1281  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 20K coming soon, watch this chart and ease your mind :D on: May 05, 2018, 02:02:07 PM
If you look at OP's log chart you will see that price growth from mid-September ($3500) till mid-December 2017 ($20,000) was very steep. There was only one notable correction in mid-November, other than that, almost all days were green. This is simply not sustainable. The 2018 bull season that started recently will not be as steep. My prediction is that trend line will be similar to downward trend line of early 2018 bear season, except it will be upward of course. So $20k in September or October 2018.
1282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]🔵🌟WORDCOIN🌟🔵ICO finished!🌟Platform for copywriters&translators on: May 03, 2018, 09:50:00 AM
I very long supported the project, followed the infrequent news in the telegram. But recently the situation is getting worse and worse.

Yup. http://word.expert/ closed down.

I'm expecting nothing anymore from this 'project'.
Website is still working for me. I don't have much hope about Wordcoin either. I will try to contact CEO and other team members who have their contact listed on website (LinkedIn or Facebook).
I archived website https://wordcoin.io/ for future reference: [1] [2]
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IGNIs and Bittrex on: May 03, 2018, 07:58:40 AM
I dont understand why bittrex pump IGNIS coin  Huh Huh Huh
The "pump" happened because of UpBit exchange, not Bittrex. Korean exchange listed new fiat market for IGNIS (IGNIS/KWN). Read here
Despite this "pump", IGNIS is still undervalued and I'm not selling mine below 5000 satoshi.
1284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]🚀🚀🚀 LIQUID FINANCIAL TRADING PLATFORM 🚀🚀🚀 on: April 29, 2018, 11:35:46 PM
You lost my interest as soon as you started defending that ponzi scheme BitConnect. Maybe you follow the strategy any advertising is good advertising so you used BitConnect to get more exposure.
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: We as a community must boycott Coinmarketcap.com on: April 29, 2018, 10:56:33 PM
The only problem I have with coinmarketcap is that they sometimes show old price for some exchanges - if you click the Markets tab you get the list of exchanges offering trading pairs with desired altcoin. And sometimes those prices are not completely fresh so when you check the actual price on exchange, there is different price than it was shown on coinmarketcap.
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][COVEX] - The Next Generation All In One Digital Trading Platform. on: April 29, 2018, 10:40:27 PM
I really think this project is much needed in the crypto world. While trading platforms are getting huge, we really dont have much user-friendly ones for newcomers. This could be it, wish you good luck.
Design and user-interface of Covex looks prettier and easier to understand for beginners. It reminds me of Coinbase. I can see good future for Covex if they do the marketing the right way.
1287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PETRO (PTR) The crypto-asset of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on: April 29, 2018, 09:42:24 PM
From what I understand:
a) the coin is not fully developed yet
b) it will eventually be based on the NEM blockchain

So, I am not sure how it could be available as an ERC-20 token on Etherdelta?
I suspect both this, and the Telegram ICO, will both see more than their fair share of scam attempts.
This PETRO token on EtherDelta is a scam and not the official cryptocurrency of Venezuela: https://etherdelta.com/#0x1ec10eab27b76968cd8b854914cc6eb9f886ce27-ETH
The original coin has symbol PTR and it has it's own wallet, so it's not ERC20 token.
1288  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New social network platform for cryptocurrency on: April 29, 2018, 07:23:57 PM
I don't like the fact that you can't see any content on this platform, unless you register and log in. I might register if I could see what kind of "Cryptocurrency news and market trends" are available and if they are useful or not.
Is anyone already using coinsmarketbook and can share some feedback with us?
1289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will banks ever offer bitcoin deposits? on: April 29, 2018, 06:43:39 PM
We all know how risky bitcoin is. Let's imagine the most riskiest money deposit situation.
What do you think guys, will this moment ever come and banks decide to offer us Bitcoin deposits (e.g. fixed profit on 1 year deposit and etc).
This can be very, very profitable for banks if they make correct decisions.
P.S I don't mean freebitco.in's offer of holds on their wallet. I mean if official banks ever offer us this service.
Banks can provide services for converting crypto currency, while having their interest from each such operation. However, banks are unlikely to accept crypto currency, for example, bitcoin for deposit storage. Banks will not risk, because it is very difficult to predict the bitcoin rate. They constantly warn citizens that investing in bitcoin is a very risky investment, so they will not take bitcoins in a deposit to pay interest on them, knowing about the high volatility of bitcoins.
It's clear that banks or any company will never offer deposits with positive interest rate IN FIAT. For example you lend 1 bitcoin to bank at price $9300 and they will return $9800 after one year no matter what is the price of bitcoin after one year. This is simply too risky for them. But the real question is, are there any companies that offer deposits without conversion - so you lend them 1 bitcoin and receive 1.05 bitcoins after one year. Here the risk is not on their side but on your side. Maybe bitcoin will be worth only half the value after one year, but you will still get only 1.05 bitcoins. Where does the bank get those 0.05 BTC? They get it from people who take credit in bitcoins and return more bitcoins to the bank than they borrowed.
1290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 17 million Bitcoins in circulation in 3.. 2.. 1.. on: April 26, 2018, 08:10:36 PM
Good article on this matter.
I'm linking this chart from the article because I think it's really interesting. It shows how number of bitcoins in existence will grow with time (block height in fact) and how inflation % will keep falling because of reward halving.

One thing I didn't know is that there will never be 21 million Bitcoin, but slightly less.
1291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange KuCoin and KuCoin shares on: April 25, 2018, 12:17:42 PM
THEY LOST 175 NANO ON ME.

