Ahhhhhh

I finally have the community figured out.

Its acceptable to take hundreds of thousand of coins from investors, only to crash the market to potentially buy back lower walking away with the difference, then mock all the investors and community while doing it..

Classy shit people!

Thanks to all of you that came and sorry I couldn't spend more time with everyone.  I know a few of you were there and didn't get a chance to meet you.

Here is everyone that showed up.

We will do it again!!!

Just letting everyone know that I was hanging out with Tuxavant, Casascius, Andrew Bitcoiner, and a bunch of other forum people for most of the weekend at DEFCON and never saw any of the folks in that picture.

I came to think of something.

At some point in history, there must have been a first time for any sentence to have been said.

So someone, somewhere, at some point, must have said the above sentence for the first time.

This is just too amazing to think about.

Doooooooooode..

Stop bogarting that joint....
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seeds of distrust on: August 18, 2012, 09:05:47 PM
I think DeathAndTaxes nailed it in another thread.

...Another way to look at it is IF you run a business that is 100% legit but it utterly indistinguishable from a ponzi scheme then guess what .... the risk that it will be confused with a ponzi scheme and you may suffer a lack of liquidity as a result is a business risk.  A risk that both the operator of the business and the investors should have considered.   Lets assume Pirate operation was 100% legit.  Could he have done anything to mitigate that risk?  Transparency?  Delayed withdrawals?  Working with a smaller pool of high net worth investors?  Since he chose NOT to take steps to mitigate that risk factor and the "investors" decided to ignore that risk factor any losses are solely the fault of the operator and investors.

Awesome quote...

Awesome profile pic..  Cheesy
150  Economy / Speculation / Re: So what if Pirate does not pay back, he has a full weekend to dump... on: August 18, 2012, 06:19:16 PM
Right, must be a coincidence that the weekend he closes shop we see huge dumps after a large rally.

This..
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seeds of distrust on: August 18, 2012, 06:16:13 PM
Step 1 - Publicly meet your investors/goon squad and invigorate them

Step 2 - Close shop

Greetings,

I've been mining for a bit and I'd like to participate in your forums.  I'm an IT pro with about 20 years of experience in hardware and software.  I've been toying with all the miners and I have a fair bit to contribute.

The reason I'm actually asking for whitelisting is because I was recently scammed on a craigslist ad for hardware by a person named Andrew Nollan.  I would like to post to thread about him.  Turns out he seems to have quite a history on these boards. This person has sold me one good bit of hardware off craigslist, and one bad one.  He has made promises he has not kept regarding the replacement of the bad item, and I think I see a pattern now that i've googled the guy....Seems like he has a history of being a scam artist.  And boy can he talk a good line!

It looks as though he uses the nickname 'Shakaru' -  let me know.

Are you vouching for him?
A simple yes or no is enough.

I dont know the guy, but he seems sincere, I will vouch for him if it makes any diff...    yes..

OK. He's whitelisted.

thank you..
