mtgox in uk?

Barclays closed their account.

Barclays own Pingit.

They don't want no other virtual currency competing with theirs.  Wink
1302  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Ships their First ASIC on: April 02, 2013, 10:44:08 AM
Having been an Eligius miner in the past, this is the last person I'd trust to tell me they have a working ASIC.

Is Luke_Jr still in the Butterfly Labs building after they paid to fly him over? Hardly a "delivered" product if it never left the building.

Bitcoin bets should stay valid for not delivering in March!

Maybe excuse for getting out of the promised Seppuku!!!! Wink

Not to mention the thing seems to run at 179w/24.86GH/s not 30w/30Gh/s

Still , better than nothing, hoping they are ready to ship the promised 400 units a day now.

Probably should edit the web site to say you sell a 25GH/s product though.  Roll Eyes
1303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which video card is better? on: April 01, 2013, 03:40:26 PM
The PSU guidlines are generally 2x or greater than the actual power draw.

You'll probably draw 200-230 watts.

Worse that happens you break the PSU Cheesy

If you use PCI-E to molex adapters spread the load out over different power wires.

More memory always helps for litecoin mining, plus you can run GTA4 in very high setting!  Wink
1306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is it even worth trying to get mining this late in the game? on: April 01, 2013, 12:51:12 PM
You cannot mine with laptops unless you use FPGA or ASIC.

Buy a cheap Core 2 Duo desktop $90

and stick an Ati 5830 in it $90

then you should have 260-300MH/s
1307  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nvidia 7300LE GPU work with mining? on: April 01, 2013, 12:46:37 PM
Nvidia doesn't work for mining.

Get Ati 5830s same price as 6770/5770 but faster and cooler

You can still make money mining at $90 per BTC

if it drops because of ASICs, switch to mining LiteCoins, and you still have a decent gaming PC.
1308  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is this chart really indicating? on: April 01, 2013, 01:26:20 AM
When the price goes up and there is volume behind it, it means it's a genuine price move.  Wink
1309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Choice for mining rig operating system on: April 01, 2013, 01:18:04 AM
LinuxCoin

Just burn it to a USB stick and you're ready to go.

There are some other Bitcoin mining distros out there.
1310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BFL Delivery time question on: April 01, 2013, 12:50:27 AM
They've been shipping 2 weeks from now since October 2012  Wink

Before we go proclaiming them "legit" check out the date on that news article...

Butterfly Labs Announces Next Generation ASIC Lineup
          PRWeb – Sat, Jun 16, 2012

Now check your watch...

9 Months later, this is how far they got...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C4bgho5JSI&list=HL1364777092

it returns 15 test nonces and uses 3x as much power as it was designed to use.

This mean the Jalapeno, SC Single 60Gh/s, and Mini Rig SC are all foobared outside their heat/power levels!

If you're lucky they might be able to produce some Hot Power Hungry Little Singles 30Gh/s.

But we've still not seen it able to mine anything yet!
1312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoin hasten the collapse of the US dollar? on: March 31, 2013, 07:29:56 PM
The dollar collapsed in 1971 when Nixon default on the gold standard and ended Bretton Woods.

All that happened is they created a new Dollar.

Are they teaching your kids foreign language in school (Spanish/French)?
Is there a free trade agreement (NAFTA)?
Are there designs for a new currency (Amero)?

All this stuff happened just before the Euro was created too.  Wink

take 100 dollars gold and issue 1000 dollars in promissory notes) seems to be flawed.

You need to understand fiat currency is a debt note, it's backed by debt servitude, your need to earn back your debt notes, to pay down your debt, is what give it it's value.

When people stop borrowing, you get less money created, and so deflation.

The system works fine except for the part where politician can take on debt in your name, before you're even born, thus enslaving you!

Well seeing as the UK taxpayers have already been forced to own 100% Northern Rock, 85% of RBS and 40% of Lloyds, TSB, HBOS it's a bit like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

And now Osbourne says the UK taxpayer should back 20% of all future mortgages because people cannot afford deposits. This is the UK equivalent of Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac! More taxpayer funds on the hook for morons who take on too much debt.

Never should a government get in the way of capitalism. Weak hands need to fail and then strong hands can buy the assets and run them better.

1316  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for simple GPU setup to get started... on: March 31, 2013, 05:55:26 PM
Yeah something with a normal 5.25 CD/DVD drive will likely be a normal ATX size case and be able to take a full size graphics card.
1317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for simple GPU setup to get started... on: March 31, 2013, 05:19:26 PM
You can use other CPUs, I said Core 2 Duo just to make sure the motherboard had PCI-e slot on it. They all had them C2D onward.

If you go for another CPU just make sure it has a PCI-E graphics card slot on the motherboard and not just PCI.

Make sure it's a normal ATX case, not one of those mATX uATX thin ones.
1318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Use Crossfire for AMD RADEON 7970? on: March 31, 2013, 05:11:05 PM
Dissable crossfire

I use 12.11beta, I've had nothing but problems with 13.x (I'm sure someone from Nvidia works in the AMD driver department!)
1319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is SatoshiDice illegal? on: March 31, 2013, 04:47:28 PM
US thinks offering online gambling to it's citizens is illegal,

if you do it, never fly into the US because you'll be arrested
http://www.cato.org/blog/uk-gambling-ceo-arrested-us-airport

However the World Trade Organization has said US is unfairly protecting it's domestic gambling market

Quote
the World Trade Organization authorized Antigua and Barbuda to violate intellectual property protections on American movies, books,
pharmaceuticals and other goods as compensation for United States policies that harmed the islands’ online gambling business.

1320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No OpenCL Devices on: March 31, 2013, 04:27:41 PM
Download and install the OpenCL driver from nvidia web site.

Nvidia is crap for mining on by the way, you cannot make a profit on them.
