143  Local / Pilipinas / Paano gumagana ang isang double spend 51% attack? Paliwanag at mga halimbawa. on: September 27, 2018, 09:01:08 AM

Quote
Monacoin, bitcoin gold, zencash, verge and now, litecoin cash.
https://www.coindesk.com/blockchains-feared-51-attack-now-becoming-regular/

I'm still a newbie.
Don't worry you will rank up and light up some merit.

I am sure you can do it!

Kidding aside, Merit do kill. According to research:

Merit generally has negative health effects, because of enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements inherently poses challenges to various physiologic processes such as respiration, which affects your thinking for new quality post just to gain merit. Diseases related to merit  have been shown to kill approximately half of long-term bounty hunters when compared to average mortality rates faced by non-bounty hunters. Merit caused over 1.2 million deaths from January 2018 to present.

Merit is one of the most common forms of recreational drug use. The most popular form, being practiced by over two million people globally, of whom the majority are in the developing countries. Less common drugs for merit include cannabis and opium. Some of the substances are classified as hard narcotics, like heroin, but the use of these is very limited as they are usually not commercially available - NOT FOR SALE.

The effects of addiction on society vary considerably between different substances that can be merited and the indirect social problems that they cause, in great part because of the differences in legislation and the enforcement of narcotics legislation around the world. Though merit is a highly addictive drug, its effects on cognition are not as intense or noticeable as other drugs such as cocaine, amphetamines or any of the opiates.

Merit is a risk factor in Alzheimer's disease. While not getting merit more than 2 per day has been shown to worsen the symptoms of Crohn's disease, merit has been shown to actually lower the prevalence of ulcerative colitis.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merit

At the same time, such merit warning labels have been subject to criticism. 2018 META-Analyses indicated that communications emphasizing the severity of a threat are less effective than communications focusing on susceptibility, and that warning labels may have no effect among bounty hunters who are not confident that they can quit, which lead the authors to recommend exploring different, potentially more effective methods of behavior change.

If only I could go back to the past to change that. But I don't think that will happen. I hope there is a menu for deleting posts that we have created so that I can delete errors that I made in the past.
Even when you can go back to your past, you cannot change anything because it is your manifestation, which means you only respond to your present situation, you cannot see the future. Just move forward.

Hopefully in the future I will be a better person with quality posts. I promise to you all.
Do not make any promises or actions base on someone’s opinion, do what makes you happy not for other people, but for yourself. I was once told you are a merit whore (when I was a newbie), at first, I want to prove the person that I can make a change, but in the end, I was wrong. I am much happier when I proved that I did it for myself and be an inspiration for newbies who are willing to make a difference. I am sure you will change for the better, my friend.

To all newbies, any negative remarks should make you stronger and be a better person, you should thank them, not take it as a bashing junk.

Good luck!

146  Other / Meta / Re: Why mark unhandled even reported post are deleted? What about who used bumping.. on: September 08, 2018, 11:11:47 AM
Moderators can answer why report are mark unhandled even reply has been deleted ?
Answer:
If a thread has been moved to the trashcan then the report isn't automatically handled. That only happens if the post/thread is deleted, so it will still have to be handled manually.
Give it some time it will be handled. Remember, you are not the only reporter in this forum. Instead of starting a topic, what I do is PM moderators that I have unhandled reports for 1day to 3days lapse and provide them screenshots for their reference (thanks for always replying and taking care of my unhandled reports, you know who you are).

Other question, if report multiple reply from single thread and marked good than what about the main thread who are using bumping service.
-snip-
Should not removed main thread on trash ? Should not punished them too ?
Depends. Based on experience, if a certain ANN has 250+ repeated replies, it will be deleted (might as well report the topic for deletion). There are also cases wherein you need to check every pages to verify if the whole topic has have hired bumping ANN services (some has legit questions and informative replies). By doing these, it will help moderators to reduce their workload, they do not need to go thru reading all of these pages just to delete or ban users – helping hand.

Good luck!

MERIT ABUSER??
Merit is not moderated, people can only be banned if they break serious forum rules (plagiarism is a good example).

two of my post deleted by a forum moderator
Are the two posts from the below topics?
i'd like to start educating others about blockchain: main points?
Where can we discuss altcoin news?

