@Bitfreak!
Another requirements question. When you say you'd like "recovery of lost coins" do you mean "recovery of coins sent to addresses/keys whose corresponding private keys have not been used in X time"? Or do you mean "recovery of coins in addresses/keys that have not been used in *ANY* transaction (ie, neither the private key nor the public key has been used) in X time"?
I ask because it's possible that Alice lost the private key to one of her addresses many years ago, but Bob just sent coins to that address using the public key just last week. Are the coins Bob sent to be considered "lost" because the only key that could possibly spend them hasn't been used for many years, or are those coins (and all other coins in Alice's old account) to be considered "live" because the public key to that account was used only last week?
If we go with the first option, then once Alice's old account has been "recovered", as long as she doesn't reactivate it by using the private key that we assumed was lost, any coins sent to that address may be recovered immediately, even in the very same block as the tx that sends them.
The first option seems more sensible to me, because the only idea that causes "recovery" to make any sense is the presumption that the private key to the address has been lost. Coins recently sent to that address do not indicate that it has been found.
But the second option is more sensible in terms of orderly data structures. If it's the private key only then we need to keep track of the last time each account was decremented, but we may never completely delete an account from our account lookup because if the account is "dead" it remains "dead" until the private key is used, and any amounts sent to it may be recovered immediately. If it's both private *and* public key, then we must remember the last time the balance changed in either direction, but we can delete accounts completely when they reach zero, because the effect is the same if a new spend "creates a new account" as if a new spend is directed to an account that has been "recovered".
I have very similar concerns about this re-mining. Is there already a thread covering this tipic only. Just imagine I do not redeem my casascius coin for 50 years. Will it become worthles? Maybe I want to treasure some "paper wallets" in a time capsule. Please elaborate or link to relevant thread. THX.

you might have to wait for armory supernode version. Then you will be able to watch addresses without rescan. So you will be able to to everything you can on blockchain.info without publishing that anyone shows interesst in address or transaction xy.

Damit liesse sich Bitcoin im Kontext des GWG, KAG, MWSTG und anderer Gesetze einordnen und es würde Rechtssicherheit hergestellt.
Excuse my ignorance: how are capital gains of foreign currency holdings taxed? No capital gain taxes for private persons as long as you are not living of trading, basically. So the ordinary citisen will only pay welth tax (not much), no capital gain tax. However, you can not deduct losses from your income either.

Well... LabRat sell lately 1350 new bonds.
So total bonds=> ~57 350 (~56000+1350)
Is it known for what price these Bonds were sold?

I had some fun with 0.9 lateley. The backup center is just mindblowingly awesome. All the safety questions are addressed. e.g. I was wondering if testing of backup is safe. Just then it tells me that no keys will be written to disk. Great stuff.
I noticed one little flaw though. Might have been mentioned before. Wehn printing a 1/1 (normal) paper backup the last block of of the chain key on each line does not stay within the given frame. two letters were just on top of the line. Does not happen with fragmented backups though. Let me know if you need a screenshot.

How long could this process of transferring shares feasibly take? Has anyone waited longer than 6 hours for confirmation that their shares have been claimed on IceDrill.io?
It has been over 6 hours since I signed and verified ownership of my address, however, the site is still reporting I am holding 0 shares.
Took about 0.5 sec for me. There must be something wrong.

I find the merged mining coin (Namecoin) a great idea.
Why ?
Simply because at 25 TH/s merged mining NMC can weekly bring ~ 3.81BTC (~ 4,405 $). This can literally bring almost a Cointerra Miner per Week to LRM in addition to the already reinvestment plan in place.
A very good income for reinvestment or LRM operating load.
Agree. But I've made this suggestion to LR long ago to no avail. "Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar" ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) It's a GREAT idea, your idea. Isn't Namecoin kind of dead for now? I thought they need to fix a major bug or something. I don't know about any bug with it. IT uses the same software as bitcoin. And if I'm not mistaken, it's still one of the top four crypto-currencies by market capital. And for LR purposes, he can immediately trade them for bitcoins to pay out the dividends they represent. I feel any manager at a company would jump all over an opportunity to increase yield by 2% to 3%. In many mining pools it's as simple as enabling a check box and adding your NMC payout address! Why LR doesn't want to is beyond me. Slush does not have that checkbox no more and i think its because of this: http://www.coindesk.com/namecoin-flaw-patch-needed/

