1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: October 27, 2013, 08:38:27 PM
And the final nail, I won't send it yet, just teaching myself the process - if I want to now send MSC to a paper wallet address from Blockchain wallet one of those 3 addresses is the paper wallet address, the other 2 addresses are Advisor generated (Exodus and Data Address). Correct?

(curious, how did the 0.00006 come about?)

That's correct, you would send to these 3 addresses:
1. Exodus address
2. Recipient address (your paperwallet address)
3. Data address

The amount does not necessarily have to be 0.00006, it just has to be above the "dust" threshold.
Note that the method described above is a "Class A" transaction, there are also 2 other types of transactions – if you want to dive into this, have a read here:
https://masterchest.info/files/mscappendix_draft.pdf

Btw: this thread actually is for Mastercoin trades (posting of bids and asks etc). It might be better to post technical questions on the other Mastercoin threads.

Ofcourse. Thanks!

1. Is this extra 0.0005 there fine?
You can have any Bitcoin balance on your Mastercoin address, that's no problem.

2. How do I get the private key for this address from the BlockChain.info?
Just hit the "Import/Export" tab.

3. Most importantly: If I move the total of 0.00056 to some other address does that mean I moved the whole 1 MSC?? (email support man told me I move them via MasterCoin Advisor, but i'm still not sure what this 0.00056 in my Bchain address is).
Moving the 0.00056 BTC does not move your Mastercoins. You would have to create a well defined transaction to move your Mastercoins, that won't happen unintentionally.
So you can spend your 0.00056 BTC and still have your Mastercoin balance.

Ok got it (the blockchain part). One final thing I don't understand yet. Now I have a Mastercoin Explorer address which is public. What is my private part (haha, ok, private key?) in it? Because right now i'm thinking in terms of how bitcoin work (blockchain.info, wallets, and keys). But MasterCoin is on "top" of Bitcoin, you say. So even if i spend BTCs in this address the Mastercoins are still there. (huh?, i hope you see my confusion, but ok...i take this even if I don't get it)

I opened Mastercoin Advisor in command prompt, to see how this works (what i'm being asked for). Enter the address you wish to send to: random "sending to" address. Then, now i really don't understand this next part: Step 1, Step 2. Data address? And also, how does Advisor know how to connect to my MSC address, just via a "public address"? Where is the "private key" i have to put in to make this MSC just mine? In my mind, right now I only have an MSC address which is public (in the MasterCoin Explorer).

In order to send your Mastercoins to another address you would have to send 0.00006 BTC to each of the 3 addresses (generated by MastercoinAdvisor) from your MSC address. MastercoinAdvisor does not need to know the private key to your MSC address. It just tells you the 3 addresses, you still have to send to them from your MSC address manually.

If you want to do this, here's a little how-to for a blockchain.info wallet:

I see. Very helpful picture (Sending MSC for Dummies...)

I'm still not sure everything is fine or not...

Yesterday I bought 1 MSC via BuyMastercoin.com

I sent 0.19BTC to the BuyMastercoin given address from my BlockChain.info wallet. (Let me first say that I already had 0.0005 BTC in this wallet prior to sending extra 0.19BTC from my BitStamp for the reason of buying MSC)

Ok, so I did the transfer and now I have 0.00056 BTC in my Blockchain wallet address. (0.00006 back from BuyMastercoin and 0.0005 from before).

Also, 1 MSC is showing fine in the MasterCoin Explorer on that BTC address.

Now I have 3 questions:

1. Is this extra 0.0005 there fine?
2. How do I get the private key for this address from the BlockChain.info?
3. Most importantly: If I move the total of 0.00056 to some other address does that mean I moved the whole 1 MSC?? (email support man told me I move them via MasterCoin Advisor, but i'm still not sure what this 0.00056 in my Bchain address is).

Geez, thanks Smiley

Wow, pretty awesome find.

So many lost coin stories though. Smells to me the number is millions lost, not just 100.000.

Which brings me to another point, isn't it a shame that the inactive coins are going to have an effect on the worth of bitcoins (or am i wrong and the market will found out that the coins are missing and adjust automatically?). I wish there was a way to "deactivate" them and make the rest worth more.

1327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any plans for an anonymous digital currency? Unlike bitcoin, litecoin. on: October 24, 2013, 07:36:17 PM
eMunie is truely anonymous, without the large overhead of Zerocoin.

