141  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: July 12, 2015, 02:13:30 AM
I've considered it.  I know the toomim brothers have a nice operation.  If there are fans interested in helping to foot the bill for something like this, I am sure I would be able to find those willing to donate equipment.  NastyMining hasn't pursued this because I pay all of the electricity costs personally, so I cannot afford to pay for hosting all of the equipment that people have been willing to donate as a long term plan.  A few years ago we were involved with a couple group buys with hosting.  Most of them turned out to be scams, and the ones that weren't made very little profit.  I think the preference for me personally would be for fans to step up and host a unit on behalf of NastyFans, but I realize that isn't a realistic expectation.  There is an interesting USB miner project by sidehack that will produce a very energy efficient USB miner that fans may be more willing to host.  The hashrate is pretty low, but perhaps giving away a few of these sticks might be a way to encourage more fan mining participation as a way to continue growing the distributions.
Finding someplace like Toomim might make it possible to do something like this, the biggest thing would be the hardware acquisition.

Figure a 60TH farm operating at 30Kw would be around $2500/month for the hosting returning roughly 18BTC a month at today's diff.  That would end up roughly 2BTC / week to fans distributions after paying the hosting cost.

However, for the moment I wouldn't consider doing it until we see what the next gen hardware is like, as I have a feeling we'll see new hardware before summer is out which will throw everything into chaos for a little while until the implementations complete and the diff stabilizes.  Then there's that little thing about a halving coming around the corner also... Smiley

1BTC

With 9 more days to go....this will be interesting indeed
Yep.  I expected this would eclipse that amount, but I figured with 9 days it would take at least a little while to get there...  Tongue

And Miffman, yep, agreed, if there's another one of these that will pop up, it makes this one that much less rare and should keep the price slightly more reasonable.

Oh, and I almost forgot.

I'll bump it to 1.01BTC bid.

Ooh, now this one is indeed interesting.  This could go pretty high...

Well it seems everyone is now in the trading mood and thats great to see.  Here is my challenge....the first to post their complete set here on this thread will not only have bragging rights but....will get the very first pack shipped free  from my series 2 which should be out in early fall 2015.  Good luck to all in your quest towards completing your sets!

Series 2??  Cheesy

I know, really, just take my freaking money now... Cheesy
147  Economy / Collectibles / Re: The GENESIS COIN Trading Thread on: July 10, 2015, 12:04:09 PM
Does the full set need to be gold-plated, or just any full numbered set?
148  Economy / Collectibles / Re: The (Official) RAVENBIT COLORS coin trading thread on: July 09, 2015, 10:13:16 PM
I'm not really too interested in selling them.  I'd rather make some type of trades for other coins.

Casascius or rare coins are always my favourites.

Ok sorry I should have read your post better.

You've got some nice one's there good luck with your trades Smiley.

I'm always willing to do 'sign and trades' where added bitcoin can be included on either my part or another party's, but I don't wish to straight up sell them (at least just yet).

Thats fair enough Smiley. I suppose it depends on what you value them at and what others are prepared to pay. And seeings as there doesn't appear to be any previous sales in the rarer coins as far as I know its pretty hard to value them right now. I know there's a bit of a buzz with these at the moment though everyone wants the coloured coins Tongue.
Along with other things (wink, wink) I'm going to try to update my OP with a basic pricing guide.  I've made some trades/purchases and can start to put together a better idea of current market price for what I know from personal experience.

If anyone else has sold or traded any of these, please let me know either here or via PM, and I'll find a way to properly represent how things are trending.

149  Economy / Collectibles / Re: The (Official) RAVENBIT COLORS coin trading thread on: July 09, 2015, 04:09:04 PM

Blazed, are you liquidating your whole lot?

Nah just selling of some...I would never liquidate my entire collection. I love these coins too much to sell my private stash off  Tongue

Dazed: I have no "extra" Silver/Golds that are graded that high for sale. I do have a couple not graded getting ready to be sent in though.

Are any coin grading firms beyond ANACS accepting these coins?
There is NGS(?), however they are nowhere near as reputable as ANACS, and they tend to give out higher grades (usually at least one grade higher), so people tend to not seek out highly graded coins they grade quite as much

Quickseller, I think the opposite is true in the numismatic world. NGC and PSGS are ranked really highly while ANACS and others are ranked as average. See this survey -> http://www.bestcoin.com/Rating-Coin-Grading-Services.htm

The real question is which of these accept bitcoin for grading. I've only seen ANACS slabs. Maybe I'll send a note to NGC and see what they're willing to do.
Take a look at this thread. Pistachio had coind that was grade MS069, and MS68 by ICG. Blazedout later sent the coin to ANACS and they scored MS66 and MS67, which is two whole grades below what ICG gave them (which is a large difference).

My understanding si that ACACS and ICG are #3 and #4 in the coin grading world, however #1 and #2 will generally not grade physical crypto coins  Sad

Thanks for coming around, sounds like NGC and PCGS may be #1 and #2 in the business (there's only 5 or so widely known coin grading firms). What I'm getting at is if NGC and PCGS are more highly regarded in the coin world then a physical bitcoin graded by them could command a higher premium for sales.
Y'all are correct.  I've been doing this coin collecting thing for quite a while, my passions are toned silver and Ike's.

