What I see in XMR price is stability. The average for the time Crypto Kingdom has existed (Oct 2014-present) is 0.44 EUR, currently 0.46 EUR.

Year Change to 1621, Health, and Building Use

Most of the Year-Change script for 1621 is already executed (it has 35 different items). Especially notable is that the land taxes and building dividends are clearly attributed to the Lot owned, in the Notes field.

Since this was such an awaited feature, the land dividends were dealt 3 years at once. In total, 11,500*IC was dealt + 3,600 mil.

What remains of the script, will be executed tomorrow, or right after the "actual" Year Change (turning the time and reseting Health Challenge) on Sunday 23:59 UTC.

* * *

All characters health will be checked and evaluated. As previously, if no health challenges have been responded to, the gamemaster evaluates if the probable reason is lack of communication or similar oversight. The character may be given mercy and the health retroactively updated to the state that corresponds well-done health challenges (and the costs billed to Resta). If the health challenges have been responded to, but inadequately, causing the character to die, we have to take it as a decision from the owner.

On Monday we will see how many funerals the town needs to bear in 1621. It feels sad that many from the first generation is buried "before seeing the promised land", but that is the way life is. Very soon we have the complete and thought-out way to get new characters ingame, allowing a new start for the oldies as well. (Character registration is open all the time, just without helps)

* * *

When executing the Building dividends script, it became evident that the different Building uses have become quite imbalanced in returns. If a building is qualified to be a Rental, Cul or Sci flexibly, it has the following returns when allocated to each:
1. As Rental, 110,000 m
2. As Cul, 1 CUL + 1 IC (IC alone is worth 250-300k)
3. As Sci, 1 SCI (about 200k)

So Rentals are the underdog here. Good that the situation can be balanced by changing some of the rentals to Cul or Sci buildings, which increases the production of CUL / SCI (lowering their price) and decreases the number of "shares" in Rental pool (causing the monetary dividend to go up).

The Buildings master file is still in the old Google DB /BLDG tab column "AZ". (This is the only thing in the game where the master data is in Google.) The old admins who know the buildings, they can make the judgement whether a certain building is qualified to be a Cul or Sci building. Main considerations:

Rental(1): If the building is type residence (but not personal), apartment block, office block, or any other really, it can be chosen to be Rental.

Cul(2): Personal residence(s) MUST be Cul type but any large, prominent, luxurious, public space or similar can be Cul if allocated. Apartment Blocks and places with insufficient Lux may not be allocated to Cul.

Sci(3): There are less restrictions for Sci buildings compared to Cul. Office blocks are qualified. Lux need not be so high. In B.3, Sci buildings get 25% extra yield.

Ind(4): This designation does not produce anything of the above but you may not change it because the building is reserved to produce something else such as windows or carriages.

So if you seek to finetune your production, check the situation yourself and ask the admins to make the changes to the DB.

Food for thought: Acquiring XMR at the moment (unless you have a complex netbot at your disposal) is quite hard to get on hold to WITHOUT being identified. This is because at almost every case an exchange is the intermediate. So, in essence, you lack of true anonymity. Granted, if you make a transaction you achieve "true" anonymity, but you cannot undo your involvement that certifies that you were -at least- once involved with hidden wealth.

It is important to know where the battle line is. Compliance with tyranny is futile.

Hydrogen Helix Commemorative Coins A.D. 1620

It is not every century that a new Monero version is released!

Therefore, the Royal Mint is dedicating the entire Coins series in 1620 to Hydrogen Helix!!

CR1620E ** 5 CKG Gold ** 20 minted (rare, 10 gifted to fluffypony, rest for sale by coinshop)

CR1620B ** 2 CKG Gold ** 100 minted (semi-rare, 50% over spot)

CR1620A ** 1 CKG Gold ** 14 minted (rare, virgin gold, raffled, aftermarket only)

CS1620E ** 5 CKS Silver ** 50 minted (semi-rare, for sale by coinshop)

CT1620 ** copper token ** 250 minted (gifted 1/char, the rest are for sale)

I have a feeling that these ones will be among the most coveted collectibles of the early 1600s, since they also commemorate the Centenary of the Trust In Economy movement (1520 / 2014-12-09) the most difficult time in CK history.
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: January 02, 2016, 05:15:03 PM
I am so happy with Hydrogen Helix I decided to increase my previous 100 CKG donation by 900 CKG, for a total of 1000 CKG donation to MoneroHouse! Thanks to all the devs.

update: 996 CKS donated to the Obelisk! Consumed 83 TS156 CKS coins.

PS. Seems to be a bug with M right now. When I consumed the CKS for the Obelisk, my M balance was deducted...? And it shows -6 mil now on the main page, but in Agora is the same as it was before (about 10 mil).

