1341  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPO] SatoshiWins - BITCOIN DICE, BLACKJACK, POKER, ROULETTE, CHAT, DIVIDENDS on: July 19, 2013, 11:27:14 AM
erik voorhees is in us

He tried playing the "We're not gambling with money, we're gambling with tokens" card. That obviously doesn't work anymore, now that the US government is cracking down on unregistered BTC "businesses". Which is exactly why Erik panicly sold his "business" to his long lost invisible twin brother Eri Kvoorhees. Nice gamble, but I don't think it'll protect him from being thrown into Buttfuck Hotel. If I were him, I'd be on a plane to Idontcare, Justnotinthestates right this minute.

What country are you based in? (Is what you are doing legal?)
usa

Be glad you're 13 otherwise you'd be looking at a lot of fun time in jail for building an online casino as an American.

Disclaimer: Fun Time may not be fun at all. It may also involve hurty things and bleeding.
1343  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Are there other uses for BFL ASIC miners other than mining? on: July 19, 2013, 11:06:19 AM
You can attach some ropes to them and use them as Bolas when civilization collapses.

1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SatoshiDice Sold for $12.4 Million on: July 19, 2013, 09:04:58 AM
The other thread about this says it sold for 11.5m. Huh

It depends on what bitcoin is currently worth, no? So it's 12 million now, 18 million in an hour or so and 5 USD 50 cents in 4 weeks.
1346  Economy / Services / Re: Hawt Gurl going live on tonight at Cam4btc.com on: July 19, 2013, 09:02:14 AM
What's a gurl?
a girl!

Also I'm not sure what HAWT is?
= hot

Oh, dyslexia, poor thing.

 (military ≠ hot)

This is quite obviously a lie.

Just look at this sexy beast, the McDonnell Douglas F15-E Strike Eagle.

1347  Economy / Services / Re: Hawt Gurl going live on tonight at Cam4btc.com on: July 19, 2013, 08:35:59 AM
What's a gurl? Is it like a URL but Grander? More Generalized?

Also I'm not sure what HAWT is? Is there a protocol description somewhere? It sounds kinda military.

Next step: Get better Chinese to write your product reviews.

This is a free protip: Get Indians. They're more creative and don't go the old bored "great product, as advertised" route so often.
1353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin address blacklist Database on: July 18, 2013, 07:43:20 PM
I think this is backwards.

I would rather there be a white list of trusted addresses. Kind of how Satoshi Dice worked.

Every person who sends a payment could go to a site and post a signed message and give feedback/rating just like on Ebay.

Have a question about the address you're sending payment to? Look it up.

Selling on a forum and need to switch? Well now you can take that karma with you when you move.

So I offer a service to paint your adress white by spamming it with dust. Now what?
1354  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Startup: 100% ready to launch, looking for You! on: July 18, 2013, 07:02:10 PM
Pretty sure it's the crowdfunding thing he can't stop talking about.

You know, cause those work so well in this community.

I believe the successfully funded projects on other bitcoin-enabled kickstarter-style sites is a grand old big honking 0.
1355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do I really need a Bitcoin wallet? on: July 18, 2013, 06:55:31 PM
You don't NEED a wallet, you can just store your coins in mine.
1356  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: July 18, 2013, 06:32:52 PM
So I can't help but notice that there is no "news" or announcement at BitFunder about this.  Does anyone with knowledge of pass-throughs know what we as shareholders through such services have to do in this case?  Do we have to sell our shares (for less than the buyout value based on their spread), or can we just sit tight, and wait until our assets magically just disappear and our account balance goes up?

You can wait. The pass-throughs will automatically get bitcoins for all the shares they hold and will forward them to you and remove your shares.

how long is it until this happens?

Please note that due to my vacation in Spain, the payout and buy back of the S.DICE shares will not happen until the 28th.
I am sorry for this but I do not have my gpg key and such on my laptop they are on a dedicated computer of which I currently do not have access to.
Best Regards
DeaDTerra

So what happens when DeaDTerras plane is dead set on screwing itself into Terra Firma?
1357  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: July 18, 2013, 06:30:02 PM
...
As per the S.DICE agreement, asset owners do not have voting rights to effect operational changes, nor any rights to negotiate nor block a full buyout of the company.  Nevertheless, SatoshiDice has kept the interests of the asset holders in mind throughout this negotiation process, and has intended to treat these holders fairly, above and beyond contractual obligations.
...

Erik is an ethical business man and was very professional in his operation of SatoshiDice. Let this be an example to anyone who believes that we need regulations and the coercive power of the state in order to have commerce.

Erik, nice job this is really cool and I think that the SatoshiDICE experiment is one for the history books.

You're a funny guy.
1358  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: activity penalty for necroposts on: July 18, 2013, 06:21:12 PM
You might not have gotten the memo, but the ability to send PMs is linked to penis size activity.

Really? Ok, that's kinda absurd.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=253190.msg2702160#msg2702160

laffo, ok, so he made spamming more difficult by requiring people to spam more. That'll work out great.
1359  Other / Meta / Re: Can we delete our accounts? on: July 18, 2013, 06:18:46 PM
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
1360  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: activity penalty for necroposts on: July 18, 2013, 03:27:42 PM
I see a lot of 2011 and 2012 threads getting new posts, usually by relatively new users making lots of short (one or two line) posts.

Giving a permanent -10 penalty to activity rating would make this activity useless for people hoping to boost their activity for PM or trust purposes, but not be overly punitive for people that really think that an old thread deserves a new read.

Also, I mentioned it in a different thread, but figure it is worth repeating here.  Ignores earned should deduct from activity, either actual activity or effective activity used for spamming.

You're assigning some arbitrary value to that number on the left there again. Like people did with the postcount. Which was the reason why postcount got removed in the first place.

Here is a Public Service Announcement: Penis size is unrelated to either activity or postcount size. No one cares about activity or postcount size. If you DO care aout activity or postcount size nonetheless, please stay calm, sit down in a quiet place and wait for help to arrive. A unit of helper monkey will be dispatched as soon as possible.

You might not have gotten the memo, but the ability to send PMs is linked to penis size activity.

Really? Ok, that's kinda absurd.