5 HOURS TO GET HOLD OF ANY SUPPORT.

SUPPORT BEEN USELESS SO FAR!!!

Waiting time for support tickets is about one week on most exchanges. Even Binance or Bittrex take few days to solve your ticket. So be patient and I am sure you will get your coins back if you didn't make mistake by yourself, for example withdrawing coins to wrong address.
1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 17 million Bitcoins in circulation in 3.. 2.. 1.. on: April 25, 2018, 09:37:18 AM
Well it does not matter if your prediction will be realized or not in the certain you hope for it to occur. But the reality remains the same that eventually bitcoin will reach that Seventeen Million Supply in circulation. This does not matter if that happens this month or next month but the only thing we cannot deny is that it will really reach 17 million bitcoins this year.
It's very close to 17 million so I can guarantee you that is will happen tomorrow! I will probably miss exact time because there are block rewards and all that so it's difficult to get exact time correct.
But it WILL happen tomorrow.

There are ~ 16,996,900 bitcoins mined.
Each day on average there are more 1800 getting mined.
It's going to happen ~ 42 hours from the moment I'm writing this and it's NOT going to be tomorrow.

How did you calculate that date?

Where did you get that data? I think coinmarketcap.com does not have live data. I think we already reached 17 million in circulation, but I can't find live data on blockchain.info, there is only info for yesterday at 2:00 am and tomorrow there will be info for today at 2 am and it will be ~600 coins less than 17m so we will/have already reached 17m Smiley
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is buying new listed coin profitable? on: April 24, 2018, 03:53:44 PM
Yes buying a newly listed coin can be very profitable especially in a bear market, it sells below the ico price.
if the coin has a good tech with a great team behind it, it could easily give you x15 on the long run.
But there are times some coins especially the overhyped ones refuse to leave up to expectations, one has to be very careful whenever he wants to take such decisions.

Yes, this is one reason why token's price is lower than ICO price when it is listed on exchange. The other reason could be that bounty hunters don't know what is the project about and what is real value of token so they sell it for whatever the price is in that moment.

However if demand during ICO was huge and tokens sold out in few hours or even minutes, then price could skyrocket because many people who missed ICO, want to buy. So often times it's good to buy new listed coin. But don't buy it just because it was listed recently. Read about the project and what is the purpose of a coin/token.
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Class - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin Cash on: April 24, 2018, 11:55:59 AM
Haha this fork is funny. You plan to make
Quote
2018.7-
Anti-quantum attack algorithm
in only 3 months? Good luck with that. How are you going to test your algorithm, if there are no stable and capable quantum computers out there?

What are you going to do with those 170,000 premined coins?  Roll Eyes
1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][AIRDROP] - Mumcoin(MUM) - Decentralizing Mum on the Blockchain. on: April 24, 2018, 11:18:37 AM
Why is airdrop form already closed for new participants? I doubt you already have 10k applications because you have less then 3k followers on Twitter.
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MANA]Decentraland Tokenized VIrtual Reality with Open Standards on: April 22, 2018, 10:14:32 PM
What just happened to MANA price? It went from 1400 satoshi to over 3000 satoshi in one hour time (it even touched 3998 satoshi on Binance). Big news or just manipulation?
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRESALE] BITIMAGE.io 🔴⚫️ NEXT-GEN DIGITAL MEDIA MARKETPLACE ⚫️ on: April 22, 2018, 07:48:56 PM
Is the presale already over for this?
No, it begins on 26 April. You can subscribe to mailing list here so that you don't miss it.

One question for Devs. What is legal status of payments with cryptocurrencies (tokens) for digital content - is there tax or not? Because if you are selling digital content on Amazon or wherever and you receive fiat money from buyers, then you need to pay tax, right?
1298  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-22]Blockchain Projects That Can Make Your Life Easier on: April 22, 2018, 06:11:53 PM
I am familiar only with Civic from that list, but some other projects also look interesting. The one that impressed me the most is Estonian e-Residency. I'm creating my digital ID right now.
1299  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ten years later on: April 22, 2018, 01:35:38 PM
The value affects the price, and I'm going to analyze the value of the decade.

To understand the value of bitcoin, we start with the basic value of money, which is also money.

Money is the most common and effective mutual trust system ever. In any form of currency, its value is essentially: "does anyone believe" why the dollar is the most valuable? Because the world believes in it.

The popularity of bitcoin has grown rapidly in recent years with the development of the Internet. I predict that the price of bitcoins in 10 years should be more than half a million dollars.
Yes I think in ten years the bitcoin price almost will hit one mullion dollar if it can stay until that because the price growth of bitcoin is very very higg when we compare each and every year so if we cal calculate the price with the same growth there is no doubt in that it will reach one million.
Your are dreaming. Just do the math. In ten years, circulating supply of Bitcoin will be around 20 million coins. 20,000,000 x $1,000,000 =  $20,000,000,000,000 which is 20 trillion dollars. And that is more than twice as much as total gold market cap is today (value of all gold in the world). Think again.
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the general opinion/feeling towards Bounty Hunters on Bitcoin Talk? on: April 21, 2018, 04:00:32 PM
I think bounties has become significant part of this forum a long time ago and I can't imagine bitcointalk without them. If some people think that bounties cause more spam, then they should fight against spam, not bounty hunters in general because most of them contribute good content to this forum. I think merits are successfully fighting against account farming and spam.