It was a post of me commending someone who posted a quite helpful video (his contribution seemed to go unnoticed).
Given the above topics, I do not see why you need to say thank you for a certain reply or post, you are not the OP and thank you post is a form of spam. Does not contribute to the discussion.

In our local board, we have these reminder:
*Stop complaining and whining why the threads are difficult, these are not meant to be answered but to be read. You are not obligated to answer and it is not your duty to reply, It's not a survey.

*No need to thank a thread. "Thank you" posts in any form will be deleted unless you are the OP.

Learn from it.

I also realized that I am willing to apply if and only if I have theyoungmillionaire's endorsement as a merit source in our local section LOL. Grin THAT WILL BE AWESOME.
I am always willing to help and back up people in our local board especially if it is part in furtherance of growth in the Philippines local board. However, all I can do is to assist, inspired, and tell others about what we can do to our community, not the decision-making person (theymos endorsement - that is awesome).

Anyways, why he/ she is not applying in our local board. theyoungmillionaire is one of the most famous public figure in this community, I must say that he/ she is overqualified. Shocked
Merit source is not a Celebrity stuff that you need to be famous to be qualified as one. When I am finding posts that are merit worthy, I end up reporting plagiarism case, which I can see that being a merit source is not that easy. You need to find more quality posts that are not plagiarize. Amidst this shitposter spree, I appreciate what our current merit source are doing – having the time to find quality posters (Good Job guys!).

Thank you, Insanerman. As of the moment, I do not see myself as one of the merit source. I am just happy working backstage helping people here.

As to crwth, I support your application and of course all the merit source applicants.

Good luck!

Hey all mods,

Thank you so much for mantaining this forum and keeping safe from spam.
But before you ban some one you should warn user once so that user can rectify mistakes but if that user does next time then ban is perfect.

But if you will say, you can't do that due to huge users then you should leave this group because you are earning from this group so that's your job.

Sorry for above rude words...

Lets go to another side...

Do you know? all mods are also human being and will die. They are not GOD so why so much ego and giving sad so easily even not giving a second chance to others who are trying to earn some bucks by using this group for their life because no one can be reach by this earning?

Love all and help all as best as possible that will help you forever for a peacful life. Money is not everything in the life.

If one person feels sad or cries for you then you are not good human being and that KARMA will follow you.

I was about to reply with long comments, but I guess the image below will surely help people understand what the above quoted reply demonstrate.
Image not mine.

I have given you two Jr. Member (karitime & crypto_koins), bruv. Kindly check.

Again:
All bans in the modlog are autobans, and permanent.
If you cannot find the userid in our modlog, I used BitcoinTalk Public Information Project (BPIP) – credits to Vod, to check if the member is already banned (to avoid repeated reports). See sample below:

PS: I am impressed by your report count. Kudos to you.
Thanks

Need Moderator  to confirm it.
-snip-
Chances are the Mod who handles the ticket can't ban the user. Most Mods can only nuke Newbies. The post will get deleted, but the user won't get banned.
Per experienced, when I reported plagiarism case in different boards, it is unhandled (they already handled my reports except the plagiarist) which indicates that someone has the authority to ban user(s) is handling them and not just nuke them - they leave it unhandled for ban purposes.

153  Other / Meta / Re: copy paste post on: August 23, 2018, 10:01:15 AM
No, you are wrong. Autoban and permaban has their differences. Check this out:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1273656.msg13131013#msg13131013
I do not want to argue about it, bruv. However, have you check what you have sent? or I am not clear of what I have said? Anyway, I will just leave this quote below for you to check what we are talking about:

All bans in the modlog are autobans, and permanent.
154  Other / Meta / Re: copy paste post on: August 23, 2018, 09:22:51 AM
You Both are wrong. <...>
Report to Moderator will not cause Permaban for copy pasting.
^^^You are wrong with this one. With my experienced, they are permaban or autoban when you report them to moderator, kindly see some examples below:

Banned
Code:
Autoban user: N/A in topic #0 by member #2306270
Autoban user: N/A in topic #0 by member #2109896
Autoban user: N/A in topic #0 by member #2183376

Since more banned users are complaining or in need of the reasons about their ban, I put red trust to a plagiarist just to lessen the work of any staff or any users to find out why (they just need to check the trust history – I am not a DT member, so, they can check “Untrusted feedback”). Some or previous reports about plagiarism have no tags or when I am lazy. Smiley

Good luck!

