The sellwalls are being eaten alive, jeez.

how do you mine this? where do i point my rigs to? or do we just all solo mine?

Basically, you are able to solo mine this coin for the tx fees, if there are any in the current block (Nullu has set up a script that currently adds a bit of a reward to each block until the wallet update with an enforced tx fee is finished being developed). You are also getting coins via the faucet and from some nice members that are willing to redistribute the coin.

Can anyone tell me how PMC was initially distributed? I read through the first 8 pages, but it was a slow leak of info.

Also, how should PMC continue to be distributed? How does this one guy who doesn't care about PMC have 2600 coins?

Reposting the vote here link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=444266.0

After the coins were mined and the wallet released, the developer distributed generous amounts of coins to anyone he saw posting their PMC address in this thread, then those who got coins were encouraged to continue sharing with people who came in later and add transaction fees to each transaction.

Now people can mine for the transaction feels, so the guy who doesn't want his coins either mined up to 2600 from what he originally started with or received 2600 from the developer or others at the start and was holding - although now he is disappointed.

It is more likely that he bought them for cheap money, as there seem to be some hoarders that are daytrading in big amount over on Poloniex, as it seems.

For the redistribution: There is a faucet that pays out very good amounts and right now there are stable payouts on the blocks, if this is your way to go. You could of course also buy a neat bunch for almost no money over on poloniex, so there are various possibilities to upgrade your stock.

We will probably all have to come together to get Freshmarket back to exchanging Primecoin...
They ended up screwed after the blockchain bug happened....

Someone trustworthy set up a donation addy?

I got them fixed up via PM. All good.

We are live again on freshmarket.co.in Wink

Restart

Vote for this/?
Additional posts from another users?

I think there are some 'God effect' because Xedos is realy rare car mm,,,,,,
Sad

Or make it a fun thing for rarity - only each 25th block pays out anything of value.

For all the newbies to this coin: There is a fauce that pays out decent amounts of PMC every hour

Hey! I'm interested in this concept but seeing as how all Preminecoins have been distributed and it isn't a usable currency, I don't see how one can acquire PMC from one of these early giveaway receivers.

Once exchanges come, it will be possible to buy PMC cheap, but the coin isn't really at that point yet.

How can I, an impoverished PMC newbie with 11 coin to my name, catch up to you guys? I think more bounties should be posted to get infrastructure going because I can do a lot, but I don't see the opportunity to get into this community right now.

Now is the time to buy cheap.
Exchanges:
https://poloniex.com/market?currencyPair=BTC_PMC  -ONLINE

That exchange isn't really getting my vote of confidence - I couldn't figure out how to adjust the timescale for the graph and a few buttons didn't work. Not that I need much trust in an exchange, but I want a usable market graph to know whether I should buy at these prices - liquidity is low so I need a lot of info.

I haven't traded at https://poloniex.com/market?currencyPair=BTC_PMC still, but I'm watching the market closely. I think Poloniex shows good potential, remember it's new. Reminds me of BTC-e in the early days.

To all the other traders who are unsure about this exchange: I have so far successfully transferred, traded and withdrawn both BTC and PMC from this exchange, and while I can't speak for everyone, to me this exchange seems very small in volume but relatively stable.

Sent out a little bit the the 2 above as well, nothing much, I am willing to reward members that help to establish a network and a community Wink

We should really get coinmarketcap to add premine!
Current premine marketcap is at 60,000 USD or or about 75 btc which is freakishly low Smiley

It is indeed, and coins are still really (as in really really) cheap to get.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's get PremineCoin accepted on Cryptsy! on: February 02, 2014, 05:51:10 PM
I don't have any PMC, but after reading the ANN thread it looks good.

Is there any way I can get a decent amount of this coin and become a promoter? I have designed several infrastructure sites for other coins - such as a craigslist for a specific crypto, i made an escrow for the same crypto. also, i'm alright at making videos.

made me laugh, I've sent you a PMC. (I'm joking about the laugh part, but in the interest of spreading PMC here you go.)

Block chain catching up now  Cheesy

I like all these coins that end their mining quickly. I just have to figure out what I can do to get more of this premine  Smiley
Is the dev out of coins?

