Or be able to use the backup spinner provides anywhere else..

And how..  Smiley

224  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How would you like to design a bitcoin banknote? on: July 20, 2012, 04:46:02 PM
I just think a bitcoin note should stand for itself.. no people.. I think it would detract from people taking it seriously, I specially dont like the turing one because the picture is of a young boy it looks like..

Also the people are too prominent in the design..  these should be their own identity, not just reproducing what people expect see on a typical FIAT note...   This is not fiat...

I think it should be designed with math in mind, numbers, shapes...  ect..

I asked 8 people at work, who is Alan Turing..   only one knew..   sad but true..  (I work in IT/Banking)

225  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How would you like to design a bitcoin banknote? on: July 20, 2012, 05:26:06 AM
ugghhh..

The one with alan turing is horrible just because he's in it..

Avoid people..

And one up there has

Vires in numbers..      Is that correct ?

I think its supposed to be slightly diff...

I have been defending myself here since day one and have said the same thing over and over again

problem was you were not just attacked/trolled for not paying that 1 BTC for logo, but also for your other ideas/ventures

every time you came up with something new you were ridiculed and mocked and look at you now , everyone buying your magazine (still didnt get mine, waiting for month now) and i am waiting for that ellet too

Tell us about how Senbonz helped you ... Smiley Just curious..

I gave him 1 BTC loan (from IBB ) and told him to pay me back whenever you have BTC and so the dispute was resolved , then i asked if he was a coder and we worked for a while on some projects. if i had lots of BTC, i would definitely help fund any project he had.

Aweeee...

We all love you Senbon!   Cheesy

EDITED:

This one supports Satoshi's. The amount should be inserted on the blank line after "Amount:" aligned to the right, but including the denomination, bitcoins or milibitcoints or satoshis or whatever else before or after the number of units.

First of all, these are BEAUTIFUL! (and I'm and avid notaphilist)

I understand that the corner BTC's need to be tilted (in keeping with the current common logo), but to me, the large center BTC looks better perfectly vertical.
(I also prefer the drop-shadow on the corner BTC's)

The only other suggestion is to either drop the "Strength in Numbers" or replace it with a bit more subtle "Vires in Numeris"

Overall, I'm FLOORED with this design! (I've already printed one out and put it under the glass of my desk)

What a great addition to bitaddress.org this will be!

All perfect points.. I agree on all counts

Why we need two barcodes on a note?
If we have one protected and one unprotected codes, I can see the reason: wee use unprotected "verify"-code to verify and protect a "spend"-code.
But in all notes in this thread, we use both codes in unprotected way. Why can't we just use only one "spend"-code on this type of notes?

Yeah and isn't there a way to extract the bitcoin address from the private key anyway? So if you wanted to load the note with BTC you could scan the private key and get a program to tell you the address...

yes, you can extract public addy from private key

Contrast is best..

getting better every revision..

Will someone make a simple program to print these out without editing a file ?

Conservatism/neutrality is good when designing money as that invokes feelings of trust and stability.

Hence as latin is old, it should be the "Vires in Numeris".

"Load"/"spend" sounds like coupon words so don't use them.

Yellow bill by spy is not as good as the others he did, it looks jumbled + the folding/crease issue. Yellow color itself is good though.
Green and blue are likely the colors people associate with tranquility and reason the most though.

For disposable bills i think a low ink version of spys or an even a different simple version with same style is needed.

I also think it should be "Public key" instead of "address"... symmetry would require the first + it sounds more fancy.

All just my opinion of course, feel free to ignore it.

Vires in Numeris  I have also always liked...

Tux, how many kids do you have into bitcoin ?  I got a very small bitcoin-esque treat for them...

Also how is getting badges looking ? And would you prefer cash at the shoot for them or bitcoins, ontop of my btc to cash exchange we are doing?

Just one kid. Thanks for the treat!

I think I might be able to pick up some badges on wed night. I'll have to ask around but i'll keep you posted. I can take the cash for bitcoins anytime. If you don't have reception at the shoot, we can do it back at the rio sometime.

Perfect, thanks brother..  Im completely in your debt!

One kid, gotcha..  I was prepared to use a couple of these, so .. might as well give him/her both..

The only reason why I dont like In crypto we trust is because its a blatant rip off of USD ..

It needs to have it own identity..

Considering how "unfair" bitcoin is, it's really a stretch to call it "currency of the people".

Uhhh....

Please explain unfair ?

A currency not back by any gov. and by just people like you or me..  That to me is a currency of the people..

At the very least, currency of the digital generation.

In terms of unfair..  I think your mixing up fiat and bitcoins..   fiat is unfair...

I will be there and will bring Casascius Coins for anyone wanting to do a deal in person.

Awesome!, I was hoping to buy some coins...

We will meet up for sure..   ok ?

Currency of the People ..

That line says a lot...   should be incorporated into a design..

Or "  Digital Currency of the People..  "

But how do you explain the existence of rich bitcoiners?

I think it should be "in crypto we trust" to emphasis mathematics and cryptography.

The only reason why I dont like In crypto we trust is because its a blatant rip off of USD ..

It needs to have it own identity..

New version. As always I'm open to suggestions. Don't be afraid to criticise.

The privkey Qr-code was switched to the middle or else it will be seen trough the paper when folding the note to hide it. It shows backwards and one could always hide it with the thumb, but if it's in the middle, like it is, that won't be needed.

Ooops..  this one is even better Tongue

Folding puts the private key in trouble... the crease will be an issue no ?
240  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How would you like to design a bitcoin banknote? on: July 17, 2012, 06:09:35 PM
Now, here is a new colored version without the tilted B's.

Also great.

Just tell the crazies that the number shown is in fact already encrypted *wink* and hence incorporated into the design.

Love this one...