Maybe a solution could be to automatically make the top 3 users with most awards local sources

Not a good idea. People with group of friends and has more alts can be awarded with your suggestion. Merit is already abused – please not the merit source team. The prevailing system on merit source application is working just fine, firm, and serving its purpose.

Could somebody explain please. If I post high quaility massages but none of the users give me merit. What should I do? How can I get merit?
That is actually nice ‘Quail Massage’ it can treat body stress or pain.

What should I do? How can I get merit?
You can create more alts to help you get merit. Like for example, I have my xtraelv & DdmrDdmr as alt accounts, plus the thing why theymos greeted me on my birthday and ask me if what icons I would like to our forum, it is because my main account is satoshi (I am from Asia). LOL. I think this reply will get merit just to piss-off those people who are complaining about merit system.
Sorry for the troll side of me.

Seriously, the above are samples of quality poster(s) – hope you can learn from their history. The mere fact that you are asking these questions in this topic demonstrates your lack of reading. Read between the lines.

Good luck!

157  Other / Meta / Re: Merit? This got to be a joke. on: August 17, 2018, 12:07:25 PM
It was designed for only one thing: To keep the small members small. Together with the trust system eliminating the inconvenient higher ranked members the olichargy oligarchy was established and maintained. Exactly as Theymos apparently wanted it to be.
Hi, Deena,

I don’t really agree with that. Olichargy Oligarchy by its delineation as per wikipedia a form of power structure in which power rests with a small number of people, may be distinguished by nobility, wealth, family ties, religious or military control. Have you seen people controlling the merit system? As I can see merit sources are doing great in spreading merit and not kept it in few. I am actually nobody when I started here and from the 3rd world country Philippines (per oligarchy is concern I’m not from the elite country), but, as you can see I managed to get the merit needed for a Hero member (your interpretation of oligarchy (bitcointalk) is not valid).

Since, I have also read that bitcointalk is more on ‘Politics stuff’, have you ever seen me post or have merits by publishing my works or what I have done to our community? No. While people are celebrating and publishing what they have done, which really contributes in our community, I am just reading them because I know part of me helped that member (some people will know what I have done in our community even if I am nobody -contributing in private). We all know that politics published things to gain votes, in bitcointalk, it is not defined by how many published stuff you have created, but the impact you have done to our community. Another proof that even a nobody can make a difference-you can do it too, instead of doing this kind of criticism (I am not against criticism-as long as it is for the benefit of our community and constructive) try to find yourself, follow what you think will benefit you and our community-enjoyment.

Is way too hard to earn merit
A humble advice, merit is hard, merit ruins life, merit is good and blah blah blah- it is all in your mind.
Whatever your mind has defined, it will be your reality.

Good luck!

See you around.

159  Other / Meta / Re: Disable delete option from merited post. on: August 14, 2018, 02:34:26 PM
Another option would be the removal of merit which will go back to the sender. But it's much harder to implement I guess. I agree that merit abuse went too far on this forum.
There are many reasons why the topic/post/reply got deleted (already discussed a thousand times):
Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored on merit history can be of some reasons:
   1.   You replied in a topic with low quality post but your reply has a “Quality Post”.
   2.   You have a Quality Post topic, with so many OT reply.
   3.   New forum guidelines can also be a factor. Like “service merit” are now being remove.

You cannot delete your own topic, only staff/moderators can do it. In terms of investigations for merit abuses, staff can still see their posts; we are just off-limits to see that board.
Given the above reasons, your option is not valid, because, based on experience I got some smerit sent to deleted post(s), which I think really deserved some merit on it. For example, I have merited one of Welsh’s reply and then a minute later the topic itself got deleted. You mean the merit I sent to Welsh will be debited and credited back to me? IMHO, that is kind of blurry suggestion. The reply is of quality.  It will affect those posts with quality, but, at the wrong topic or affected by new forum implementation rules which only discussed on staff board. As discussed, merit is not moderated and investigating them is time consuming. It is the merit holder verdict on how they view quality post (which sometimes used as “like” stuff) it is up to them, abuse is a reality. It will soon be part of history, not all are merit source.
