Looks like the bitcoin difficulty graph  Cheesy

Yes, and anyone who says the difficulty is flat is just as uninformed as anyone who says temperature is not increasing.

You can use SMARTctl or HDtune, or something from your HD manufacturer.

Can't you guys just read the IPCC report?

I've never actually found one, I should go searching one of these days.
1345  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem with blockchain.info - what should I do? on: August 02, 2013, 10:02:47 PM
The only thing that's backed up is your private keys.  The blockchain holds all the transaction history.
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Hacked on: August 02, 2013, 10:01:42 PM
It looks like it's AES encrypted -- I bet your password was already in a table somewhere.

How does the wallet backup work?  Is it encrypted with that 8 letter 2 number password?  What hash does it use?  Post the hash of your password and I bet someone finds it in a lookup table.

PS If you know where to download these premade private key hash lookup tables send me a PM -- I'm curious to look at one.

Did you want to buy a block eruptor?

I posted the data in post #4.  It's from the IPCC.  Please look at the whole range since the industrial revolution.  You wouldn't make a post saying the overall bitcoin price trend was down based on april 3 - april 10 would you?

Is there a withdrawal history page?  Can you post a screenshot?

I often want to say terahertz, and I think it's perfectly fine.  Terahash is fine for slang.  Something like tera-HiPS would be similar to teraFLOPS.

Create a new blockchain.info account and restore it from your wallet backup.  Next time write down the authenticator's secret key.
1355  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin-QT 0.83 blockchain download / wallet management on: August 02, 2013, 07:01:13 AM

Okay, so each bitcoin address is like an independent "sub-wallet" that is all collected together by a single wallet.dat file then, even though the wallet client will display the wallet grand total as the sum of all the addresses.

Yes, it's like using Quicken and giving it access to all your bank accounts, brokerage, etc and it displays your total net worth.
1356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin-QT 0.83 blockchain download / wallet management on: August 02, 2013, 06:51:51 AM
Everything is in the blockchain, so you need to have a fully downloaded blockchain to see how much each address holds.
Addresses are never checked to see "if they are in use".  If you find someone else's address -- congrats, you can take all their money.
Change addresses (all receiving addresses) are generated by your wallet client.  There's no other way to do it.
Don't think of the addresses as pointing to the same wallet.  All the addresses are independent.  The wallet is just a list of addresses & their associated private keys, nothing more.

I had problems with the shortcut in my startup directory not keeping the --datadir argument.  When I'd restart my computer it would start downloading to my appdata folder instead of using my specified datadir.  I deleted the shortcut from my startup directory and just run it manually now and it's fine.

One trojan isn't pretty clean.

Just look at the chart.  As long as you can read numbers it should be clear.

What's the point of escrow then -- it just seems like it's adding unnecessary fees.
