I see that some people didn't enter their PMP addresses but their PMC-Addresses, why would you enter them into the swap document?

I know some of you have sent PMC to the Burn address and have not seen it on the PMC blockchain..
The blockchain is frozen at the moment, we need to mine it..
Maardien, who has been kind enough to keep his asics pointed at PMC, will need to turn them back on again...
Or any of you with an asic could you please get the chain started back up?
I probably could arrange for some compensation in the form of PMP... we need to keep this chain running at least till the end of September...

All right everyone, my apologies for the delay. I was going to post it last night but had a bit of technical difficulties and was tired as hell so I decided to sleep on it and post in the morning. So do we have an exact target date for release? I thought it was going to be the beginning of this week but then wallet issues prevented that.
I'd gladly build a new website or convert the PMC website to PMP once the coin details are fully hashed out and launched.
As kbroadfoot mentioned a few times we are aiming for July 1st for the giveaway, the swap will happen before then. The swap should start this week. Give us a bit more time for the new wallet. Can I have access to the new wallet? and 1 PMP to test and then send back? I want to have a paper wallet generator at launch time. My idea is to have http://preminer.com/ for PMC and http://preminer.com/plus/ for PMP. Any comments? I ninja-linked to it in a previous post. I just had a quick thought that I wanted to throw in so that I can see your opinion on the topic: How about we do part IPO, part giveaway? That meaning, everyone may get a certain amount of giveaway coins, let's say X coins. Those that want more coins are then able to buy more coins in an IPO which is set at a fixed price (let's say 10 cents per coin, I am just throwing numbers around).
The next step: After we have put these 250k coins into the wild, the price for the next IPO will be slightly higher and less coins are given out. This has 2 effects that the new coin would really benefit from:
a) Not too many coins are given away freely -> less automatic dumping
b) People who are interested in more coins will choose to buy from the market as long as the price is lower -> PMC price will rise to the IPO cap (best case).
c) We are building towards an initial value of PMP which isn't in the cellar from the beginning on.
Now there are some fragile variables that we would have to decide on if we chose to pick this way of distribution, these mainly being: How many coins (percentage) would be given away in which portions, which percentage held back for the ipo? What should the initial IPO price be and how should it be iterated (if at all)? And a really general but important question: What should we do with the remaining coins of each phase? Destroy them? Take them into the next phase? Something different?
It would be neat if we could start a little discussion about this, I know that there are some people around here that hate the idea to combine Preminecoin with an IPO, but it may actually be benefital for the whole start.
Also, listen to this idea: We could donate a huge portion of the IPO (if not all) to charity. I don't think any coin has done this before and it would get us some great attention.

There are some points that I am interested right now: How many PMP will users get? How do you plan to prevent excessive Multiaccounting? While giving the coins out remember that you shouldn't flood the market and give the people too many coins, or else the market will be dumped to death. Also, on the note of publicity: How do we get attention? You need to get the attention of the masses to the coin, or else it will be another "meh, it's free, I'll dump it"-coin. Remember to promote that PMC was the first in its field and that it is just getting to the next level.
Just my two cents.
The best idea for the PMP 'Airdrop' as it were, was to give it away in 1 month rounds... Round 1 starts July1st and gives out 250,000 coins ( 50 percent of the giveaway coins ) After that is completed, round two would be 125,000 coins... round three 62,500 coins etc etc... lasting until the year 2015.. each round is a clean slate and people can re-apply for the coins... the number of coins given out will taper down, much like a POW coin tapers... Obviously the usual double dipping and such could still happen... but all we can do is the best we can... we can't do any better than that. We could also utilize the exchanges for some coin giveaways as well.... I will be involved with the swapping of PMC for PMP and I thought it very important that the 'DEV' in charge of the giveaway NOT be me... and Vs Vrs... I don't want to sound like a greedy hoarder that is fearing for the wealth of his coins, but I am a little concerned about giving away 250k coins in a short amount of time. You have to take into account that without enough people claiming these coins, this might result in few people getting a lot of coins, thus automatically lowering the base value of the coin. Don't get me wrong, I am all for giving away all the coins in a reasonable amount of time, but this time we should ensure a wider spread of the coins and especially aim at growing the community. |

Is there an ETA on when the exchange of PMC to PMP will happen?
Do we also have concrete terms of the exchange rate? 1 for 1... 500k for exchange + 500k more for more givaway.... AND, Nullu, we need YOUR help with the giveaway... Also all PMC will not be exchanged, I am sure of it. So after the exchange period is over ( there will be plenty of time ) We all will decide what to do with the remaining PMP in the exchange batch.... destroy? Foundation? Charity? I like design 3 very much.
I'm just doubting between #3 and a minimalist one.
Well, due to the support for #3, I went with that one. There is the question of tx fees which will need to be addressed at a later date. Right now they are optional (0 by default) as there is no benefit in making them mandatory at this time other than to fight inflation. The rate of inflation is low and temporary so it doesn't really matter. Right now I'm working with the developer and concentrating on getting our wallet looking good so as to be more appealing for newcomers. New blockchain is up and lonely. All that's left to do is put up the swap ANN and start the process. I'll get around to writing it soon (this weekend if nothing major comes up). Then we can start the week off with our PMC swap. Don't forget to contact Poloniex about it, so that we get some publicity. |

I am not too happy with the whole flashy design, it's neat but not made to reach the masses. I know that I am actually in no place to complain as you do all the work, but could you try something more minimalistic? |

Heads up: Maardien is going on vacation and his PMC mining will be spotty or even stop... that will halt the blockchain... once this new coin is up and running we will need to mine PMC ( perhaps setgenerate true ) or whatever to get it moving again... sadly, being a BTC clone means retargeting is every TWO weeks... it could be a bit of an issue...
Should we send our coins to poloniex in case they decide to do the coin swap and the network is slow? I don't think that is nessesary... the swap will last 1 month starting from July 1st.... Maardein will be back from vacation by then I am sure In the mean time Nullu and others will be starting distribution of the new coins.... we will spin up the PMC if we have too... I might not have followed the whole conversation up to this point, but why not choose Poloniex for the coin swap? They are a trusted party and this will be good for publicity. A coin swap nobody is hearing of isn't worth anything, you have to give the people something. |

Also, I can ask Europex to keep us around until after the swap period is over... If we have too...
I wouldn't consider making too much hassle about the small exchanges, PMC doesn't even have any real volume on them anyway. Focus on the big ones for the relaunch, the small ones can add PMC themselves if they want to. |
