141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [STJ] STORJ Token Sale :: 19th May - 19th June on: May 13, 2017, 04:53:44 AM
BTW I think STJ doesn't make much sense for the coin ticker.

STORJ would be great, and reflect the brand better.

SingularDTV's ticker is SNGLS, STEEM, BURST, STRAT all have 5 letters, so I don't see why STORJ can't be done.

Even STOR or STRJ would be better.
I totally agree with that: UP with the STORJ ticker and DUMP the STJ one...

P.s. the brand shall be recognised instantaneously using STORJ as default.
142  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Brainwallet from my own poem on: May 12, 2017, 08:15:54 AM
I am baffled with lot of readings regarding how weak and prone to hacking if you use brainwallet.

But what if I create brainwallet from passphrase using my poem which is nowhere written on paper or on web, its only in my mind and I am quite sure that nobody can hack my mind.
Just don't do it. It won't be random enough and it'll be vulnerable, plain & simple!

Refer to my thread about brainwallets and paper wallets for further hints and discussion about it...

144  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] 1Broker.com - Trade forex, indices, stocks and commodities on: May 12, 2017, 05:05:34 AM
Regard on your red trust, do you have any comment on it?

Because i would like to try and be an affiliate but i want to promote a fair platform to customer

thanks
I was about to ask the same issue...

Is the user monbux's situation¹-² resolved?

What's the 1Broker staff's view of that situation?

[1] monbux's accusation against user exxe: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=39069
[2] monbux's accusation against user 1Broker-CS: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=926229

P.s. as complained, is the platform still suffering from "multiple bugs" concerning stop loss?

146  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] BitcoinTalk Escrows: Ranking & Blacklist → Avoid scammers! on: April 23, 2017, 09:00:24 AM
Maybe skip the D rating and just go to F. F = Fail or something like that.
I'd rather keep the original alphabetical order (A to D).

"D" might also mean "disaster", "debacle", "disgrace", "discredit" or "danger".

I like "débaclê"!  Cool
147  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] BitcoinTalk Escrows: Ranking & Blacklist → Avoid scammers! on: April 15, 2017, 10:26:35 AM
I replaced the previous "Escrow Service Class model" to something more similar to what's done by rating agencies as I think that's gonna be more professional... Please refer to OP to see it.

All scores have been updated.

Very nice guide we have here!

Thank you shorena for maintaining this thread updated.

150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: March 27, 2017, 06:54:32 AM
any idea when it is going increase the price ?.....Shalll i wait for Jan 2018 ?If i wait can i get atleast $1.5 ?....
Hey, you're talking about speculation.

What science has proved so far about that is:

Humans can't predict the future price 100% assured.

So the best answer for your question is: "only God knows..."

MaidSafe is a robust project with a good team backing it. It shall thrive...

P.s. my only concern is the indirect effect of the Bitcoin Block Size "Civil War" on Omni and it's results on this project as well...
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Changelly.com - instant exchange. VISA/Mastercard accepted. on: March 27, 2017, 06:04:31 AM
wtf?
1 BTC = 1,997.44327261 USD
I thought 1 BTC is like 1k$ now, not 2k$
Ouch...

That's what I call a HUGE spread!

Maybe that's a temporary situation due to high BTC volatility times, high demand for BTC and few funds in BTC held by Changelly.

My suggestion: check their BTC spread again in a few hours...

edit: that might happen due to the recent (VERY) slow BTC tx confirmation times...
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storjcoin X (SJCX) - A Coin for Decentralized Cloud Storage on: March 25, 2017, 02:45:57 AM
As I'm a huge fan of the KISS principle, I'd suggest that the new ERC20 token should be called "Storj Credits" (SJC) instead of "Storj Coin X" (SJCX).

That way you avoid eventual problems linking the token to terms that might attract unecessary regulatory attention, terms like "coin", "money", "currency", "commodity", "stocks", "shares", etc...  Wink
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitKey: New Linux Distro for Bitcoin on: March 24, 2017, 04:16:16 AM
This Linux distro seems to be promising...

