1285  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] CasinoBitco.in Bit777/Peerbet CBTC Official Thread- JUNE POSTED! on: July 14, 2014, 11:21:56 PM
We are constantly working on finding the happy medium with the juice we charge - trust that it's a fine-balance and a job that never ends, but we are on top of it.

In terms of what we aim to be, of course we want to be the "go-to-shop" for all Bitcoin wagering, that's why we have a sportsbook, a provably fair html5 casino, a flash-based casino (bit777.com), and one of the longest running dice games in the business with peerbet.org under our umbrella! The evolution and 'merging' of the properties is still continuing - and will most likely be a work in progress throughout 2014 - but we are extremely diversed in our offerings.

The main initiative I have the team focussing on right now is ramping up all our properties ahead of NFL... We have about 50 days - but if we execute properly we will be in position to earn the lion share of the BTC Sports betting action. More to come in our monthly report of course.

any plans on  reduce juice for sportsbook ,   bitbook did too things right , reduce juice and customer service.  im looking to load up on some shares. how amped up are u guys on this project,  are u  aiming to become the pinnaclesports of the  btc betting world or  just a good btc book.

1289  Economy / Service Discussion / BlockChain.info API - Issues with callback URI on: July 12, 2014, 07:27:31 PM
Hi Folks - We really never get far with getting resolution through the help desk, but wanted to see if other API users are running into same issue as us.

When we receive transactions using addresses we created through the BlockChain.info API - they are getting forwarded to the correct main address right away (instantly); however we are seeing the callback URI/URL not being invoked until some time afterwards - upwards of 30 minutes. Clearly for any merchant that's doing business with Bitcoin and expects real-time transacations and posts, this is an issue.

Would love to see if we can get some better help on the API - it's always been an afterthought for BlockChain.info in our opinion. Also - if anyone has recommendations on other 3rd parties that offer an API (paid or free), we're all ears.

1291  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of Sportsbooks. Ask books questions, problems and feedback on: July 10, 2014, 04:29:17 PM
Wow dude. "Much BS" if I wanted to quote my DogeCoin pals.

To say what you've said below is complete blasphemy and quite frankly irresponsible. With the amount of BTC we've raised publicly through Havelock, and independently, you can pretty much through your claim out the window. You can do the research - and you can view the public opinion of us and our players. The moment we have one issue with a payout is the day you can make these claims, until them - I'd suggest running your own site to the standards the community desires.

Hi Peeps,

You rated CasinoBitcoin at B- and DirectBet at C.

Do you truly believe that betting on CasinoBitcoin, a Sportsbook that lost 70 BTC in bets since its inception, plus much more on operational expenses, which holds 50 BTC in user deposits and might have used it to cover for its losses, is safer than betting at DirectBet, a Sportsbook that does NOT take deposits and does NOT keep hold of your Bitcoins after the bet is over ?

We don't have anything against CasinoBitcoin, they seem to be nice guys and we appreciate their transparency.

We do however claim that this rating guide is a disguised advertisement for the books that Peeps Place want to promote, and we have proved that 3 of the top 4 rated books in this guide are paying him to promote them in forums.

We also claim that this thread is used as a platform to discredit and spread false and ill informed information on books that did not want to pay Peeps, such as DirectBet.

1292  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of Sportsbooks. Ask books questions, problems and feedback on: July 10, 2014, 04:02:55 PM
... And how much BTC have we raised the past year with our offerings on Havelock and outside through VC?

The fact remains we've been operating for a full year, never missed any player payout or even been a hint of a scam like other sites that pop up and exit in months.. Knowing this very vocal community I can promise you if we didn't pay a user even fractions of a BTC, it would be plastered in many threads (including our own).... May I suggest you do further research and come back with a better informed opinion?

Regarding CasinoBitco.in, I applaud the transparency, but I have to say that I would never deposit at a book that has attracted a total player balance of ~$30k after being open for 14 months, and has yet to show the ability to make a profit as a sportsbook (ignoring casino PnL):

Hi Rulishix - PM me your issue, not sure if the team missed it as the support box is empty!

Answer support emails in 24 hours or less? Got like 40 minutes left on my email, then! Really pushing it.
1294  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of Sportsbooks. Ask books questions, problems and feedback on: July 08, 2014, 02:15:31 PM
Just to chime in here, briefly..

Being publicly traded on Havelock is fantastic for players and investors as we are required to report full transparency and are regularly audited to ensure our books are clean.

In our year of operations we are in fact down in the Sportsbook - but have NEVER missed a payment or handled risk inappropriately. Having a profitable provably fair casino and deep pockets from the capital we've raised has helped us weather the storm per se. And as reported in our monthly report we are now on a 3rd party odds provider which does help us offer more liquid markets and much larger wager sizes, and we seem to have turned a corner (but it's still a bit too early to tell).  Honestly, if I were a player and saw a book has lost, but consistently paid out winners, I'd be more than willing to play at that site than a new comer --- but that's just me.