WOW for the donations. Also HE Prince of Soul donates 75*IC for the obelisk and Town Hall donates 25*IC.

King will soon consummate the promised 500 CKS.

Also the bug with reporting "M" balances in the UI and another one with reporting "exists" are now fixed!

James Daniel Sword

Jungherr James Daniel (some address him Prince, which technically is incorrect since the flesh relatives of the King do not become royals nor princes unless appointed by the Monarch) is a handsome, strong man. Peaceful as he is, he feels that the peace in the Kingdom is best preserved by addressing the threats when they are still afar. He is often seen with Knights and other young nobles practicing swordsmanship in the remote squares in the town, and takes frequent trips to the countryside for these pursuits as well.

His sword is a big one, Longsword with a Very Powerful edge and Elaborate finish. Even with elaboracy, it is still too heavy to be used by the King (who does not have much reputation of a swordsman as he's never been seen with a drawn sword) or HRH Prince Zechariah (who used to be an avid rider and swordsman with 1-handed swords, but those days are long gone with the prince more and more indulged in commerce these days).

The origins of James Daniel Sword are mysterious. A pertinent rumor says that when he reached the age of 14, in 1614, the grandfather had this sword made for him and presented it to him personally. Now the mysterious part is that his known grandfather is the person only known as The Old Duke of the Very Ancient Duchy, who was reportedly alive when his son (the King rpietila I of Crypto Kingdom still reigning) took over in 1400. In the whole written history in the CryptoTown era (1430-) there is no mention of him.

Nevertheless, the sword now to be converted from IC is easy to calculate:

Level: 3(longsword)+1(imported)+3(very powerful)+1(elaborate)+2(base cost) = K10
Price: 10-1(being very powerful and at least elaborate)-1(being the first sword of this character) = 8. Lookuptable 8 => 200 IC. Backdated to 1614 => 239 IC.

Once Lord Syksy returns from his travels, James Daniel has a weapon in his hand!

New Permanent IC Conversion Table

Our scientists have finally figured the perfect formula for IC conversion, so that it does not need to be changed weekly. The Permanent table will be prominently displayed now in this thread, and soon in the game itself. IC will be possible to be used to gain many items from the international trade.

If you want to exchange your IC for these items, the command is as follows:

CONSUME IC amount [note]

It is important to have the square brackets [ ]. The "note" is the tell for the admins what you want to be converted from the IC. If there is no note, it is treated as a donation. Please use the notes from the official list to avoid ambiguity. We will automatize the system soon, after which only the correct notes will gain you the items.

CATEGORIES (WILL BE AMENDED WHEN MORE THINGS ARE INTRODUCED)

WINES

The French Wines are international renown (and the Germanians are the runner-up). When wines comes to initial market, they are cheap, but Town will add 10,000 m tax at some point afterwards to the then-existing stock. This can only be done once, so every further conversion after the taxation will be tax-free. Conversion prices in the aftermarket go up. Currently available are the following post-plague wines (pre-plague cannot be had any more):

W1611  2/IC  (note: W1611)
W1614  3/IC  (note: W1614)
W1612  4/IC  (note: W1612)
W1616  6/IC  (note: W1616)
W1615W  6/IC  (note: W1615W)

When a wine ends up on this list, it can only drop out once. After that it cannot be reintroduced. The price can only be 12, 6, 4, 3, 2 or 1 bottles per IC. The price can never go down, only up. Town will take its tax cut when it is expedient (at GM discretion). The taxation will per se not affect the conversion.

SPIRITS

Spirits are not converted from IC because they are a Town racket to raise cash.

SILVER

The basic premise of silver conversion is "you get fixed grams per IC". This has been as large as 32 grams in the very ancient times and now is 2 grams. When we are talking about imported items (wholly paid with IC), the price of silver has risen to be so large as to overshadow the manufacturing cost. So it is possible to simplify the things and use the following formulae for determining the IC price of silver items, whatever kind (assuming silver is the main raw material):

TS16x Silver Coins = no premium   (note: TS162)  <- note that since the coin is 12 CKS, the IC must be divisible by 6!!
Elaborate items = 1 IC/instance + 5%
Most Elaborate items = 2 IC/instance + 10%
Very Elaborate items = 4 IC/instance + 20%

Silver items are to be made realistic size. If you want to make a solid silver tray for instance, their weights range in the real world from 500 g to several kilos. A single soup spoon weighs 50-60 CKS. Silver jewelry is an interesting possibility as it does not need to be more than a few grams and is thus affordable even in very elaborate quality.