Transactions, messages and any other data sent within the network are encrypted, transaction in the tree are stored encrypted, there is no way for any 3rd party to determine who has what, or who sent what to whom.

Plenty of info on our forums, and we are still running beta's if you would like to have a play around before launch.

I will research some other day but can you tell in short what is the exchange rate at this moment for EMUs: USD/EMU, BTC/EMU...

Can't "Get Started", because none of the links on the main page are working...

Site is being overhauled as we speak....hit the forum instead forum.emunie.com

Its not launched yet, we are in final stages of beta testing (which you are welcome to join) & development...tentative launch date for this side of xmas.

There's a lot to see at the forums and it's not an easy topic for casual users like me, but I gathered that you have something with a good buzz. Also, that you can get that EMUs with hatching? (which is not an option for me because i don't have the top hardware), so i'm watching on how to buy, where to buy and how much. So I guess i'll check the homepage when it's up.

His idea is that the wealth amassed in the bitcoin will be taken out of the hands of investors meaning that this energy (time, labour) will be crashed/transferred/stolen...but first they will do nothing to stop this and it will be propped up...

He's a big silver proponent, so I don't know how biased he is, but he makes some good points.

What does the over 1M$ in sales mean for investors? The price of shares reacted after this announcement but now it's leveling. I would think this would have a bigger impact, but i guess this 1M$ isn't worth much?

You really think it took me 30 minutes to read you posts and type those replies? Roll Eyes
You are beyond dumb and helpless.
You know what they say: There's none so blind as those who will not see.

 Roll Eyes You win.

Why did you even take 5 minutes. Sayonara...
1334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 27 confirmations and counting... on: October 08, 2013, 06:13:39 PM
It may seem like posters are being condescending, but they are trying to help. Your transaction will eventually have thousands of confirmations. After 1 confirmation your transaction is in the blockchain. Because it is theoretically possible to create a second chain and stop the payment, you may want to wait for more confirmations. By 6, it is so deep in the chain that it is a done deal. Even a string of super computers could not forge a fork of the chain.
For a small transaction (>$200) I use one or two confirmations. If I were selling a gold bar I would want at least six. Basically I do a risk / value assessment.

Thanks.

i've been reading about bitcoin for half a year

Bullshit!

Omg, lol. Sure, try me? Ask me questions. But let me give you some keywords to help you.

BTC-e, Bitstamp, Gox.

Roger Ver

Let's talk bitcoin, Ed and Ethan show.

Securities, ActiveMining, scam Labcoin.

Shall i go on? Asshole...

And yet you didn't read what really matters so you can understand what you've been using for half a year.
This is Bitcoin, I'll believe you when I see 6 confirmations.
EDIT: Yes, I'm an asshole. But dicks like you have no chance on fucking me.

You've spent half an hour with me. Thanks for the foreplay.

Knowing about the BTC universe isn't enough.
You must learn BTC itself.

Read my last reply. Also I never said i KNEW bitcoin, like i said i'm your sister 2.0. I just posted those things to the asshole before you that accused me of lying.

I use 2FA, i made paper wallets, i don't send full amounts right of the bat. I think i'm in a relatively safe position to use bitcoin. I read about it daily. I know more thank you think, YET, I dread the techical discussion because I don't understand it, which I also admitted. But from what i know, I trust it enough to use it. For instance when I took a look at that blockchain info link i didn't see that it was emptied, which is also a problem ofcourse, but it's not the biggest issue. But i'm ending this discussion with you.

I can play your stupid game if you want to. I guess I can know all these things in 2 minutes after you accusing me of lying. And btw even after your first reply I could smell that you're trying to be an asshole.

OP, why should we help someone who isn't willing to help him/herself? You don't want to learn, you want to be spoon-fed.

Ignore me, that would be the best advice for you.

I admitted i dread when i see a link with technical discussion because it tells me almost nothing. Also, i googled for half an hour before posting here but yes, i want to be spoon fed the layman answer because i didn't get it.

Anyways, i fully agree that it's not typical user friendly yet and this is the proof. I use 2FA, i made paper wallets, i've been reading about bitcoin for half a year but my weak point is when it's starts getting into the level i mentioned 10 times.
