Yeah would be nice to have a peer-2-peer exchange built into the Bitcoin client.

Although... I'd have expected a competent judge to contact me and ask my opinion on whether the device is capable of the 27 Gh/s required, in case my current results were the result of software issues. But it's immaterial, since as best as I can tell so far, I'm getting the most performance out of it that it can handle.
75% of 40 GH/s is 30 GH/s. The device didn't come close to the required speed for the bet. The bet was clearly won. It was a 30GH unit (Little SC),not the 40 or 60GH unit.............................. LittleSC was not mentioned in the bet or announced when the bet was created. 3 products were mentioned in the yahoo artical libked from the bet. LOL it's 100% of a 25GH/s Mini Rig (FPGA)

Put Linux on another partition and only use it for the Bitcoin client.
*writing windows virus that reads ext filesystems* the partition could be on a USB memory stick so you could remove it and lock it in a fire proof safe even if you got the wallet.dat file you need to decrypt it. people get hacked by downloading another program (like mining software) that key logs their password.

As someone pointed out, how about a peer-2-peer exchange, https://ripple.comI'm not sure how that works, I just want a client on my desktop, not an online client subject to me having access to their web page during a DDOS attack.

It was working for a few seconds then I got..
Database access error, please retry later

Looks like someone needs to invent the peer-2-peer exchange for the peer-2-peer currency.

If BFL started shipping 31st April, like they claim, and they can produce 400 a day, like they claim, then there should be 1200 happy BFL owners today? I really hope you ment March 31st as April 31st is not a day that exists and is still 28 days away. The cleverly disguise April 31st as May 1st.... Yup, put 1st April, then edit fail on 31st March. I would love it if BFL had a working ASIC to send us but I suspect 25GH/s (link below) may just be their old FPGA Mini Rig mining. http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1CdcYVP4T4hjHwt353pEnGHrigeDLvuvZL

Notice that drop? Did they switch the little SC for an old Minirig? :p (Argh! someone beat me to it) Is nobody even suspicious about the 25MH/s mining number? THAT'S WHAT A FPGA MINI RIG PRODUCES! Could the photo be fake, and what's mining for Luke Jr is really a FPGA Mini Ring?

The Title and poll are at odds. (True/False) is an unclear choice. Did Bets of Bitcoin correctly decide = FALSE "BFL will not ship ASIC before April"? = TRUE and the OP can switch these around to set the final result the way he wants by editing the post. "True" means that BFL failed to ship before April.
"False" means that BFL shipped before April.

USA takes a dim view of online gambling sites that do not pay out to US Citizens.. http://money.cnn.com/2012/07/02/news/companies/poker-ponzi/index.htmA bitcoin is no different to a poker chip and you have people/family involved in this bet with previous criminal record for international lottery scam. Surely gonna interest the FBI, you'd be better paying out, than stirring up a hornets nest.

Hoarded. Who in their right mind spends money that will buy more tomorrow than it does today. With the exception of spending it on a money printing machine. Poor velocity always kills hard money systems in the end.

The BFL ASIC never left the BFL Lab therefor it was never "shipped". Avalons where photographed being unpacked from their shipping containers.

Do GPUs burn very often when they are mining?
Only if you go crazy with the overclock.
