If you are restoring a wallet with the seed, there is no need to insert a password. If you are opening a wallet file that has a password, Electrum will ask for it.

Obviously with the new merit system, the site administrators are aiming to minimize spam and/or worthless posts and increase quality posts that encourage discussion. Well as I was recently looking for a new bounty campaign to participate in, I noticed more and more of these programs have changed their requirements from the historical 10 posts/week to now 15 posts/week. Obviously this encourages low quality posts as I think it’s near impossible for someone to come up with 15 thoughtful posts per week, in particular as the bounties require all posts to be in the Altcoins section.
You can easily do 15 or more thoughtful posts per week without spamming. IMO that's not the issue. If the goal of the site is to improve post quality, there really needs to be restrictions on these bounty programs. A limit on weekly post requirements for one and perhaps also standardized minimum character requirements that are higher than the 50-70 character requirements of most bounties.
I’m positive if bounty guidelines were set so that no campaign can require more than 5 posts per week and a minimum of say 100 characters, the quality of discussion in the growing alt boards would signicantly improve.
Quality =/= Quantity. Increasing the number of characters won't do anything. Spammers will start writing even more nonsense to make their text bigger. There are better ways of solving the spam caused by ICO/altcoins bounties, such as: 1. Only allow trusted and pre-approved campaign managers - who won't tolerate spam - to manage bounties/campaigns. There are way too many managers who don't give a shit about what their users are posting and will pay them anyway. 2. Only allow pre-approved campaigns. 3. Charge a fee if you want to create a campaign in the forum.

I would change your password if you entered it there, it's purpose is to gather your username/password
I didn't. I knew if wasn't BitcoinTalk. My point was that I can't login even if I wanted to because the captcha isn't working. There must be a place the owners of this site can complain though right?
I don't think so. Maybe you can report it if the website is paying Google to be advertised at the top of the page when you search "BitcoinTalk", but you can't easily take the entire site down.

I have been trying to use Trezor 24 word seed to restore Segwit account. When I put the seed words in Electrum in lower case and change derviation to "m/49'/0'/0'" I get a completely different set of addresses. I cannot figure out how to get the seed words to restore in Electrum and get the same addresses that I had in the Trezor. If I hook up the Trezor and make a new hardware wallet the addresses are the same, but the seed words, which restore properly in a Trezor, are not giving me the same addresses in Electrum. Any help would be appreciated.
Do you have multiple Trezor wallets? If so, every account has a different derivation path. m/49'/0'/<account>' with <account> being the number of the account. (E.g: account #3 is m/49'/0'/3')

Have you read this thread[1]? I'm not sure if he would refund your coins after 5 years, but it's worth a try. Anyways, I PM'ed Boussac and linked him to this thread so he can help you. Good luck!

It's probably better if you just create a new wallet and move all your coins from your old wallet. Electrum's Segwit address will start with "bc1" (bech32 format), which is current not supported by several services/exchanges/explorers. So, for now you can create a Segwit wallet with addresses starting with a "3", since they are already supported by almost (if not all) services. Here is how you can do it: 1. Go to iancoleman's BIP39 seed generator[1] (optional - download the source code and run offline for better security); 2. Select 12 words and generate a new seed; 3. SAVE THIS SEED AND DON'T LOSE IT! You can't see it again in Electrum and without the seed you can't restore your wallet in the future; 4. Download Electrum; 5. While creating the wallet, select: Standard Wallet -> I already have a seed -> Paste the seed from step 2. 6. Click Options -> check "BIP39 seed" -> Next. 7. In the Derivation part, paste m/49'/0'/0'/0 and click next. 8. Now you have an Segwit wallet with addresses starting with 3.

As we're closing to the sale of 50 Delos sets, I have to admit that I didn't expect it that fast, especially being a newcomer and all. Thanks everyone for the support.
There were another 40 sets reserved for sale to events & meetups etc., but with not much progress on that front I think it's better to make them available here instead, so we can focus on developing our next coin.
Our dream is to make a limited-quantity, top-quality coin with a unique design, however as we learn and work towards that, I still find great value in Delos; it's great to have an affordable coin with familiar-design that can be given away to friends & strangers and bring new people to Bitcoin, so it's quite probable that we revisit the idea of Delos if there is demand. Please do feel free to share any feedback on Delos or in general, either here or PM; it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
I started reading this and thought it was over. 1 set for me please ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Is there anyway he could send me malware just by adding me on skype and me accepting and all i do is chat?
I don't think so. Just don't download anything or click in suspicious links. The thing is if im sending bank funds to his account and then supply him the btc address i want him to send it to, well then as long as he is legit, he will send the btc to me without any problems right?
If he isn't trying to scam you, yes. When they give me their btc address by copying their btc address to me in skype, is there a chance that when i copy and then paste that address in my electrum wallet, there could be a virus? Such as that btc address is actually a keylogger or trojan or malware? I had just thought about this right now as people say don't click on suspicious links or open files from ppl you dont trust etc. However, is it possible for keylogger or virus like this if you were to copy and paste the btc address given to you into electrum?
I don't think that's possible. You are just copying a text to your clipboard. I also read about the copy and paste bitcoin virus etc where when you copy a btc address and then paste it to send to that address, it would change the address to something else. Can you tell me if this is related to the example i used with skype such as someone giving you the btc address to send to?
No. That's a virus that can be obtained when you download and run an infected software. This only happens when you are infected with the virus. I assume if you are somewhat skeptical, you could just manually type out their btc address to send the btc to them like that?
That's not necessary. Just double check the address before sending any coins.

