Great information for people who are just learning about ICO's.
The big key is just to do your own research and ask a lot of questions at ICO's, it is the beauty of this forum!

I think if you want to make profit in ICO's you have to be very picky and do a lot of research.
There are so many now, that you need to separate the good ones from the bad ones.

I would look into Crowdholding. They have a very strong team and a working platform since April, they just announced they have over 2,000 users already and the ICO hasn't even finished. They also have a hard cap of 1 million and they are at 87%, so I expect them to close very soon. https://ico.crowdholding.comHope this helps on your quest to find some interesting ICO's!

Roadmap is very important, ask about what they plan to do if they reach their goals.
You want to see what they are spending the raised money on.

Very exciting news! I'm glad to see that 2018 has started well for this project.

It is needed to protect the altcoin.
If it gets dumped the only ones that profit are the ones who dumped it fastest and had the largest amount (which would probably be a Pre-ICO investor).
I think it is a good thing and personally I would be unhappy if an ICO didn't have it in place, because in my eyes it would mean they do not care about the coin after the ICO is completed.

Love this project and I am seeing improving consistency, I think these guys are going to go big.
I just think they need to be in the sphere longer, get more users and get more startups and it will really start rolling! I am expecting them to be a bigger player in the scene next year (and nobody really knows about them).

And it will bounce back up, it is very volatile compared to other markets because it is still trying to establish itself.
Also look at the fact that once there is a crash, it comes back stronger so just hold on there.

Couldn't agree with you more.
Only invest into an ICO if you like the project and believe in it. Don't look for a quick turn around after 12 hours.

The most important thing is to research every ICO you are interested. Talk to the team, ask questions, read the white paper etc. I would then get involved in a bounty campaign rather than investing immediately. It is better to be cautious than throw your money away. Personally, I am looking at Crowdholding. They have a working platform, strong team and they are trying to build a community. https://ico.crowdholding.com

I still believe so, you just need to make sure that you know what you are investing into.
Too many people are throwing their money into ICO's expecting results in a week and not understanding what is going on. If you want to invest into an ICO do it for the long haul, and believe in the project, and if it takes a little longer to see gains you will still be happy because you become part of that ICO.

I am a big fan of ETH, but I do not see it overtaking Bitcoin.
I do believe that it is the only other coin that will come close and compete with Bitcoin, but you have to remember Bitcoin has been around a lot longer and is the flagship for cryptocurrencies.

because it has the ability to :-
a) disrupt huge businesses who monopolise everything.
b) improve processes in all industries to make our lives easier.
What isn't there to like?

I use it for my ERC20 tokens and I couldn't be happier, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to store ERC20 tokens or ETH.

I do sorta agree with this article.
Sadly because there are more and more ICO's originality is becoming harder and so marketing needs to take a bigger role to sell one altcoin against another one even if they are very similar.
I think the ecosystem needs to change because alt coins were created to help innovation, not raise money for startups.

I don't think most ICO's are a con, but I do agree there are some bad ones.
Sadly you mostly hear about the bad / scam ones rather than the average successful one. Just research and look into everything before investing.

Use My Ether Wallet, I think it is the simplest one out there (and probably the most used)

I don't think addiction, but depends on the person.
more than likely (sadly) the Russian guy put a lot of his money (maybe too much) into alt coins.

I think they would have a small part to play, I would advise to avoid them if possible.

Kudos to you man, takes balls to take about your current situation so I have a lot of respect for you being so open. I will look into blackbytes just for you dude.
Please don't lock yourself up though, I had a good friend who went what you went though and it took him longer to recover because he refused to get out. Do yourself a favour, work on yourself and build yourself up but also unwind sometimes.
