i have lots of old laptops, and am thinking about getting one of the TH/s miners this month, it will be my first miner and would like to know if i should format one of the old laptops to remove winblows, and install a linux or unix system

any info would be nice, also just bought .50 btc for 410, last night when it hit a low, almost to my first full btc hehe

lol yeah its a long drive, heheh, almost two days in the air, because company gets cheapest tickets, but power here in afghanistan would be free, and that would help out a lot, when some of the new miners have 1500 to 2000 watts....

i would like to know what hashrate and your avg power bill is for your systems, and if anyone knows i would like to know the aprox, power requirments of the new systems coming out, like the 2 th/s and 3 th/s ones, are they standard plugs? and what do you think it will cost to run them a month?

i have a coinbase account, just waiting on the 2 deposit to link bank account, its taking awhile because i did it late friday, so weekend didnt help....

i also have a btc-e account, but can not fund it with dollars because i am from usa, i am trying to figure a way to put dollars into so i can buy btc, i missed my chance this weekend when it was under 600 dollars Sad

i think i can fund it using payeer.com, but when i try and deposit 1000 dollars into it, it wants to change it to RUB in russian currency. i am not sure what to do from there, will btc-e let me just deposit all those RUB and buy btc?

does anyone know a way to deposit dollars into btc-e without using a third party money sending website, im not liking the 70 dollars they want to charge for 1000 deposit...

think i missed the boat on good deals on coins today, hopfully next weekend prices come down again, and i can buy

154  Economy / Service Discussion / btc on coinbase on: December 07, 2013, 06:20:48 AM
is coin base safe to link bank account? its giving me to options one is the small deposit and withdrawl to verify takes 2 to 3 days, and one takes minutes, they want bank log in info, and it takes just minutes to verify, that seems scary, but would like to but some btc while they are at 700

also are the wallets coinbase have just like blockchains? most safe?

one more thing, is there any way to buy btc right now, using paypal? or cc?, and if there are better places to buy btc or ltc please let me know

thanks

159  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / hosting from ebay on: December 06, 2013, 02:20:31 PM
can someone please explain to me why prices on ebay are really really expensive? i see people offering say 8 hours or 24 hours even 3 day hosting like this

Bitcoin Mining Contract: 120 GH/s 24hrs. Two Avalon Asic Miners!!!!

FAST 'N FREE - Get it on or before Thu, Dec. 12
Time left:41m leftToday 9:57AM
$455.00
24 bids
Free shipping

then i check the bitcoin calculators and it shows that at 120 gh/s for 24 hours you get

Coins per 24h at these conditions   0.0355 BTC
Power cost per 24h   0.36 USD
Revenue per day   28.37 USD

am i missing something or are people just wasting money
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallets on: December 06, 2013, 09:51:00 AM
Blockchain.info is the best online wallet. Use it with 2 strong passwords, and 2FA.

Make sure that the backups are secure and safe.

Else use paper wallet.

In any case protect your system with a good anti-Virus software (My choice is Kasper).

how do you make 2 passowrds and what is a 2fa?