Yes he is (except for remaining bounties), but the community members are giving away a few coins for each new member. Considering that there are only 500k in existence, that is actually a good amount for everyone.

sen't 10 coins Tongue

No block source available. Whats up? I was reading that the dev may be forking the coin too? If we can actually get a reasonably well distributed supply..get a little Doge culture going

Read up in the official thread for this, the current client version still needs a premine.conf with nodes for connecting, here is an example .conf:

Quote
server=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=9335

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

I got myself some neatly cheap PMC over night, thank you, dumpers Wink

My thoughts about the TX fees: I am not of the opinion that a proportional fee is actually needed, and that a low base fee will suffice, if there isn't a huge influx in value in a short period of time. To challenge this scenario, here is a pseudo-proportional idea:

Link the tx fee to the time that these coins were moved last (Bitcoin days destroyed, I have yet to read into that topic), so that the longer you wait to move your coins, the higher the tx fee will become (I am thinking of a base fee of maybe 0.001% that has a cap of 0.01% if, say, you kept your coins resting in your wallet for a year or so. If we choose the base tx and cap wisely, we could encourage the money flow in the network, which would also be supported by holders sending their stake to themselves in order to avoid big fees.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: February 01, 2014, 09:37:55 PM
I'll be setting my block rewarder script up on a full time server on Monday, and I will provide a donation address for anyone to donate to the rewarder to keep it running. I will also keep it topped up out of my 2k coins I have specifically set aside for it.  The wallet will only ever hold a maximum of 200 coins, just in case something breaks it.

I've been giving it some thought, and I think 0.001 max reward is fine. That's enough to fill 20,000 blocks, but it will likely be lower than that due to the way the script behaves. I've set the minimum reward to 0.00010000, so if all of sudden we get a lot of block movement, the reward will be smaller and be sent out a lot less frequently. Difficulty readjustment will rebalance this once the network accounts for the extra hash, so there will always be upwards pressure to send out the maximum 0.001 PMC block reward, but at the same time anyone who tries to throw hash at the network in a short space of time won't be able to farm the reward.

Due to the way TX fees work some blocks may have 2 or more of these tx fees, but I don't consider that a problem. It's like a variable bonus. So it works. I will get the script ready for Monday, and create the overflow address. This address as well as the donation address will be made public for transparency. The overflow address is to protect any additional coins sent to the block rewarder that would otherwise be lost should something go screwy with the wallet.

Sounds good. I've had mine running for a couple hours now, and so far it's working good. It's like a faucet...for miners Smiley Happy mining miners!

Exactly. Really good way to distribute coins and support the mining network. I've just finished making the changes.

Dev; I don't know the address of my server wallet as it's on my machine at work, can you PM me your address so I can send you 200 PMC? I can PM you on Monday and give you the address to send them back to so I can top up the block rewarder. After that I can announce the addresses and if anyone wants to contribute to its continued running they can.

It probably has enough PMC in it to keep it running for a couple of hours, as it's been mining all weekend, but it won't last long on that.

These are some really great news, if you need a helping hand with the work of redistribution send a pm, I'll be happy to give a helping hand!

The blocks are moving quite fast..

What's going on?

There's no point me running my script until this is confirmed or not.

Probably a lot of hashing power thrown at us, let's see how this will affect the difficulty.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Scrypt Coin "COLACOIN" on: February 01, 2014, 02:34:02 PM

ColaCoin have all it needs to be succesful as coded for Scrypt algoritham with Proof of Work, 20 seconds block time, random super blocks reward (feature from Luckycoin) and transaction message (feature originally introduced in Florincoin).

And a copyright infringement associated with one of the biggest food companies in the world. Great. Fucking. Job.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: February 01, 2014, 01:23:22 PM
Is there a new reward bug?  I'm now mining these 0.46795 blocks,  please tell me this is someone giving back to the miners?

edit: Is this the reward bot mentioned above?

Nah, it's not me. I haven't finished my script yet. It's probably the faucet mentioned above generating tx fees.  Smiley

Combination of Faucet + Reward Bot by Dev...

These are pretty high rewards, these should really help the network get going Smiley

I've updated and used the new conf u posted, but its seems stalled now,
 is there something i can add to conf block the older clients from connecting?

Restart the wallet first, I had the same problem and it seemed to be cosmetic as the wallet estimated more blocks than there actually were
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: January 31, 2014, 02:18:28 AM
Wallet update running through smoothly, I guess the TX fee enforcement isn't implemented yet? Nevertheless, good work, thank you for your dedication towards this project.

So any word on what the problem was? was it a bug that will effect bitcoin as well in a few years? or was it a change made after the fork from bitcoin?

No, it was a bug of my own doing. I believe it is patched, and I'm testing it on an isolated blockchain. I believe everything is ok, But i want to mine more blocks on my testnet before I release the software.

so everyones mined coins are deleted or something? how does it work exactly?

All the coins from block 16000 on. These gave out rewards of 1000, which was uncalled for.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: January 30, 2014, 06:54:27 PM
I'm gonna hop on this bus and say that the original 500k should be all there is.  That was the original intent that got everyone onboard in the first place.  Sorry that you guys got some coins after the problem, but they are worthless no matter what happens.  If things get back to normal I'm going to go on a give-away spree and distribute some of my original stake (such as it is) just to get the coin in more hands.

Yes. Stick with the plan. It was perfect the way it was. Bugs are bugs, and shouldn't suddenly change the course of a coin like this. I was behind the original concept. I still am, and still will be.

+1, keep the blockchain with 500k coins.
