141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why every coin dumping now? I am losing huge money on: January 16, 2018, 10:50:32 PM
Bitcoin just had a fast dip below $10000 and reversal to over $11000  in a big hourly candle. This should be the bottom
most likely.

Yeah my graph showed a nice little bounce back
Hopefully she can start to claw a bit back
Ending the day only 15% red would be nice

FINALLY a spike up in my 24 hr graph

China and Korea have announced a total ban on crypto. Chinese wants to stop miners by cutting off electricity and ban exchanges in order to stop the laundering. This news scares people off and the weak hands sell as fast as they can. This causes the price fall and some people think the bubble is bursting. You should now buy and hold, the price will increase again.

It’s recovered every other time it’s happened.
People spreading fud on here also doesn’t help, causing newer members to run screaming and sell

Just hold! You are not losing anything until you cash out less then you initially invested.

As long as electricity is covered, it’s still all good
Long way to go before that fails

china has decided to ban the crypto trading thats why almost everything is in red.. i don't know how many times china will crash the crypto market.. almost 300 billion$ is out from the market.. we have witnessed the great dip of july 2017 and then market recovered soon and i think history will repeat itself again..

This time Chinese authorities has given the reason for banning bitcoin mining is due to the high consumption of electricity as well as fraudulent activities like money laundering but there are alternatives like renewable energy which can be used to mine the bitcoin and other crypto currency and as far as money laundering is concerned it can be carried out by any mean.

They could have come up with a better reason than that!

Guys, what are you mining right now with your nvidia or amd rigs?

Since this big drop of every single coin, I'm not sure if I should move my nvidia and amd rigs to nicehash or keep them on low diff coins or long term eth or zec.

Every opinion is appreciated Smiley

NVIDIA.... Neoscrypt?

1080ti - NIST5 is still holding up?

In bleak times like this.... in my experience ... just put everything on NH, focus on accumulating BTC and HODL.

Sounds like a good plan
Auto converting to btc has seen me getting more btc than before the slip Smiley

They keep trying to kill it, haven’t been successful so far

Anybody had any luck sourcing the old 2400w server PSU recently?
Or any reliable sellers of the 1200w platinums?
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Suggestion for Best Mining Pool for Alt Coins? on: January 15, 2018, 07:39:50 AM
If you're still learning, nicehash is a good place to park while you research.
When you're experimenting, miningpoolhub is also good.
Auto convert, or let's you keep the coins you mine.
You can also do manual payouts.

This guy seems to be so happy mining around 42$ a day with 6 1080Ti cards using Nicehash... However the temps are like 80ºC on average  Shocked and I'm building a system with 5 Vega64 cards using WinMiner, mining less money than that but the temps are like 45ºC and power consumption around 135-140W per Vega card,  Smiley and his powerconsumption is about 1800W (can you believe that?).  Shocked I want my next GPU to be a nVidia one for mining but I wonder if that's normal for the 1080Ti or this guy is doing something wrong.  Huh

Using nicehash probably isnt a great start

6 1080ti should be pulling 50-60$ a day @ 80% power.  $42 sounds low and temps of 80C too high

If he's mining in AUS with 100% TDP it's expected to be that hot. But yes the income is way too low.

Mining in autralia ?  Wasnt it around 47c outside in some parts recently....only the crazy or the air conditioned keep mining !

It's about 34c stable where I am.
No aircon and 75% TDP sees me running at 60-70 degrees.

Just got my 1080ti - asus rog strix

One interesting thing... on EWBF I'm getting 770 sol/s (testing things out... 120% power limit and all that, not long term) but DSTM is hanging around 600 sol/s and not really pushing the card as it stays at 65 or less. Aren't they both running the same algorithm? Why such a difference?

Also what is the highest safe fan speed %? To figure out how to keep temps under 70C either through fan speed or power limit.

For anyone else who's a noob like me - resetting benchmarks worked. I'm guessing I had originally benchmarked dtsm at stock and it wouldn't go higher than the benchmark with oc until resetting benchmarks? No big deal, just noob problems. Now hitting up to 760 sols/s at 100% power limit, but will have to bring that down as this card is in a gaming computer and to it cant stay under 70C even with fans at max - stays at 71C haha

71 isnt too bad
I've got my limits set to 79

Just need some more time and exchanges Smiley
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser Question for 6 1080Ti on: January 11, 2018, 11:19:30 PM
You'll need to plug 2x 8 pin connectors into your 1080ti, then one 6 pin into  your riser, and the usb of the riser into your MOBO.
If you dont have enough 6/8pin connectors, you can use the supplied sata - 6 pin adapter provided with the risers, it's not recommended though as they have been known to melt. I've used them on some cards for a while though no problem, but be aware it can cause issues.

Hi I was hoping someone could help me.
I have had a 1080ti now for about a week and I'm still playing with settings.  EVGA 1080 TI SC2
I see people under powering them all the way to 65% but this does not make sense to me.  Why buy the big dog if you are going to slow it down?  I understand you get more sol/w but really does that matter if at the end of the day the profit is larger running it at 85-120%?  Id rather spend $5 to make $8 (3$ profit) than spend $1 to make $3 ($2 profit).  Not as efficient but at the end of the day I have more money.  Am I wrong here?

Also can anyone recommend settings to get 700+ sol on zclassic.  I have been very stable at 650 sol with these settings

TDP 85%
GPU Clock +50
MEM Clock +100

Thanks!!

you can set gpu clock to +75 at least without any issues.

Run all my cards at +75. Sometimes a PL between 75-85%. Seems to be a safe number.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 11, 2018, 08:00:51 AM
What clock and power settings should be used for a 1080ti mining skein?

Do you actually wait for a reply here instead of trying yourself? Genuine curious question.

Maybe he has and is wondering if his settings are close to other people’s performance wise