I know there are some people following this thread who speak German. I got a guy who has a lot of money stuck in Armory, and his written English is very poor. I do not understand his situation. Anyone knowledgeable about Armory willing to help him, or at least help translate? I'll split any donations received with you (which may be 0 BTC, but sometimes people like this tip generously).
Let me know if you can help. Even if you just speak german but don't know much about Armory, you can just act as a middle-man translator for our emails.
I am a native german and using armory quite a while now. Please don't hesitate to contact me, maybe I can help you with this. I am also happy to help transalte any strings into German. I love Armory and I have recently introduced it to many others who are not very confident in English but wanted to invest in Bitcoin. How will that work. Do we get a list of strings and just send you back the list of German strings?

Hi, I'm French and my wife is Japanese, we could work on the internationalization into these two languages. However right now, the alloted funds are 0 BTC. Is there going to be a bounty later on?
See here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=225954.msg3440808#msg3440808It is not showing in the project page as the person who donated did not donate to the right address or something. 5 BTC are there however. See lclc's posts for what has been done so far.

@Lab_Rat
I have the following proposal: Take another 25% off the mined coins and put these i to a reinvestment fund. I don't know how scalable the mine is but if it was scalable I would very much like that. You could constantly buy HW whenever there is a good opportunity. If you think that this is feasible regarding scalability and effort and such, we could have some kind of vote again?

One more feature request: I would like that armory keeps the latest synced data available to be viewed before it is back online when starting the next time. Shown in gray or something. that way you could already plan on what you are going to to from what wallets etc. before Armory is online. This can be very handy if you haven't synced for a long time but you are pretty sure balances did not change. Not high priority but I just wanted to mention that.

I left Armory on for some time and came back some hours later. armory crashed and is now re scanning as it has not shut down properly. I guess I left the computer sometime before 21:00. I came back at around 01:15. So the time in the log makes sense somehow. Why did the log not continue while I was gone? I have no screensaver or anything on. this is a win7 x64 system. Very small graphical issue on Windows 7 x64 (probably others as well). When I change my settings in Windows so the everything gets bigger my desktop icons will get bigger. Most programs have an icon which is scaleable without problems. The Armory icon gets very pixly, however. would be nice to have an icon which dies not do that as I quite like the Armory logo.

I am looking forward to hooking up my Geiger counter to my offline pc and fiddling around with the plutonium I bought on SR while counting how many seconds my lava lamp takes to produce or merge a new bubble for even more entropy ;-) Edit: I love the idea by the way!

slightly off-topic but can anyone point me to the exact font which was used for this graphic? Or was it "hand" drawn? Does anyone know the closest font? Bookman Old and Rockwell make a similar B but not exactly like it. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/File:BC_Logo_.png

Was it ever specified what happens to unclaimed shares? Some here have made the assumption that all of the hashing would simply be divided fewer ways, therefore more hashing per claimed share.
Apparently a plan for such circumstances wasn't outlined in advance. As I see it LR has many options what to do with unclaimed shares. Not every option would benefit the verified shareholders. I know you're busy Labby but an official word about what is planned would be appreciated.
This? >> If you do not verify ownership of your bonds via this method by Thursday, Nov. 7th, your bonds and accrued dividends will be absorbed by LRM. Not sure what that means. LabRat, Can you post this stuff about claiming ownership of the shares in the News in BitFunder ?LRM = Lab Rat Mining Therefore i figured that the bonds will be absorbed by the mining operation and not Lab_Rat. Everything else would quickly raise accusations into the direction of "scammy" I guess.