In any case PCGS and NGC are very closely #1 and #2, and in some cases they flip flop that ranking.  For example for Ike's it's widely recognized that PCGS is "harder" on them, and anything in their plastic is usually seems as at least half a grade, if not more, higher than NGC.  On the flip side, NGC seems to do a better job with some other types where you would trust their grades a little more.

ANACS is a solid third.  Their grades are usually seen as 1 lower than the top two in general.  However, they certify an astounding number of varieties, errors, and as we see with the case with Bitcoin, more tokens and medals than the others. ANACS used to be top dog a long time ago, but their grading has come down, I guess most of the top graders are lured to the other two over them.

ICG is a very distant fourth.  Their grades are usually seen as 1 below ANACS and 2-3 below the top guys.  There's very little they get right, and typically you'll use them if you want to fool a newbie into thinking he's buying a really good coin when really it's not.

Then there's the basement graders, like SEGS, SGS, PCI, and the list goes on.  Stick to the top three if at all possible.

Oh, and the most important mantra - "buy the coin, not the slab".  That goes both ways... You could see a coin in hand that doesn't warrant the grade, or one that is clearly under graded.

Good luck, happy hunting... Smiley

Where the colors at???  Angry

Not anymore... Grin

You might be the lucky one... I can confirm there's two more rolls down that did NOT contain a full color set.  Not sure how many more are floating around in the mail still, but I don't think there's many.

I'm still in need of a violet.  PM me if you have one for sale or trade.  I will reward handsomely.

155  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: July 07, 2015, 12:11:11 PM
He is right ! They always raise the price when the value of bitcoin goes up but when it drops they never lower it !!!!!!!!!!!

You got a point there, but you missed the elephant in the room if you intended to buy with bitcoin. They have held the rate of USD to BTC at an older (lower 1 BTC = USD 262.Cool rate despite the additional $18 increase; google currently states a price of 1BTC = 273 BTC . Truth be told, either way its a ripoff, but they are the ONLY game in town, so we'll have to grin and bear it.

The know this that's why they are doing it. come on spoondoolies come out with new chips I am so sick of BITMAIN aka SHITMAIN.

F**K THEM even if they are the only game in town I still wont buy from them. There going broke there just milking the cow but there not going to milk me !

I'm not taking up for bitmain but what makes you all think spoondoolies or any other vendor or supplier won't do the same thing that's how it is, they will .

IN fact they wil be higher in price. again I'm not taking up for bitmian they just will be .

Not that spondoolies is any better, but the fact is spondoolies before running out of hardware they where the ones pushing the prices down, as soon as spondoolies sold out, bitmain raised their prices significantly. If Spondoolies does come back, lets not forget who is the one raising the prices, and who is pushing them down.

Spondoolies had to join the price war with Bitmain because otherwise they had sold simply nothing anymore. And if I remember right, new SP20s were never sold for much less than $0.50/GH.
I bet that Spondoolies sold their too complex non-string design already @ $0.50/GH without a margin, just to minimize losses.
The only reason they run out of hardware is that they stopped producing it, because it was not profitable anymore. So finally Bitmain killed Spondoolies with $0.31/GH.
I guess this is also the main reason for the their merger with Bitcoin Shop. Spondoolies had no money left for the development of their next gen ASIC and a more cost efficient miner.

You should remember to factor in the cost of death with Bitmain gear when comparing to spondoolies and you will see the pricing comparison does not favor Bitmain so much anymore.

I lost 9 (yes, 9) S5's out of my farm over a 3 month span.  Hell, one fried itself the moment I powered it up.  And I'm in a controlled datacenter environment, not outside in a garage or on unstable power.

I have 10 SP-3x's.  I've needed to power cycle them once over the past 5 months.  No dead components, no downtime, no mining time lost to repairs or rma's.

Bitmain produces crap hardware, their quality control is worth shit.  All you have to do is look at a brand new S4+ I got that has its little (qc passed) sticker on it, but won't power on.  It's been 3 weeks now with no running miner while I wait for parts back and forth.  What the hell good is $0.31/w gear when it sits idle?

I would (over) pay for SPTech gear every day of the week over Bitmain crap, because my time is also worth money.  But, I can't because Bitmain is it for now.  I buy out of necessity, not want, and certainly not because it's "cheaper", which it's far from in the long run.

Initial trade completed with CJBianco - smooth and quick!  Stand-up guy.  Smiley

OP updated with the latest list of coins available.  Basically added a few up in the number range.

I know everyone has the gold-plated on the brain, but there's some pretty good chances at full sets up in the higher numbers (obviously missing the core 3, but still).  If anyone wants to swap the higher numbers shoot me a PM.

I may be interested in Gray and Blue, if the price is right...
Id be happy to part with some grey.  Page 1 has some pricing in one of my posts.

I don't have any extra blue at the moment.

+1 to "Physical Crypto".  Covers everything in the spectrum from printed to pressed, laser carved or hand etched.  Cheesy

How many of the Bitcoin have been accounted for? And what about the Litecoin? I haven't seen much interest posted for those, which is a bit surprising.

Regards,
Me
I believe 5 bitcoin have been reported so far.

I have 2 Litecoin, ezeminer and hedgy have one each, those are the only ones I've seen so far.  I'll echo your sentiments, seems odd there's not that much interest.
