I frankly don't know. Jim is the developer of Multibit. He must know.

I'm still interested on why this happened. This transaction is old, and when I first checked it on blockchain.info, it showed the correct date then.

This is all related to how change works: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/ChangeBasically, if you received BTC0.50, and then you try to send BTC0.20, you are actually sending the whole: - BTC0.20 to whoever you are sending
- BTC0.30 to yourself as change
Since this is a transaction and it needs to be confirmed (approx. 10 minutes), then you need to wait to be able to spend your money again.

are multibitwallets inter changeable AHHHH So If I decide to save my wallet the key is inside my wallet and when I am on a new computer and I have multibit wallet saved from weeks ago. I open this wallet on the bew computer and it will have ALL my trasactions up untill today not the day I saved it . It will take up to 15 minutes to retrieve the latest transactions, but besides that, yes, they are interchangeable.

Hello,
I just bought a extra 2 Bitcoins, do i need to import/export my private key again ore can i let the private key in my usb stick?
All of my coins are in 1 address.
Thx Raymond
If you have your keys stored in your USB stick, then you can just insert it and ask Multibit to open it.

[...] doesnt this wallet only give you up to the day you saved it?
No. The wallet stores your private keys. As I said, if you generate 1000 keys and then you make a backup then you don't have to worry until you decide to create more keys. All your bitcoins are stored in the blockchain, so you won't lose them if you have a backup from today and then you receive bitcoins tomorrow (in one the addresses you already have).

So then whats a paper wallet And what is a private key? A paper wallet stores your public and private key, but it's and advanced feature, and very easy to mess up with. If you plan to use paper wallets you should consider using a program other than Multibit. Multibit is meant to be simple and straightforward.

yes multibit.wallet
Correct OkOk
Now here is the scenario Ill repeat it in this forum since all you guys a re multibit guys
Scenario1 = I have saved my wallet dat on the 23rd of nov EG; on the 13th/jan 2014 My hard drive dies ANd MIraculously the the USB dies in a blaze of fire.
How do I retreive my wallet?
If both your hard drive and your USB die, then you can't retrieve your wallet. It's your responsiblity to keep a backup, at least until Multibit HD is released (which then you will only need to remember 12 words and you will be able to recover it).

But wha is this DATE thing i keep hearing about I never got the chance to put a date in?
This date is the one of the first transaction in your addresses. What you've seen in other posts is that if Multibit is behaving weird, then you should reset the blockchain (it's an option in the menus, I don't remember exactly where). It will ask you for the date, and then you enter 1 or 2 days before your first transaction.

Get it.? Yes yes I can backup wallet.dat [...]
First of all, Multibit doesn't use wallet.dat. It uses a different format called multibit.wallet. To do a backup, you copy this file and save it where you most like (preferably an offline device). You don't need to import/export keys, as that's a more advanced function. Also, in Multibit, you only need a new backup when you generate a new address. I suggest you generate many (100 or more, depending on how frequently you receive money), and then do a backup of that. That way you won't have to worry to make more backups (at least for a long time).

There's no such thing as “moving bitcoins”. You have some private keys. If you import them in a new wallet, that means it will have access to those bitcoins (but they never actually moved).

As far as I know, BitPlastic is a scam. Here in the forums I haven't read any single good review of them. You could try at your own risk.

My understanding was that, as this original wallet was able to at first create this address based on my private key, it should be possible to tell MultiBit to create a new one with this SAME address and not a random one, thus providing access to the lost coins.
Since currently keys are generated randomly, the only way to generate the same address would be to have it stored somewhere. It gets saved on multibit.wallet, but if it was saved somewhere else, it would be dangerous because the key could be stolen without the user even knowing it was stored there in the first place. HD wallets fix this as they are not random (they have a random seed, but it's the same seed for all new addresses). Nevermind, I'll try to forget those 0.4 DGC...
I thought this was Bitcoin, not Dogecoin :O

Im still waiting for Devs to contact me
You may as well wait for years, if you don't say what benefits would this new coin offer. People here are tired that every week someone creates new altcoins that will most probably die the week after.

I just don't see how this site can be useful. People don't browse the web and say “I know, I will visit a site made of a bunch of ads”. Ads are usually found on other sites, preferably with content related to the article being read, etc.
On the other hand, I think the price is too expensive. 0.1 BTC for a 10×10 square that nobody can see? And I bet it's worse in those Retina displays.

did you try the repair wallet command ?
I don't think that option is available in Multibit. I've never seen it.
