Or, at the very least, a BTC deposit that you can withdraw after 6 months of not being an ass.
1342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crash to $2 imminent. Willing to bet. on: September 12, 2011, 06:21:35 PM
I bet on $100 that bitcoin will crash to $2. I am certain because everytime it crashed, it first went up 1-1.5 dollars. Today happened the same, from 4.7 to 6 or more.

I take that bet provided you put  reasonable  limits to it, say that it has been under $2 for more than 1 day @ next Friday, 12:00 UTC.

This is great - looks like, so far, none of the trolls will put their money where their mouth is. How surprising!

I installed without uninstalling anything else. Runs fine, still has 100% CPU usage. Maybe a clean sweep is necessary...

1344  Other / Off-topic / Re: I hate that famous Gandhi quote on: September 09, 2011, 02:53:11 PM
Couldn't agree more.

Also, it astounds me that people will use Ghandi's non-violent protest as an argument against any other kind of protest.

How many people starved to death in China under Mao?

1346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So who's buying bargain Bitcoins this morning? on: September 09, 2011, 01:54:46 PM
down to $5.00 folks! will it hit $4.50 today?

Probably. But what is much worse is that it will hit $3 this month too.

Cool! What day will it hit 3$ on?
1347  Other / Meta / Re: Ignore users on: September 09, 2011, 02:22:49 AM
Thank you a million times over.

Bbxx, The Electric Monk, and jwzguy have never reported a post, so they have no right to complain about moderation.

You asked for it, sir.
1349  Other / Meta / Re: Please stop trolling on: September 08, 2011, 10:27:54 PM
Free speech refers to the amendment stating that the government won't make laws restricting speech.

It has NOTHING to do with what and who is allowed on a message board.

This board could use some serious cleaning, IMO.

Free speech is a concept that exists outside of the US constitution + amendments.  But this board does need cleaning.

The concept exists, and doesn't apply here. It applies to laws being created. Message board moderation is not an infringement of free speech, and we seriously need more of it.

1351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the Manipulator is back in the market. Buy-hold-SELL SELL SELL on: September 08, 2011, 12:20:53 PM

What you suggest is already being accomplished indirectly through arbitrage. We just need more overall volume to keep the market prices stable. That will come when there is a higher demand for actually using BTC.

Why do you think a market price for something that is inherently deflationary will EVER become stable?

Because I don't buy into disproven Keynesian nonsense...which is why I'm here. Why are YOU here? (That's rhetorical, it's obvious.)
1352  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the Manipulator is back in the market. Buy-hold-SELL SELL SELL on: September 08, 2011, 10:01:53 AM
What other market can you think of that 100K can whip saw it all over the place?

I guess the term "manipulator" was just more fun to throw around as a label for people with more money then me trading in bitcoins.
When a single person can drop the price by 10% in seconds.. i would say they have the ability to manipulate the market for bitcoins
a lot more then any other market i can come up with right now.

But i do understand your point and concede.

Maybe if all the exchanges got together and pooled all of their bid and ask prices, then medium/large-ish transactions wouldn't affect the overall price so much. It's because they are all so fragmented and diffuse, each with relatively small volume individually, that the price can be affected so easily. 100k on a single bitcoin exchange might as well be trillions on any other market.

Most other markets are bigger, so require larger volumes to affect price but they also have bigger players (banks, hedge funds, pension funds, governments) who can affect their particular markets to the same degree. But I desist, I'm being pedantic. I know what you meant.

It seems to be an inescapable fact of life that people will use and abuse economic hegemony time and time again for their own individual gain. It appalls me that this is the way our global economic system works.

1354  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have been warning you tards long enough. When will you learn? on: September 07, 2011, 01:51:23 AM
The tard is you. If you're right, you're wasting your time. If you're wrong, you're wasting your time.

Since this is obvious - the only reason to post your nonsense is to troll.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Maria-

Can you provide any block explorer links for your large transactions mentioned above? I couldn't find them myself. This should clear all doubts regarding your intentions, only then will people have open minds for your advice.

She can't because they don't exist.

Tradehill hasn't even done 25k worth of volume in the entire week since her post. And a big chunk of that was sells as the price has gone down in the last 24 hours. So we know for 100% certain that even if she represented 100% of tradehill's volume (reality is probably 0%) that she is still lying.

Similarly for MtGox, volume showed abnormally low volumes since her post, the highest amount of volume has been sells in the last 24 hours.

If she's claiming 80k of the volume last week (horseshit) she would have lost thousands, not made thousands.

There's no scenario under which this troll/scammer could be telling the truth. Be wary of any "business offers" they make.

Dude, do you have an agenda against me or something? Nothing better else to do? Are you mad because I am giving out FREE Bitcoins for those who can formulate smart questions and you havent got any? Grow up!

I notice you didn't contest one thing that I said. (Not that you could, since they are easily verifiable facts.)

My guess is that you're giving out bitcoins to give the false impression that your next scam is legitimate. The only smart question is "why would anyone trust you?" after the nonsense you've said. Your own posts contradict your "expertise."

The trading books show that you're lying.

Good luck with your scam!

I guess I should thank you. Thank You!

I get it! It's opposite day!

So "I am going to buy 110k BTC" means "I'm not going to buy anything!" as is evidenced by a decidedly below average volume since your post, and then a large SELL yesterday.

"I have no idea how this order will affect the market" means "I know exactly how this will affect the market."

"Thank you!" must mean "F off" and I'm guessing "I want to teach you how to make money" means "I want to make money off of anyone dumb enough to believe me at this point!"

In honor of opposite day, you're welcome!
1358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $7 Mtgox on: September 06, 2011, 04:09:51 PM
Hard to take the OP seriously when his first post amounts to "maybe you should just give me your BTC instead of panic selling."
 Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
This is a novel concept: panic begging.

Here's a great question: How come you ignored the question about lying about a bitcoin purchase in order to try and manipulate the bitcoin market?

Here's another: Why should anyone believe anything you have to say after such a transparent attempt to be disruptive?

You're claiming to be an expert on making money trading when in your last thread you said you didn't know how a large buy order would affect the market? You're quite a comedian, Maria!