Previously Town taxed incoming TS-silver coins in kind (as a % of the coins). This has been streamlined such that 20% of their value is taxed instead and since IC value is 100,000 m/IC (regardless of the market value), the tax per such a coin is 0.6 mil. This will be collected when the conversion period ends, ie. in 1630 next time. If silver/IC rate changes in the meantime, the loss in on the Town.

SWORDS
(original error is corrected)

The troubles in foreign lands have prompted us to reintroduce Swords to the game. (item: Sword and the skill: Swordsmanship, will in later releases be an important personal skill and you get a bonus by starting now.) Due to neglect of the sword making in the Kingdom, proper swords are Imported.

The formula to calculate the level and price of a new sword is as follows:
- Define the parameters
- Add the points
- The number of points will determine your sword level and price
- For backdating (to 1600 the earliest), add 3% for each year to the cost

Parameters
1. Size of the Sword   (1=dagger, 2="dress sword", 3=longsword)
2. Imported   (1 always)
3. Elaborate   (Refers to appearance: 0=None, 1=Elaborate, 2=Most Elaborate, 3=Very Elaborate
4. Powerful   (Refers to all qualities forming the battle value) 0=No, 1=Powerful, 2=Most Powerful, 3=Very Powerful)
5. Base level/cost      (2 always)

Additional rules
1. A sword must be at least 1 point in either Elaborate or Powerful.
2. If a sword is Very Elaborate or Very Powerful, and simultaneously at least 1 point in the other attribute, get 1 point discount in price while the level stays the same.
3. If the character commissioning the sword has never owned a sword in the game, get 1 point discount in the price while the level stays the same. (This bonus may end without warning as the campaign ends.)

With these formulas, it is possible to create K5-K10 swords starting at 10 IC (a K3 dagger for a previous non-owner).

As you can see, some combinations cause the sword to exceed the allowed range of item levels (K10) and are thus disallowed.

There is only one K10 sword in existence in the game, TMA Sword of Mario from 1462.

ART

ART-items are in levels K7-K10 only and thus cost a minimum 100 IC + possible backdating.

Special: PARTICIPATE IN THE "SILVER OBELISK"

Consume IC with the note [obelisk] or silver-containing items with the note [obelisk] for a limited time to get your name to the base of the Closing Obelisk located in the midpoint of the Trust in Economy Square between House of Magnificence (north), Duke of OZ North African Palace (south), Hall of Justice (west) and Clocktower (east). The IC and silver will be used for decorating the Obelisk.

PRACTICALITIES

The admins Sir Mooo and Lord Syksy will make the conversions as follows:
- Mooo responsibility is all the generic items, for which the item code is clearly indicated in the [notes]. He will check the situation in a frequent basis meaning there should not be more than 48 hours delay to get the items.
- Syksy will NEW and CREATE the unique items (including swords). For this to happen, you need to inform him beforehand what you are up to and use the [notes] provided by him.

LOOKUP TABLE THAT SHOWS THE CORRELATION OF ITEM LEVEL AND ITS "BASE COST" IN IC

In case of Swords, it is possible to get up to 2 price levels of discount with the item level staying the same as explained under Swords.

In case of Silver, all IC spent on the material cost and premiums is taken into account when determining level.

Backdating does not benefit in determining level.

Level is always rounded down, eg. K7=100-199 IC

K1 = 1 IC
K2 = 2 IC
K3 = 5 IC
K4 = 10 IC
K5 = 20 IC
K6 = 50 IC
K7 = 100 IC
K8 = 200 IC
K9 = 500 IC
K10 = 1000 IC

It is considered a good practice to donate a few IC (or anything else) to the person doing the conversion for you. You can use the command:

GIVE IC 3 Mooo [Thanks for W1612! Smiley] when thanking for staple items, or

GIVE IC 10 Syksy [Thanks for sword! Smiley] when thanking for unique items.

The easiest way to hedge your fortunes is to acquire the same number of XMR as you own BTC, since then it does not matter to you how their mutual exchange rate goes and which technology gains more. Only 0.1% of your BTC need to be diverted to buying XMR to achieve this.

So if you have 21BTC you should have 21 monroj or 2100?

21 XMR. It is actually more % of the total than 21 BTC is (both as per current emission and the long term until ~2050 when XMR overtakes BTC).

So it's not about the monetary sacrifice, it's sacrificing the principle that BTC is infallible and all alts are shit by definition.  Grin
1290  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 02, 2016, 10:09:12 AM
And to celebrate the 700,000 views, I will drop another bombshell:

During my relatively absent months in the forum (the time that I have mainly developed Crypto Kingdom), I have been thinking. The thinking is that Bitcoin as a vehicle of freedom is likely lost. The transparency and decentralization either were planned to self-destruct it, or it was too easy to be subverted to be part of the control-based world money system. People wiser than me saw this a long time ago, and also said that once the "occupation" of Bitcoin is complete, then its value will be let rise meteorically, because people cannot take the gains out anyway, and the value rise will trap the last mohicans with 100, 1000 or 10,000 BTC holdings who are charged with whatever financial crimes if they try to diversify (unless they are the insiders who get away with anything). So if you are living off-grid, you may now be able to take $100k out of Bitcoin, but when Bitcoin is 100x more valuable, you can still get $100k, maximum.

