I've just gotten a friendly webdeveloper interested in creating Nxt payment modules for Wordpress, prestashop and magento (possibly other open source e-commerce systems, too).

He's currently swamped with work, but is going to read up this week and I expect a reaction during next week.
good. I would also vote for Shopify and Drupal, maybe also donating button for Blogger Smiley

Registration for the Toronto, Canada Bitcoin conference in April (Bitcoin Expo 2014) is now open:

http://www.bitcoinexpo.ca/registration.php

Prices in CDN$:
- The dates are April 11-13, and prices range up to $400 for the VIP package.
- Airfare from where *I* am to Toronto comes to about $650

I am going to reach out to the organizers later today to find out about speaking possibilities / exhibition possibilities.  The theme of the conference may make a speaking opportunity for Nxt a little tricky, but I'm sure we can get expo space if we look into it.  I'll let you know more as soon as I can.
maybe you could try to go very deep in the Nxt decentralized system - to show its opportunities
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 03, 2014, 03:08:32 PM

However, if James directs this, then I will disburse as authorized.  Like he has for this 75K NXT for crazy-expensive $75 CPM audio spots over in another thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.new#new
Just for the record, your math is wrong, so anyone who agrees on this assumption, should make his own calculations first

It's a fact that James has authorized 75K NXT and I will be disbursing that later today as directed.

I understood that the audio spots were twice weekly for three months reaching an audience of 10,000 and were funded at a level of 275K NXT when NXT was priced at 0.07 USD each given the current Bitcoin price.  That's 275,000 * 0.07 = $19,250 for 13 weeks * twice weekly * 10,000 people = 260,000 impressions for a CPM of 19250/260 = $74.03.  I rounded to $75 for sake of an even number to use in discussion.
because in previous text you were counting only on 13 spots and not 26. But you must add many important things - if we didn't book it in couple of hours, ethereum would have bought that minute. Then, there is a difference between listeners of LTB and any other ordinary visitors of websites etc. Listeners of LTB have big influence on other people (journalists...) - those listeners can speak directly to the celebrities/important people, listeners of LTB are experts, advisors with huge power
1284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 03, 2014, 02:41:55 PM
3 million = 0.3% of all NXT. If it brings success, then 99% of NXT will benefit of this 0.3%. BUT - if NXT goes up, 1 million today would be like 10-100 million in a year

its up to the marketing committee it's there responsibility now.
Just for the record, your math is wrong, so anyone who agrees on this lie should make his own calculations first
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt marketing & promotion :: Nxt now on Cryptmarket! [articles bounties] on: February 03, 2014, 02:08:03 PM
It is time to formalize who is on the marketing committee and how large it is. This committee will decide on how the 3 million NXT will be spent in 2014
Once a decision is made, the treasurer will disburse the funds. The treasurer cannot be on any funding committee.
This is a big breakthrough in funding logistics. I suggest for a rule that the marketing committee consider payments of salary normalized to fiat for people like salsacz who are working fulltime and making results. To avoid conflict of interest, any voting on salary issues should not count the votes of anybody that is being considered for salary position
This is common sense, I hope you agree
I agree

I would like to thank neer.g a lot for paying 1/3 - 90.000 for the Lets Talk Bitcoin spot.

141.000 has been paid by donators, so it leaves us with 150.000 that were borrowed from the NxtMarketing

If there was still any donator willing to help with this important spot, acc is:

thanks
1289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 03, 2014, 08:40:42 AM
CfB,

I suggest we put up a slate of 7 trusted members that the thread discussing this will recommend. Then we put it up for an up or down vote.

If approved, the unclaimed NXT are divided among the trusted 7. They will be obligated to disburse funds that are approved by a marketing committee (3 Million NXT) and a tech committee (5 Million NXT) and an infrastructure committee (1 Million Nxt).

The election to the marketing, tech and infrastructure committees are independent from the decentralization of the unclaimed NXT. This means we can independently figure out who is on the three different committees and as soon as one group is formed, projects can be funded.

The community has already decided on 250,000 NXT per month for Marketing, so the marketing committee task is to figure out how best to allocate that budget.

tech and infrastructure committees have not formed yet, but we don't need to figure out all the details for getting the trusted 7 members in place.

Please approve this, or if unacceptable let me know what you don't like and we can modify the process.

James

In case of voting about 20 members don't be afraid to add more names. For example I would love to have a female among those 20 people

Here a little light reading for u guys, looks like I finished it at a very appropriate moment:

EvilDaves totally non-evil Carbon-offset program for NXT

my dad is a world famous ecology prof, so maybe I could provide some expertises or get forwarded to even more active people (+ big contacts with green party, societies, academics and third world countries)

Same here, I just need my bicycle....having said that:

@Damelon: thinking about hiring a biggish auto/bus for conference transport (5-9 seats), should cost around €50-75 per day....
no, we are green, so we just need more bikes Cheesy

I'm going to NYC but I live here so I don't need any money for that.

I would like some consideration for my proposal here:  https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,3441.msg32673.html#msg32673

tl:dr
Info cards with a redeemable code for a private faucet that securely gives a NEW user 10,20 etc NXT
Cards to be handed out at events, with budget for SHIPPING cards to other events, globally.

things like these will be paid from the conf fund:

5,000 post cards, Color front, BW back 4”x6” $200       NXT 2000
Label printer and 5,000 thermal labels, ~ $300      N 3000
Rollout wave 2
Shipping Budget (250 cards per event, $10 each)      N 2000

1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT - Voting on the scope of authority of the funding committee on: February 02, 2014, 11:18:26 PM
To me, the payment for being on a committee is that my NXT becomes more valuable.

A committee is going to be guiding NXT for a long, long time.  Long after the unallocated 10M NXT is gone.  After it's gone, where is the payment for a committee coming from?

I am voting for no payment of committee members.  Volunteering is commitment.

Easy to say when you are in the top 50 though.
Me, salsacz, justabit, nifty etc. who has done sooo much for NXT don't have a big stake.
I got NXT added to BTER, I wasn't really rewarded shit for it. We sent Nifty to the Bitcoin conference where he KILLED it and noone was rewarded for it.
How are we supposed to be paid for the fact that we are a huge part of the reason for NXT's success?
no, even if you create a FIRST bounty gdoc, lead it transparent, even at that time crazy fanatics come and hunt you down like you were some waste.

I was helping Nxt 12 hours a day for free and what did I get? Stupid hysterical fanatical Witchhunt?

There is 200 Nxt especially for the conf. Other coins could be borrowed from the same acc from NxtMarketing, but it would be nice to give them back, because conferences have too high budget. There is already a loan for the radio spot (currently 250k). In past there were big discussions about funds, so I quickly published this acc, where I already had 100k before CFB's donation, so then I sent them to the different account.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgAGADgnQcrtdHRrV3V3Z1lzOXVEMWtqdElUaEtqV1E#gid=15

Can you tell the community to which account you have sent 100k please thank you

please quote me he has me on ignore

have to quote myself:

100k missing in marketing account and no one cares?!

I think you are getting a bit overly worked up at the moment, even if the question is valid...

Can we have an answer to this, please?

Tempers are running a bit hot today.  Smiley

no what answer?

Btw, I don't see Salsa's salary in that Google doc. I hope he doesn't work for free, this is not what I expected when sent 250k.
Well, I still didn't have a time to think about this. It is the best in these cases to ask utopian/uniqueorn, or pin Smiley

As you maybe noticed, I always "announce" future payments in the gdoc for any comments before sending payments from NxtMarketing acc. Few days have passed, so the last payments are in same criterias as previous:
