sold into a market that is going upwards, with clear sign..

Was a poor trade..  or someone needed money.
The fact that the buy wall was put up nearly simultaneously at $5.70 indicates to me that it was an attempt at a rebuy-for-cheaper, not a selloff because they needed the money.

It's not like all manipulation is bound to fail from now on; rather, what's been shown is that you need deeper pockets than 30k btc/$175k USD in order to pull it off.

Yeah your right looking at the position change..

Its just a very very very poor time to try it..

My only tip to everyone is to look at the macd on the last 30 days...

This is all s3052 is doing too..

Also an inverted reversal, clear signs of going to the upside...
1145  Economy / Speculation / Re: attempted manipulation FAIL on: February 03, 2012, 04:52:28 AM
or was an attempted starfish killing, was a stab at triggering a cascade of liquidations over at Glasstableoinica
1146  Economy / Speculation / Re: leverage rally is done at 6.15-6.2 on: February 03, 2012, 04:43:41 AM
The starfish is the most trustworthy trading indicator in the bitcoin market.

Yup, it has to go..
if you cant fully leverage everyone 10 to 1, DONT OFFER ANY LEVERAGE MORE THAN THAT!!!

Im fucking sick of this Bitcoinica, its ruining the market

How did Bitcoinica ruin the market? Basically Bitcoinica pushed the price up (from longs on margin) until it runs out of the available reserves.

If we didn't offer leverage then the rally wouldn't happen in the first place.

We stopped offering "more leverage" when we realize that we can't afford more. That's exactly what the asterisk means.

Then your letting people over leverage.
If you cant afford to have everyone to go full leverage, you shouldnt be be letting them go that far.

Do you understand what your doing by letting the world know you cant afford to give out more ?

But, Im sure you enjoy the sharp spikes down.

This is why you need to exist as an exchange outside of mtgox..

boom, spike down.

Thanks, Bitcoinica.  Only perfect indicator there is Smiley

Not quite the effect you guys where looking for though. That wasn't even a squeeze, and it's retraced back to 5.95.

Ya, just enough to liquidate a bunch of people..  ya.. nothing wrong with that..

Can you show me the canadian vendors ?

I've never tor'd there..
1152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the pessimism? on: February 03, 2012, 12:32:51 AM
I think something in the back of the minds of anyone who is here for profit (either BTC or Fiat), is the fact that a few different people could decimate this market in nearly an instant. Who knows?  Maybe they're just waiting hoping for the $2 BTC again.

Exactly...
1153  Economy / Speculation / Re: Silk Road sale.... BTC explosion. on: February 03, 2012, 12:32:15 AM
It was a joke... I have a drug dealer already..

Whats Silk Road ?
1155  Economy / Speculation / Re: Soon... on: February 03, 2012, 12:26:32 AM
You sold everything right?  I sold it all and I'm short in a big way.  Can't wait for the giant long squeeze.

 Roll Eyes

the market i trade at, is at selling coins at 5.89700CAD..... I'm hoping mtgox will hold 6$ for long enough for the Canadain Virtual Exchange to catch up...

but i dont see a giant long squeeze happening, if i manage to sell at 6$ I'll be buying back at the first sign of trouble.

Virtex is hilarious eh ?

ya I've been looking into getting setup with a Mtgox account and doing some buying / selling across the two exchanges... sometimes we are 30 cents under or 30 cents over

Shhhhhh...  Wink

Actaully, the problem with virtex is getting money into it quickly..

takes 3 days on average..
1156  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the pessimism? on: February 03, 2012, 12:23:44 AM
...means that everyone is optimistic. That is not the reason everyone is pessimistic.

This also signifies bitcoinicas position...  and a raping we will go..

you guys have been talking about the starfish for ages. i don't even use bitcoinica and it's starting to get really annoying. if the indicator were indeed that clear-cut then the market would have corrected for it already -- you constantly talk about it on the forums.

Indeed.  I often see a star next to the buy and sell prices. Sometimes only on the buy price.  Yet, none of this seems to have an affect on bitcoin's price.  It's not moving at the moment, and hasn't done so for the last 24 hours.  Bitcoinica only seems to have a large impact on bitcoin when people are forced to liquidate.  Then the fun starts.  Otherwise it's a non issue.

Your naivety is cute...

Nice.  I sold everything.  Hope you did too.

S3052 Advices in his mailing to buy at 6.1 on the expectation of rally to 7.2.
He base this advice on the break of monthly SMA (which was done by a single buy).

To remain fair to people paying for the analysis, can you please stop sharing information from the paid service.

Thank you.

Hahahaahaha, welcome to the free market...