Monero version 0.9 "Hydrogen Helix" is released. There has not been new releases of Monero core for a very long time. It might be good to check out if you don't own any. The price has been modest (slightly up in fiat y/y, slightly down in BTC)

The easiest way to hedge your fortunes is to acquire the same number of XMR as you own BTC, since then it does not matter to you how their mutual exchange rate goes and which technology gains more. Only 0.1% of your BTC need to be diverted to buying XMR to achieve this.

Freedom of expression is tricky stuff.

I really didn't expect you to enforce conformity like this after all you've said.

After all what I said, such as the OP of the thread, 2 years and 6,800 posts ago:

Welcome to the new business lounge. Wine and cigars are on the house.

The intention of this thread is to post analysis on short to medium term fiat/BTC price developments, scenarios, portfolio allocation, etc. what fits the topic. No double bottoms, ad hominem, trolling or low level comments. As usual, your post will be deleted if not conforming to guidelines above.
(boldings added)

So let it be repeated that the purpose of this self-moderated thread is NOT to give "freedom of expression" to anyone. This is my "business lounge", fit for passing discussions about interesting topics, and then we move on to the next. I moderate the discussion for the benefit of the participants and the lurkers. When you read or post in this thread you accept the rules, and this thread has spawned a multitude of critique threads during its years of existence, where the ousted trolls can post the Mr.Burns pics (I personally find that one really funny though).

"As usual", your post will be deleted for non-conformity. Fatman3001, don't get offended that I am rubbing this to your face, the point is just to return to the common ground since you obviously did not even know that this is one of the most censored threads in the whole forum!  Cheesy

(If you want "freedom of expression", do as I did - start your own thread! The global admins are just happy that you take the burden of moderation from them.)

Moderator note: I delete posts that degrade the quality of discussion. If your post is deleted, please think why that might be and don't post the same thing again. Finding out the Truth in the delicate matter of a freedom activist first being regarded as a criminal for years, and then suddenly changed to a nutcase instead is interesting. To allow intelligent discussion to take place, behave yourselves.

1298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: January 01, 2016, 11:02:12 PM
Many years ago, the citizens of Crypto Kingdom donated 2079 CKG to gild the Most Esteemed Obelisk in Old Town, one of the first landmarks of the Kingdom.

The year is now 1620, 100 years after the great Trust In Economy era, in which nobody was certain if CK would last or not.

We have since continuted to thrive for another century, and it is time to erect another great monument to celebrate.

Citizens, we must cover the Closing Obelisk in 2-C with Silver! Located in Trust In Economy Square, this obelisk was built in 1599.

It is not yet known how much CKS we need to cover the obelisk, as silver is not as malleable as gold. We are going to need as much as we can get!

Everyone is hereby encouraged to donate as much CKS (or IC) as they can for coating the Obelisk in silver. If you want to donate IC, the conversion rate is 2:1 CKS:IC, for example 2500 IC would get 5000 CKS.

This is syncronicity, so many things converging at the same time! The Royal House will donate 100*5 CKS silver coins for starters and I am sure the Town is willing to let go of their IC (~500 of it).

Let's do it and show to all the nations!

Quote
Just CONSUME item amount [obelisk] to leave a note that it is for the obelisk!

Yes, and please be very careful here.
The syntax for consuming with a note is:
CONSUME item amount [note]

Remember to have the [ and ] .

* * *

We will soon have a full list of IC-convertibles with Naturalist Mooo guarding the IC and manually doing the conversion. And a few weeks after, the conversion will happen directly with a command such as CONVERT amount_ic new_item.

Whenever exercising free speech is a "problem", we truly have a problem.

Labeling entirely peaceful people who have never as much as hit a human, "dangerous", we truly have a problem.

Not meddling each others' affairs is now "irresponsible". We truly have a problem.

The name of the problem is "1984", people living in dystopia not even realizing it and calling it normal. Orwell called it "controlled insanity". No, not mine. Yours.   Embarrassed

In Estonia you can get fined 30 euros when someone complains that it is slippery in front of your house. Makes me want to live off the grid more and more.

Oh you also live in Estonia what a coincidence! My project is to make the Bitcoin Castle (Malla mõis) self-sufficient. Wanna team up? Smiley
