos and online gambling sites? Is there a difference playing there? I want to know.
In land based casinos, you will meet people, you will socialize. It might be like you went out to enjoy yourself. But if you want privacy, you may not like it. It is a light inside a dark room that may not let you know fast that time has gone or that it is night already. And you can drink so that you can waste money more on gambling if you are not determined enough to discipline yourself.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with entropy (Chaos) on: September 11, 2023, 07:08:27 AM
There are different strategies that some gamblers will have and develop for themselves in a way to earn more than they can lose, but with all strategies that we are using, let us know that we may lose at anytime. Because a strategy works for us the first, second and third time, that does not still mean the strategy can be efficient enough to continue to let us win than lose. What I am only saying is that we should gamble wisely and responsibly.
1297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction on: September 11, 2023, 06:40:14 AM
Using a Bitcoin wallet with RBF (Replace by Fee) to bump fee later is good advice but what are altcoin wallets with bitcoin?

Bitcoin is different than altcoins with smart contracts and you can not use altcoin wallets to deposit and move your bitcoin. They have altcoins like wrapped tokens but those tokens are not bitcoin, they are tokens and peg by bitcoin.
I am not talking about those pegged coins that are not bitcoin and I am not talking about those chains that are not bitcoin blockchain. What I am talking about are wallets that support bitcoin and altcoins which are called multicoin wallets. Example of the wallets are Unstoppable and Mycelium wallet which are open source, or Trustwallet, Coinomi and Atomic wallet which are close source that should not be advised to be used. All these wallets that are not having RBF, unlike wallets that has support just for only bitcoin like Electrum, Samourai and Bluewallet that has RBF.
1298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction on: September 10, 2023, 03:00:40 PM
Most of the times we do not know what causes the delay in transactions we made because we have little knowledge on how to avoid having any issue, it is expected that we take time to check the mempool for the current transaction fee rates, try to know this and check the confirmation time needed, this will give you the idea of knowing how soon it will get confirmed, also, you can pump the fee as well of using a wallet that supports RBF, since it was detected that you made use of a fee that could make your transaction confirmation get so delayed, just pump the fee and use the current fee rate for any category and it will be confirmed sooner.
If you have the technical knowledge, you will know what is causing the delay for a transaction not to have been confirmed fast. The main problem is the fee rate that was used. If you go and check the mempool fee rate suggested for fast confirmation, your transaction would be confirmed in most probably the next block or in a block that is not far away but that will be soon mined. You do not need to check the fee rate from time to time, use a wallet that has RBF, check the mempool, use the suggested fee rate and your transaction would be fast if you use the fee rate that can make the transaction to be confirmed in the next block. What I just noticed is that many people like to use altcoin wallet with bitcoin and they do not have the opportunity to use RBF because those altcoins wallets are not having RBF.
1299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: September 09, 2023, 10:10:47 PM
Also, a signature campaign does not mean a site will not scam. If you believe that, you might be slow in the head.
I may not be entirely correct but this is how I do it. I like to see gambling sites with signature campaign. It makes me think that the gambling site still have money and advertising makes it more possible for the gambling site not to scam if more people can register and start to gamble. Unlike a gambling site that do not advertise. Advertisement is very important in a business.

Signature campaign is just one of the things that I mentioned. I also mention having active announcement thread. Including the official account to be active. I like something like that because it can make issue to be solved easily sometime.

Out of the 100% money that I am receiving weekly, I hardly use 5% to gamble. Most of the time I use less than 5% to gamble. And luckily, no gambling site that have scammed me before. I will always advice people to gamble with what they can afford to lose.

Despite the low amount I used to gamble, I still check if the gambling site has a license or not.

I can be scammed, but I think those things can make the possibility of me to be scammed to reduce. They are new gambling sites and if the business do not go as it supposed to be, it can lead to disappointment.
1300  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction on: September 09, 2023, 07:51:49 PM
I have the receiving address but it is under cashapp as i never do btc transactions and the wallet was easy to receive on
The receiving addresses is Cashapp address, but what about the wallet that you make the transaction from? Cashapp address starts from 1 right? But you make the transaction from bc1 address? The change address will start with bc1.

Get the seed phrase or the private key of the the wallet you made the transaction, import the seed phrase or private key on Electrum or a wallet that you can use coin control. Use coin control to spend the coin on the other address that you are seeing on the explorer which is not Cashapp address that starts from 1. Use high fee that can get two transactions included in a black fast because you are making another transaction, making two transactions. With that you pump the fee of the unconfirmed transaction.
