I don't think you violated any rules.

The message clearly says: "For security, your account has been locked.";

You will probably need to provide a signed message with a staked address to prove that you own that account. Just like explained in this thread[1].

13162  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Taking the BCH out without fulfilling the node on: February 16, 2018, 08:50:15 PM
I know the address that I hold bch in, but only bch, not bitcoins. How do I export the private keys from Bitcoin unlimited node?
Open your Bitcoin Unlimited wallet and do the following:

1. Help -> Debug Window -> Console.
2. If your wallet has a password write: walletpassphrase "your password" 600
3. To export your private-key, use: dumpprivkey "your BCH address"
4. Copy the result. That's your private-key.

Go to Electron Cash:

1. Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys -> Paste your private-key from step 4 -> Next.

Electron Cash[1] is a lightweight SPV wallet.

Unlike Bitcoin ABC, you don't need to download the whole blockchain before spending your coins.

13164  Other / Meta / Re: [Tutorial] How to add image to a post on: February 16, 2018, 02:14:05 AM
Anybody knows how to add youtube videos in this forum? is there any special code for it?
You can't embed a YouTube video. You can only use the url tag to redirect the users to your video.

What some users/ICO do is add a fake youtube thumbnail image with a link to the video. But the video won't play in the thread page.
13165  Other / Meta / Re: A friend of mine can't register on: February 15, 2018, 09:37:46 PM
You could create him an account. If his IP is blacklisted, he will only need to pay the fee when registering the account. If he already has one, there will be no limitations.

Having multiple accounts is not against the rules. So, him having the same registration IP as you won't be an issue.

For those who haven't seen Coinbase's answer:

Update as of 9:37 AM PST on February 15, 2018

We are actively investigating some reports from our customers about unexpected credit or debit card charges appearing on their statements from previous Coinbase purchases.

We can confirm that the unexpected charges are originating from our payment processing network, and are related to charges from previous purchases. To the best of our knowledge, these unexpected charges are not permanent and are in the process of being refunded. We are running joint investigations with all parties involved, and will provide updates as we receive them.

We apologize for the trouble, and are working as quickly as possible to help anyone affected by this.

Minor update in wording at 10:31 AM PST for better clarity.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Please let us know by commenting here if you have been affected by these charges, and provide the following info:

[debit, credit, or bank transfer], [your country], [which bank you saw the additional charge on], [number of additional charges], [delay since original transaction], [is the charge posted or pending], [your case number]

Example: debit, US, MYBANK, 1, 1 day, pending, #100001

Your reports will go a long way toward helping us track down what may be happening here and reaching a quick resolution. We will follow up via your case in order to collect additional info if needed, so please make sure to include a case number!

Once again, we apologize for the poor experience.

It seems interesting Smiley Was it a one time action, (to give the 500 additional merits to those who has reached the 775 activity these days), or it will continue? If it was a one time thing, I would really miss that 1 activity period that made me miss this chance... But that's life Smiley
It was a one time.

Can you clear to me that which sector or thread is suitable to discuss for counting as good post.
If I don't know about Bitcoin mining how can I say anyhing about this. I will participate in those discuss that I know somthing. You guys are senior in this forum, you know much about this forum but what about a new comer. How can he/she get it.?
And please I'm not asking for merit, I just want a suggestion from you.
You can start reading and maybe discussing (about Bitcoin, altcoins, etc). Just use the forum as a normal people who is not here for money would do. Understand that this place wasn't made for people to make money. This is just a bonus.

You shouldn't be here for a "job". Just don't do like the average spammer like my buddy Decimation and start spamming in the "Off-topic" section. I could go there and start posting "Yes, I love masturbating" in this kind of post: Do you masturbate?

But don't expect to receive merit for this kind of "quality post".

-snip-
Are you really quoting a post I made in 2015? 3 fuc*king years ago? Can't find a better example? Roll Eyes

And do you really believe I was in a signature campaign back in 2015? Smh.

Meanwhile you keep shitposting.
13168  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 15, 2018, 03:27:08 AM
You can sit here all day if you want and discuss with yourself whether or not I deserve merit. My point is, that I was 8 activity away from getting Full Member 2 weeks ago, then this update came out, and now I am months, maybe even years from getting Full Member. This update might be good for some users that are already high up in ranks, but for others, it is nearly impossible.
I see why you are so salty about the new merit system...