IMO it would be even more powerful if it was based on Tails or a mix of Whonix + Qubes OS.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: March 24, 2017, 02:44:22 AM
Migration from Counterparty to Ethereum

Congratulations to Storj Team for having the balls, vision and pragmatism in order to take the necessary action (with the right timming) and shift to Ethereum's network.

Storj is one of the most pragmatic crypto-projects out there backed by people that really has a real business view - and that is really good for all stakeholders.

Counterparty is suffering from slow updates/development and (indirectly) from the neverending Bitcoin's Block Size "Civil War". Unfortunately Storj was linked to that problems too.

I'm really glad we still have good professionals (in "cryptoland") that knows how to run a business efficiently.
155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] BitcoinTalk Escrows: Ranking & Blacklist → Avoid scammers! on: March 23, 2017, 04:31:08 AM
minerjones joined the show!

P.s. I gently ask all members from this list to keep me aware of any changes concerning cryptocurrencies accepted, min./max. amount allowed, fees or PGP signed msg availability.

i.e. If you change anything about your escrow rules, please tell me!

Thanks in advance.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: March 16, 2017, 04:20:23 AM
They really need to hire someone for the marketing, having a great product without marketing = nothing.
More marketing videos for a YouTube channel would be a very nice approach!

Google Adwords and Facebook Ads might be cost effective too...
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: March 14, 2017, 03:28:34 AM
Great to hear that, do you have plan to have signature campaign for the marketing and promotions? It is also good way for us to make some precious SJCX tokens, and you still have much proportion of coin reserved, give us more.
Thinking about your post, that might be an interesting idea in order to spread (even more) the word of Storj being definitely available (out of Beta) to the wild worldwide market!

BTW it's not testing time anymore, now It's Business Time folks!  Cool
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: March 14, 2017, 02:39:02 AM
StorjX is officialy out of the beta! http://blog.storj.io/post/158359154453/storj-comes-out-of-beta

They need a better marketing, cannot believe nobody posted it here yet!

"We’re excited to announce that Storj is officially out of beta! Our platform has been completely free of charge as we stabilized our technology and optimized performance. To start, every registered user can use up 25 GB storage and 25 GB bandwidth (every month!) free for 12 months.

What happens when I go over the limit?
If you go over the free allowance and you have payment information on file, you will only be billed for your usage above the free allowance. Currently, that’s 25 GB storage and 25GB bandwidth every month. If you do not have payment information on file, you may be rate limited until you submit your payment information.

How much does it cost?
Storage is $0.015 per GB per month, and bandwidth is $0.05 per GB. This is about half the cost of competing services, and a large percentage goes directly into the pockets of our farmers.

Can I keep using Storj for free?
Great question! We just launched our referral program, so you can invite your friends to Storj and get an additional 50GB of storage and 50GB of bandwidth once they join and spend $10. There’s no limit, so invite away! Log in and head to the referrals page.

Can I pay in BTC or SJCX?
Currently, we don’t have automatic billing options for using cryptocurrencies, but we plan on adding them in the near future. In the meantime, we will manually accept BTC and SJCX payments for large users. Please contact sales@storj.io for more information.
Thanks as always for your continued support, and for making the open source and distributed web possible!"
Exciting news! Exciting times!

Unlike other "alt-crypto-projects" this one is a real professionally run business. Congratulations to all team!

Now that it's out of Beta I'm expecting more BIG announcements in the following weeks...

Maybe possible involvement of more BIG 500 Forbes companies as clients like COX Enterprises?

Pay attention to what I'm writting:

Storj is doing history!
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: March 13, 2017, 07:24:38 AM
when is maid going to take their idea from napkin at bar and start fucking coding this fucking 3 year bar scam
Scam? It one of the biggest projects in crypto.. you need to wait another 1-2 years, so be patient.
I totally agree with your statement, you said it all bro!

Patience is key here...

Don't forget PortalWallet (A fork of Warpwallet that adds BIP39 mnemonic generation)

https://github.com/Logicwax/PortalWallet
I'm gonna take a look at it.

Thanks for your contribution!