1295  Economy / Gambling / Re: Peerbet.org/PeerDice.org *INVEST* 0.3% House Edge! Multiplayer Dice! BTC & Alts! on: July 07, 2014, 01:03:25 PM
As we migrate all credentials over to the CasinoBitco.in Authentication model, PeerBet users will inherit 2FA as well as other perks like our best-in-class affiliate program.

Timeframe for this work effort is most likely within the next 3 months as we complete the redesign of PeerBet (screenshots were included in our investor's report posted on Havelock Investments)

any chance for 2FA to be implemented? should be standard security imo.
1296  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] CasinoBitco.in Bit777/Peerbet CBTC Official Thread- JUNE POSTED! on: July 04, 2014, 06:43:03 PM
We have two folks that are considered fulltime, myself and 'casinobitcoin'. Neither of us currently take a salary, instead we have equity in the company and earn that way.

So we don't have any full time employees? Everyone is a contractor? Do you not take any kind of salary?
1297  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] CasinoBitco.in Bit777/Peerbet CBTC Official Thread- APRIL POSTED! on: July 04, 2014, 06:24:30 PM
Contractor Development is the category we use for paying contractors that work on the site.

Breakdown for June is as follows

Development / UI / Testers : ~75% of the Contractor Development Expenses *
Marketing / PR :  ~15% of the Contractor Development Expenses
Support : ~10% of the Contractor Development Expenses

Our agreement when we signed up with Havelock a year ago was that they get a certain percentage of the funds we raise during IPVO's and there is a 1 BTC listing fee on-going. We pay this diligently, they need to pay employees, server costs, legal expenses etc just like us!

* This month we paid out 8 BTC to folks that submitted exploits - this is very high, and something I'm really looking to lock down.
All said, given the work we are looking to tackle across the Sportsbook, Casino and PeerBet in the next 2-3 months - I'd say the expenses should stay around the same, or even go up higher,  as we'll need to acquire more talent to work faster the available before NFL is shrinking.

Point taken on NXT!  We had to do a lot of refactoring to get DRK out the door (next week is our timeframe for that), but it should be much easier to swap coins in and out now as we've refactored a bit of the Bit777/PeerBet code to handle new currencies.

Things are looking good, great work. Just a few questions:

How come we never see an expense broken out for the normal payment of employee wages? I'd like see break outs for Support Personnel, Developers, Testers, and Marketing resources, but as things stand I can't see a single expense category that any of these fit into. (contractor development being the closest)?

Why are we so low (and slipping) on SEC for bitcoin sportsbook? This is the big term I think we should focus on.

What exactly are you paying havelock 1 btc/m for? You already raised your money, and now they are making their money off of trade fees. I can't imagine why they'd be taking such a steep sum from us. Will they be taking this indefinitely?

Sidenote:

Please do a bit of further research on NXT. Dark is slipping into oblivion due to the fact that's in main selling points are easily added on to bitcoin itself. There is no way it can last. NXT on the other hand brings many new ideas and innovations to the table that bitcoin cannot touch, not only that it has a much higher market cap and volume then DRK, and I strongly believe that this gap will continue to widen and that we are wasting our time supporting DRK. The NXT community is a strong one and very willing to throw money at something that adds value to their ecosystem. There was a poll recently that for some reason I can't find now and a good gambling site was one of the higher voted items. I think there is a good opportunity here, so at the very least spend a bit of time on research, NXT is completely different from all the other copy coins out there - it may even support instant transaction comfirmations very soon! Hell we could even move our shares to the nxt asset exchange to save that havelock fee;)

Cheers Doog - you are doing, and have always done, great work here.

Hope you get some relief and get well soon!

I'm still kinda confused.

I'm not an investor of JD , but it would be great if you could update the OP to an explanation of what has happened or alternatively create a new thread about this.

What do you plan to do now ? Are you going to call it quits or are you going to start up again in some other form?
(I hope you have not already answered this)

I don't have any fixed plans. I have been in a lot of pain, on medication for it, and trying to focus on returning the coins.

Of the 53,000 coins Just-Dice was holding, only 2,500 are left now. That's less than 5%.  Over 95% of the coins we were entrusted with have been returned to their owners in just 8 days.

I do hope to find a way to bring the sites back legally. I'm not prepared to comply with invasive KYC/AML regulations so if it's a choice between snooping on players and shutting down the site, I'll shut down the site.

Hopefully there's an alternative where I can move the site to a more friendly locality which doesn't drive business away with silly regulations.