I just took a better look at your post history and you basically farmed all your activity points and tried to rank up by making shitposts in the Off Topic board. You sir don't deserve the 10 merits you received to stay at the Member rank. Enjoy struggling to rank up with your shitposts or get better.

This just means that the system is working as intended (shitposts like you will be stuck in the same rank).

Here is the type of posts you make at the off-topic board which are according to you "very helpful to a lot of newbies."

Well, recently a friend of mine took the girl I really liked. Now, I cannot stand any of them.
lol

Now I need to sleep Undecided bye
13169  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 15, 2018, 03:17:19 AM
Okay, I really hope you realize the "complaining about the merit system" posts were AFTER I originally posted on this thread. And the "trying to join a sig campaign" post was because I thought I was receiving Full Member to apply for the sig campaign which I already stated early in this conversation. Posts in the off-topic board are from your point of view not worth merit? That makes 0 sense considering the off-topic board is very helpful to a lot of newbies. And my sales threads do not count considering I am SELLING services, not providing help to anyone. So therefore your whole comment is basically pointless.
Let's check your reply again:

I've made over 20 posts since the merit update and have received exactly 0 merit from anyone. Go through my posts if you want, they are better than most peoples. Obviously here and there are some that didn't have much thought put into them. But most of them are HQ.

1. The merit system was introduced 24 January.
2. You said you have made 20 posts since the "merit update".

Since the merit system addition, you only made 12 posts (which 5 of them are from your Netflix account selling thread). This means that without your sale thread that "does not count considering that you are selling services", you only have made 5 posts + 3 complaining about the merit system. So therefore your whole comment about having received 0 merit for your "20 HQ posts" is basically pointless.

Again, where do you deserve any merit?

From your last 20 posts:

2 in this thread.
1 complaining about the merit system.
3 in the "Off-topic" board.
9 in your "Selling Lifetime Netflix" thread. (lifetime... rly?)
2 selling LOL rp cards.
1 trying to join a signature campaign.

And 2 in a "Bitcoin Discussion" mega-spam thread.

Do you really think those posts deserve any merit?
13171  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 15, 2018, 02:29:38 AM
So how can I gain 90 merit just to rank up to Full Member..? That means I need 90 unique people to randomly select me out of the thousands of posts they see a day just to rank up? I was under the impression that activity was the only thing that determined rank, which I was thankful for since I could rank up by Feb. 14. Turns out that after going to 126 activity, I get a private message from a user explaining to me that I cannot receive Full Member rank without 100 damn merit. Are you serious? And this was introduced 11 days ago. My fucking luck.
Users can choose to give you more than 1 merit per post. E.g: I have seen posts receiving 5 merits per user.

I get that it is to reduce spam and increase the quality of posts, but holy shit how am I going to get 90 people to give me merit when there are literally thousands of people posting every single day? Doesn't matter if I post extremely high quality posts or not.
It does. Do you see this user? He was just a Member when theymos introduced the merit system (he started with 10 merit), and now he already has 373 merits. You can try to do the same Cheesy

EDIT: Also why is the merit jump so dramatic from Member to Full Member? 60 activity and 10 merit is required for Member rank, but 120 activity and 100 merit is required for Full Member? Activity is increased by 2x, but the merit is increased by 10x? That makes 0 sense.
It takes 120 days to become a Full Member. Are you saying that you are not capable of making 100 high quality posts (or even less if you receive 2~5 merits in some posts) in 4 months? The system was designed to separate spammers from good users. it was not meant to be easy.

what is the meaning of merit guys Huh.. i'm a newbie here. Thanks
Wtf? You're in a thread called "Merit & new rank requirements" and you come here asking "what is merit"? Everything is explained above. Can you even read?