- One of your features says "Links out to chain explorer" - I'm not seeing this...
This feature is only available when you register and add an address to your account.
Btw, I guess bech32 addresses (bc1...) aren't supported?

I have problem with Exodus 1.45.0
I exported the private key but only the first BTC address would be exported the second address is not there, anyone have the same problem or maybe some explanation of why this happen.
Mine does that aswell. What you can do is import your backup seed into Electrum and export the private-keys/spend the coins from there. Here is how you can do it: https://support.exodus.io/article/159-import-your-bitcoin-wallet-into-electrum

Hey guys. Thank you so much for all your replies. I really appreciate it.
Even if I save my pass somewhere safe and keep parts of it in different places, I'll still have to type it sometimes. How do I avoid keyloggers or how do I detect them on my PC?
The first step is: don't get infected in the first place. Don't download untrusted files and use your antivirus to check for malwares from time to time. I would also recommend you to use your OS virtual keyboard to type the password.

Someone please help as obviously it has been quite some time and I've also posted similar questions about this twice in the past and haven't gotten anywhere. Do I simply need to get a lawyer and sue Electrum?
Wut? Sue them for what? Bitcoin Cash is an altcoin and has nothing to do with Bitcoin or Electrum. I had bitcoin stored in my electrum wallet during the fork back in August 2017 and still haven't been credited with the equal emount of Bitcoin Cash that users were promised from the fork. How do I go about getting my equivalent amount of Bitcoin Cash? Who do I have to email or talk to? Who can help me or will help me with this?
First use this tool[1] to see if you have any BCH in your address. If you do, you can spend them by downloading Electron Cash[2] (which is a Electrum fork for BCH) and opening your Electrum wallet with it. The interface is pretty much the same.

Try this: 1. Get your wallet seed (Settings -> Security -> Recovery Phrase); 2. Go to iancoleman's bip39 tool (download the source and run offline if you want to be safer); 3. Enter your seed in the "BIP39 Mnemonic" field; 4. You should see your addresses in the list at the bottom of the page; 4. But you want your change addresses, so change the "External / Internal" field from 0 to 1; (I saw this method somewhere in the forum but I can't find the original post)

Both are scams. There is no such thing as a transaction accelerator these days (except the ones provided by a trusted pool like pushtx.btc.com). ConfirmTX, spdybit, btcspeedy... They were all scams. And you don't need one anyways. The mempool is nearly empty, so you can send a transaction with a 2 sat/byte fee and get a confirmation in a couple of blocks.

But i want to know if i send them money and they receive it, then they send me say 0.10 btc and it shows in my electrum wallet but unconfirmed and 0 confirmations, that means its not safe?
I would wait until you get at least 1 confirmation since the sender can try to double-spend and keep the money. But are you serious about 30 confirmations? When i receive btc from a gambling site, usually when i get a few confirmations, it shows up in my wallet and it is no longer unconfirmed.
Usually 1 confirmation is enough, while some services (like BitPay) will require 6 confirmations. But I haver never seen anyone talking about 30 confirmations (even for a SPV wallet). @pooya87 Care to explain?

I have received ~1.25m BTC to test and review this mixer. I have chosen to receive 57% of my mixed coins to my address #1 after 8 hours and the remaining 43% to my address #2 after 6 hours. My first impressions: I really liked the minimalist design of the website and how everything you need to know about your order is shown in the "Order status" page. I'm still waiting for my coins (because of the delay), but it's great how I can easily check when they will are scheduled to arrive - which is great. I have tested multiple mixers and if this one had a reputation, I would probably choose them over other famous mixers like BitBlender (for simple send->receive mixings, otherwise, I still prefer ChipMixer due to the way they work with the chips). I will update this post when I receive my coins in ~7 hours. Edit: I received my coins in the designated time without any delay. Thanks! Just a quick suggestion: Use segwit. Help the network and save some fees ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
giving 0.1BTC to people in a forum to test your new service is a waste of money.
Why? what I had in mind, I would like to see you having 1BTC in escrow, and another one for mixing in your hot wallet. if you don't have that much, you could start with 0.2BTC escrowed and 0.2BTC in hot wallet.
Escrow is good but it's not 100% scam-proof. BitMixCoin had 10 BTC in escrow for some time and they lowered that amount to 5 BTC without any public warning. They could have wait until they had 10 BTC from costumers, ask the escrower to half the amount in escrow and still profit 5 BTC if they decide to scam everyone. If you choose to setup a escrow and then decide to get the coins back or lower the amount, at least warn everybody a few days in advance.

That's one of the reasons the merit system was added in the first place. I'm glad it's working ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by: - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc. - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.