Keep up with that shit and you will never get any merit/rank up.
13172  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 15, 2018, 02:18:10 AM
Is this a bug ? This user has more than enough merits and activity to be a legendary member but his current rank is still hero member.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=558519

That user I linked above was just one of them I think there's more of them who have 1000 merits and 770+ activity who aren't legendary.
Required activity:

Legendary: random in the range 775-1030

This user has only 868 activity. He can become a Legendary in the next period or maybe only at the 1022 activity mark. He got 1000 merits by default because theymos thought it was not fair to only give 500 merits to Hero Members who were in the 775-1030 range and could become Legendary at any time.
13173  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Accidentally sent BTC to BCH address on: February 14, 2018, 04:26:44 PM
You sent BTC using shapeshift, so does that mean even if you didn't send BTC "with" trezor, you can use this technique?
The page https://trezor.io/recover-coins/ show only litecoin, BTC, BCH, so that doesn't apply for other altcoins?

In most of the altcoins, you can't make this kind of mistake. You can't send Ripple to a Ethereum address for example.

The most common case is where a user sent LTC to a BTC address or vice versa. And you can only use the tool if you own the address the coins are stuck. E.g: you withdrawal 10 LTC from your local exchange and sent them to your BTC address by mistake.
13174  Other / Meta / Re: New bitcointalk.org on: February 14, 2018, 02:31:28 AM
I don't mean to make a new forum (on another domain), but just new software, skin, etc, since bitcointalk.org kinda looks like the 90's.
It would also be an opportunity to write software (add-ons) that would be specifically userfull for a crypto forum.

It's like a politician, that served his term, and a new one is elected...
A new forum software with a better design and new features is already being developed.

I've checked my wallet on the exchange and all my XRBs are there.
Is that means my wallet is not hacked and i got a chance to withdraw later?
Those are just numbers in a database. IIRC, Raiblocks has less than 4m XRB/Nano in their wallet and they owe their users ~17m. I heard some people saying that MAYBE everyone should receive 20% to 25% of the owned coins back. But it's only a possibility and the risk of not getting anything is high.
13176  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Send from a specific address from ledger nano s. on: February 13, 2018, 05:07:07 PM
I can't confirm if that's possible since I don't have a Nano S, but can you go to the Addresses tab (View -> Addresses), and see if you can see all your addresses? Then, try to right click and select "Spend from"; If this works, Electrum will put the inputs from the address in the "From" field on the Send tab.
13177  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Noobz question about Electrum ZCL wallet & another about standard BTC Wallet on: February 13, 2018, 07:41:50 AM
Hi Try Ninja

Thanks for your replies! Very helpful.
What compatible wallet would you recommend for BTCP?
You will probably need to wait for the fork to happens (February 28th). Then, the BTCP team should link a working wallet in their official website[1]. For now, just keep your ZCL/BTC in a safe wallet since you will get 1 BTCP for every BTC/ZCL you have.

13178  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Noobz question about Electrum ZCL wallet & another about standard BTC Wallet on: February 12, 2018, 11:55:20 PM
1. Will I be able to receive BTCP coins, if storing ZCL in this wallet? I'm using the wallet in standard mode (not Ledger S Nano, or Multi-Sig mode)
Yes.

2. Will I be able to receive BTCP coins, using the Electrum BTC wallet?
You won't be able to see or send the BTCP, but can be stored in the address. To spend them you will need to import the address private-key in a compatible wallet.

Bitcointalk is just older but its loosing users
Hmm... After a quick look at the forum stats, I can say that this is incorrect. 63756 new members and 77877533 page views in December 2017 sounds pretty "active" for me.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats
https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitcointalk.org

becasue Theymos bans and censors alot.
Can you provide some sources to corroborate with this statement?

wow! BitcoinTalk forum is still stuck at SMF 1.1.9 where 30 more versions have been released? Did theymos eat all the money? No update or work within those years?
Isn't the new forum software being developed?

Also, about the outdated SMF version:
Theymos has modded this forum considerably.  That's why it's such an old version of SMF - he can't upgrade it anymore.
13180  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Alternatives to Blockchain.info? on: February 12, 2018, 06:30:32 AM
Electrum is a good choice as it has segwit wallet too and I've seen people here in the forum does have that "bc" address and it came from electrum if I'm correct. But for now, I'll remain with blockchain.info as I like the adjustment with the fees which is really convenient to me.
This doesn't make sense. You can also adjust your fees in Electrum, but if you choose a Segwit address, you will pay 50% less in fees. I really don't see any advantage on using Blockchain's wallet. You can even choose a wallet with addresses starting with a "3" rather than the "bc1" format for better compatibility.
